Tacos Al Pastor, like no other in ATX!! Fresh meat and ingredients. Created right before your eyes when ordered! Right spice and superb flavor. Get here and get full before closing time, you will NOT be sorry!!
high-quality tacos! Love coming here for breakfast or lunch. Quick and easy. They've mastered their craft. Seems like they've elevated their menu recently, which rocks.
I ordered the chorizo egg and cheese and a bacon deluxe. I ordered both on corn but the chorizo came out on flour and I have to say I think their flour tortillas are better. The bacon deluxe on corn was almost too dry with the refried beans and corn tortilla. I think I’d try swapping the tortillas next time. Salsas were great.
Not sure why this place isn’t mentioned more often. They have some of my favorite breakfast tacos and aqua frescas in Austin. The chorizo, egg and cheese on corn is a must, but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
Lovely vibes sitting down to eat with friends at picnic tables under the gorgeous mural by SM Sanz (whose work in Oak Cliff and West Dallas is truly essential to the community there and a wonderful surprise to see here). Enjoyed the poblano y rajas taco and the nopales y huevos breakfast taco. Not a huge coffee person so I was glad to enjoy the horchata latte which I kinda took a risk on! Will be coming back
I get too hangry to deal with a brunch crowd in this town so this spot is my absolute favorite neighborhood breakfast taco joint to order ahead of time and pick up. Otherwise it’s a small spot that you order at the window with like maybe 2-3 outdoor bench tables- you might not have a spot(or parking) if a running crew has made this their weekend brunch spot. This place is under rated or perhaps isn’t on people’s radar at least this location. The corn tortillas are absolutely amazing and freshly homemade! I highly recommend choosing the corn over the flour. I’ve yet to taste a homemade corn tortilla in this town that delivers that fresh corn masa goodness!! My go-to is the chorizo and eggs but all the breakfast taco are delicious and tastes like I’m back at my mom’s kitchen! I’ll even order a side a rice and nopales and egg taco every once in a while to remind me of my mom and her cooking. Love this hidden gem, it truly just a simple Mexican homestyle tacos.
Dawn breaks, and with it, the promise of an invigorating start at Vaquero Taquero, an oasis of culinary delight that punctuates the morning with an exclamation of flavor and zest. Here, within this humble sanctuary of sustenance, $3 breakfast tacos are not merely a dish; they are a revelation, a symphony of textures and tastes wrapped in the warm embrace of freshly made tortillas. Each bite is an exploration into the sublime, where the mundane alchemy of egg, cheese, and chorizo transcends, becoming a mosaic of flavor that dances upon the palate with a vivacity seldom encountered in the realm of morning fare. The chorizo, with its deep, complex spiciness, interweaves with the velvety smoothness of the eggs, creating a tapestry of taste that is both bold and comforting. But what is a morning feast without the libation of the gods? Vaquero Taquero's drinks with espresso are nothing short of liquid artistry. Each sip of their meticulously crafted espresso carries with it the vigor of a hundred sunrises, a potent nectar that awakens the senses and kindles the spirit. The richness of the coffee, sourced from beans that have journeyed from exotic locales, offers whispers of distant lands and the promise of adventures yet to unfold. The ambiance of Vaquero Taquero, with its unassuming charm, serves as the perfect backdrop to this morning ritual. It is a place where time seems to slow, allowing for a moment of reflection and appreciation for the simple yet profound joys that life offers. In sum, Vaquero Taquero does not simply serve breakfast; it curates an experience. An experience where every $3 taco is a masterpiece of flavor, every sip of espresso an invigorating embrace, starting the day not with a mere bang, but with a triumphant symphony of culinary excellence. Here, in this haven of morning delight, one is not only nourished but reborn, ready to face the day with renewed vigor and zest.
Excellent tacos and salsas. I also tried the guacamole with chips and this was equally good. Food came out quickly and fresh. The place does not have indoor seating but they do have outdoor seating with umbrellas. Food quality, flavor, service, and fresh produce was amazing. A must for the taco lovers.
Best tacos in awhile! This is the real thing, not the Americanized version. The corn tortillas were wonderful, nice shady outdoor tables, coffee trailer as well for good coffee - what more could you ask for. My taco was hot, freshly made and there is a shop attached to the taquero if you need something else to drink. I will return.
Small place on a corner with a couple of tables to sit. Service is nice and quick. Tacos al pastor al flavorful. Could use a little more protein to fill the tortilla. Their green sauce is delicious and mildly spicy. I also had a campechana that was good but it was at best lukewarm warm when served. It had a nice cheese crust and the flavor was there.
Solid. Good but not great. Is this way better than, say, Torchy's Tacos? Absolutely. Are these the best tacos I've ever had? No. But what they WERE were inexpensive, tasty, fresh and fast. And sometimes that just really hits the spot. The Al Pastor tacos were great and the pineapple agua fresa is a hidden gem for sure. Was shocked that there was no line or wait on a Saturday around 3. Would definitely come back.
Good flavor, however it would have been better if it was hot! My tortilla was not hot at all The chicken was warm enough. I has the Mole which needed a little more Mole to taste like Mole. The chicken tinga was good. A bit pricey I paid $28 for 6 tacos and a small Jamica
This was the second stop on a Taco Crawl for a group of four that we created based on Google ratings. So starting with the positives. The group all agreed that the Al Pastor was the real MVP! We tried the quesadilla and taco both using corn tortillas. The quesadilla was like nothing I'd ever had. The carmelized cheese crust seriously takes it to another level. We enjoyed the sauce which had a great kick at the end. Unfortunately everything else was underwhelming. We tried the bistec, pollo de tinga, and chicken mole all on corn tortillas. I was really excited about the mole however it didn't have a ton of character (ie. Smokey, spicy, or sweet) to elevate the protein.
