Opiniones de Mille-feuille Brooklyn
Great French bakery in Park Slope. Our favorites were the ciabatta caprese sandwich and the Royal dessert. The sandwich was made that much better with caprese bread that had olives in it (which I love) and worked great with smoked Mozzarella cheese, pesto and tomato. We had both, the Mille-feuille and Royal cakes. While the Mille-feuille was very good (with caramelized layers of puff pastry and a rich pastry cream), the Royal was simply divine. The chocolate mousse was light and creamy sitting on top of yet more dark chocolate and a crunchy layer of praline.
The Chausson Aux Pommes are groovy...Lol. This means, I like ordering these tasty pastry treats at Mille-Feuille...I'm up ticking my review after my 2nd visit. Toby was terrific, it all started with a gracious greeting as I entered the patisserie. I felt very welcomed. My marvelous mocha was made- to-order and customized deliciously to my specifications along with some great suggestions from Toby. Yum! I appreciate Toby's upbeat and positive energy. I'm looking forward to my 3rd visit.
Came here to get the pistachio croissant which was not available. We got the almond croissant, blueberry danish and some other pastry. The chocolate one was amazing. No wonder they charged. 30 bucks for a very small size cake. Price was very steep for everything but it’s good stuff. The coffee was just okay.
Convenient French bakery on popular bike path to Prospect park. Needed to refuel the body with a boost of caffeine and some carbohydrates. Was not too busy but pastry selection seemed limited for 3 pm. The cappuccino tasted good and so did the lemon almond croissant 🥐. A bit much cream on the inside but it’s bourgeois expected. Ample seating outdoor but today only 3 tables set up.
Rating here a 3.8. We were in the area and decided to visit. My sister loves their macarons, so we made the stop. We lived in the area for years prior, so familiar with this spot. However, the experience this time was a bit cold. The cashier was not exactly rude, but dismissive. Felt like she wanted to rush us off to serve others. I did notice another review of a rude barista and giving dirty looks, I'll wildy assume it's the same woman. I ordered a chocolate chip cookie ($3 or $5) for myself and 6 macarons ($2.95 each). The cookie itself was a bit on the dryer side, lacked a bit of salt for that balance - judt too sweet perhaps. Not inedible. But only after sprinkling it with some sea salt. Overall, this is a neat spot in the area. But I am huge on customer service. With that said, I would not return here. Though the atmosphere is lovely, the help was unwelcoming. Management, if you want to be a long standing staple in Prospect Heights, hire people who enjoys serving others. Also, seems there's a price and quality issue. Certainly things to improve on.
The almond and pistachio croissants were ok, not amazing. I prefer Dominique ansel’s crosissants; they’re much flakier and light. The passion fruit and lemon macaron were mediocre as well. The lemon just had a lemon curd taste, which I didn’t like. Ladurée has significantly better macarons. Also they should hire more staff, as they only had one person working on a Saturday afternoon and there were a lot of customers.
Cute bakery shop with some twists into the classics. We had the Nutella croissant, the dough itself was good, the croissant was very very presentable but I think the Nutella cream was more of a chocolate cream (lacked hazelnut taste). +Bonus: They have a small water jug so you can grab a cup if you get thirsty.
The person taking orders was beyond rude, placed my croissant in the bag with his bare hand and added boxes of other items into the same paper bag on top of the uncovered croissant. When I complained that that was all very unsanitary he passive aggressively put the dirty croissant back in the case and gave me another. The Mille feuille had gone bad, the cream curdled and was spoiled. The chocolate mousse also tasted very old and stale and it had a hair in it. Literally never experienced that in a mousse dessert, it was gross. So disappointing all around
I’m disappointed. I really enjoy coming to this bakery but after today I will not return. It’s brisk outside. My cappuccino was lukewarm and honestly gross. It tastes like warm water. I got a delicious slice of pumpkin pie. Unfortunately when I asked to warm the slice I was told “it’s cheese in it why would I want to warm it?” I felt insulted so I warmed it at home. I don’t see anything wrong with warming a slice of pumpkin pie. I said “good morning” no response. Just really bad attitude and bad service. It cost nothing to be kind
