Opiniones de Ocean Diner Beverly Hills
Three of us visited on Saturday night and parking was free. The staff were exceptionally helpful, welcoming and kind, the food is exquisite, thank you chef and staff for the top notch hospitality.
Went for anniversary dinner and everyone was so nice and genuine, our server Eric was the best! Thanks for making it a perfect night OP! 🥂
Service was outstanding. Valet parking is available. Had filet, seafood tower, lobster bisque, everything was good.. The drinks were amazing! Highly recommend their cocktails. Sat at bar briefly while waiting for party to show up and the bartenders couldn't have been more friendly. They really have good manners and personality.
Celebrated our 25th Anniversary at Ocean Prime Beverly Hills during our visit to LA. It was well worth it as the reviews say, everything was delicious! I started with the Chop Chop salad which was great. Then we both had filet mignon which were cooked to perfection and was so flavorful. The twice baked potatoes were creamy and cheesy, and last the chocolate cake just sealed up our night. All the employees were very nice and attentive. Thank you, we will definitely visit again!
Great food and atmosphere. The salads alone are huge. The crab cake is phenomenal. The staff are friendly and attentive. I wished we could’ve tried desert but we were so stuffed from our lunch! The bar and outdoor patio are great places to dine and take in the dnviroment.
The service here is top notch, I also love the atmosphere. Great food too
We celebrated a fitness Icons birthday on the patio with friends, epic food and beautiful environment
I enjoyed lunch at Ocean Prime last week with a friend who had just relocated to Los Angeles from London. We had reservations and were seated right away. Our waiter Tim engaged us, and learned it was our first time dining there. He offered helpful suggestions for appetizers and the main course. The entire service team orchestrated a very seamless dining experience, replacing plates and silverware and refilling beverages throughout the meal. I had the crab wedge for lunch, which was delicious, and enough leftover to take home for dinner that night. Highly recommend Ocean Prime!
Thoroughly enjoyed this place. We went for happy hour and it was so crowded we were able to get a table outside which was perfect. Wonderful ambiance and great food. Excellent service. The Black orchid drink was fabulous! Would definitely recommend this place and I will be back many times.
If you want the best place to dine, then don’t look anymore this is the place. Service with a smile, top quality meal, and fantastic ambience. I have to say this place a 10 out of 10. The price of the meals is very reasonable, International quality, a special thanks to all the chiefs and service staff well done great job. ☝️this will be the first stop when I come to Beverly Hills 😉
Celebrated my 26th birthday at Ocean Prime Beverley Hills on a Wednesday evening. The ambiance was lovely and there was even some nice live music playing while I waited for my friend to arrive. We chose to sit outside and enjoy the nice LA weather. Our waiters name was Booker and he was EXCEPTIONAL. If you’re going to eat at Ocean Prime just make sure you sit in his section, trust me. My friend ordered the filet minion with lobster Mac & cheese. While I had the Chilean Sea Bass with crabmeat & gnocci. My dish was absolutely superb and I was not at all disappointed. I was entirely too full for dessert but I definitely would have ordered the carrot cake is had room haha. I’m not sure when I’ll be back but hopefully... sooner rather than later ♥️
Came here for Dine LA restaurant week Shon was our server. He was fantastic! Kind, upbeat and bubbly. He explained the menu really well and gave us some options. The restaurant is beautiful, low lighting and a perfect place to take a date or have a business meeting. We opted for the calamari starter and the French onion soup they were both delicious. For the main they allowed us to share the filet and the sea bass both were phenomenal. The steak was cooked perfectly. For desert we shared the carrot cake and the butter cake. The butter cake was our favorite!! Highly recommend coming here!
Great food, attentive service and inviting ambience. Perfect! 10/21/22: All aspects of this restaurant are still perfect. Attended a 10-person birthday party in a private room. Most of us ordered from the Dine L.A. menu, which for $65, included appetizer, entree and dessert. Most selected the lobster bisque, filet and carrot cake but I chose the French onion soup and Chilean sea bass. Adding also sides, each dish was met with excited approval and I believed mine was the best sea bass I ever had. With plenty of cocktails and wine, this celebration will be remembered by all.
We were walking by this location of Ocean Prime, trying to decide where to eat, when we were warmly greeted by Antoine, who was so welcoming and encouraged us to stay and try the food. We're so glad we did! Our lovely waitress Payton (& the other lovely waitress whose name we didn't get) recommended the New York strip steak and the teriyaki salmon, which were both fabulous! Sam, one of the managers, brought us the most incredible butter cake dessert for our 26 year wedding anniversary and made the night truly special. We'll be back for sure. What a team and compliments to the chefs! You're amazing! ❤🙏🏼
I have been to other Ocean Prime locations and had a great meal during each of those visits, but I would say this Beverly Hills location is probably my favorite overall. The flavors were as great as I remembered and I just loved how upscale and well done the specific location is. Erik, our server, was absolutely fantastic and really made the meal a better one. Inside is especially large, open, and kept dark which is really nice because it felt like your conversation was more private. They really space out the tables so it didn’t feel like everyone was overlapping each other in terms of conversations. They don’t have a parking lot and street parking is quite hard to find in this part of town so your best option will be their valet for $15 or a nearby parking garage for $10. One of my favorite things about Ocean Prime is their large and diverse menu. There is something for everyone here. I started off with the Lobster Bisque because it’s one of my favorite bisques that I have had at any restaurant. This one was as good as all the others. Next I followed up with the Steak Tartare, and it was fantastic. The soft crostini was a great vehicle for the tartare. For my entrée, I chose the Chilean Seabass and although I wish that portion of fish was a bit larger, it still was delicious. I especially liked the truffle vinaigrette on top. I was going to do the Warm Butter Cake that I’ve had in the past, but at this point in the meal I was just too full. Overall a fantastic seafood and contemporary American restaurant in a beautiful part of town. It is a bit expensive, but it’s certainly worth it. I would recommend to anyone for any occasion.
The food is exceptional and service old school proficient and professional. I would pass on the wedge or tell them less red wine vinegar. Perfect for a business lunch as you can have a conversation easily here. Prove dining room is great for small affairs.
Great Everything! www.BeverlyHillsLIVE,com loves Ocean Prime Restaurant for the great service from staff, excellent food, great music and lots of fun!!! Salmon was cooked perfectly and so was my friend's chicken. The, atmosphere is very cool and cozy, or sunny and bright and airy! Always a great vibe 👍
I went to Ocean Prime for a birthday celebration. The restaurant is awesome! The front desk and waitress are ver welcoming and the food is definitely delightful. I didn’t expect the lobster bisque has real lobster, but it dose have big lumps of lobster tail. The bisque tastes very rich and creamy. I rate it as a must-try food. Parmesan truffle fries is a good match to the lobster bisque. Or it tastes well by itself. It has a strong truffle flavor images with parmesan cheese. Just perfect! Ahi Tuna is seated with a thin layer and the inside is fresh and sweet. The quality of side salads is very good and makes the dish even healthier. Teriyaki salmon is perfectly cooked. The salmon was moist and with rich flavor. The rice underneath with teriyaki sauce satisfied my stomach very well. Love it! I usually do not favor steaks. But the filet mignon here was delicious, tender, juicy and flavored. The white truffle caviar deviled egg is another favorite of mine. The egg yolks are very creamy, with truffle flavor. And the caviar on the top was just right. I’d like to order it again next time. Warm butter cake is a complimentary dessert for the birthday. Rich creamy taste with refreshing fruits at the bottom. The cucumber gimlet is very crispy and fresh.
I celebrated my birthday here and I had an amazing time. The ambience is gorgeous and the services were exquisite. My waiter was from Italy and had amazing recommendations, I would only want services from him, he’s that good! The food was great and so were the drinks. I had a great time and will be returning!
Loooovvvveeee!!!! So incredibly delicious! We'll always come back, wife and I both dinner here on my birthday. They really made us feel welcome and took care of anything that we needed. Very attentive service and extremely delicious food. My wife got the big filet and I got two lobster tails. Neither of us were disappointed. The buyer for the lobster tails was actually perfect. This place is very deserving of there reputation. Highly recommend!
Ocean Prime Beverly Hills We dined here for my daughter’s 24th birthday. We were greeted and seated immediately. We did make reservations. The atmosphere was amazing and our service was top tier. Our server was Sonny and he knew the menus inside and out and made great suggestions for us all even down to the drink to pair with the entree. The food was very good and brought out in a timely manner. We laughed, ate, drank and had just an overall good time. Our server Sonny went above and beyond to make sure we were all satisfied. I give this place a 10/10 and our server Sonny definitely gets a 10/10! We will definitely be back soon.
Who says Tueday nights are industry nights?! I came here with a group of friends. Confusing at 1st there are 2 sides upon arrival and it looks as if its 2 different restaurants. But its not. The right side is the cool bar area and pathway to the outdoor seating area. The left is the traditional restaurant side. OhhhhEmmmGeee! We sat on the outdoor patio, it was about 9pm, the fire was lit and there was a little rain in the forecast. I could go on and on about the atmosphere. But lets talk food now. We decided to try a lot of different things in order to really enjoy ourselves. I left feeling like my stomach was going to burst! Well worth it tho! For cocktails: I had the Berries & Bubbles the presentation was totallt worth the wait! Yummmm I also had Elderflower Elyx served in a martini glass. Again Yummmmm, but my favorite was the Berries & Bubbles. Appitizers: Ahi Tuna Tartare, simply delicious! Shrimp Saute, served with garlic cheese bread. Very tasty. Prime Steak Tartare, again simply delicious not too salty, but just right. My favorite, Ahi Tuna Tartare. Salad: Shellfish "Cobb" Salad - OHhhemmmGeee! This was beyond believe so freaking good! I NEVER knew salad would ever be so delicious. This would make being on a diet so easy if all food tasted this good. Needless to say, this was my favorite inthis category. LOL Seafood: Blackened Snapper very good abd prepared just right. Prime Steaks: 16oz Bone-in Ribeye prepared medium. Perfection, seasoned just right so you can taste the meat which was a great quality cut. Sides: Lobster Mashed Potatoes. Never heard of something like this. But so worth the try! Do it, yu will be instantly hooked! Black Truffle Mac & Cheese. You can't go wrong with an ol'classic. Except. This is a delightful upgrade to that. BIG pasta noodles, gourmet cheese and truffle?! Again, I had NO room to eat anything else except they offered us dessert. My favorite of the two, Truffle Mac & Cheese. Dessert: Warm Butter Cake - served with vanilla ice cream and a warm strawberry sauce. So think and so moist. Loved every bite. Chocolate Cake - layer after layer of chocolate. Ummmmm yeah! Ten Layer Carrot Cake - Gee wiz, don't tell my mom, but this was better than she'll ever make. My favorite, Carrot Cake! Long winded revew. But I hope it helps guide your decision. I spent a lot of excess calrioes to do the research for yu. Please take my review for it. :p
First time in Beverly Hills, and this restaurant was the best! I love their staff. They were really courteous, professional and gave us the best service. I love the food! Specially the blackened salmon salad. My husband enjoy his Blackened Snapper that he said be was speechless. We really had a great time here.
Easy parking, valet available Drinks were amazing 👏 Food was 10 out of 10,everything was delicious Service was great, staff was helpful and friendly. Fast service. I had the steak, was delicious 9 out of 10 I had the cucumber cocktail very flavorful Highly recommend, i will be coming back again.
We visited today to celebrate birthday, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere and food were impeccable—every single dish was flawless—and the service was equally outstanding. Every staff member we encountered was kind, professional, and attentive, creating a welcoming environment from start to finish. In all my time in Los Angeles, this is the first place where taste, ambiance, and service came together in absolute perfection. No cap. I would also like to express special appreciation to the distinguished gentleman who served our table today. His professionalism, grace, and attentiveness reminded us why having a server is such a valuable part of dining. He provided us with a genuinely meaningful and memorable experience. This review is not written for any rewards or benefits—it is purely out of sincere gratitude for an evening that exceeded all expectations.
My friend took me here for a little birthday lunch and while service was a bit slow, The food was amazing! We got to sit outside, and it was a beautiful day. The butter cake is amazing and a must have! Filet mignon delicious! My friend had the soup and salad and she said she liked it!

As crazy as it sounds, we stumbled upon this place while waiting the horrible traffic to go home. The bar was lit, the Dodgers were on, the drinks were smoking, literally. We were dressed super casual, but still felt okay to jump in We sat down at a table on the heated patio and the fun began. Our server, I believe her name was Amanda, made excellent recommendations throughout the evening including wine, cocktails, and dinner. She did not miss on a single recommendation! My wife could not stop talking about the black cod. I make it at home and the fact that she was raving about it here means it must have been fabulous ! It wasn't until the bill came that we realized we were at Ocean Prime! Yes, Ocean prime can be a little pricey, but it's not hard to figure out why. It is still an excellent value. Believe it or not. Can't wait to go back on purpose LOL
This restaurant is located in Beverly Hills, where I always find it hard to decide where to eat—but I’m so glad I came here. The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere, both inside and outside, felt intimate and upscale without being overly large. I came alone, but every staff member was so attentive. They checked on me often, refilled my water immediately, and made sure I felt comfortable the whole time. Most importantly, the food was outstanding. I usually avoid bread or fried food since I prefer healthier options, and since this place specializes in seafood, I was able to enjoy fresh and flavorful dishes that felt light yet satisfying. I heard this restaurant was also featured during LA Food Week, but honestly, it deserves praise even without that kind of recognition—I highly recommend it. I ordered the sea bass, Cobb salad, East Coast oysters, and finished with the butter cake. At first, I thought I might have ordered too much, and I almost packed some to-go when I started feeling full. But once the sea bass arrived and I tasted it, I couldn’t stop eating—it was that good. The oysters were fresh, clean, and perfectly handled, and the Cobb salad came generously topped with lobster, which was a pleasant surprise. And the butter cake—warm and fluffy with ice cream melting on top—was simply heavenly. This time I dined solo since my husband was away on a business trip, but I can’t wait to come back with him next time. Huge thanks to the servers and staff for making me feel so well taken care of. If you’re visiting California on a beautiful day, don’t just settle for any place! treat yourself to a real gem like this one. 🤪🤪🤪🥰🥰🥰

Our second visit to this location and we thoroughly enjoyed it again. Happened to be during Dine LA restaurant week so we benefited from an amazing value for the 8oz Filet, salad, and their famous butter cake desert. The lobster linguine was the second entree. Everything was prepared to perfection and service was impeccable. Fine dining at its best.
Love this place! The place is a vibe and the staff is attentive and nice. Got there pretty early. We didn't have a reservation so we sat the lounge area. It's was still Happy hour. There was a $10 drink menu do I had the Black Orchid. It was delicious!! I got the ahi tuna and it was prepared perfectly. The creamed spinach was good also. I highly recommend. My friends both got the steak and it was definitely to their liking. Their sides were the twice baked potato and jalapeno a Potatoes. Seasoned nicely.
Was there for dinner with my BF and we got the best experience we have had in LA. It was both our birthdays and Simon and Fidel were incredibly amazing. If not for the food I would absolutely go back just for the service. The food was AMAZING! I had king crab legs, they come peeled and hot with butter. My Bf had fillet mignon which was cooked to perfection. Truffle fries and garlic mashed and garlic popcorn was so good too. Simon also got us dessert for our birthdays. We’ve been in Cali for about a week and this place has the best food so far and the best service. The place is beautiful with an ambience and the rest of the staff were very kind as well. Highly recommend. We will be back!
The service was slow and unattended, and the food was good but not great. I had the Taste of LA menu option with salad, entrée, and dessert. The French onion soup I had was salty but flavorful. The salads were basic but also good . The Sea Bass was hot, but the flavor missed being delicious, but it was acceptable. The famous butter cake was good, but the tiny scoup of vanilla ice cream on top was better used to moisten the hard round biscuit of butter cake than eat it as a flavor. Throughout all of this was a very inattentive waiting staff. We had to ask for everything like water, more water, salt and pepper, sauce for the sushi appetizers (fishy and not that great), asked to pay for more bread but they ran out of their famous sour dough. My family had made a reservation for my birthday, and we waited 20 minutes past our reservation time to sit, and another 20 minutes before they came to take our drink order. Maybe you'll get a better experience, maybe I was looking forward to this meal too much and had expectations, but this place let me down in a lot of little ways. The highlight was the alcohol and I found my one drink, my old fashion to be very well mixed. My wife's house red was very delicious. The restaurant has a lovely outside area, however you must be prepared for a series of sirens from police, ambulance, and fire vehicles at least 3 times an hour while dining outside. We were surprised seeing so many little children at the restaurant, along with lots of people in sweats and very casual clothes that diminished the ambiance. Overall the experience outside was pleasant because the heater kept everyone warm, and the pillows were nice.
22 oz wagyu ribeye special for $160: good but didn't like the seasoning; way too much pepper. And a bit tougher than expected. I've had better ribeyes in LA for half the price. Truffle mac and cheese: too much pepper again. And the noodles more al dente than I'd like. Lobster bisque delicious; one of the best soups I've ever had. Bread basket is great (especially the pretzel bread) Gouda tater tots are fire Butter cake dessert is fire. Carrot cake overrated (I prefer a sweeter icing and more moist overall). EXCELLENT service. Only thing that blew me away was the bisque, hence 4 stars.
Overall the experience at Ocean Prime was good. Our salads were very good and the meat was tender, however, much of the food lacked any substantial flavor. Unlike the mains, the sides were very tasty and I definitely recommend getting the bacon creamed spinach. The service was rather laid back/casual. They checked in on us a few times during our meal but we still felt a little rushed. The other thing I noticed was the lack of communication in the kitchen. When we ordered drinks, one of our drinks was not available, however, it wasn't until much later that the server notified us of this. As a result, I didn't receive my drink until after my apps and 5 mins before our main arrived. These aren't big issues, however, given the price point of this restaurant, the service fell short of expectations. The atmosphere was lovely. They had a live band playing jazz music in the bar section which could be heard from the outdoor patio. We were seated in the best spot on the patio allowing us a great view of the band and the scenery.
Their desserts are some of the best in LA. The carrot cake is awesome, as is the chocolate and peanut butter mousse. My last dinner there left me wanting, however, as the service was sub par and my steak was very rare when I had ordered medium rare. Overall, though it's a solid 4 stars for me.
I came here this week for a light dinner and drinks with a friend. Our server, Snir, recommended one of the house cocktails which was awesome, as was his friendly service! He explained the menu and answered all our questions -- even suggested the sushi bar, which was the perfect choice for us. We felt very taken care of, but never overwhelmed. Nice outdoor atmosphere and it also offers a beautiful indoor dinning, yet that seemed like the dead spot of the place. Would be nice for an intimate dinner though.
This weekend I visited @oceanprimebh, a classy steak and seafood restaurant in the heart of Beverly Hills. For starters, I had the Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli appetizer with golden mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes and a garlic butter sauce. This dish was the shining star of my dining experience. The creamy goat cheese combined with the other ingredients delivered the perfect flavor and texture combination. It was so satisfying I wish I had ordered more. For my main course, twin lobster tails with drawn butter and asparagus. While the lobster was cooked well, the flavor was lacking. It needed the lemon and butter to bring it to life. My sides included a scrumptious, creamy black truffle mac n cheese, roasted carmalized brussel sprouts and broccoli and cauliflower. For dessert, a warm butter cake with fresh mixed berries, vanilla ice cream and a raspberry sauce. The cake itself was tasty, but dense, and not as moist at the center as I would have liked. The fresh berries and sauce helped elevate the dessert overall. While there were some definite slam dunks, the ravioli and mac n cheese, there were also several misses. Definitely worth trying once. Service was fantastic! I've never had such attentive wait staff. That's honestly bumping this review up to a 4. Everything was tasty, but it was also very saucy - too much sauce on everything, and the flavors themselves weren't subtle enough. We ordered the calamari, which felt Korean- inspired from the sauce they put on top, and the thinly sliced carrots and chives. Too much flavor going on from the sauce- I felt like I was eating Korean chicken wings. We had the surf and turf, which was really tasty - my favorite, but it was also drizzled in too much sauce. Then we had the lobster mac n cheese, which was delicious. All in all, the food didn't feel worth it for the price. But the drinks here are so yummy!!! A++ for the drinks! Cucumber gimlet - will be coming back for that one someday.
The ambience was impeccable. The customer service and wait staff was good. We were served by Naomi. She was polite, respectful, knew the menu - we ordered several items: Chilean sea bass, king crab, crab cakes, deviled eggs, steamed spinach, corn, Caesar salad, and dessert. The main reason l am giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because the service was a bit spotty. Nevertheless, l would definitely be back.
Pretty good choice for lunch in close proximity to Rodeo Drive, and other businesses. I walked in without a reservation on a Thursday afternoon and was seated immediately. My waitress was quite pleasant, and as for the food, it was what I was expecting, however while it was good there are certainly better places in the neighborhood.
For service this place is 10/10! There were so many people helping to serve , they are friendly, calm, very observant to everyone’s needs. The food came out quickly. The only downside was the seared tuna was a little cold when it came out. Also some potatoes were a little burnt and had a bitter flavor. The dessert— butter cake— was a nice warm pound cake. They gave me a free desert for my celebration which was a lovely touch! Creme brûlée was so light and silky! French onion soup was large enough for a meal! Overall everything was good. Would come back.
We had a great dinner here last night! I was a little skeptical as it had just opened but everything was delicious! We were a party of 4 and everyone loved what they ordered. The appetizers were awesome and made me have high hopes for the rest of the meal but it just didn't deliver. I got the truffled deviled eggs and he got the lobster bisque--both were delicious! I feel bad leaving a not very positive review since the staff was SO nice and I think that as new restaurant they are still working out the kinks, but I went here based on the face that it was supposed to be a hot new restaurant based on a eater's guide, so if nothing else, I expect the food to be exceptional and it just wasn't. All in all, it was a great evening. Love the staff (minus the cocktail mix-ups) and the patio was a wonderful dining setting. Inside bar (i spent too much time at) was energetic and a loud (in a good way... vibrant and even jubilant with locals)
Enjoyed dinner outside on their makeshift patio created due to the pandemic. It was a bit noisy which is at no fault of ocean prime. I have been here pre pandemic and it was fantastic. This was a Friday night and it was quite busy. Wasn’t wowed by the sea bass. My plate was beautifully presented but was bland. The peanut butter dessert was exactly how I remember it. To die for! Definitely recommend.
Great overall experience, steak was cooked perfectly and the service was outstanding. Our only complaint is paying for bread. The prices are high enough and we spent about $400. No need to charge customers for bread, it's a tacky move.
This is a beautiful restaurant with an amazing atmosphere offering an array of seafood dishes. I ordered the Chilean Seabass with Brussel sprouts and the filet mignon with a lobster tail. The seabass was cooked and seasoned perfectly and had great flavor. The portion size was more than generous and was priced accordingly. The interior of the fillet was cooked as ordered, however, the outside was slightly over charred but it did have flavor. I did find the lobster tail a bit salty, which, did impact its overall flavor. The staff was great and appeared to work in unison as one team throughout the evening. My server was personable and very attentive during my dining experience, which was very much appreciated. The restaurant is large and has rooms for groups wanting a bit of privacy. Underground secured (pay) parking is available and is within walking distance of the restaurant but they don’t validate.
Ocean Prime Seafood and steak spot in Beverly Hills with relaxed outdoor patio. Came here with my family and boyfriend for an early Sunday dinner, and made a reservation online in advance. It was a holiday so they didn’t have their usual Sunday deal, so we split the calamari, Ocean Prime house salad, fries, and jalapeño au gratin. My boyfriend and I split the ribeye for our entree. They gave us complimentary bread (sourdough and pretzel) and those came out fresh from the oven. The butter cake with ice cream that we split at the end was the cherry on top. I particularly liked the calamari (though the portion was on the smaller side). The jalapeño au gratin was not spicy at all - there was just one jalapeño in the entire dish. We asked for the steak to be medium rare but it was a tad overcooked; I preferred the scallops that my sister ordered more. Overall, it was a nice meal to share and it’s a restaurant that’s good for special occasions.
The food was delicious and top notch but the service was underwhelming. It took 30 minutes to receive our drink orders and the waiter made several mistakes including our orders which was disappointing for a high end restaurant. Just can’t be having subpar service if you want to be considered a top quality restaurant.
We went last night to celebrate my nephews birthday. I can’t complain about the food; everything was delicious. However, I would like to comment the following. When one walks into a fine dining establishment where they’re about to pay upwards of $800 for dinner, there are certain expectations, especially in a ‘sceney’ part of town like Beverly Hills. The hostess that greeted us was shocking in appearance. She looked like she had rolled out of bed. Her very casual clothes were ill fitting and her shirt didn’t cover her protruding belly. She had no makeup on and her hair was tied back in a messy bun. I was truly shocked. Sorry Ocean Prime but first impressions are everything and I was definitely not impressed. Do better if you want to charge $160 for a steak.
We came for a birthday dinner not knowing they had some Dine LA specials for $65 (the only steak option was a filet for $80). The ribeye steak was pretty decent - a little bit undercooked for a medium rare, but still overall pretty decent. The jalapeño gratin was good. The deviled eggs were delicious, although there isn’t enough caviar to taste it (expected given the price). The calamari was very sweet. The house salad was plain. The Gouda tots were undercooked. The truffle Mac and cheese had an excellent flavor but the sauce was a bit gritty, not smooth. The warm butter cake was insanely dry and flavorless. Definitely pass on that. The carrot cake was better, but still dense and dry. I’ll preface the rest of this review by saying I’m not really one to send food back or really even say anything about the food if it’s palatable. I’ll typically just eat the food and not come back. The sea bass on the Dine LA menu was absolutely horrendous and underseasoned. It genuinely didn’t even taste like it was salted. I ended up asking for a bearnaise sauce to make it edible. It still wasn’t great. We felt our server give us some attitude at the beginning of the meal, but it did get better later on. She gave us a daily special, which included wagyu, and I asked her if it was American wagyu, Australian wagyu, or Japanese wagyu, and she didn’t know… strange to not tell your servers at a steakhouse which one it is. Overall, it wasn’t all bad, but we spent $620 at the restaurant. It isn’t worth coming back.
My birthday dinner at Ocean Prime was just okay, which is disappointing considering how beautiful the restaurant is and how much potential the evening had. What really upset me was finding out they accept 9 p.m. reservations even though they close at 9. I assumed, like most fine dining places, that the kitchen would stay open for guests seated at that time so we could actually enjoy the meal. Instead, we arrived to find the restaurant nearly empty, with staff already cleaning. From the start, it felt rushed. The best part was our waitress, who was incredibly sweet, friendly, and thoughtful. She even gave me a hug when we were leaving, which meant a lot. Her service alone deserves five stars. The restaurant itself is stunning with a great atmosphere, but the food didn’t live up to the setting. We ordered the steak and lobster prix fixe meal. The lobster was served plain with no garlic butter, lemon, or seasoning, which made it underwhelming. The steak was the biggest disappointment. It came pre-cut, which left it dry and lukewarm by the time it reached us. There was a dark glaze served as a dipping sauce, but it didn’t pair well with either dish. A simple garlic butter would have complemented both much better. What shocked me most was being charged for my own birthday dessert. I’ve celebrated birthdays at restaurants every year for 33 years and have never once had to pay for a dessert, not even at casual places. To experience that at one of the most expensive restaurants I’ve ever been to felt especially off. The dessert was well over twenty dollars, which felt unnecessary after spending more than two hundred on dinner. We were the last table left, but we weren’t dawdling. I even asked for my dessert to be packed to go so we could leave quickly. Our waitress kindly insisted on bringing it with a candle so I could at least have that moment, and I appreciated her effort. Still, with staff cleaning all around us and a manager standing nearby, it was hard to feel comfortable. Even though we finished within an hour, it felt like we were keeping everyone from closing up. The space is undeniably beautiful, and the service from our waitress was exceptional, but everything else felt rushed, overly corporate, and surprisingly unwelcoming for such a high end restaurant. It didn’t feel like a birthday celebration, just a dinner that ended too quickly. I left feeling deflated and decided to plan another dinner later in the week to try to salvage the feeling of a birthday that never really happened
I wish I could give them more stars because the food was soo great but the service was horrrrrrendous. We decided to come by to try the happy hour and maybe taste a thing or two on the dinner menu. Hostess was great, we picked a high table, we were greeted by our server and needed more time to pick a drink. Took a normal amount of time to come back and ask again. We ordered a glass of wine, great $8. Came back dropped them off and left. Took about another 30 to even come back and ask us what we wanted to eat. Oh but I can tell you the whole conversation our server, another server and one of the bartenders were having about dating, short girls, tall girl..... what she think he thinks...... blah blah blah. Everything but working Finally came by, we ordered and I asked for the dinner menu. Food came out right away. Conversation continued with the co workers. I doubt this happens if you actually have a table. Finally came back! We ordered an 8oz fm because we wanted to see how tasty it was to come back another night. Came out perfectly, it was delicious. Do we get bread? Some kind of sauce? Instead of talking can you take our other plates? Or are we a bother to your conversation?? Pssshhhh My friend had to finally give her the weirdest face and speak to here with a little loudness to get the freaking check!!!!!!! Anyways the steak was amazing like I said. -The calamari is great. It's not dry so it's a bit different than usual -the oysters are a steal for $1 what!!!!! -the lobster roll was alright, nothing crazy. -sashimi was fresh and delicious, nothing crazy either lol. If I ever come back I'm gonna make sure to sit outside or reserve a table so we don't have to hear people's loud conversations, and actually get some food. The venues great. Ambiance is chill
Hello I had came for an anniversary dinner with me and my partner , we were pretty patient about the wait time since you guys were packed but we did wait a hefty time before even ordering food. I was hoping to get my surprised for my partner , the little dessert that’s offered but we never got it .it was just straight to the check and pay. I was a bit disappointed about that, I also had ordered the scallops which looked amazing at first but as I was eating it each other the four scallops I had was very grinding and it felt like I was chewing on sand, it was gross it felt like I was actually eating pebbles. Appetizers were great, my partners meal was great I just wish the main part of me coming was to surprise my partner with the dessert and end the night on a good note, spending almost near 200 dollars I was hoping for it. I don’t know if I’ll ever come back experience felt like we were neglected, anniversary dinner wasn’t as great as I hope it would be, I just didn’t get that upscale experience that I was hoping: we are coming from Seattle we’d had hope that it would be an amazing experience since we don’t have an ocean prime in Washington. I got an amazing feedback from the regional manager yuri and we can’t wait to come back to LA to redo this experience thank you again !
We arrived for our 6:45PM booking 10 minutes early our table wasn't ready and we were asked to wait in the bar or waiting area and the team would come and get us once the table was ready. We went to the bar in full visibility of the check in desk and ordered a glass of wine each it took just under 10 minutes for service so not too bad. We checked back with the desk at 7:05pm to get an update only to be told they couldn't find us and had given our table to another party but would find us another table shortly. We finished our drinks and thought we will go through to the main desk so we are visible. Went to the bar to pay the bill only to be told they don't have pay wave tap and go. This was a surprise and luckily we had some cash to cover the bill as we didn't have a credit card with us. We travel a lot all round the world and have not had this issue before so maybe our fault. Went back to the main desk and checked progress and told sorry no table available as yet. We enquired about payment methods and had to cancel the booking. The guy at the front desk didn't really care or show any interest and was quite rude. We have dined at Ocean Prime at other locations and always have had an amazing experience but our LA experience was nothing short of awful.
First time to this restaurant with my wife. Upon arrival we parked in front looking for the valet but there was only one guy standing there in front not saying anything. We had to get out the car and ask. So now he informed us that valet is down the street. So we had to get back into our car and drive about 80 to 100ft up the street. I'm just saying this guy at the front could have directed us to the right area before we exited our vehicle. Once we walked into reception, there was a customer being help but there was 5 other people working there just standing there doing absolutely nothing, just looking at each other. After a few minutes I mentioned to my wife that there are 6 people there, so why won't anybody help us? Someone must have heard what I said so then they helped us. Once inside the atmosphere was nice but the food was not what I expected. I paid $57 for one piece of Red Snapper fish. It was so disappointing, was tasteless and low quality. I know my fish and this fish was something like from a fast food joint. Maybe in the future I will return to try other things on the menu but it will be a while.
My last visit wasn’t pleasant. The waiter asked for my ID (no huge deal) I was with my 12 year old son, and showed him a picture of it my ID and inform him I can get it from my car if absolutely necessary. He proceeded to say just bec I have a 12 year old, doesn’t mean I am over 21…. Alright then! After the awkwardness, I went to get my ID bec I really wanted to enjoy a cocktail on my date lunch with my son. The waiter enthusiasm and energy didn’t change even after present proof I was over 21.
The vibes the food is usually good. My last experience the butter cake was dry and half cooked. My mac and cheese took an hour to come. The waiter was slow and aloof. The crowd was ghetto and loud just classless..Then a woman had her dog at the table with dog hair flying everywhere...I was repulsed beyond return.
The place is nice but i had came during lunchtime wanting to order off the lunch menu I was told it wasn’t available but my fiancée noticed the table behind us was ordering off the lunch menu. very weird but the food was good I guess. It would’ve been nice to be treated fairly.
