I’ve never felt more welcome at a pub, Ray the bartender is a god amongst men.
Ray is fabulous!! Feels like the neighborhood bar that it is! 👍
I have been coming here for over 20 years and will continue to support the buisness.
Great bar for before/ after games or concerts at MSG
Loved it..doesn't get any better .. pints n chat
It was NFL draft night and they were packed. The bartenders did a great job taking care of us despite their crazy crowd.
What a brilliant find! Fantastic beer and food where the staff are so friendly. Thank you for making our stay in New York even more fantastic. Special thanks the Kayla who was just awesome xx
Stopped in for a quick mid day drink. Clean with a good cozy bar vibe. Would definitely come back!
Still a great pub!! Mike the bartender is amazing, great atmosphere and one of the few remaining bars with a buy back!!! Outstanding and would recommend!!!
Visited while waiting for my family at a Broadway show and a concert. Had a fantastic time with the staff and other visitors at the bar. Outstanding service.
This place was a great place to watch the World Cup! We got there early, brought Sbarro pizza in with us, got some drinks and had a great time!
Nice place to have drinks near Madison Square Garden. Friendly staff and reasonably priced. Good selection of liquid treats.
My favorite must go to bar in the neighborhood. Never disappointed. Say hi to Uncle Tony for me
I volunteer with a charity (House of Good Deeds) which does food rescue. The Celtic Rail stepped up and donated hundreds of sandwiches to community members in need, including and especially our healthcare workers. Please support them!
We always call in wherever we're in the City. Friendly bar staff, great value! Right in the doorstep of MSG. Great for a drink before the game or a concert.
The drinks were very good the place was very clean & the service is excellent i would definitely go back there again for drinks before i go to a MSG for a show.
Bartender, owner, and staff all great.
Ray is the most hospitable man on God’s green earth. The only thing that beats the drinks, is the relaxing environment and nice conversation with Ray❤️❤️❤️
Best pub in Manhattan, BETTER THAN THAT ! Best pub in NYC , A huge thank you to Mike and Ray for there hospitality. Can’t wait to visit again next year 💙🏒🥅🇺🇸
Home of the wooks! best spot, pre and post game. wish the upstairs was open. Those Blarney daze were the best!
Always pop in here before games
Excellent atmosphere, great staff, right beside the Madison square garden and LIRR.
Great service great atmosphere highly recommend this bar before and after Madison Square Garden!
No Kitchen @ the moment. But the drinks & draft beer. Make up for it...🍺🍺🍺. A must visit venue. Stop by and say hello to Oli the bartender.
Best place in midtown especially if you have a train or event at penn station or MSG. You will not be disappointed. Support local business.
Great place to go after a rangers game, it can get crowded but they always get to you.
Great experience right before returning to Penn Station. The bar tender, Jason , is upbeat and friendly. Definitely recommend.
I've been here before- great pub food, friendly service, terrific Irish pub atmosphere. My first visit, I reviewed it as one of the best burgers I ever had. Still good this time, but not as good as i remembered.
The bartender Mike is incredible. The owner was here also ! I absolutely can’t rave enough about this place and everyone here. Do not walk… run to this spot !
Good time and friendly staff
I have loved for 15 years and will continue to love this place, old and new bartender become your friends. Wonderful service, amazing atmosphere. I personally love Mikes Dirty Martini 😉
Best Irish bar by MSG Tony and Mikey are legends.
Best place to get your kicks before phish
Classic "Irish American" bar/pub in the heart of Manhattan. Usually find myself here at least two to three times a year - either for a quick drink, or a drink and a meal, as I spend time in NYC a half dozen to a dozen times a year (live in Philly). Always a great spot with a reliable and well stocked bar and decent, moderately priced (especially for Midtown Manhattan) food. Service is always friendly, and the staff is always accommodating.
The Celtic Rail is awesome! Great vibes, good drink prices and the bartenders are awesome. My friends and I have been a few times before rangers and Knicks games and Dylan is the best!
A Hidden Gem That Feels Like a Passport to Ireland If you're anywhere near Penn Station, MSG, or the Empire State Building, do yourself a favor and step into this fantastic Irish bar. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with genuine Irish hospitality—warm, friendly, and effortlessly professional. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd hope for: relaxed, welcoming, and full of character. The drink selection is top-notch, with a wide variety of beers, ciders, and expertly crafted cocktails. But the true star? The pint of Guinness. It’s poured to perfection—so smooth, so rich, you’d swear you were sitting in a pub in Galway. Honestly, if someone blindfolded you and brought you here, you might just believe you'd been smuggled straight to Ireland or simply that you’d died and gone straight to heaven. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this spot is the perfect place to take a break, have a laugh, and enjoy a true taste of Ireland right in the heart of Midtown Manhattan.
The staff and security guard were great! Especially for it to be Santacon! It's close to the subway and Penn station. Drinks were amazing! I wish I remembered the bartender's name but he made me the best apple martini!
Still In New York at present. Went to this bar having Googled Irish bars near me. The bar tender wish I had caught his name was so friendly and very chatty. Had a top time in here. Anyone visiting NYC this bar is a must. Best one be far on our visit. Very homely and well coming.
Good take out food. Amazing staff. Mike the bartender during the day. 10/10! Very friendly and had a good time with him. We do our annual Christmas visit every year and we found our new Irish pub when we visit the city. Great spot!!!
We had the best time here last night before our concert at MSG. The bartender (owner?) was absolutely amazing!! He made our evening so fun. We wanted to go back after the concert but something came up and we couldn’t, but I can’t wait to come back when I’m back in NYC (:
Fun spot and quick service. No fancy drinks but good spot to get a beer
Good bar and excellent bar tenders. Did not see any food menu?
Very nice pub. Formerly the Blarney Stone. Nice renovation.
Nice pub. Near the Garden and serves proper pints of Guinness.
Good Irish bar close to the MSG and all the trains you might need to commute.
Only been here for NY Rangers pregame, but it's a great gathering spot prior to going to MSG
We just had few beers, no food here, only drinks.. Not so ideal if you need to have a bite with drinks.
Great bar atmosphere, perfect for a pre gaming and seconds away from Madison Square Garden.
Nice ambiance. Juke box. Was hoping to hear some Celtic music but Shawn was a red head Irishman who was quite cordial. I would recommend this place if your in Midtown
A great pub to stop for a quick beer or three after getting off the train at Penn Station.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stopped by Celtic Rail, an Irish pub in NYC — overall a solid experience. The atmosphere was average but comfortable, with a nice bar setup and plenty of seating inside if you're planning to sit and eat. They had a great selection of draught beers, though prices were a bit on the higher side — about $10 for a pint. Service was excellent; the bartender was quick, friendly, and kept things moving even during the busy hours. Didn’t try the food, so can’t comment on that. Parking can be a challenge in the area, as expected. All in all, a good spot for a quick drink and chill vibes
If you're thirsty, it's just a watering hole. No food cold or hot whatsoever, which is disappointing. Expensive. Service? Well, friendly bartenders.
Atmosphere/layout *NYC Irish/sports bar *15 or so seats at the bar; few high tables; few booths in the back *Nine TVs; internet jukebox Service *Friendly bartender Food/drink *Food menu *Few craft taps; standard liquor selection *Ordered a Stella Artois draft ($8)
I went here with a friend as it's in a good location central to many subway lines. We each got a beer and started talking. The music was pretty loud so it was hard to hear. Then abruptly they closed our tab as they were closing even though it was 8:30.
$10. Pints and no kitchen or even snacks to speak of... service was decent, but you had better love only consuming alcohol.
Do not go here. They charged me twice for the same check and have no access to a phone number to contest the charge.
$10 plus tax for a coors light draft. Absurd.
Waited 10 mins no one bothered to wait on us.
Arrived after making special journey, SHUT 21:40. Couldn’t believe it, had read good reviews. Shan’t try again😡
Be careful when you guys pay with card in this place always they put more money on, I went 2 time and 2 time happened, no more!!!
Bartender made a Lousy Drink - He then had a childlike tantrum and threw my drink in the trash when I questioned him about it - Rude and Unnecessary - Have been there multiple times before will not return - Better off going to next door to FEILE for great friendly service and a properly made cocktail.
33 dollars for 2 single neat shots of jamerson says it all . If you’re into gimmicks and are stuck for a pub go ahead
Too many older drank customer that dont respect the sidewalk..remember that is for walking ...if you are going to the restaurant curb yourself and keep your distance from people walking.. I hope the will get a visit from the consumers Affairs. They need to respect the walkway- it is for walking... Customer needs to respect and stay in their corner.
Came here once recently for the first time with a friend. Had one beer and both got sick immediately after as well as the next day (with food poisoning like symptoms). We both have strong tolerance and no we we’re not drunk. Only had the one beer off their draft line. Either bad beer or very dirty line…
Just been robbed in here, charged $24 for a Morgan’s and coke and gin and tonic. Previously went to Jack Dempseys and had 1x Guinness, 1x Heineken, 2x gin and tonic and 2x rum and coke and was only charged $38. Something doesn’t add up there! Think he heard a Scottish accent and took the piss. AVOID
Total tourist trap, gave us Jameson when we asked for well whiskey and got charged outrageous prices. Asked for clarification and were told “it’s Midtown” and the bartender walked away. Avoid this place at all costs.
This place is closed. Looks permanently closed. Don't know why it's showing up as a Google listing.
Very loud sports bar, where bartenders would rather stare at the tvs than serve people. Not sure what’s ‘Celtic’ about that place. $24 for two Heinekens? I thought that paying £8 for a proper pint in London was crazy. Avoid!
