Clean tidy and very fast paced service! Multiple options in one store so if you feeling for sushi or even a sandwich they have that. They have fruit salads, mixed greens and soups! Açaí bowls and etc.
I work nearby and I get lunch here all the time. Their hot sandwiches are great value per price and good quality.
An absolutely amazing place where you can by every piece of freshly prepared food imaginable. Hot and cold food sold by the pound. Like pick'n'mix but for grown ups. Open 24 hours day and night. Amazing place highly recommended. Right opposite the Empire State Building too....
The salad bar had dozens of choices. We ate in. Tables and chairs are much-used but comfortable.
Visited close to midnight, there were still plenty of food options available. Many Korean and Japanese drinks/snacks at an affordable price as well. Small seating area upstairs!
Definitely a fun, interesting store with great food. This store literally sells so many things besides food. But the coffee and food are real good as well. Definitely a place to stop in NYC
Great place to get whatever you might want! They have all the brands you’d want and more, and the employees are very friendly. The owner was there when I was at the store, and he was talking to the shoppers to get feedback. Really happy to have this place nearby!
Pretty clean place. Food looked mostly fresh and abundant. It was good. $16 for a full box of food. I would come back.
My husband and I stopped here before we went to the Empire State Building. There were so many different options for food, drinks, snacks, etc. Literally anything you could think of- they had. Lots of grab and go options, along with items you could sit down and eat. I wish we had little places like this in AL! Everything was clean and the staff was kind!
There always busy between the hours of 12-4, Basically the lunch crowd. They seem to be reasonably priced. I like that they have heated fridge for prepared food where everything stays warmed and ready to eat. I always get there shrimp fried rice cost around 7 dollars but its worth it because it filling. They do have variety to choose from buffet of hot food & salads, prepared( rice bowl meals & dumplings), sushi, sandwichs, snacks( all varietys), Dessert section. List go on. Been there 3 times, I will be back when I'm in the area.
Great place ... Very clean and aesthetically pleasing. They have all kind of food to satisfy you. Customer Service is fantastic! This is my "go-to" place when I'm in Midtown. Plenty of seating and the food seems to always be fresh! Just a great experience everytime I'm there ...
Got a breakfast wrap from there and it was delicious! And all the ingredients were fresh and well seasoned! I wanna go to try their buffet at dinner time!
Love the food selection here, quality is excellent. My personal favorite is the udon, such tasty broth and the noodles have the right bounce and texture. The vegetables are also quickly cooked so they still have crunch.
Buy something here and get free popcorn on the way out. They do run out fast so be sure to get there before 4pm, you may have a better chance at getting complimentary popcorn before they shut the booth down. Desserts are amazing and customer service is great.
Where do i begin. Etc has a variety of Asian options not widely available. From desserts to chips, drinks even toys not produced in the US. Food everywhere, all kinds of options sandwich bar, sushi bar, buffet, dessert area, sitting area, literally ETC. Its an experience like no other in the city. I usually visit around 1pm and the place is not crowded and they always have places to sit and eat. I recommend to everyone.
I love this place, It's addictive. The food is always fresh and delicious. Such a wide variety of food. Even with a high traffic of customers this place is kept clean and comfortable. The staff is so helpful and pleasant, it's a pleasure to frequent this place.
A lot of really good choices here. You can't go wrong picking from one of the food stations with soups, ramen, breakfast, coffees and alcohol or the hot and cold deli bars. There's Asian food of all sorts here including grocery items and premade foods. The prices are reasonable and there is seating upstairs hidden a little bit.
I order from ETC often. I have never been disappointed!
Their hot buffet is actually GOOD and you can fill one of the small containers with a full meal and spend $10. I got really good beef brisket, some potatoes and a bunch of green beans for $9.85.
We had freshly made sandwiches (tuna salad and ham and salad) which were generous serves, tasty and well made. Recommend this eatery for quick service for lunch
Great options at great prices! Yummy food and wonderful customer service.
Great variety of food to sit in or takeaway. Had a nice yoghurt and pastry. The staff were friendly.
Great spot for a lunch break! I got a salad and was really good and fresh. There was a great greens to add ons ratio. It was $16, which is a little much for me, but I think with the quality and quantity of food it was worth it.
I personally love this place. From their sandwiches to their salads, it’s truly a great place to get lunch (especially if you work nearby). The place gets crowded during lunch hours since everyone is coming here to grab a bite to eat, but I went at 4pm and there was no one there! They also have lots of drinks to choose from, a buffet for you to choose, soup, and sushi! That’s not all of what they offer though. They also have knick knacks for you to buy: cute and funny aprons, oven mitts with puns on them, along with a whole section dedicated to toys/collectibles. I highly recommend their salads for anyone who is looking for a good salad place. The staff is nice and attentive, and I love going there for food.
My favorite buffet style location ever! This store is ALWAYS clean! Their food is always fresh! They have great snack choices, AMAZING bagels (pumpernickel runs out early so be aware) I think they serve breakfast until well in the afternoon if I'm not mistaken & it is cook to order. (They have cream cheeses, jellies, the salmon situation, soooo much to choose from) They have a great variety of sandwiches/grill options I snagged an amazing dragon eel sushi for lunch & that made me all the more happy 😊 They were able to withstand the covid precautions & all & trust me, ETC is it. They have at least one other location elsewhere but you are free to do your own research. The lunch rush gets WILD esp with the colleges in the area but there are seats available. OH & THEY MAKE AMAZING COFFEE DRINKS. & HAVE BAKED GOODS. I BELIEVE there's also a section of a wall dedicated to toys/gift shop etc. Thank you ETC for being an amazing staple so far from my house 😅
Really tasty bagels with peanut butter 🥯
Love to go here for lunch, there is a lot of options from the hot food buffet to the sun sandwiches even sushi. It’s something for everyone love it
Super clean establishment with a huge variety of cooked food of different cuisines and everything I’ve tried has always been yummy. I like that they have a variety of international snacks, too. Everyone working there is always so sweet. It’s a great spot to stop by and grab some food when you’re working, in a rush, or just don’t feel like cooking
Smoothest latte. Very helpful and polite staff. Great for quick easy and reasonable prices, breakfast, snacks lunch or dinner. We travelled to New York as a family of 4 the kids loved it here and it was very handy.
Outstanding place to eat, with wonderful service and great atmosphere. Then there’s the food, simply sublime. I stumbled upon this place by accident, only looking for a drink but discovering my favourite food under one roof. It’s a perfect concept: wandering around the aisles, filling your food trays and then pay by weight. Genius, thank you so much. A highlight for the uncultured Geordie from Newcastle, England.
Nice spot for breakfast or snacks on the go. We had chocolate chip pancakes, banana pancakes, hangover wrap and egg and sausage wrap. All were good. We didn’t care for the cold brew but other coffees were good too. Friendly and convenient all for $10ish per person + coffee
I eat here often when in midtown. Good food, great selection, reasonably priced. Service is efficient and friendly. Options for Sushi, hot bar with fish, veggies etc save me from eating too much pizza :)
Since I was walking by, I checked out this restaurant. Staff service was remarkable as always. They serve huge amounts at reasonable cost. This spot changed my opinion completely. The cost-to-quality ratio is excellent.
I’ve been coming here for a while their food and drinks are great and at a pretty reasonable price, specially their matcha top tier! I love it, their staff is very friendly and welcoming, always recommend this place! 10/10
I liked it a lot. It's right across from the Empire State buiilding. You can come in and serve yourself with a ton of different food, drinks, pastry, fruit, veggies or candy options. Weigh your plate and pay by the pound. The prices are fair for NYC, and you can really find anything you like, from meat, fish, pasta, veggie or vegan options- just pile the preferred food on your plate and go to the cashier. You can eat there using plastic utensils or take it out. Enjoy!
So awesome! It’s like an Asian Whole Foods - part grocery/convenience store but with hot food and food stalls inside. They also have collectibles for sale like Funko Pop and mystery blind boxes which were fun to look at. They have sushi, a hot buffet, ramen stall, bakery, desserts, and alcohol. Outside is an enclosed seating area. Would definitely suggest coming here.
This is a sleek new-ish space for grabbing more affordable food on the go, although it also has seating upstairs and downstairs. It’s got your typical food buffet bars, including a fruit buffet, as well as a large selection of drinks, waters, juices, coffees, and the like. It has a snack section, a little toy/import section, and a coffee bar. It also has deli-type food made to order - it’s your twenty-first cafeteria. I like going for the sushi.
Lots of options for food including sandwiches and asain choices. There is also a hot bar were you can fill up your own box. A bit pricy and the selection at night drops quite a bit but good is all good. They also of some items you can buy I posted some pics below. These were just some I found funny there are more, but the selection isn't that large in terms of novelty items.
Nice restaurant where you can see and choose your own food, very large choice of different kinds of food, from all over the world , with vegan and vegetarian options, meat and fish, fresh fruits and vegetables, salads. You can have an healthy meal. But one of the worst coffee ever...
Good! I still orefer Essens but this place us a close second. Hot bar is similarly priced, but they still dish out food, later then Essen, so I still get a fresh selection after work. I also liked the build your own burger option as well. Upstairs seating is usually always available after work hours, and its good food. Definitely filling for a good price.
Perfect place to grab some food very quick. Their food are great and cheap :) And they open 24hours! but, be careful when you grab your food from the "grab and go" section at the end of the day. Once I had a chicken fried rice which went bad on Sunday night.
Lots of variety and last visited before the self quarantine and was concerned in early warning about salad bar and risks all salad bars have. Workers had masks preparing but cashier had gloves and was clearly cross contaminating handling cash and credit cards without changing gloves. When they reopen we may still need to be cautious so use your own judgment then. they have table to eat at. A bit funky with the cheap novelties sold in the front, I don't get that at all.
Amazing selection of pay-by-weight hot and cold food; the sad thing, however, is that (due to pay-by-weight and having several pricey options included in that), if you try to get a nice filling lunch you will end up paying close to $20. If I remember correctly it's $11/pound. You could fill all that up with sushi and lobster I suppose.
Food is almost delicious for the most part and the employees (especially the sandwich and salad guys) are very nice. However...the prices are incredibly outrageous. Do not go there if you are a New Yorker and not a tourist, it is literally a rip off, probably because of the location across from the Empire State. I work just around the corner, and used to go there a lot, since, as I have said, food and service are good. But no more. After overpaying yet again I decided to boycott this place I am am hoping that other New Yorkers will do that as well, so that the owners will realize that there are limits to overcharging customers. Just in case the owners read this: you have once again charged me three times more on an item than the price on the sticker. I understand that this must have been a mistake, but that really is not my problem, and since I had no time to argue, I just paid and left. Left for good...you will not see me there ever again. EDIT: it has gotten better, and they will no longer try to nickel and dime you. Customer service much better as well. I am upgrading the review from two to 4 stars.
Food was ok got some sushi. They have a lot of options to choose from.
Eaten three times in here. Very friendly staff. Food is fresh, well cooked and tasty. Basic Chinese stuff at a reasonable price, also good salads available. Costs less by cash.
Based in the heart of Manahttan, the flagship store is one of a kind. Great selection and one of my best projects within the refrigeration plant systems.
Beautiful atmosphere and great location. Clean. Hot bar is great the food actually tastes edible. Everyone seems nice and friendly but it is a tad over priced for midtown. If you got the funds, go ham at the self serve hotbar but it will double the amount you think it is in your head. They've got a great collection of sweets and chocolates imported and crisps also.
Good buffet food. It’s not going to blow you away but is decent and will be cheaper than most other area options
We had lunch here right across from the Empire State building. They literally have something for everyone which is great and all of it is not bad. Its pretty bare bones as it is really for the NYC lunch crowd, but it really did the trick. Everybody is friendly, but it is pretty much do it yourself.
What an awesome place! They literally have sooo much Asian food, it lives up to its name. I had the vegan Korean BBQ burger. Taste was good, but could’ve used a bit more sauce as it was on the dry side. Place was clean and customer service was great.
This is such an exciting little place. It can be incredibly crowded, but if you're willing to fight through the crowds, it can be a pleasant experience. The wide selection of food here is impressive. Stop in here if you find yourself in Koreatown. Even if you don't buy anything, the atmosphere alone is worth the trip.
We stopped here for coffee during our short stay in New York. Great coffee with the feel of a nice mall food court. Great place to warm up and visit and it is located near all the shops. Large windows with beautiful natural lighting warm you as you visit.
We called in here for lunch after visiting the Empire State Building. The place is kind of like a food court. You select the food you want and take it to the front counter to pay. We went to the Thai place and it was perfectly adequate. It is reasonably priced which makes a change from the usual NYC fare.
Have only been for breakfast but it has a great selection. Anything can be customised, all made fresh to order. Also has an amazing selection of hot and cold buffet dishes. Everything from soup, salad, stew, ribs etc. Also a good selection of fruit, juices and other drinks. It's directly opposite the Empire State Building between 33rd and 34th Street in 5th Avenue. Would recommend.
Japanese ramen is bland. Don’t get it if you’re expecting something good. Instant ramen soup I make at home tastes so better. This is really just a grab and go cafeteria spot.
too expensive for locals that know what the prices should be. Sushi has gotten worse, not worth the $9+. I really want to like this place because the employees (the ones that do the cooking/ cleaning) are very nice and accommodating. However the quality is dimensioning and that's on the owners.
if you are looking for east/southeast asian cuisine, go to Joju or Xi'an. you'll pay a few dollars more and get a significantly better meal. I got the veg tempura udon for $15 and change at ETC, got two (2) tempura pieces that were soggy bc they pour hot broth over precooked tempura, and 5 veggie toppings. will not be coming back for it or any other asian food.
- This place offers a lot of things all under one roof, from food to candy to groceries to household items to toys and a seating area. They have a focus on Asian culture, which is cool, but also not all they offer. If you take the time to browse the entire establishment, you’re definitely bound to find something intriguing to buy as I did. - FOOD - if you’re looking for food, they have a hot buffet, cold buffet, food made to order, pre made food, a wide section of drinks, a grocery section they have a whole dedicated candy section. You can definitely find something, but it may not be the most fulfilling meal you could get in the area. I ordering their “Tonkatsu” ramen (instead of tonkotsu), a Cobb salad and a few exotic drinks. I was expecting the ramen to be tastier, but it was very similar to instant ramen (with the flavor pack) and they just added a few veggies and two slices of pork. It was fine, but not worth ordering again. The Cobb salad was very filling and tasty, but there was not enough dressing and I wasn’t asked how much dressing I wanted. The drinks were very unique and good if you want to try something different then what you’re use to. - This is a great place to get random items that you may not need, but you find them amusing enough to purchase. They have funny aprons and socks. They have toys and mainstream entertainment items that are great for children (like the avengers, dragon ball z, unicorn things).
Got a spicy tuna roll and it was not good. They just put spicy sauce on top instead of mixing it in with the tuna, and the tuna doesn’t taste so fresh. I haven’t tried the other foods but based on the to-go sushi, I wouldn’t recommend
I come here often. Fast and convenient but VERY SALTY. Note to chefs and management: please tone down the salt… specifically in your bowls (mapo tofu, bulgogi…) and hot bar dishes. Folks can always add more salt if they want.
Asian food stall was bland. I got vegan udon, and friends got beef bibimbap and tofu japchae and these were all bland. All of us couldn’t really stomach eating more than 1/2 of it. The server was nice about checking if everything was vegan but I had to clarify what vegan means a few times.
First off, the AC seems to be broken, and it's oppressively hot inside. Also, the service is exceptionally slow. It took over 15 minutes just to get a toasted bagel. There are countless other places nearby (Rico Bagel, or Pio Bagel) that are better, faster, and less overwhelmingly hot.
The food is great here, but I would double check your receipt!!! I come here at least once a week and I have been overcharged multiple times. It would start off with something small like charging for rice when the meal came with it or mistyping the price of my food. I think there is a cashier that doesn't know a lot about the grab-n-go section, because she told me that my teriyaki bowl did not come with rice... She told me only the soups came with free rice, which is not true. I have gotten the bibimbap bowl from here and it always came with free rice. So essentially I have to eat my chicken teriyaki meal with no rice (kind of odd). I didn't want to make a big deal of it so I just left, but I think they should have a scanning system and have a sign that states what foods come with free rice on the side. I would come here again, but it is not my first choice anymore.
My daughter and I ordered from the grill hot sandwiches chicken and grilled cheese sandwiches. The sandwiches were horrible, my daughter chicken sandwich was hard and tasteless, my grilled cheese was totally black on one side, the onion rings was cooked so hard they were not edible, the fries was the only well cooked items that was enjoyable and our coffee was amazing. Why would anyone send out food cooked like that. We paid too much money for this food to be garbage. Very disappointed!
They use the lowest quality ingredients to make the sloppiest, most unseasoned sandwich or wrap you ever had in your life. They waste no time in charging you $15 for that stomach ache.
It was very unexpected treatment from one of the food court employee. She said she's done with today work, but supposed to not ignore the customer. She keep using the phone and talk to other employee in the kitchen. Not care about customer at all. I dont have enough time and I need to something to eat. She made my day go all the way wrong and also mad my feeling so bad. Let me ask you boss why you hire her in front of other people?
Got a bacon egg & cheese, told them twice no mayo, they put mayo. The sandwich is an oily disgusting mess and the bacon is probably the worst you’ll ever have. For $12 - go to a deli, you’ll get a lot more and much better
Never have I ever been treated with so much disrespect from an employee in my life. I call to place an order for a fruit platter this morning, and mind you I've been ordering fruit platters from this location since they first opened and have never been told that there's a minimum amount of people for the platter (apparently it's 7). I kindly ask the girl over the phone if this is a new policy because I've never been informed of this before in the past, whenever I ordered a platter for 6 people. She responds with an annoyed tone telling me this is how it's always been. The attitude was unnecessary and I would've never felt this way if she just told me this respectfully. She continues on to give me an attitude while asking for my delivery address and payment, then she hangs up the phone and charges my card without even telling me the total price. I then get the platter delivered and noticed there's even less fruits cut out for 7 people than for 6 people since I've ordered this multiple times. Not only did I have to be treated with such disrespect, I also got scammed for my money. Sad to say I won't be coming back here anymore.
Their food court is not well maintain, they have rice thats been sitting all day and it’s dried out like rocks. The chicken and fish is been exposed all day. The price per lb is way to expensive vs the poor quality. Will not recommend this place at all. For 12 box per lb, and poor food quality. Walk away.
Don't like it, the cashier was unpleasant and they charged my card Twice even the machine said DECLINED. The food is not impressive due to the cost, 101 box per 3 meals. Don't recommended.
If you want to get discriminated go to this place. I went in to get a snack and this Asian guy was almost physically pushing me and screaming at me only because I was not wearing a mask. He even called 911. I wanted to report this to the police but they took too long and I had to leave. What those people are doing is against the law, it’s a discrimination. And on top of all of this, their food is not that good at all. I used to go to this place only because it was in front of my office. Don’t support businesses like this.
Waited forever but the counter guys kept ignoring
I always get the pad Thai , food was amazing, portion was great . Never have a problem, I decided to try the hot pastrami sandwich the other day. The guy was so rude. I was just asking making sure he knows what I want in my sandwich and what bread, he keeps cutting saying yeah I’m making it yeah I’m making it yeah making it over and over. So rude. Never going back . When I open my sandwich he only put the meat and cheese. No veggies nothing.don’t go , rude guys on that section. Disgusting
Came here based off pictures and was severely fooled. Make sure you come inside and take a look at what food is available. Nothing like the pictures or videos.
I usually go there every morning for oatmeal. Its was good, however, today the oatmeal tasted like dirty dish water and oil. I came back to the store to tell them what happened. They said that is impossible, it tastes fine. I said it does not and I would like a refund. They said, we only give store credit. I said, I want my money back. I have no intention on eating here again. They said no. So, I am never going back again, they have lost a customer, who went there for breakfast and lunch everyday since it opened. Bye-bye!!
If you're in the mood for cold, okey-ish looking food with a sad variety, etc. eatery might just be your dream spot. Everything tasted like it had been sitting out for hours—nothing fresh, nothing good. The place itself? Dirty enough to make you lose your appetite (if the food didn’t already do that). Honestly, I didn’t expect five-star dining, but I at least hoped for edible. Won’t be back.
I came here today around 130pm I went to the hot sandwich counter. Where I was greeted and I asked for a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. The Hispanic men cooking took my order but decided to clean the grill beforehand. Which I appreciated. But then I watched as they took multiple orders and started making them before even starting mine 🫤 cooking eggs and reheating bacon literally takes 2 mins. Idk if they didn’t want to take orders from a woman lol (machismo) or what? It was very rude. I am a paying customer. I will not be going back
I had a vegan burger there with fries. It is the worst burger I have ever had in my whole life. It tasted weird, the burger bun was dry. Their fries are horrible, they are deep-fried at a really hot temperature so it will basically "cook" the outside but not the inside and taste burn and full of grease. I got sick after eating there yesterday and almost called out of work. I was nauseous the whole night. Please spare yourself this place. The employees who were making my burger also seemed annoyed with me, when I was asking for salt or ketchup on my order. From what the other reviews look like there, there food is not fresh. It is my last time ever going there.
I purchased food at 5:29 PM from ETC Eatery, located at 345 5th Ave, New York, NY 10016. However, when I opened the box in-store, the food was sour and tasted expired. I requested an exchange, but the staff at the counter refused, stating that they do not allow any returns or exchanges once the box is opened. She told me I could report the issue to the government, but they would not take any action to replace the item. And I have already reported to 311
BE AWARE they like cash. Good food, but they are just like Bread and Butter charge 3%+ if you are paying with a card. There is a small sign at the register where it says about the extra charge if you are not paying with cash. Update went there today to get a quick bacon egg and cheese on a roll and it’s $7 plus tax. Couldn’t see it on the menu board when ordered. The highest price in the area, so far.
