Always have a great time at Trudys with friends. Love the Mexican Martini with anything off your menu.

I was Visiting a couple of friends in Austin, TX. One of them took myself and another friend to North - Trudys North Star 8820 Burnet Road Austin, TX 78758 The restaurant was extremely busy, but we were immediately seated. The atmosphere was amazing... Pure Austin. Beautiful artwork adorning the walls, Great music. Our Waitress was fantastic and very attentive. She was always refilling our drinks or checking if we needed something. The food was Wonderful! I had the Custom Dinner Enchiladas, Spiced Chicken with Chipotle Cream sauce, Spanish rice, and Broccoli. Everything was PERFECT! The Broccoli was grilled to a wonderful crunch. The Chipotle Cream was just the right amount of heat, creamy and savory. The rice was the best I have ever had eaten. The Spiced Chicken enchiladas were divine! Dessert was their Cheesecake Flan. Anyone who loves cheesecake MUST try it. I had their House Margarita. It is so far the ONLY Margarita I have ever had that did not give me indigestion.

Trudy's is a staple for my friends and me! The Tex-Mex food is delicious, and the margaritas are very good too. I usually order their chicken fajitas, and they're excellent. The waitstaff is very friendly and attentive too!

Great service. Waiter was proactive about explaining that our food had been prepared improperly (honest mistake). Manager came by to further the explaination. We were well taken care of, and that's not just the Mexican Martinis talking.

L

Great place. Love the food. Very good for Tex Mex. Its a little on the crowded side, so I would avoid this place right after a football game or other UT event. And if you sit at the bar, they usually offer 20% off. Daily drink specials. There's nothing to not love about this place.

The Fam and I were in the mood for some good Tex-mex. We searched Google and came across Trudy's. It's not your usual restaurant, it was a unique place to visit and eat, in a good way! We all left very satisfied, the food was excellent, service was super fast, and the atmosphere was fun and inviting!!! The menu had a great variety for adults and children, and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Trudy's has now become one of our go to spots because we will definitely visit again when in the Austin area!

I don’t know why this says temporarily closed, but it is open. Got to dine in the scorpion bar and it was amazing (this is a must)!! The food and drinks were delicious, we were served quickly, and the staff was very amicable. Great experience, will be coming back.

Can't beat a $7 enchilada plate. Well, you can in San Antonio ($2.99), but this is a very good price for Austin. Plus, the plate was big enough that my boyfriend and I both were able to take some home and have another full meal the next day. I really like Trudy's Tex Mex food. I think it's the best considering other options in town.

This certainly is the place to go when you know you have a long day ahead and need the fuel to last! I go for the taco buffet every time but look at, with envy, the Texas size helpings my friends get when they order off the menu. And the cost? Unlike those new wave restaurants where the prices go up and portions go down I'd almost think that Trudy's prices were stuck in the 90's! Anyhow, the food is great, the service is great and I have never left there hungry... which is also great!

P

Great quesadillas, they also have a tequila martini that is delicious.

5 star service, 5 star food. On my week vacation to Texas, this was my favorite. They have house specials each day and an awesome happy hour. Frozen margaritas were delicious. Got the cholula chicken and it was the best chicken I've ever had. Definitely recommend it. Like sweet and sour chicken but with a hint of spiciness. They're chicken tacos were fantastic. Tasted like they really used quality ingredients! Dakoda was my server and he was awesome. He really helps you choose something on the menu and was really fun to talk to. 5 star service.

Listen to me. You must have the stuffed avocado. Just do it. Thank me later. My absolute absolute favorite dish here is the stuffed avocado. Throw in the famous Mexican Martini or a good margarita and you are in store for happy times. It is hard to find a place better than Trudy's for a good meal and a couple of good drinks with friends. The patio is great on summer nights and the staff is friendly.

S

Had a great meal with large portions. Lots of vegetarian options. The happy hour was $2 pints which was great. They had an endless nacho bar too which was icing on the cake for me! Got to eat outdoors with friends too.

I've been to Trudy's just once, when I was living in Houston. I planned for lunch at Trudy's during my day trip to Austin, based on recommendations from friends who had visited earlier. I'm writing this review in 2020, but I still remember the food and service at this place from when I visited in Dec 2014. The server provided us the best options based on our food preferences and instructed some custom flavouring (to the chef) which made the food taste awesome. I really like Austin and I was hoping to visit the city another time, but work moved me out of Texas. I hope I get a chance to visit Austin and eat here once again, and get a chance to explore this beautiful city again.

Trudy's is one of my all-time favorite Tex Mex places to eat. My family and I have been eating here for the last 30 years and I only had one bad experience. The atmosphere is definitely Austin and food is delicious. Family favorites are the Stuffed Avocado, the Mixed Grill, the Tex Mex enchiladas, and, of course, the queso! Also recommend the Sangria Margarita and the shakers.

A

Had a business lunch here today. Since we were here on business, I completely forgot to take pictures and check in. I had a chicken taco salad with a avacado dressing. Totally awesome chips and salsa! Excellent and friendly service from the staff. Very casual. I say Check It Out!

A
Aila E

Love the chicken suiza enchiladas! The original and Sangria margaritas are great, and the complimentary chips and salsa are awesome too. They also have refried black beans that are great. It can get busy if you go during peak hours, but they do have $6 (may have changed to $7) enchiladas on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. Also, if you come here a lot, sign up for the rewards program so you can get free quest!

I've been eating there since it opened in the late seventies. Truly an Austin classic! It does get quite crowded but that's because it's so good. My favorite is the mixed grill, fajitas, enchiladas, smoked sausage and guacamole dip.

K
Kyle R.

The only reason this review is five stars is due to the food. Highly recommend the Relleno fajitas. However that being set the service was awful my girlfriend waited over half an hour for her refill by the time it had come out we were nearly done eating. Furthermore 2 other tables one a group of 6 who also came in after ya received their food before we did. Will not be coming back anytime soon.

This was my favorite food experience over my short weekend in Austin. The staff was super friendly and they could accommodate our semi large party of 8 after a short wait. The food was delicious! I got the stuffed avocado- it was even more delicious than I was anticipating. Would highly recommend.

Trudy's provided a truly wonderful dining experience. The service was excellent and the wait staff really friendly and accommodating. The place was packed on a Saturday evening, but the service was fast. They have a huge selection of appetizers and entrees, including vegetarian items. It was my first time there, but certainly not the last.

I enjoy eating here. staff is awesome, timely, kind, great service, etc. recently my husband and I went and the I love the stuff avocado chicken but this time was too spicy. I love spicy just not with this dish. the sauce was reddish so can we make it like we ya'll use to. before sauce looked white now its different. love the margaritas too..

We drove in from Waco and needed to get to a show by 8:00, so I called ahead and we were able to get added to their list so we wouldn’t have to wait when we got there. Very good considering it was a Saturday night! The service was good. I’m new to these reviews and regret that I forgot to take more pictures of our food, lol. But it was all good. Pictured are the stuffed and fried jalapeños. So tasty! Love the breading on the outside. They were big, too. They offer two types of salsa - a green and a red. Both delicious with just the right amount of heat! My enchiladas, rice, and beans were great. Love this location, super close to the UT campus and right there in the Hyde Park area. There are tons of great choices in Austin, but this is an old favorite so I love to visit when I can.

Trudy’s is the best, their menu has variety of options that each of them will surprise you. Haven’t been there for while but maybe more than 2 years but their quality is as same as it was. Can’t wait to go back there again.

This place is great. The service was very fast and on point. The atmosphere was very fresh with an Austin feel to it. The outdoor seating was gorgeous. The happy hour drinks were cheap and delicious. I had the Mexican martini which was well worth the hype. The food selection was very thorough. All of the basic Mexican dishes, plus so much more. I had the chipotle wings. The wings were huge and delicious.

A visit to Austin required Mexican Martinis, or out shall be deemed incomplete. At a limit of two per person, they are no joke. A perfect concoction of sour and strong, it is on the way coming from the south and makes it a wonderful beginning to a day of exploring the city. The outdoor patio is good even in the cold as the heat lamps are a burnin'. Sports channels always on and a friendly environment I just can't get enough of. I never eat here so I can't judge it based on that, but it's almost ten years I've been coming to get my Mexican Martini fix and I crave it when it's been too long!

I love Trudy's. I hate that this one's not open for lunch most weekdays. I will deal with it because I love their food. The salsas and chips are super tasty and spicy like I like. I put Trudy's as a tourist destination for visitors as well. It says "Austin" to me. The food is reasonably priced and the service is always top notch. Their Mexican martinis are legendary.

A
Ankita Nayak

The Stuffed Avocado is an amazing dish! Their mini stuffed avocado is delicious as well if you're not in the mood for getting a full dish. The Mexi Marts are really great too (pretty strong if that's your liking). But my personal favorite is the frozen strawberry margarita!!

B
Brandy Shaw

I have to say it has taken many tries of Trudy's for me to finally be able to say I like it. They have really great margaritas (strong) and the food is not too greasy (for the tex-mex). A friend of mine from Dallas takes me here every time she is in town and always gets the stuffed avocado... She loves it! The fajitas are always perfectly cooked and I love that they give you whole wheat tortillas as an option! This location has one of the best patios in the city!

G
Gary Masters

We attend here for Happy Hour on some Thursdays for $2 Margaritas, and the patio outside has a pet friendly area, and those are always a point of interest for us. The free queso bar runs for awhile during this time, but the food is standard bar level. The margaritas are more than making for par food. Which is reason for 4 stars rather than 5.

C
Chase Palmer

I've been going to this Trudy's for 15 years, and the food has always been consistently good. The parking situation can be tough at times, but the Mexican Martinis make up for it. Their stuffed avocado is one of my absolute favorite Tex Mex entrees!

M
Marty Nickel

Our server was friendly but disappeared for quite a while after she brought our meal. I recommend against the pastor fajitas. I was expecting normal al pastor spiciness, but they were astoundingly bland. The total experience wasn't bad though and I'd definitely try Trudy's again.

J
Joel Low

Trudy's is great place to go for all college students, and anyone looking to get some cheap drinks. Happy Hours are highly recommended! Especially the Mexican Martinis! $6 for a tasty drink with plenty of tequila. For food all of the Tacos are delicious, and Healthy portions. For something a little bit different try them in a Sopapilla. The Fajitas are also a good option, and usually enough food to have some left overs. On weekends you will often have a wait, but it's usually never too bad.

C
Chris Monopolis

It's a good spot with solid food. Honey cholula chicken, Mexican street corn and the classic Mexican martinis are so good. They had $2 lone star drafts during happy hour the last time I went, which is great for as long as you can be responsible about it.

H
Hannah Weems

I go here every couple of weeks after work with friends. Normally it's great, well get tacos and Mexican martinis and then head out to bars. Last time we went there, though, the martinis were very weak and tasted like the bartender forgot to add the tequila. Other than that I've always had a great experience!

B
Benjamin Roberts

The food at Trudy's is some of the best Mexican in Austin. Generous portions, awesome chips and guacamole. Service is friendly and attentive and the food is fantastic. Only drawback is the cleanliness of the restaurant. Other than that I highly recommend this spot if you want great Mexican.

M
Melissa Barron

Trudy's Texas Star was very busy when I visited on a week day night for dinner. The staff had a couple of mishaps when putting together my meal and I had to send it back because they were initially unable to accommodate my daily allergy. However, they fixed my dinner quickly and even comped it from the bill. The prices are extremely affordable and everyone seemed to be enjoying their dining experience.

L
Luis Gutierrez

This location is very similar to the others. Food is decent and the service is fairly consistent. The daily drink specials are usually pretty good, especially during happy hour. It can get pretty busy at times given that it's located so close to campus.

t
tinna h.

We sat outside. There was no wait. We didn't have to find parking because we took a cab from where we were staying. We DID order the Mexican Martinis, which were really 2.5 margaritas served in mini martini glasses. Sorta what they're known for. Pretty tasty. They limit you to just two because you're supposed to be sloshed by then. I have a feeling that the guys with us could've taken on more than that... but it started raining (pouring, really), and so we didn't stick around. Food was decent.

M
Michael van den Eijnden

I had some very nice breakfast tacos. The fresh chorizo was good, the flour tortillas fluffy and stuffed. It is not as busy here on a Saturday morning, so this is a good choice if you like Tex-Mex.

S
Shannon Masterson

Recently visited this location with a rather large group (close to 20) and while we had to be separated into a couple of large tables (no big surprise there) the staff did a good job making sure our drinks and food came out in a timely manner. It did take awhile to get my first drink (I was one of the last to arrive) and I missed happy hour, but after that there wasn't a huge wait for anything. I think only one order came out wrong and they immediately corrected it, I'm talking less than 5 minutes. Nicely done. Definitely order the stuffed avocado and ADD TINGA--I promise you will not regret the decision. Decent selection of craft beers here if margs aren't your thing.

A
Alex Smythers

Very busy - expect to wait on weekend nights! Downstairs bar is open seating and has a great porch area with heaters when it’s cold out. Drinks were great and so was the stuffed avocado.

J
Jacob Running Wolf

Pretty decent. Lunch is come and seat yourself. The Mexican martini is what we got and is pretty decent in size. Service is a wee bit slow but still kind and caring. I understand when you only have one server for a busy lunch, they get busy but I never felt neglected. A decent place

C
Clinton Fitch

Love this place. They have a Tex-Mex martini that is fantastic. The food options here are really good with all made fresh. I personally like their enchiladas but having tried other things, all seem good. The guacamole is very good and worth a try. The outside seating can get really crowded so plan ahead if you plan to come here before or after a UT game.

V
Vishnu Ramia

good food and ambiance, college style.

D
Dan Scott

A good place for locals. Food and service are good. Food was very spicy, which I liked, not so much my wife, she couldn't eat the guacamole it was so hot. My chief complaint was that the place wasn't handicap friendly. The five close parking spaces should have been handicapped, but weren't. Also, there were 5 or 6 steps up to get into the main dining room, which was not in service, so we had to walk through that room and downstairs to the bar for lunch. A sign outside would have been nice. Tables in the bar were too small for four people eating lunch.

R
Race Chapman

It's a good location. If you're unfamiliar with Trudy's it's like a more artsy Tex Mex. If you want some good old fashioned enchilada combo this is not the place for you. But if you like more creative stuff then you will like it. Personally I enjoy a regular old taco, which I can at least order a plate here. Their tortilla soup is great

J
Jen Murphy

Trudy's is an Austin treasure!! The staff is friendly and fun! Their plates are big!! Their frozen margaritas are some of the best in town and the free Nacho Taco Bar at Happy Hour is fantastic!!! The only downside is that the Central location has a small indoor bar and is always packed at Happy Hour in the summer. But if you don't mind being out on the porch, there are usually tables there! Try the frozen blackberry margarita, it's my fave!

S
Siri Sjoboen

Trudy's is very consistent in delivering tasty Tex-Mex in a fairly casual setting. I go here almost every week and it's always a pleasant experience. It can get crowded, especially during happy hour & in the evenings on weekends, but they close the parking lot and put tables out there to help with the crowds. They also aren't open for lunch, which can be inconvenient. Highly recommend the Sangria Margarita, my personal favorite Friday happy hour special ;)

C
Christopher Matos

The service was particularly slow the day that I went in. Our waiter may have been busy but it took us about 10 minutes just to get our waters ordered. The manager ended up taking care of us and was more than friendly. After that things went more smoothly. I had the tacos pastor which were okay, but I highly recommend getting the stuffed avocado, it looked amazing!

G
Gary Hwu

If you're 21+ and going to Trudy's on a Monday, I expect you to get the Mexican Martini. For only $5 on Monday, you can get their famous tasty Mexican Martini. Although the drink doesn't seem strong, the Mexican Martini is one dangerous drink...so dangerous that they limit two per person. Any of their other daily drink specials are great too, like the $5 Sangria Margaritas on Friday. As for food, I'm in love with the Cholula Honey Chicken. With huge portions of goodness, I always have to ask for a to-go box. Another famous menu item is the Stuffed Avocado. Yea I said it, a fried breaded avocado stuffed with chicken and cheese. The food prices are a little pricey though, especially if you're a college student. A very laid back atmosphere, this is a great place to eat with friends and family. Although it gets crowded during dinner they have plenty of seating space, including space upstairs.

R
Ramon Telles Jr.

Happy Hour prices are great and the daily drink specials are really good too. The menu has changed a bit over the last few years but I like it. The green chile cheese enchiladas are spicy and filling. The Mexican Martinis should be tried, especially on your birthday (free drink for your birthday!). The mashed potatoes with cheese are also very delicious.

What I learned on my first visit to Trudy’s. Avoid the queso/guac. It’s good, but you’ll gorge yourself on chips and dips. Stick to the main course because you’ll upset when you don’t finish your entree. I got the chicken fajita queso enchiladas, and that was a waste of time. The rice was bland, and the charro beans managed to be blander. Why did I give Trudy’s 4 stars for such a description? I nibbled off some of my buddy’s meal. He got the All American Breakfast with two eggs, ham, red potatoes, and pancakes. Perfect entree that I regret not ordering especially for the price! Maybe next time. Y’all have a good day!!

Really enjoyed lunch here. Super old building, reminded me of an old camp mess hall. Chips and salsa were on point, the queso did not disappoint and the main courses were delicious. Our server was really good and kept the refills coming. I would definitely go back.

Great crowd here. Lots of drink sorority/frat types celebrating their 21st birthdays at this location. Food is so so at best. Quesadilla are colorful. Fajitas no Bueno. Menu items are fun to choose from but not that satisfying taste wise.

The mexican martinis are pretty delicious. When they are part of the happy hour, they are even tastier. Seating in what I assume is the main dining area is pretty limited. The outdoor picnic tables are pretty awesome if it's not ungodly hot out. They also have a bar with additional seating. Although, I've been many times, I've never been impressed with the food. It's ok, but not great. It almost reminds of food you could get at a major national chain. Just meh.

My first and only experience there so far: Service was great, everyone tries to keep you happy and really likes to give you service both in food delivery to chats. Food for my friends were good, but my dish was HORRID. No seasoning in the grilled vegetables or the "pollo del mar". It was like eating solid water when I was eating that chicken, and the shrimp was reheated from a frozen package. No amount of cream cheese could save that stuffed chicken. I regretted that order. Okay atmosphere.

I used to come here in college...went on a Saturday afternoon like old times and the place was a ghost town. Mexican martini just tasted like a thick margarita :/ food was decent but not like I remember. There is so much potential here! I feel like they need to revamp their approach...

It's by no means BAD Mexican food, but I think it could be a lot better. All three times I've been there the food has been okay, but not exceptional, and not really worth it when then are better places to eat in North Campus. Enchiladas had a good sauce but were otherwise uninspired, the rice and beans mostly a formality and lacking any actual flavor. Quesadillas seem to be going more for quantity of food rather than quality thereof, though again, they were fine.Trudy's is perfectly serviceable Mexican food, but if you're around North Campus and you want higher quality food, go to Via 313, Torchy's, or Thai Kitchen instead.

This place has good food no doubt and let's not forget that their tequila martini is so so so good, but the service is a real no no. The only reason why I even give 2 stars is because of their chipotle chicken and martini. This Trudy's is really disappointing.

Trudy's is a well-known watering hole near to the UT campus that is famous for its Mexican Martinis and vehement refusal to split checks. As a happy hour location, Trudy's is quite solid with a decent selection of beers and reasonably priced margaritas. Their potent Mexican Martinis are limited to two-per-person, so plan accordingly. Sadly the food at Trudy's doesn't even remotely compare to their beverages. It's expensive and not particularly impressive. I don't think I've ever had anything with green chilis taste so bland and not spicy. Combine that with their refusal to split checks, and it gets rather frustrating to eat here after happy hour.

Every one of my friends disagrees with me but I find their food mediocre at best. Dining room is crowded and falling apart. You can't tell because the lights are kept low but sometimes you get bored waiting for food and look close. It's not the worst place ever but I don't think it really deserves the hype it gets.

Great service! We went to the campus location. This used to be the go-to place, and you would have to wait for hours to get in. No problem this time however. I wish, since they serve mostly Mexican food, that the flour tortillas would have been better. Especially now that they have a taco bar on the weekends. I had the Huevos Divorcidad, which were great! if they would start making their own tortillas, or at least get a better brand I would give them four or five stars.

They only reason for this is that if it's a seat yourself place tables should be clean. Waitress dropped off menus and asked if we needed a minute then walked away. If we need a minute accommodate with drinks, specials, even a drink menu for happy hour or wat not. That's if you want a tip and be a good waitress/waiter making that good money. Not mean and like we r imposing on u.

Honestly, I used to LOVE this place in college. Loved the atmosphere & food & drinks. Since then, I feel like my tastes have changed a bit. The stuffed avocado is good, but honestly, a ton of breading & deep fried food is not my go-to anymore. Suiza sauce is still amazing though :) Parking- is a tight squeeze across the street. Watch for the trees. My friend hit one once. Service is okay. Ambiance- cramped & a bit dingy. Mexican martini's are still the best in town. Can't beat that.

I brought a group of eleven here. I called ahead but when I got there they had forgotten to reserve seats for me. It was crowded but after a ten minute wait they accommodated us. The service after that was decent. The food is really representative of Tex Mex. I had the fried stuffed avocado and it was delicious. A vegetarian gluten-free guest was able to get something that worked for them. Trudy's is definitely worth a visit but be careful when bringing big groups.

This place is just decent Tex-Mex food. The happy hour is good for after work and some of the meals are better than others. They have good appetizers to share along with a Mexican Martini. The drinks are more mixers and sugar than liquor, so I usually leave with more of a headache than a buzz. The stuffed avocados are good though, but I always feel let down by the service.

There was no wait (plus!) however our waitress (who was also tending the bar) was not exceptional (in her defense she was doing two jobs). We had to ask for refills (I like it when the wait staff sees the need, not waits to be asked). Our food took a long time. It was delicious but again we had to ask for our beans...and never got the tortillas. Only downside was the salad my daughter ordered was drowning in dressing. She didn’t eat most of it because it was so soggy. If it had been crowded, this would have been understandable. It wasn’t.

Pros: Open late, Texas Star Lemonade (Tito's Vodka, fresh squeezed lemonade and muddled mint) was delicious and large, and the hash browns served with the migas were very nicely browned, which is amazingly difficult for most other places to do, tho I have no idea why. Doesn't everyone love crunchy hash browns? Service was also good, we had a very attentive waiter. Cons: All the other food was pretty average. Not bad, just not anything worth going back for again.

I love this place. It's my go to whenever I'm in Austin. However, the last time we came we sat in the bar area by the patio. It took 15 minutes for someone to greet us, another 10 to get our drinks and about 20 minutes for the waitress to come back to take our order. It was just me and a girlfriend. Luckily we had plenty of time to wait. The food was good as always!

Server Jackson was great but the food and drinks were just no there. I've been a loyal patron of this location for years because they had the best but not this time. This time my avocado was mushy and over fried/greasy, the sauce on top was old and curdled looking, the refried black beans had no flavor, and the drinks were bitter.

I was recommended the fried avocado. We got the small version as appetizer. They were ok. I was a bit disappointed after the hype. Other than that it is just a regular or average Tex Mex restaurant. I ordered Fajita Relleno and was expecting some meat and vegetables to wrap in a tortilla but instead got a plate half with rice, half with pinto beans. In the middle a few pieces of (yummy) steak and a huge fried and stuffed jalapeno. This was an overload on fat and carbs.

Have been here a handful of times. The food is okay but nothing to rave about- I would say 3 stars for the food itself. What I greatly dislike about this place is the service. In my most recent visit (that will certaintly be my last), I visited the bar and ordered 3 margaritas on happy hour which was a seemingly simple order. The bill was for full price because the bartender mistakenly told us the wrong special, then made the drinks without putting a rim on the glass so poured the drinks from one glass to another and spilt the already semi-melted drink all around the glass. By the time we were served the drinks they were messy, sticky, and not exactly frozen. I would recommend you save your time and go somewhere else.

Out of state IDs are taken to the back (out of sight) for the manager to check. The food was good, the margaritas were not good. This place is open late and close to campus. Decent atmosphere. Great for college students.

This is NOTHING like the other Trudy's locations. We got right in (on a Friday night), hostess was sweet waitress was too. The food came out cold. Corn tortillas in the same container as flour (which completely defeats the purpose of avoiding flour). Everything was cold. The waitress was responsible for far too many tables for being so new and at no point asked us how our meal was. After we decided to stop eating, the manager came over and asked if we needed our waitress, rather than asking how our meal was/ if she could get us anything; like every other restaurant I've ever been to. While waiting for our check the table behind us (which was positioned within inches from ours) had their dinner disrupted by a leak in the cealing. So I guess we were the lucky ones. Overall, it appears they were trying to turn over tables faster than satisfying their current customers. Two stars was as generous as I could be and it's very hard to make me angry when I have Mexican martinis and cheese in front of me. I also think it's worth mentioning I eat out a lot and have had random negative experiences. However, I have never felt the need to publically review what happened until now.

I'm going to give this two stars. Overall the experience was not something to be excited about. There was no greeter. We walked in, and we had to just find a place to sit. No one said anything to us. When we did find a place to sit, the chair legs were uneven. The bathroom had two sinks, but one of the auto faucets was broken and the other had almost no water pressure. The tortillas are not homemade...tasted store bought. The cheese at the salsa bar tasted like bagged nacho cheese...Yuck! We probably won't be back here. Oh! And they let people smoke in an enclosed outside patio...which totally defeats the purpose. If people want to smoke, make them go to a non enclosed area!

This Trudy's has really lost their touch. It's always loud, to the point where you can't keep up a conversation without shouting. The food is just ok, nothing I would go out of my way to get. However, I should mention that myself and my husband had some stomach issues after visiting last time, so we will not be back. Finally the service is a hit or miss. I've had kind servers, but I've also had some that completely ignore us and bring the wrong food/drinks. Last time, we were there for brunch so I ordered a ruby red margarita with no salt. Not only was there salt on my class, but inside the drink as well, leading to a horrible taste. That might have fallen more on the chef that the server, but it's something that shouldn't have happened. The only good thing I can say about this Trudy's is that they have good options for families. Honestly though, with the loud atmosphere and disappointing food, I'd take my family elsewhere.

Definitely not what I was expecting. Our booth was wet, and not oh well just wiped it down wet. But literal puddles of water on the booth and table. Our waitress was nice enough, but was slow on getting our drinks and order. The food was mediocre at best. I had the Chicken Combo Plate. Everything was bland, yet spicy. The rice was not good at all. And the beans had a weird smokey flavor. The bar area was extremely loud I couldn't hear anything and was practically yelling at my sister who was across the table. I definitely will not be coming back.

I have been to this trudys location plenty of times and Iove coming here. Today I had one of the worst experiences. First, the waiter didnt seem very enthused to be waiting on us, he was very nonchalant about various things such as taking our order or questions we had about the menu. When our food came out I was very excited for the shrimp tacos as I heard they were really good. Once I received my food and took a bite it was utterly disgusting and not at all shrimp tacos 2. I asked for no toppings on my tacos and received toppings. Last but not least after taken a bite out of my food I found a hair. At this point in my visit i was fed up and didnt want anything. I asked for the manger/gm and was not in attendance. A worker at this location by the name Don did come over to my table to offer me complamenty.

I visited this location last night to have my Christmas dinner with my friends. It was the closest to all of us so we agreed to come here.BIG mistake. Sadly. The customer service was by far THE worse I have ever encountered in the food industry. My glass was never refilled even after asking several servers. Our chips we never refilled even after asking several servers. My food was incorrect and I couldn't even say anything because I never even got my servers attention. I would understand if they were busy but it honestly seemed as if they were just in the kitchen fooling around instead of attending the customers. The food is typically good which is why we chose this place but it came out cold and sloppy. I do not typically address management because its a hassle but our server and the servers walking around were so rude and inattentive that I did not want the next customer to go through the same thing. The manager was not very apologetic. She herself didn't seem too bothered that our Christmas dinner was spoiled over the poor service we received here. Needless to say I will not return and much less recommend this place to anyone.

The waiter took our order, and I asked for a waffle with my meal and he said "sure, no problem". Everyone at our table received their meal, and I received a part of mine (missing the waffle). 15 minutes passed and the waiter said "oh, by the way we don't serve waffles anymore, would you like a pancake?" SERIOUSLY!!!?!!?! Then, we asked for refills on lemonade and he brought them out (he never said there will be a charge for every refill) and when we asked for another round of refills he then states " oh, by the way, there is a charge for every refill!" Unbelievable!!!

Revised menu is lower grade than ballpark food at a little league game. There is one entre option- beef tacos. One salad option. And a wide spread of 4 or 5 appetizers (wait for it)- all chip based. There's chips and salsa, chips and queso, chips and guac, and nachos. The drink menu is ok. But the quality of drinks we had was just sad. I really don't have great expectations. I very much enjoy fast food like taco bell and jack in the box. And I understand that it's covid and they're suffering. I truly do feel bad for the establishment. They can't be doing well. But hear more- they weren't taking gift cards that show there's a balance on it is just shady (learned this after they gave the check). They said they don't work at this location right now even though the gift card has that location's address on it. But what has actually put such a sour taste in my mouth is how it was handled with belittlement and by humiliating me. I bit my tongue, tried to react with best respect I could and tipped generously and left and will never come back. Hope if you read this you can consider twice next time you think of going.
