The best, freshest, treat! Please stay open for dinner. We arrived at 7:45 PM as usual, but everything was shutting down. We all need healthy, wholesome, nutritious food throughout the day 💜.
This is my favorite taco place in the East Bay! I always get the street tacos - you get 4 tacos for $15.99. I recommend the fish, carnitas, and pollo tacos. They also have an amazing salsa bar that you self serve from for the chips that come on the side. Heads up - parking is hard to find nearby.
Came here for lunch, and it's so good. AUTHENTIC-authentic, like it's REAL, honest, full flavor Mexican food. The salsa bar is absolutely wonderful, some of the best tomatillo salsa I've had. The pumpkin salsa was unexpectedly bomb. The ceviche is WONDERFUL and not ruined with mayonnaise. Service was great and fast. Filling and flavorful, will absolutely come back when we're in the area. Forget Chipotle, go get yourself some REAL Mexican food. Your taste buds will thank you.
Great chicken mole! Beautiful flavor and tender meat. The salsa is also great. Good value considering the inflation. The only minus is that the service is about rushed. I wanted a burrito in a bowl as a messy eater but it was simply interpreted as no tortilla (I wanted to try the house made tortilla tho:3)
We had a delicious burrito and chips and a margarita to share. All of it was great! The chips and the salsa of course are the star of the show. We officially like the pumpkin seed salsa. The burrito was the mole burrito, perhaps the one thing I would suggest for improvement is the amount of meat in there. The atmosphere of course is really beautiful.
First time here and what a pleasant surprise! I ordered the ceviche verde and the crispy tilapia taco. Both were super deliciousness, super fresh ...and their 'help yourself' salsa bar is amazing with 6 or 7 varieties. I actually really love their chips and had way too many!! It's a pretty large, casual restaurant with communal tables for 2 or up to 8, where you order at the counter and wait until your buzzer alerts you, pick up your order and prepare to feast! There is a nice vibe, and the food comes out relatively quick too. Definitely going back and looking forward to trying their other tacos!!
Wow ! What can I say ? A lot ! I've been enjoying Cancun Sabor Mexicano restaurant in Berkeley California for over 22 years now ! And they still have all the same menu items that they've always had and more. But getting to my main point is my appreciation for their incredible I believe best taco in the Bay Area their Crispy Taco. I enjoy their Carne Asada, Carnitas and Chorizo types myself. They are not just super delicious with supreme quality but include as well a generous portion of ingredients. Finally they have excellent tortilla chips with an open salsa bar that is Fresh and homemade from mild to extremely spicy. Also if you like frescas their watermelon and strawberry flavours are sweet and can't be beat ! I really hope Cancun stays in business in the days to come and I plan to continue to patronize their restaurant as well. Thier menu prices are a bit high but with the quality and generous portions you get, clean inside dining area and outside patio and excellent service and fine restaurant atmosphere it is totally worth it's price as is the eating exerience as well !
Amazing over priced food . Had the vegatarion asada nachos and they didnt disappoint. Register lady was very nice but cooks stand there dogging you the whole time . How you have self serve salsa and stare me down everytime I get one .
In a nutshell; pricey but expected downtown type priced decent Mexican food The atmosphere of the establishment does indeed exude its namesake. There's a Salsa station on the side for your chips that's usually accompanied by your order or dish, but for the price, I was hoping the salsa station also has a chips station you can just grab chips alike to similar other establishments. The order looked and tasted good but I'd say doesn't really match the price, but it's to be expected as I'm sure it's expensive to upkeep any business stationed in a downtown setting. Overall neat place but I'll probably lean to trying the other establishments nearby.
Absolutely love the street style tacos for the quality and price! One of my my top spots for tacos in the area. The guacamole is a little disappointing, very watery with lots of tomatoes and onions. There is plenty of indoor seating with some outdoor seating as well. A large salsa bar. Will be returning and would recommend!
Super tasty mexican food!! I ordered an asada quesadilla and a crispy fish taco. Both came with a side of chips. The portions were way bigger than I expected so the fish taco was a meal on its own. The quesadilla was pretty standard but the fish taco was one of the best I’ve had and paired well with their mango salsa. It was super fresh and would definitely order again. The food was 5 stars but I had to bump it by 1 star due to the price. I completely understand their mission and LOVE what they do but as a student this was a splurge for me.
A friend suggested Cancun hence took my hubby there just the other day. Spacious place to begin with - cute wooden furniture with many seating options! We went on a wednesday at around 3pm so it was really empty. Staff was friendly and service was quick. Bathrooms were so clean - I love me some clean bathrooms:) Food was really good and portions were quite big. Menu has some really great options and so many veg options too. We shared chicken mole poblano burrito and grilled prawns fajitas plato. We had 4 choices of sauces and we went bit crazy with the extra hot sauce which was REALLY HOT!!! Salsas were yummy! Mole burrito was good but not the richest mole we have tried, but it had its own thing going on and definitely got stronger as we reached the bottom of the burrito where i guess it was all soaking ;). Oh and the chicken quality was really good. Grilled prawn fajitas plato was lovely and so light and quite a good amount of prawns in there. Ah, don't forget negra modelo on tap, so much better than the bottle! Price was a bit higher than what we usually pay but i guess that matches the quality of ingredients. Will definitely be back to try more from their menu :)
Basic, simple, and fresh (At least when I ordered it) Burritos. Stick with a classic and you won't be dissapointed. Al Pastor or Carne Asada. The rest of the proteins, as well as the chips (Factory made, and in crumbles) and salsa (Yawn Boring) are nothing to write home about. However, having said that, My Burrito Al Pastor has been on point every time I have ordered it. Final result: This place is neither fancy, or high end, nor a roach palace. If they got it together a little more on the food prep, and stopped trying to squeeze profits out of mundane ingredients, Flavorless beans, factory chips) they'd probably be one of the top spots. At any rate, they're reliable for a burrito that will last all day.
I ordered a burrito and soft drink, which came to $30 before tip $35 total after adding gratuity. While the food was acceptable, I don’t believe it justified the $30 price point. The service was mediocre at best, with no complimentary refills offered on soft drinks, and the burrito itself was noticeably smaller than what I’d expect for that price. For the same money, I can get a more generous portion at Chipotle just down the street, with free refills included. Given the combination of high prices, small portions, and lackluster service, I’ll be eating at corporate America owned Chipotle next time. The value proposition here simply doesn’t add up, especially when there are better options so readily available nearby.
Everything is overpriced, even for the bay - >$20 normal sized burritos - and they're incredibly stingy. You literally can't get salsa at the salsa bar until your order comes out with a tiny empty cup; there's a $1 for every additional salsa cup. Giant sign when you walk in asking you to visit more frequently and tell other people about it. Only come if you enjoy the experience of getting nickeled and dimed.
Stupidly overpriced. No mames, hit up a taco truck or something. The burrito bowl comes with like half a scoop of rice and beans. The filler is grilled veggies and even that is lacking..First and last time I'm trying this place.
dude this veggie burrito wasnt great. sry. all ingredients seem fresh and clean. but all it has in it is rice and beans. i added avo so theres avo. no salsa, sour cream, lettuce, nothing. just beans n rice. and its like $22. grilled veggies have no place in a burrito either. you guys usually put that stuff in even tho its not in the veggie description. u guys need a basic super veggie: beans, rice, avo, pico de gallo, sour cream, lettice or cabbage, jalapeno if wanted.customer shouldnt have to try to create that with a bunch of substitutions and omissions. one click a basic veggie...please!
We were around the area. Decided to stop here. Because food looked good on photos. But no! If you want or looking for tacos, this place aint it. I order the 4 tacos special of AlPastor & it was full of fat & no meat. As picture shown below. I ended up eating tacos with bean & cilantro & onions, because the so call Alpastor didnt look, taste & wasnt good at all. Not coming back. I mean if u like fat & not meat, this place will work for you. But as a mexican this place doesnt have flavor.
