We went for lunch, and honestly, we couldn't have chosen better. The place is beautiful, very rustic. The food was fantastic. The creamy eggs with lobster and caramelized onions were exceptional. I highly recommend going. Without a doubt, if we're ever near the farm again, we'll go back!

Yesterday I celebrated my 50th birthday with my family (11 people). I couldn't be happier with the food, the venue, and the service. We went on a Sunday without a reservation. They offered us a table on the terrace. It looked like it might rain, but the umbrellas were good quality and firmly anchored to the ground. It was worth it; the service was very attentive and quick considering how busy it was. In the end, it did rain, and the poor waiters apologized as if it were their fault. Thank you for serving us and thank you for getting wet to bring us some food.

We absolutely loved it, 10/10 for everything. The cachopo was spectacular, it melted in your mouth... not to mention the torrija, incredible textures served at room temperature with ice cream. If I go back to the farm, this will be the first place I order again.

You can't miss eating at La Taberna del Pelón if you're in La Granja de San Ildefonso. The food is excellent and the service is even better. The judiones, the suckling pig, and the lamb are perfect. The best dessert is the torrija version.

Excellent in all aspects! We tried the albondigas, crema de puerros, empanadillas de perdiz, pluma Iberica, torreznos, volcan de chocolate. The albondigas was so good that our son ordered a 2nd one! All other dishes we tried were very tasty with clean flavours and quality ingredients. Service was very attentive and helpful. The chef was super accommodative and creative with our dietary requests, when we asked for no potatoes the plates didn't come out all "naked" like many other restaurants but instead with tasty vegetable/pickles. Price is very reasonable for the quality and service. Highly recommended!

What a pleasant surprise! We had several different salads, appetizers and a few of the desserts, and they were all truly excellent. The artichoke stuffed with prawns, topped with mango and caramelized onion was a true surprise. As was the frozen cheese bar, caramelized and topped with fruit coulis.

A wonderful experience at this beautiful, immaculate, restaurant so perfectly sumbolic of the beauty of Castilla. We strolled through La Granja and found many wonderful places, in fact, we had to stop at some at least just to enjoy a snack, but La Taberna del Pelon was perhaps the best. Great service, polite, professional, as is always expected. And the best part: the food. It was the season to find "Salmorejo con helado de parmesano", a type of gazpacho (not exactly, but like gazpacho it is served cold) with a delicious "ice cream" in the center that is actually a parmesan bechamel sauce... exquisite! We then shared "Judiones con boletus y conejo", those giant white fava beans known in Castilla as "little jewesses" because when Jews and Chrstians coexisted in Medieval Spain, the Christians observed that the Jews cooked these beans often. The rabbit was in delicate tastefully small cuts that permeated the dish and blended perfectly with the natural mushroom. My goodness Spanish cuisine is the best in the world, perhaps because unlike any other Mediterranean cuisine, Spain uses the ingredients themselves to create the unique flavors, rather than "disguise and dress" the flavors with disconnected spices and tricks. The decor was like being in a fable... and of course La Granja de San Ildefons is already a fable-like village to match Versaille. We were also treated with conversation, which always make a meal memorable. If you visit La Granja, top off your visit by dining at La Taberna del Pelon to make it a perfect trip.

Bastante bien para estar en Segovia y pedir comida más típica de Valencia, pescado. Lo malo es que no reservamos y estuvimos en terraza con un poco de frío, pero todo bien, muy amables en el trato. Volveremos!

Comimos 7 personas, sitio muy ruidoso pero con buen ambiente, 2 botellas de vino Emilio Moro, parrillada de verduras, mollejas, cochifrito t algo mas que no recuerdo, nada para tirar cohetes, para tapear algo esta bien, pero nada mas.

La Taberna del Pelón is one of those places you go to with the clear intention of eating well without any fuss. It has a classic tavern atmosphere, friendly service, and a menu that gets straight to the point. We started with the ham croquettes, which were good: creamy inside, perfectly fried, and not too greasy. A classic that delivers and is always a great way to whet your appetite. Next, we tried the creamy eggs with seared foie gras and a Pedro Ximénez reduction, a very enjoyable dish with a nice contrast between the intensity of the foie gras and the sweet touch of the Pedro Ximénez, well-balanced and not heavy. The main course was the roast suckling pig, cooked perfectly, with crispy skin and tender meat. My only complaint was that the salad came already on the plate, and personally, I would have preferred to serve it separately to avoid mixing temperatures and textures. Nothing serious, but a detail that could be improved. Overall, the experience was very good. Traditional cuisine, familiar flavors, and generous portions. An ideal place to go without any pretensions, enjoy a delicious meal, and leave happy. One of those places you know will never disappoint and that you always want to return to.

A great restaurant for a snack or a meal. Local classics like white beans, roasts, eggs, and stews. We had creamy eggs or poached eggs with mushrooms, artichoke, or foie gras, or scrambled eggs with potatoes and onions. Delicious. Goat cheese croquettes, meatballs, or fried pork belly. Everything was great. The service is excellent: Ismael is kind, friendly, and charming.

The food was simple but delicious. Mariela, the chef is great. We had the croquetas, then the Huevos with mushrooms and fries and the entrecôte. Everything was made from scratch, very fresh. The restaurant is rustic but cozy.

The food is nice, but the service should really be improved. Long wait for starters, and main dish, and 20 minutes to receive the check….plus the waiter lost control of the plate and several fries fell in the table (which were never cleaned), not acceptable. Go somewhere else
