Amazing food and atmosphere. Very attentive staff
Reasonable bar with good, but not cheap, food and drinks. Sound level not impossible for a bar.
Vibes are always on point.
Lovely energy, delicious food, great service! Highly recommend.
We love everything about this place, from the food, service, ambiance, vibe.. This is the place Stuy Heights has been missing!
Calm and cool vibe can’t wait to go back
always a great vibe!
Nice vibe and great drinks.
It all depends when you go it can be live and packed full of brooklyns fine night life or it can be cozy chill warm and inviting along with well crafted beverages and a simple menu you're sure to revisit
Every time I go there, which has been once a week for the past three months and I don't intend to break the streak; the staff have been friendly, courteous. The food is delish and it offers nice panoramic views of Bedstuy
We came in for the test run. They’re still figuring things out. Some items weren’t available from the menu as could be expected. I was pleased with the chicken entree. Amie served us. I look forward to returning for the grand opening.
I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was. The cocktails were equally as delicious and I am already planning on coming back soon for more before I leave NY
The service is fantastic, the food is amazing and the ambiance is perfect. A ‘Must Do’ for dinner any night. My favourite place when visiting New York. xx :))
We popped in for last cocktails and sat outside under the heat lamps. The service was great as always. Love having them in the neighborhood.
Attended one of their test runs. The place looked amazing. The service was great and the Branzino was incredible!! Look forward to trying out the full menu once available.
Excited for this new spot in the neighborhood! Drinks were great and food tasty. Everyone was friendly. Can’t wait to be a regular.
Went in for the test run, staff was extremely welcoming and food was crazy good. I can co-sign the chicken as an amazing entree and nothing was even close to disappointing.
This place is fantastic! Has a true bed stuy feel. You can take your dates, and you can take you mom, super space, even better vibes,
Amazing food and presentation and lovely atmosphere. Our server John An (? I believe that’s her name) was fabulous.
Go at least once a week. Love the steak frites and chicken. Great place and atmosphere, highly recommend !
Cute place. Great service. Great drinks and great music. What else to want?
Extremely friendly staff. Delicious mezcal old fashioned. Great vibe. Excited to try the food next time!
This place has good vibe and good food. Brunch was amazing!! Will come back again and highly recommend.
Great place to grab a drink in the ft Greene area
The drinks and food were excellent. Relaxed, classy vibe great for date night.
D&J has achieved the impossible, in making a welcoming space for both new and long time Brooklyn residents. Food, drinks, music & community make the venue a go-to and my first recommendation for anyone looking for something to do in the area.
I absolutely love Dick & Jane’s! This is one of my favorite local spots! Want to have Sunday funday with the girls? Dick & Jane’s! Want to watch the game on Thursday night? Dick & Jane’s! Want to hear great DJ’s spin while dancing with your friends and drinking delicious mezcal? Dick & Jane’s!!! It’s a 10/10 for me!
Haven't had dinner here just a few appetizers. The atmosphere is nice and the staff are great. Happy hour cocktails. Looking forward to trying the Grilled Bronzino
I was waiting fo this place to open. I recently moved to the neighborhood from Ft Green so I've already was a regular at their bar. The new hood doesn't have as many options to eat and drink so this was so perfect! The Bar is gorgeous so GRand. And the place is very spacious. We ordered the bacon, chicken, Branzino and the French fries as well as ratatouille burger! They were all delicious! Can't wait to try the rest of the menu! The chef actually came out to talk with us. He was so nice you can tell he takes serious pride in his cooking. I'd definitely recommend this place!
The ideal neighborhood spot. Great music, great service, amazing vibes.
Instantly one of my favorite places in the neighborhood. Amazing drinks and a perfect menu for a night out! They did such a great job with the design as well! Love the huuuuge bar with lots of seats. Will definitely be a regular.
Great cocktails, creative and tasty dishes. (I'm looking at you watermelon salad and deviled eggs!) Super welcoming/charming/engaging staff. Can't wait to explore more of the menu. Be sure to end it all with a Fer-ari!
Don't hesitate to check out this spot in Bedstuy! The food was delicious. I had the fried peppers, Burger, and fries. The service was impeccable and we were a large group. Great vibes in there and stellar service.
Great food , Drinks and entertainment. Rotating Dj’s and top notch management team with their ear to the street.
Made the journey from Westchester County to dine here and it was definitely worth the trip. The food and drinks were amazing and they probably have the friendliest service team in the business.
best new spot in bed stuy, hands down. always a vibe. perfect mix of a romantic date spot if you’re looking for one, and a nice communal gathering spot. great cocktails, nice mix of food options. thursday evenings are a live dj situation. it’s my favorite local spot. servers are kind, too.
Super dope addition to Stuy Heights and the food was 🤌🏼🤤🤤 Outdoor seating on a crisp fall night could not have been better with the delicious offerings. The Shequanda’s pepper sauce pushed everything to the next level. Server, drinks, ambiance, vibe, were all on point! New favorite place!!
This is my favorite spot in the neighborhood! Always great music and vibes. My friends loved it, my family loved it when they visited - never a dull time. Highly recommend!
Having frequented the Fort Greene location for years, we were counting down the days until this spot would open only a couple blocks from us. Hallelujah- that time has come! We were fortunate enough to experience this spot during its test run and were wowed by how together everything was only days into operation. Out of pure excitement, we couldn’t help but opt for standbys when it came to the drinks (a mezcal one and the other gin…I’ve failed on taking a picture of the menu, but do remember it was a super hard choice to pick just two). Utterly delish were the steak skewers, beet salad, deviled eggs and the half chicken (the whipped sides that accompanied the chicken made it for me). While everything we tasted was YUM and well-distinguished from the menus of restaurants nearby, those guys stood out to us. Ambiance was on point, to be expected with an eclectic playlist that was just what we needed. I’ve heard this is the new “date spot” for our hood…but I feel like pretty much any desire to imbibe should lead you here. Lord knows I’ll be showing up on the reg. I look forward to its unique vibe evolving as Bedstuy makes it her own.
Everything we ordered here was 🤌 tasty af, plus good vibes and good people. Had the Tijuana twist, Jane’s addiction, and Steve McQueen. All very balanced and delicious drinks. Food, we had salmon tartare, rosemary fries, and a lobster mac. I’m not even a mac n cheese person and I couldn’t stop eating it. The salmon tartare was fresh and light. Fries were good fries 🤷♀️ They just opened this new spot in bed stuy, and now imma have to visit the OG location. It was a teensy bit slow but soak up the atmosphere and take it easy, I’ve got no doubt they’ll figure it out p quick. Thanks for bringing some more good eats to the ‘hood!
Overall rating: 4.7 Really cute date spot that’s great for solo too. I went here on a bad date, altho I would have preferred to go by myself! The food was goodish, I personally like the atmosphere and service more. The croquettes were good. The pasta was good, but I’ve had better. I would like to try other items next time. I loveeeee the dessert!! It was soo good. I think it was some rice pudding or something. Whatever had the blueberry. I’d definitely want to try again for just drinks. And see how the night is on a Friday night.
Lovely- you must go! Our personal favorites from dinner - Tijana Twist-fresh, spicy, smoky; beet salad with whipped goat cheese- WOW!; steak skewer - flavor bomb; everything we had was quite good though. The whole experience was 10/10. Creative drinks, delicious food, great service + atmosphere was incredible— we will absolutely be back. The new interior is cozy but chic. Welcome to the Neighborhood ! Soon to be hottest spot in bed stuy + all of BK
great food, great drinks, great vibes. you can even bring your own vinyl for the DJ to spin. what else do you need?
Let me start off by saying, Fern is the best bartender I’ve ever had. His energy, and ability to interact with customers is next level. The atmosphere is amazing; very peaceful, but very active, and energetic, with a nice hue and great music choice. I went with a friend for HH to catch up, it was my first time but certainly won’t be the last time I’m there. They also have a poppin time during the weekend
Dick and Jane’s is always a good move. They have a DJ almost every night, great food, and a really fun crowd too. And they have my absolute favorite bartenders. It’s the kind of bar when you walk in, it feels like an extension of home. Treat them right and they’ll treat you even better.
The jerk chicken pop up was great!!! My hubby thoroughly enjoyed his 3 course meal! I ordered from the bar’s menu as I was avoiding carbs.
Always such a fun time at BarRoom. The bartender Andy is such a warm and kind soul! The drinks are fantastic and the food is always so delicious and hot. Perfect spot for catching up with friends, making new ones or a date night !
Beautiful interior. The revamped location is everything and then some. Bar has a great vibe, low sounding music to aid in conversation. Didn’t have food (kitchen still working on items) but there definitely some choices I would return for. I had one of the mezcal drinks that wasn’t as spicy/smoky and was just right. 10/10
The best vibe and best Dj’s in NYC hands down! Definitely where the coolest and most sophisticated crowd goes to meet and network. Very attractive crowd.

Cute spot. I enjoyed the music when I visited.
Chill vibes in bedstuy... can never go wrong there. Good for dates, to chill. Food looked good. I did not eat. I only went for drinks with a friend.
Just met up with an adult friend there. Drinks were good and music on point’
The food here is amazing 🤤 and the drinks are tasty and strong
Food was hit or miss, but the drinks were great and the atmosphere was lovely
I completely forgot to take pictures, but this was a great experience. The risotto fried balls were on point and the oxtail papardelle was delicious. The ambient was lovely, old school chic with the beautiful antique ceiling. There was live jazz, which made everything extra special.
You sit in the bar waiting for your table so you may order (many) drinks. =) Drinks were great. Bartmaid was not friendly. Service was great once we got in to sit down. They do not take reservations.
Great atomosphere, food was great. The hostess and the watiress were kind of rude, rolled their eyes a lot. We left the place feeling confused......
I’ve visited this place several times and it’s a guaranteed good time. The vibe, the music, the people, the feeling of community is abundant. However, what isn’t abundant is adequate service. A couple of times that I’ve been, it’s was very hard to get service at the bar. The place was packed and only had one bartender on staff. I waited 25 min to order a drink to no avail. I ended up leaving because I couldn’t get serviced and the bar was getting increasingly packed. Staff for the turn out of people that you bring in. Not being able to get a drink at a bar is kinda crazy.
Edit: I forgot about the great music from the DJ. Many dope blends that kept me in a good space as I ate. That definitely added to my experience. To the owner: This was Friday 7/18 around 8:30pm. I believe there were two on staff servers, one catering to indoor guests and the other to outdoor. I stood in the middle of the floor for almost 10 minutes and nearly walked out before I noticed the small empty table by the door. I'm a very gracious person, so if I could find a real excuse for either server to walk past me multiple times I'd definitely make it for them. Even the bartender just looked at me when I approached the bar. If I experience that again, I'll be more vocal but that night I did not want to chase anyone down just to be served. REVIEW: I walked in during the evening just after happy hour looking to try their menu for the first time. It was busy and I wasn't greeted when I entered so I stood by the bar for a bit before grabbing a menu and just finding a seat. It took a while before I was addressed. I ordered a Rose Gold cocktail which was enjoyable. For eats, I ordered the Shaquanda's wings, fries and Garlic Broccolini. The wings were pretty standard, cooked decently with an interesting take on a buffalo sauce. They had a little kick. The fries were typical fries done right and went well with ketchup. Lastly, the Broccolini was tender and buttery. Easily the best item of the 3 and had a familiar taste almost like broccoli in garlic sauce from a Chinese takeout spot. I likely wouldn't try the wings again if I'm going there just for food. I'd come back for that Broccolini and to try their other cocktails. If it's busy again when I come, I would hope not to wait as long to be seated or addressed regardless of how busy it may be. Otherwise, it's worth another visit. #itsfoodovereverything
Finally getting around to writing a review for one of my favorite bars in Brooklyn. The decor blends old school neighborhood bar charm with subtle modern touches, but it still feels warm and homey. During the day it’s bright inside, and at night it turns into a moody, intimate setting filled with conversation and / or people singing. The space is small and fills up quickly, so I recommend getting there early if you want a seat because there isn’t a ton of seating inside. Now onto the food. The menu is classic bar food like wings, burgers, and fries. For wings, I’ve had both the Sticky Mezcal and the Shaquanda wings. The Sticky Mezcal wasn’t my favorite, but I loved the Shaquanda wings. If they were fried a bit harder, they would be perfect. I’ve also had the burger, which was good, but for the price point I do wish it came with something on the side. Drinks wise, I’m a creature of habit and always order the Ginbella. This is genuinely the only place that got me into drinking gin. I will say, though, the portion to price ratio feels a little off lately. It seems like the drink has been served in a smaller glass recently, and at a $15 price point, I do wish it was a bit more. Also to my expresso martini lovers, the ones here are also very good. They have different DJs in rotation, so the music can be a hit or miss depending on the night. In the many times I’ve been here, I’ve heard hip hop, R&B, and some old school reggae. As for the crowd, this is definitely more of a 27+ vibe. Between the music and the overall vibe , it feels catered to that age range and up. All in all, you’ll catch me here year round. It’s a great spot for girls night, guys night, a pregame, watching a game, or even as an after stop for a date night.
Cute place to catch up with friends or go for a date. It’s dark and cozy in there. Got my Usual Negroni, it was done well. Sometimes this place gets a bit loud and overwhelming. I’ve been a few times now but haven’t tried the food so that’s definitely on my to do list !
This is a cool spot and often has a great crowd. You can catch the football games on the projector. Please be warned, they force a 20% gratuity on your bill even just sitting at the bar. Maybe they do this because people don't enjoy tipping for extremely slow service which you will probably encounter. (The bartender with the glasses is pretty good though) On top of that, they nickel and dime you with a 2.5% credit card surcharge. I have never seen that at a bar before.
The experience at Dick and Jane’s is authentic, warm, and fun. We had awesome waiters that continued to show up for us even as our party kept expanding. The DJ had a diverse range of music suitable to our guests and the food selection was decent with a few options . Drinks were served quickly and taste well too.
Ive visited Dick and Jane's a few times. Each time the music, drinks and atmosphere were good. I havent had the luck of eatting there yet so I cant rate that. Every Tuesday they host an R&B night which i think is dope (with an actual DJ, not a playlist). Drinks are basically $20 each. It gets crowded on the weekends. The weekdays are less crowded. I enjoy coming here because its local and black owned. Definitely will continue to visit.

The atmosphere and their cocktails are what keeps me coming back! They recently changed their menu and I tried their new burger and the duck frites. The duck frites pissed me off because it was about six pieces of duck with the rest of the plate covered in scattered fries. It didn’t taste or look like it was a $30 dish. Maybe if the presentation was nicer and it came with some greens. I left feeling full of fries and disappointment.
Place is not bad, but simply not what it used to be when it was formerly Casablanca. I’ve been here on multiple occasions since it has opened (solo and with friends) and it’s just ok. I don’t feel any warmth from the bartenders, or any of the staff. It’s fine for what it currently is, but it leaves me with a lot left to be desired.
Food was palatable but my small thin portion of fillet of seabass was fried to a very hard crust. Noise level inside prevented my dinner partner and I from doing more than bolting our food and departing. Wait staff did fine job.
Honestly there are way better restaurants in bedstuy. Food is edible, but unremarkable. I've been here a few times and order different things. Each time I am left wishing I chose a different place for dinner. The cocktails are pretty good so if you are coming here for drinks and sitting at the bar you should be good. Otherwise, get ready to wait for service because they only have 2 servers and at last 13 tables. It's no fault of the servers, they are running around. This is a reflection of the owner staffing and scheduling the shifts. The servers are really nice and greet you with a smile.
Dick and Jane is my go to spot. I come here almost every weekend. As of recently I’ve noticed a staff change. I order the same thing every time I go which is a French 75 to my knowledge Is around $10 I invited my friends with me one night and told them to try the drink and it is my treat. I handed the bartender my card and I told him I wanted a copy of my receipt so I know what I paid for. He charged me for 3 gin drinks and 1 French 75 which brought my total to $71 my total should have been around $30. I told him he charged me wrong and how I wanted to speak to manger. He told me he wasn’t there and refused to give me my money back. My go to spot is Now ruined and if this is now the service and atmosphere I rather spend my money else where

Super Meh. Overpriced cheap wine. Mediocre food. Huge fan of Baby Jane maybe just stick to that?
I would like to be able to recommend this place, but I can't. Might be great for drinks but maybe don't order food? The bartender was friendly enough and made a good cocktail.
My pregnant wife was just illegally denied entry for our friend’s birthday party. Bouncer said he was not allowed to let in pregnant women after 10pm. Never witnessed anything like this in my life. UPDATE: owner called to apologize. The above review is still legit but I want to acknowledge that (and say that I have been here previously and enjoyed it. Food is great.)
This was a five star place when it first opened, but something has happened. Went in for dinner at 6:30 to find they were out of IPA, two appetizers, and the fish would take 45 minutes “because it is all frozen and they need to thaw it out.” The food which was once perfect now seems mediocre. Did they fire the chef and managers and whoever does the ordering? Are the owners too busy with their other spots? Maybe just stick to hamburgers if you don’t have the ability to run a kitchen. So sad. I really liked this place for the first 8 months. Edit to respond to owner questions: I ate there last night, 6/18. You were out of steak skewers, mussels, and oysters. Also the menu says I was supposed to get trout but fairly certain the fish I got was branzino.
Decent drinks and sound system but some of the doormen are extraordinarily rude. Last Saturday night ~9:30pm he was talking to my friends and other patrons very crazy and made me question whether I'd like to return.
I don't known what happened but the food is not worth leaving the house. Not enough vegan options. The Veg burger and the other vegan/vegetarian options are no longer available. The vegan dessert is still there but tastes and looks off. Not sure what happened when I left for a few months for work, but this is definitely not it! Such a shame since I live really close and love the vibes. The atmosphere is great for dates or just a solo time at the bar great for people watching. The service is okay there are new faces. The cocktails are always great! My partner was bummed to learn they no longer have oysters. Overall come here for drinks, definitely eat somewhere else ESPECIALLY if you are vegan/vegetarian. Will be back for a night cap since the drinks are great.
The security guard is incredibly unprofessional. I like this spot because it’s walking distance from my home, but dealing with the guy at the door ruins it. Last night (6/21) I stepped outside (amidst dinner with friends) to smoke and he asked if I was heading home. I said no - just going to smoke, and I’ll be right back. Not even five minutes later I came back to the door and he yells “We are at capacity and those two people are before you” and closes the door in my face. I opened it and said “my things are inside - I only stepped out to smoke” and he responded “oh my bad”. As I went in he FOLLOWED me in to say “NO NEED TO HAVE AN ATTITUDE”. I’m a 5’5 woman - why he decided to pursue this (when he was in the wrong) was bizarre and made me uncomfortable enough to leave shortly thereafter. This isn’t the first time he’s been unprofessional. The vibe there isn’t worth dealing with his power trip.
I got overcharged for drinks last night (which were delicious btw). I realized as soon as I tapped my card that the server was being shady. I asked if I could tip in cash to which she responded that she had already automatically added the tip to the bill (to our party of 3???), but then the machine took me through the steps which included asking me if I wanted to tip - at which point, I asked her, why is it asking me to tip if you already included the tip? I was concerned also bc the price was $30 more than it was supposed to be, but I was too buzzed and it was too busy for me to really get a chance to think about it or question further. I've been coming to D&J Bar Room since it opened and never had this issue. The number listed on the Google Overview takes you straight to VM so I've emailed them. Will be taking this issue to my bank if I don't hear back and update the review.
Food was ok when it finally came. How do you put a food ticket in and then say 20 min later we ran out. How do you order fries and they come out 20 min later cold. Bartender was only good thing at this restaurant. Trust and believe will never be back. Only one chance to make a first impression. Now for yelp.
I’ve tried to give this place multiple chances because my husband likes the music and it’s failed everytime. While the music is always great. Coming from someone experienced in the service industry, the bar set up is unappealing, get someone that knows how to set up your bar. The drinks are always terrible, making a good gin & soda should never be hard, proper pours are important and the service has always been horrendous. The bartenders are disgustingly rude no matter which one or how polite you try to be. They all need customer service training. Your location is too good for your bar to be this bad.

Went there with three friends from abroad all speaking German to grab one drink. They must have thought we were tourists because they bumped up the receipt to 6 guest to hit us with included gratuity (20%) and then suggested us to tip an extra 20% on top. Third time that I had bad service here. Never gonna give that place business again.
Have yall changed your menu yet? P sure it’s been like 3 years at least.
Undercooked non tasty steak frites for how long I waited doesn’t make any sense just salt & pepper ? , maybe because it was takeout they didn’t treat my order with the same respect as dining in , maybe I’ll try again .
Horrible experience. No one came out to seat us so my husband went in to ask. They said we could sit outside, we did. Then we were ignored the entire time we waited for service. We watch one server sit down a couple in front us, looked at us continued to ignore us. My husband finally flagged the server down to ask for a menu. This person didn’t even respond just walked away brought over one menu walked away not a single word was spoken. Finally we got up and left. Not sure if our business was unwanted because we had a toddler with us or if this is just how they treat people. Insanely rude. Do better.
I, an African America male, walked up to grab a drink and was told it was reservations only. As I waited for my Uber, I watched another person, white male, walk up was asked if he had a reservation, he said no and get let in without hesitation. It’s frustrating to see the same unfair treatment that Casa Blanca was known for happening here under a different name.
Walked in around 6:25 and was looked at with confusion as to why my cousin and I,who are black, were in the space by the two bartenders. We immediately felt unwelcome even when they said hello. The vibe was off so we exited expeditiously. We stopped by hoping to grab another drink after just completing a pleasant meal at Therapy Wine Bar because we were waiting for you to open. Due to this experience you have now lost my business.
On 1/23/26 my black queer friends were told that there were too many men in their group by security and was ultimately given a hard time before being let in. The slap in the face was walking inside and seeing that the place wasn't even packed! There was a mixed crowd of both men and women but wasn't heavily packed with men. The reason this policy feels more targeted and homophobic is because this wasn't the first instance. This also happened 10/10/25, and my friends were only let in after telling security that I (a woman) would be joining the group shortly. Again to walk in and see a very mix crowd. My gut tells me that if my friends weren't visibly queer they would not have encountered these issues. In fact, 2 more friends (men) joined later and wasn't told anything about there being too much men in their group. I'm disheartened by this, especially as a place that treasures itself as being a space for black people. I guess it's only a space if you're black but not visibly queer. My friends and I spent many summer nights here and spent so much of our black dollars to pour into this business. We got to know the staff and told other friends & colleagues to come to a bar that we thought at the time felt like a safe space. Unfortunately, that no longer is the case - I refuse to spend my money in a space that doesn't make ALL black people feel welcomed. I would also like to add that one of my friends that was in this group sent an email 1/25/26 to express his concerns. To date, there has been no response.
I’ve lived in the community for about 4 years , I’ve watched dick and Jane’s go from a community space to an enlisting space. I’ve had the best unfortunate experience of being of going to dick and Jane’s on a Saturday night. The “bouncer” at the front door was extremely aggressive. I check instagram pages etc to set expectations for the night. The bouncer denied access for a night that was night notified before. In the recent months that I’ve been to dick and Jane’s this attitude has been apparent. For a space that included all identities I do not feel safe in the space. I’ve been contributing to the space for years and no longer will. I hope that they can get back to the community
Walked in a couple weeks ago to grab a bite. Their food has always been decent. Wasn’t crazy busy. Tables in the corner were reserved (so not being actively served). We stood at the bar trying to catch the attention of one of the bartenders who absolutely clocked us waiting and chose to ignore us entirely. Full minutes ticked by. Nada. Finally got so uncomfortable that we just walked out.
