Walking home from dinner, we passed this rocking bar and stopped in for a drink (or three) Really good staff, great atmosphere, lot’s of friendly locals if you want a chat. Beer and wine only, just so you know but good choices. A fun place for a casual drink. Didn’t eat but the burgers looked good.

It's cool! I'll Give it 5 stars because the owners are trying! However the place can get a bit rough at night. Security is worthless. But again the owners are good people and trying. The city needs to step up police patrol

Busy bar! The staff there are friendly, busy and fast. Our food came in less than ten minutes after we ordered world famous cheeseburgers. They were delicious and came with very fresh pepperoncinies and a bag of chips. Medium amount of drink options but better than average. There is a pool table and several TVs around the bar inside. There is also ample patio room and is private with a bamboo fence (private but not good for people watching). One small downside was that the bathrooms were tiny. If we return to this area again we will be eating here for sure !

Only spent one night in Venice Beach. It was my first visit and I had to visit this historic dive. As dive bars go, Hinano does not disappoint. A lively crowd and Thursday night football on the TVs. We tried the cheese steak sandwich. Not the greatest, but quite good. Excellent bakery fresh roll and well cooked. Fries were great. Went back for breakfast the next day since it was in walking distance to our hotel. Had the bacon and eggs, fabulous hashbrowns, all well cooked, large portions and the bacon was just right. I will tell you, do not order the OJ. It comes in a can and tastes very weird and not much like oranges. I will go back the next time I'm in Venice.

It has become a little bit of a weird combination of gangster and posh hot chicks and well to do career minded people here, but in some way it's perfect. Grab a burger and beer and snack on popcorn while you challenge someone to pool, dance to the music right there in the down to earth part of Venice, what else can you ask for?

First, cash only!! They do have an atm on-site. No fries but the killer burgers completely make up for that. I got the cheddar bacon burger with a hotlink and loved it!! Bartenders and the cook were friendly and the atmosphere was great. If you're in the area, check um out. Won't be disappointed

this is one of the oldest spots in the area that hasn't been torn down and rebuilt as some overpriced horrible wannabe modern beach club. it is the coolest chillest down to earth spots where you can order a nice cold beer and a damn good burger to satisfy your belly. sure it's a locals spot but fear not... if you got the good vibes you will be getting the good vibes back. HINT: bacon is a must on your burger also BRING CASH! this spot don't take any plastic.

By the time I had come in, I had a strong case of the drunchies so I could say my review is biased. My friend let me know the grill has never been cleaned (urban legend or not) the place was ran like a bar should be. A bunch of people talking sports and life, welcoming bartender, and Cheetos. Here's what gets interesting, I met this guy who claimed to be 50 but looked 28. Taken back, I questioned this but his knowledge of previous events showed he knew a lot about times long past..Is it the salt water? The burgers, or is it the beer? As I feel the hair thin on my scalp, I anxiously now wonder if the fountain of youth exists, and where in MDR is it? I've spent $$$ driving a BIRD around MDR aimlessly and yet to find the fountain, alas I"ll keep searching. I remember holding the burger, smelling it, and shoveling the warm meal into my mouth. I can't actually speak to the taste because my taste buds had disappeared after a night of drinking - but I would recommend it.

Iconic locals bar with a rich history right off the pier. Famous for their cheeseburger, it’s prepared to order on a flat top grill behind the bar. The grill chef doesn’t stop all day. There are 10 or so beer taps with solid commercial and local choices. You can sit inside or outside and drink pints or pitchers of beer on the bar. There are 2 pool tables, several TVs positioned around showing all sports. They have live music on the weekends. You will meet a mix of locals and tourists, it’s a very friendly atmosphere. Oh, and the bar staff are awesome. A personal favourite.

This place is AWESOME!!! Mostly locals but also popular with visitors in the know. However, if you don't like great atmosphere, fantastic staff, dozens of beers on tap, unbeatable food, great prices and a dynamic clientelle, you need to change. Last time I had breakfast there I was chit chatting with a bunch of Mongols, (very nice guys), and then played pool w an ADA. Live music on the weekends, and fun every other night of the week. You just don't find places as cool as Hinanos very often. Post Script: I initially gave a 5 star rating. But I'm lowering it all the way to 3 stars. Apparently, even if one spends thousands of dollars here over time, one ought not ask for water on multiple occasions, nor should one exchange banter with some staff because you may get threatened with being 86'd from the place. (You can banter with Carlos, he's cool). So, if you like hydrating yourself with water, perhaps it would be best to go elsewhere. Post post script: it was proly the lack of a tip for water that irritated some. I can see that. Back to FIVE STARS for the Café!!!

all is right in the world when you’re sitting at the bar with your friends, playing pool listening to some music and you have a beer a burger and some laughs. This is one of my favorite things to do during the week or especially on the weekends. The vibes are typically right although there are some days where the crowd can get a little rowdy but we’re by the beach what do you expect? Also topic of cleanliness— not the best but it’s tiny, you kinda can tell before going but still awesome. I would recommend to go there you want to conclude your night maybe play some pool and grab a drink while traffic is dying down there’s usually some entertainment outside at the same time. i’m not sure if you got the purpose of this post but it is to get a burger so make sure to get the burger. The chili is good too but just do yourself a favor and get yourself a burger. Don’t expect any fries you get some chips, a pickle and some peppers but get yourself a burger. enjoy!

Sat outside this morning on a beautiful day before heading home to NYC. Really good western omlette served with potato hash and toast $9 50! Friendly and efficient service, my breakfast came within minutes. So good.

Great bar with live music Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Nice mixed crowd of all ages. There are even 3 pool tables played non stop in the evening. Good atmosphere, friendly staff and the hamburgers are good( there's even a vegetarian burger).

Mere steps away from the Venice Pier and Boardwalk. This is a place where I either run into someone I know... or get into trouble... both equally fun. And occasionally, if you're lucky enough, you might say find some big burley, biker types singing along to the Monkees on the nukebox

Highly recommended for drinks and delicious burgers! Very high quality and attention to detail. Looked up this location while looking for a late lunch spot and very satisfied and glad I found it. It is cash only so be prepared with that but it is a minor inconvenience to some great burgers.

Great little rock bar right near Venice beach. Prices are pretty average compared to other bars we've been to on/near Venice beach. As mentioned, the bar has a rock theme and there was a live band playing rock n roll classics whilst we were there. When the band weren't playing there was classic rock playing through the sound system, so don't go expecting anything else. If that's your scene you'll really enjoy it. There isn't a huge amount of seating so you may end up stood.

TV’s are always on, pool tables in the back, walk up bar. decent menu, good beer selection, and the most important thing, locals! We bumped in to a group glued to the ball game who had clearly been there for hours, and were quickly flanked by a 30 year veteran of the bar who shared its Hollywood secrets. Hinano Cafe is a Venice classic just steps from the beach and it feels like a place that hasn’t tried to reinvent itself, which is part of the appeal. This is old-school Venice through and through. Surfboards overhead, a jukebox in the corner, pool tables, free popcorn, and yes, sawdust on the floor. The atmosphere is fine, but not special. It’s more gritty than charming, and while that works for many people, it’s not a place you come for ambiance alone. That said, the food delivers. The cheeseburger lives up to its reputation: simple, juicy, well seasoned, and exactly what you want in this setting. Breakfast and sandwiches are solid as well, and prices feel fair for the location. Nothing is trying too hard here, and that’s a good thing. Service was genuinely good. Friendly, efficient, and relaxed without being sloppy. Even when it’s busy, the staff keeps things moving and makes you feel welcome, which is why so many locals keep coming back. Hinano is the kind of place you stop into after the beach, grab a beer, and settle in without expectations of polish. It falls just short of five stars because the atmosphere is more functional than great, but the food, service, and authenticity make it an easy four-star spot and a true Venice institution.

This was a great spot to stop after a long bike ride for a beer and some burgers. The staff were all really nice, from the bouncer to the bartenders to the server. They treated us like we were a part of the neighborhood. They have a great outdoor patio area where we really enjoyed people watching and soaking up some sun. We had a turkey burger and regular cheese burger, very reasonably priced which we appreciated. I liked that the burgers came with all the accoutrements in abundance, and it came with a bag of chips and banana peppers on the side. The burgers were reminiscent of fast food because of the sesame seed buns and thin style patties. Were these the best burgers I’ve ever had? No, but they were perfectly satisfying for the moment, and the ambience and service made up for it.

It is a very small restaurant with inside and outside seating. Unfortunately the day we were there, we sat outside and it was extremely windy so a lot of the sand from the beach was flying past us as we ate. It was a very happening place. I believe there was live music while we were there. (inside). You had to place your order at the bar and they did deliver it to your table. The only alcohol they serve here is wine and beer. My husband and I both had a burger, which was very delicious but greasy so be prepared to be messy. Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures of our food as we had to hurry up and eat it due to the sand blowing, but the added pictures are of the area in which the restaurant is located.

This place felt odd for a *beach bar. Maybe it's just the difference between coastal community cultures, Florida vs Cali? I was disappointed that while it is just a short walk, you couldn't really see the beach from the bar. I'm used to walking straight from the beach into the bar, sandy flip flops and all. This is very much a local dive, didn't feel touristy in the least. Ordered a couple Topa IPAs and eventually a cheeseburger. They were slinging so many I just had to get one myself. Not sure what made them 'world famous', looked and tasted like standard food service patties. But they're cheap and decent so no complaints. The oddly iridescent peppers on the side gave me a bit of pause. And no fryer so chips, and I mean Lays, not UK chips. It sounded like the bar staff and some of the customers were from the UK. They have free popcorn, plus pool tables and some outdoor seating, but I'd stick with the inside. You're basically in the street if you sit outside, and weather and views didn't warrant that excursion.

I came in tonight and the guy behind the bar was very nice but the other two ladies working the bar had majorrrrr attitude and weren't friendly AT ALL. I'm thankful for the guy being there tonight because otherwise it would have been a horrible experience. The low rating is specifically for the two ladies behind the bar. Otherwise, everything else was totally fine tonight. I guess I'll just have to make sure that I frequent the bar when those two aren't there.

just tried to place an order online and via phone, and doordash. woman with zero people skills answered and spent half of the brief call talking over me saying she’s “really busy.” so … at 1205pm on Black Friday, can’t pay for food via credit card over the phone, no delivery and an extremely unpleasant lady bitterly answering the phone (a number not even listed on their website). too bad, was looking forward to the cheeseburger.

Had a terrible experience last night at this place. The security guard with long black hair and a beard was unprofessional by lying to customers, making nasty comments about the ladies, rude and unwelcoming to the fellas. Don’t recommend it!

We went down here for lunch bday of my husband today. It wasn’t pleasant the waitress this after just like she just got up from the bed. She even bother brushing her hair. I couldn’t even understand what she saying. My husband has a camera also she told us her boss won’t let us take a vedeo. But where not taking a vedeo. My husband is a photographer. He just taking some cook staff like sign and everything. This waitress acting like she have a hang over. Food doesn’t really speacial. Just junk chips and lorw of onion chili LOL….

TOURISTS BEWARE!!! This place takes advantage of tourists. Staff was so creepy to my girlfriend. Security was aggressive and rude. Burger was overwhelmingly subpar and expensive. Save your time and your money!! Dont get fooled like i did!
