Im sitting at the counter eating breakfast the morning before Thanksgiving. The kitchen is hoppin, the ladies are running around taking care of everyone. I enjoy watching everyone work. As a truck driver i want the staff to know how much we appreciate them. The good service, the amazing food. Its rare on the road these days and this place is always one of my stops.

Black Bear Diner makes a slamming country breakfast for a very affordable price. Be ready to wait a minute on a Sunday, but it's definitely worth the wait. This place invests in its kitchen staff and back of house, and it shows in the quality of the food.

This is a great diner! The food was incredible. I would highly recommend the pancakes. They were very good and fluffy. The atmosphere was very nice. Bear mascots were in the waiting area and they brought out pudding for the customers waiting. The line was quite long, but that is only a compliment to the restaurant. I would eat here again. Our waitress was very hospitable.

Stopped by Black Bear Diner in Beaumont, TX, and had a great meal. I ordered the Santa Maria Tri-Tip Dinner with lemonade and finished with the Chocolate Cream Pie — everything was tasty and well-prepared. The service was friendly, the atmosphere cozy, and the price very fair (around $26 total). I left full and happy. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a hearty, satisfying meal on the road!

Great Food, Large Portions for the Price, and Great Service. That is how I would sum up the experience at this place. They have a broad menu for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I recommend the sweet cream pancakes. They're huge and fluffy, ans you can order them anytime of day or night. But there's plenty of other great menu items. I've also had the Tri-tip Dip from here and it is good as well.

Great friendly place. Warm welcome when we walked in. Seated quickly and drinks order taken quickly by a very friendly server. Lots of choice on the menu. The food was hot, tasty and fresh. The sides were excellent. The mashed potatoes and onion rings made the meal. Large portions of food as well we had to ask for a box for our leftovers. I would highly recommend the Black Bear if you are in the area.

12-25-25 Called ahead a few days early to be sure they would be open on Christmas. We arrived at 7:15am since the hours said they opened at 6. They were not open so we made a purchase in the truckstop, and were told they would open at 8. We decided to wait in our RV. We returned at 8am and had to wait until 8:20 for the doors to be opened while it looked like staff were bagging to go orders. Once we ordered and got our food, it was delicious. We shared "The Grizz" Wife ate the pancakes and bacon, while I had the eggs, sausage and ham. We shared the side order of home style potatoes. Staff was friendly, once we made it inside

Servers are fantastic. It was extremely busy and they were focused on getting orders out. I didn’t see one customer upset at all. The servers did their jobs keeping customers happy and were very apologetic for the wait times. Which to be honest wasn’t that long. Brooke is amazing, very fast and efficient and always had a smile. All of them did. Definitely a 10 out of 10 on service this morning! As a truck driver it’s hard to find good service and good food. BB and Petro at Beaumont have done that today! Thank yall for keeping us truckers fed.

Let me start by saying I love Black Bear and always enjoy each dish I try. Today was busy and I had to wait to be seated which I don't mind, it happens. However today I was disappointed. Ashley called my friend and I to be seated. My waitress was Staci. When we sat down, Staci came to table and asked what we wanted to drink, we said coffee. No water was offered. She came back with old coffee. Ashley came back and brought our food out and we asked her if there was fresh coffee and she brought back some which was much better she also brought us condiments also. We waited a little bit for Staci to bring us silverware to eat. Afterwards she never came back to check on us. Part of my friend order was wrong but we couldn't get eye contact with her. She later came back and my friend asked her to remove item from her check, Staci thought one thing but was told what the order was supposed to be. She removed fish from table and apologized. Not once did she ask if we wanted water or needed more coffee. When she came back, she brought our tickets. My friend asked if we could have some more coffee because we were still eating, I asked about water. She came back with 1 glass of water but didn't bring any coffee. Very disappointed in the service. First time experiencing this. Ashley however was appreciated for her kindness and helping us even though she wasn't our waitress. I thanked her on the way out. Regardless of my experience, I will be back because I know this is not the norm.

The food is okay, its seems pricey but I guess when you compare it to ihop its okay. The coffee is 4.00 a cup, and it was literally so.e of the worst coffee I have ever had. They only have Pepsi products, so just FYI. We shared a meal had a coffee and soda and it was over (so 1 meal) 30.00 just to give you an idea.

Working on a job in the area and the Black Bear was where most of our time as truckers was spent. Hate leaving this review since we love the franchise but today was awful. It took ten minutes for someone to even put our name on the list. Then once we were sat, another 25 minutes passed without us even being acknowledged, much less even getting a drink order. No one said anything to us as we got up along with another customer who was in the same boat as we were. We went across the street to Cracker Barrel and had excellent service and amazing food. Very disappointed and probably wont be back to this location

How did we spend 2 hours here and 1.5 of that was just waiting. We waited to be seated which is normal for any restaurant. We didn’t mind, sat us down and waited forever to get our drinks in, then waited an hour to put our food order in and then another 30 mins to get our food. The waitress was rude and thought it was ok to make excuses as to why. We never heard a word of why. And she claims the manager was supposed to come and talk to us about the kitchen being down and not being able to put orders in. Whatever bs that is. Not taking accountability or even apologizing for it. We had two kids and they were hungry! We also let them know it was 6 of us and we got ended up being put in two separate tables and we took it so we wouldn’t wait any longer but it ended up being worse if not even more so. This was the first and last time we come here. Save your money and time
