Great neighborhood German beer & sausage spot! Fun & chill!
5 stars alone for the dedication to German beer. Great food too.
Best pretzel with beer cheese EVER! Lots of great beers 🍺🥨
Great beer list. Check out trivia on Sunday nights
The generous windows give an airy, sunny beer hall atmosphere in the early evening.
Great beer! Good food! Excellent service!!
Great beer and German food, nice indoor setting
Great vibes, wide beer selection and friendly staff. Pretzel was tasty too!
Such a cute spot for a beer & sausages. Felt very cozy. The staff are super cool folks too.
relaxed atmosphere, games, and great beer. They even have a chess night on Wednesdays! Say hi to Miko!
Exactly what the neighbor needs and the perfect spot to hang out, have a few lagers and eat some brats. The brat, I nust say, is exceptional and worth a stop just for it.
I'm a girl in my early twenties with a lot to learn about beer and Dale was very helpful and patient making me a recommendation!
Great place to hang out with friends, friendly atmosphere, lovely barmen
Excellent atmosphere and beer selection! Pretzels are amazing, loved the bratwurst!
Sehr gut! Great german bar with great german beer, pretzels and other great food
Friendly faces, delicious pretzels, great beer selection at a fantastic price—a neighborhood staple!!!
Love this addition to the neighborhood and I love it even more that they have vegetarian options of the traditional dishes!
Fantastic spot. Food is great. Awesome beer selection. Amazing service.
Excellent atmosphere and beer selection. The pretzel is beyond delicious!
Lovely place with a cozy German atmosphere. Love the chess on Wednesdays!!
Great German beer garden! Good pretzels. Always lots of fun!
Great sausages and inexpensive high-quality beer!! A welcome new place!
There home made pretzels are the best. My whole family loves it with Nutella and spicy mustard.. and the cole and the grapefruit beer is so yummy. And I don't even drink. But it is good I drank that one
Great neighborhood German-themed bar. Authentic and delicious food with a full compliment of German beers and even some favorite soft drinks like Almdudler. It was a great time. Will go back again.
Great beer (they even have GF and non-alcoholic options) and delicious pretzels. The gruner veltliner is also nice for wine drinkers. Enter on Fenimore to be assigned a table. There are some great outdoor seating options
best chill spot ive ever been. Great drinks, great brats, easy vibes
What a lovely environment to drink, be merry, and gorge yourself on hot pretzels and apple strudel. The bartenders are kind and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is casual and comfortable.
Great place with the good selection of beer. I often drink wine there and it is always freshly open bottles. The bites are pretty cheap and delicious. Highly recommend this place!
Good stop for some bier. Prices are reasonable but service may be a little slow. Its nice towards dusk sitting outside and people watching, though it can sometimes be loud with the local traffic. Danke!
Great place to have a great German beer and the draft selection is outstanding. The staff is excellent and the food while limited has excellent German dishes. Friendly.
Super Fun, Super Chill little German beer hall. Hosted by a true expert and extremely casual and fun. Good spot for kids also.
Perfect 👌🏻true German style beer house with awesome selection of beer, good food (even vegan options!), and awesome bartender. A great addition to the best neighborhood in Brooklyn
Such a gem, cozy, real old-world feel. Games food great beers Lan asset to the neighborhood
My favorite neighborhood bar! Love trivia night and that you show the big soccer games. Grateful to have this spot close by.
Outdoor sitting, good selection of German beer and delicious German style sausages. Nice hangout, must try if you are in the area.
Nice neighborhood spot, 18 beers on tap, and some solid food as well. Love the calm vibe, bartenders are also great!
Great pours, great beer list, cozy ambiance, good food.
Great food, drinks, and fun trivia vibes that still get you home on time for bed! Gluten free beer options available (last time it was Glutenburg and I loved it!)
This place is so aggressively quaintly German I was ready to hit that yodeledeledihoo after one radler. also it was the Zohran watch party so extra hype
The staff here are vert friendly. They have a really great beer selection and the local Docs cider is on point! Not too sweet, not too dry. I love the fact that they offer non-pork sausage options including Beyond Meat. The pretzels and zucchini and potato pancakes are delicious. Overall, a solid German beer garden and a welcomed addition to the neighborhood.
So great! An incredible neighborhood institution, with the best beer and great food. Absolutely love how they're doing more and more events, like music and comedy and trivia, but it's always also a cool place to just come and chill by yourself. I don't know where I'd be without the rock in my life that is the Stübe! Definitely the place to grab a seat outside now that the weather is warming up!
🍻🎲🍴✨ Hasenstüble: Charming Hangout in Prospect Lefferts Gardens! ✨🍴🎲🍻 Situated in the heart of Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Hasenstüble welcomes you with its cozy ambiance, unique beer selection, and array of games. From chess club nights to lively Thursday trivia, it's the perfect spot for socializing. While the food menu is limited, the apple strudel is a standout. Overall, it's a charming place for drinks with friends, albeit with room for improvement in the food offerings. I will say though, I would love to be able to bring my dog inside at one of the tables at the edge but you know….food laws and such
So darn charming. Unique beer and food. Lots of games to play and fantastic service and customers. The chess club on Wednesdays is fantastic and trivia on Thursdays is a hoot.
Terrific local spot - has been a great outdoor space for good sized groups to hang. The food is really good, they have an awesome selection of beers and Demetrius is an all around great bartender that treats regulars very well.
Great mini beer garden fight in PLG/Flatbush. Pleasant and quick service. Solid beer selection and bites to eat. They have cool group nights like chess, etc. Beyond that, there are cool boardgames and like things to help you entertain yourself or your company. Definitely check it out.
Friendliest bartender, a variety of tasty brats, pretzels with Nutella, KäseSpätzle is so good…oh and there’s beer too! 😊I do wish they had a few more wine and cider options but they are a beer garden after all so I can’t blame them.
Great place with good, well priced beers. Excellent draft list of German beers, has food as well. Large TV with sports on in the main area, but low key bar area. Large tables and plenty of room for large groups.
Great place! Solid beer selection and very good food. Finally a proper bar with a big screen and speakers for watching sports, pounding beers and eating sausages until we fall over.
I love Hasenstuble — the food, drinks, and atmosphere are fantastic. However, our recent experience was severely marred by a server named Gabriel, whose conduct was shockingly unprofessional. His demeanor was openly rude, dismissive, and hostile from the outset. Attempting to order food felt like an unwelcome disruption to his day, and he treated our group with thinly veiled contempt. This was without question one of the most uncomfortable and unpleasant service experiences I've ever encountered. It's deeply disappointing to see such a great venue undermined by such unacceptable behavior.
Great in every way. Super cool place to come relax with friends.
Great place for a beer and games. Our server was amazing and had us laughing. The beers were awesome. Definitely going back...
New spot in the neighborhood. Fully commits to its German beer haus theme with its decor consisting of thick dark wooden trim on white plaster, a few rows of simple bench/table combos, even a pair of antler chandeliers. I had the hot mulled apple cider which was not overloaded with cider as many spiked ciders can be. Welcome to the neighborhood! Update: I was given a free sausage due to a banking error in my favor and as a result I owe this place a blood oath of fealty Post Covid update: Thank the beer and sausage gods that this place survived the shut down and is back up and running. The sausages are flavorful and girthy, the beer is crisp and flows like water. Proof positive that we are no longer on the darkest timeline.
Good amount of vegan and vegetarian options. They have 4 vegan sausages to choose from, which is exceptional. All four are good. The potato pancakes and potato salad are both on point. Great beer selection. They even have some of my Munich Oktoberfest favorites on tap.
Authentic German beer garden that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Cozy comfy communal tables are great for socializing with friends and meeting new ones. Beer menu has a quality selection of interesting German beers with complex & delicious layers of flavor as well as local craft brews. The food menu is simple but tasty. We tried the zucchini pancakes and potato pancakes that were equally delicious. This vegetarian appreciated the vegan sausage offerings. Great addition to the neighborhood!
Great place for a refreshing beer and delicious food. I recommend getting all the toppings on the sausages. One is a snack and two are a meal. Their pretzels are also good. I get extra to heat up at home later. They have a nice little outdoor space.
Found this gem while looking for a chill spot on a Friday night.. Delicious food and great assortment of beers. Can't wait to come back. 2+ yrs later, still one of our favorite spots.

I love the Stube, my favorite neighborhood spot. Cameron is a delight, great at making a big beer list more understandable. Best bar fries around, phenomenal beer, and a delightful vibe.
Really nice beer selection, love the cheese sausage. Great neighborhood spot and easy to have the dog outside
Really nice beer selection, love the cheese sausage. Great neighborhood spot and easy to have the dog outside
Nice selection of beers, and the pretzel with cheese was delicious! Short staffed tho so we waited a long time for our food.
Not bad the drinks were good service was quick but the food needs to improve more flavor
Need stronger benches. Everything was wobble tables and benches. And the chairs are so thin. And placed close together
Great beer garden. Love chess nights on wednesdays. Great side dishes at normal prices
My boyfriend and I love their sister restaurant DSK in Fort greene. I decided to finally try Hasenstüble after a lovely day in prospect park. The menu is pretty much the same. I tried both of their oktober fest specials. I had the vegan brat and apple sage brat. my partner had curry brat and regular brat. We usually order fries at dsk but unfortunately this restaurant did not have a fryer. We had a pretzel instead. The ordering is done by qr code menu and telling the bartender. Nobody comes up to your seat. Other than that. Great atmosphere, seating, art and food. I hope they get a fryer soon!
Trivia and the place is awesome. Please. Do. Not. Do. Table. Service. Here. on a Thursday night. It’s a stressful disaster which results in no food arriving and drinks added to your tab.
This is a good Bier joint. Nice neighborhood place in Brooklyn to wind down, hold a meet up with friends or to just chill. The service is friendly. The Beers are good and the food will please. Chess boards on the sidewalk tables. You can people watch as the vibrant diverse neighborhood flows by.
Nice place to have a drink with friends. Nice welcoming decor and a huge selection of beers and non alcoholic beverages. The food menu is very limited. Food is not so tasty, just okay. The apple strudel is good. They really need to improve their food menu and add some more varieties.

Great traditional German beer selection, excellent brats and other regional fare. Family friendly, rustic atmosphere and mixed clientele.

Paid $70 for 3 beers, a hot dog, and 2 small sausages. Food took 1 hour to come out even though it wasn’t busy when we arrived. Felt like the biggest ripoff in this neighborhood.
I found the food here boring. The pretzel was the best part of our meal.
Great beer and decoration, but an active cockroach problem (see them 5/6 times I've been there)
Stopped by one evening recently as I haven't gone in a while and was disappointed with the service. Long wait for drinks, waved hello to a roach near the bar, just not as great as I remember when Jack and Joe were around.
This place was awesome last Winter but completely changed in the Spring. A lot of specialties like Goulash and Bionade are completely gone. Even the unbelievable ice cream that used to come with Strudel has been replaced with the most generic store-bought kind. You also now have to go through a waitress to order foods and drinks, which I normally have nothing against, but doesn't work when 12 tables have to wait for the single waitress to come introduce herself. I'll pay your tip regardless just let me order from the bar... Edit: the reply to this should give you an idea of what the new management is like, taking reviews like attacks. Updating my rating further down, as requested
What’s not to love. Great beer choices! Extremely friendly, knowledgeable and efficient bartender. Update 4/30 - I used to love this place, but there’s a new bartender who just wasn’t friendly at all. I almost left, but after walking there, I really wanted a cold beer. $12 with a tip and attitude. I don’t think so.

This place is about SCAM! Worst customer service ever! They literally steal my money from their stupid paid system.. charged me $50 on hold and never back to my account. Totally scam! Careful guys!
The service has really dropped off here. The bartender was incredibly rude. Saw him yell at someone for bringing their dishes/mugs up? And yell at another for saying "hey" when it wasn't their turn but looked like they were waiting awhile?! What happened to this place? Looks like they cleaned house only to make it dirtier. Terrible service and roaches on site. PASS
The bartender was so blatantly racist and rude to my party. We were there celebrating our friends’ engagement. He knew that. he was devastatingly rude. wish i knew his name.
The atmosphere is okay. It stands out as a sore thumb as gentrification is slowly taking over this neighborhood so it naturally made me feel uncomfortable to even walk inside. The beer selection is the only thing that saves this place, the food is overpriced and sad. Every piece of food ordered just made me more sad as we kept holding on to some hope of vindication but to avail... sad place bursting with transplant hipsters that have already gentrified the rest of Brooklyn.
Wow, what an amazing experience. If you love waiting forever and being treated like a nuisance, this is the place for you! The bartender clearly missed their calling in customer service — rude, dismissive, and with the charm of a brick wall. Honestly, I didn’t know eye-rolling was part of the job description. 10/10 if you enjoy being ignored and disrespected.
I try to be very empathetic for all servers, especially on a holiday but this was unacceptable. The place wasn’t packed, only a few 3-4-tops and 2 2-tops seated outside. No one inside at this point. We sat at 5pm and the server told us the kitchen didn’t open until 5:30pm. We were bummed because we were hungry but figured it’s only half an hour and it’s probably a holiday schedule, we’re understanding. He didn’t come back to us until 6pm after going to every other table that was seated after us. Our food didn’t come until 7:10pm and my order was wrong. At this point it’s just like come on man, all you have to do is push the correct button on an iPad. We’ve been here for over 2 hours. What started as a 2-star review has been demoted to a 1-star because the server said multiple times that he “took care” of the incorrect order and since we couldn’t see the itemized receipt on the iPad, found out later (once reviewing the receipt sent to our phone) he did not actually “take care” of it. It’s one thing to mess up an order when you’ve already provided terrible service, but then to lie to the customers to what? Try to save your tip? This also came after he directly told me to “stop writing my bad review,” even though I didn’t even have my phone open. Well, now that you mention it I guess I will write this review. I hate having to write negative reviews but this wasn’t just poor management to blame, this guy just isn’t a good server.
I used to frequent this place plenty, but it has fallen apart. There used to be some really good bartenders there-Jack, Joe, Miko, but now there is some guy with dreadful and unkind service. I think there is a new chef as well. Place looks dirty now, it's lost its sense of fun, there's no atmosphere, and the only busy night is trivia night and that seems like an unwelcoming clique. Still an ACTIVE ROACH PROBLEM by the way. I would avoid at all costs
*I can't answer the owner's comment. No option. Yes I did call few days different time. You can check email sent June 5 if you really care. To begin with, I’d like to point out that no one responds to the phone number or email address provided on the website. On the evening of June 4th, 2025, I visited this bar. When I approached the bar counter, I saw a server who was talking to a customer that was closing out their bill. The server made eye contact with me. After that, an order was brought out from the kitchen. He checked who the order was for and took it to the customers. Then, when he returned to the counter, another order was brought out, and again, he figured out who it was for and took it to the customers. I greeted him and asked when he was going to pay attention to me. During all that time I was standing at the bar, he didn’t say a single word to me. He replied, “I’m not in the mood today. Get out of here if you don’t like it.” It seems that no one is going to respond to phone calls or emails either. Unfortunately, this server is damaging the bar’s reputation. The bar offers a very interesting selection of beers, but when I saw this same server again through the window on June 6th, 2025, I went to a neighboring bar instead. The establishment’s rating has been declining over the past few months — apparently since this server started working there. I have no complaints about the other staff — they are always friendly and provide high-quality service.
I used to frequent this bar when Joe and Jack were around, great service and atmosphere. Now the service is dead slow and roaches are everywhere. Even the chef is gone. Place reeks of mildew as well. Avoid at all costs
slow and dismissive service. one bartender, waited 20 mins to order and was ignored the whole time. just wound up leaving. bunch of kids running around w their parents too which was a weird vibe. would not recommend or come back.
I am so sorry to post this review. Tonight my family met up at what we thought is our new neighborhood bar. We had a few rounds of beer. We joined the trivia night. And because we are kosher-eating Jews, which is common in this area, I asked a staff member (which I only learned later was the trivia coordinator) if I could order pizza to eat outside, as I have done in other places around this neighborhood, and he said no problem. When the pizza arrived, two of our party went outside to take our turns eating food…a server came outside and told us to stop. Even when I explained what happened, and that the trivia coordinator told us we could eat our Kosher food outside, the server insisted we stop immediately. When we kept saying we wanted to continued the trivia and order more drinks, he finally went in and brought out the bartender who acted cold to us (after buying three rounds of drinks for our group with a potential for more). All in all, I am not sure why - if they bring in a trivia coordinator who makes a statement to us - that they wouldn’t just have the decency to back it up that one time and welcome us as customers… but instead make us embarrassed in front of their entire outside crowd!? Well, I am never going there again. And I will tell everyone in my neighborhood about how we were treated. This area has so many kosher Jews. It’s just not okay how we felt being shamed for the good faith we had when being told by someone we couldn’t know was an outside trivia coordinator that this was okay. We are always be try careful to not overstep bounds of proprietors.
Used to frequent this place. It’s really gone downhill over the last year. The service is really bad, the bartenders seem upset you even dare communicate with them about the existence of beer. Prepare to get ripped upon ordering. The lightning is awful, there’s always used glasses everywhere, and they don’t seem to wipe down the tables, which is why there’s probably roaches crawling around and getting better service than the customers. Trivia night is a drag as well, only the trivia people seem to get service that day. Food would be okay but it’s all served on paper plates, I noticed the hot cabbage burning right through it. It was a cool neighborhood spot before, seems like everyone who works there hates the neighborhood now. Try other spots.
If you can get service it’s really good beer (when their taps are working). We were going pretty regularly for trivia, but at this point every server we’ve ever had here has made it feel like a giant imposition to serve you beer, the only thing you’re asking of them. If you go to the bar to finally get service, you will be sent back to your table. It can take upwards of 45+ minutes. We will not be returning.
I live locally and have loved coming to this bar with friends but service has dropped off here, severely. I never write reviews for places but after seeing so many negative reviews from the past month on here (!!) I’ve decided to chime in. The bartender here is extremely rude and is harming this business's reputation. Just check the other numerous reviews! Even worse, there seems to be no acknowledgement or action taken by management to mediate. He gives poor service, has a bad attitude towards guests just trying to order and locals can see business is getting slower and slower. The service has typically been slow here even when the venue is “empty” but I come back because I like to support local businesses. There’s normally one cook in the kitchen and one bartender. They have some games in the back and during warmer weather they set out tables and chairs in front. Yes it’s a little pricey for the food and drinks. It could be cleaner and better maintained and I have seen some bugs crawling around. I heard trivia night is fun. I’m only going to comment on what I’d like to see as someone who enjoyed coming here in the past: please just be kind to your customers. Please try to communicate if you think it’ll take a little extra time for orders because that’s what guest hospitality is about. Please listen to those in the community who are offering feedback regarding the change in service here! For management: remember that the way that you respond to the community's negative feedback affects the relationship with your customers. I hope something changes because right now I'm steering clear.
Short and sweet: flavorful food menu that keeps expanding after feedback, scattered and inconsistent service for the 5 years I’ve gone, and flawless vibes. I just wish it could reach the levels I have wanted since 2020! I know they can do it but they just need better staffing and just being consistent. I will keep coming back no matter what due to their amazing beer and just hope that it’ll get better. Prost! Update 4 months later: This place still is impossible with the electronic payment always offline or not charged, and always the slowest experience. It’s a shame due to the great qualities otherwise. The bartender was insanely rude and corrected us during our order. I hate to say it, but I would skip coming here until further notice.
The worst service I have ever experienced. After forty minutes of waiting and asking and being told the sit at our tables to place an order they finally came, took my girlfriend’s order, I started placing mine ordering a beer and food and halfway through he put his finger up and walked away without a word. I had no idea if he got my order or not. He did bring my beer but my food never game. When he dropped off some other drinks nearby I tried to get his attention and he blatantly ignored me. All I wanted to do what verify he got he the half of the order I was able to say before he walked away abruptly and add the fries i wanted to order he never gave me a chance to order. He just ignored me intentionally. My girlfriend’s sandwich was brought 15 mins later and mine never came. I could never get him to listen to me the rest of the night. It was just pretty blatantly rude. It’s one thing to be busy it’s another thing to actively ignore. I’m mad I’m this annoyed.
This was my first time coming to this place after seeing it when walking around. When asked where the server would prefer I sit I was met with an eye roll and a sigh. After he begrudgingly sat me at a table I was passed over for over 20 minutes before I just stood up and left. He passed across me at least five times during that period and each time I tried to make eye contact with no avail. I was really excited to see what the beer was like but sadly no such luck. Even the customers next to me were shocked at how I had been treated
