Opiniones de Molkajete Brooklyn
I was taken here for my birthday as a surprise and I loved it ! It wasn’t super packed , cause it was snowing so we didn’t have a crazy rush which I was thankful for. All the food was amazing and fresh, that was the best chorizo bowl I’ve ever had ! The flan was one of the birthday options that came out with a cute sparkler , I’m personally not a big fan of flan and our waitress was so sweet and thoughtful she gave us another dessert in replacement. Definitely recommend for a birthday celebration or even a catch up session with friends. 💛
Really good freshly made food. I've been there twice with friends and will definitely be going back. We ordered alot off the menu each time. All fantastic. All uniquely flavored and cooked perfectly. Solid cocktails too.
Fantastic Mexican and Peruvian food. The ceviche and molkajete dish are packed with flavor, and the cocktails are creative. Cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and fair prices. Don't skip the desserts-they're rich and delicious. Great spot for brunch or dinner with friends.
Very pleasent environment. Delicious food. Very reasonable prices. Surprise dessert on the house made by the chef, and it was out of this world. See the pictures find the dessert. Highly recommend.
Cute place for a family dinner or date. Good service and didn't have to wait too long for food. Portions are good, prices are good and they have a happy hour for drinks. Casava fries were perfectly made. The burrito bowl with chicken was also tasty and hit the spot. We also tried the Peruvian soda which was tasty and similar to cream soda.
They were fantastic and very kind. The food was very tasty. They gave us an amazing surprise for my birthday. Totally will comeback
El Quetzal uses blue curaçao in the pineapple rainbow simulating the namesakes plumage. The Molkajete comes with soft, lightly sweet, corn tortillas, beans, rice, pico de gallo and their chipotle-ish and cilantro-ish sauces. The "Chocolate Mousse" is a beautifully airbrushed pink white mousse with chocolate and cherries, reminiscent of Black Forest cake-a spin on tradition.
We were celebrating a birthday there. What a welcoming beautiful place with delicious food. Literally every dish we ordered was tasty. We loved the atmosphere, excellent service and great food. Definitely coming back for the best ceviche. Update: we came back many times now. Great service, delicious food. Try the nachos and fried cheese. Jalea was so good we had to order one more. Also there was live music. Felt very nice and cozy
Beautiful dinner this evening! I forgot to take photos of the amazing and perfectly cooked chicken wings, and of our lovely margaritas! Our dinner was spectacular! Enchiladas were delicious, the chicken tender, the sauce tangy and perfect temperature. The flan for dessert and beautiful dessert shot topped everything off perfectly. The manger and sister were both so attentive and helpful. We will definitely be back!!
Amazing meal with family visiting from out of town! Lovely service, delicious food, and amazing drinks. Highly recommend! They went out of their way to make a member of our party celebrating their birthday feel very special.
Molkajete is an amazing family owned establishment. I highly recommend trying the ceviche and the steak. We will be coming here anytime we are in the neighborhood.
Authentic Mexican food with awesome price!! Molkajete only $35 you get steak, sausage, roasted pork and chicken. Steak only $27. Family business so the taste is consistent. I recommend everyone stop by for the food and a glass of Classic Margarita!
Went here on a whim to check it out. Service was great. We LOVED the seafood jalea. The happy hour specials are pretty good too. $10 cocktails and margs that were made great and not too sweet. For dessert we got the lotus berry bloom (white chocolate mousse stuffed with mixed berries) which was very different, but so good! We’ll definitely be back!
SO good. Everything we ordered was amazing, especially the ceviche, and service was great. Will definitely be back.
Great place with delicious food and wonderful service! Absolutely loved it! I can only add empty dishes as a proof 😂
This place is spectacular! The food was packed with flavor and authenticity. The ambiance of this restaurant makes you feel like your “out” and to have a great time- the quality of the food makes sure of that. I had the Tostadas ($13), fried yuca, tostones (both $6) AMAZING prices for what you get especially on the apps. Fried tortillas and beans to start. With this location right next to the 25th st train station, I will 100% be back soon. Also, this was the nicest presentation for tostadas I have ever seen in my life, bravo!

Stumbled across this unassuming Peruvian restaurant and what a delightful find! The food and drinks were absolutely spectacular. The ceviche was hands down one of the best I’ve ever had—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Owner/management: please make the ceviche trio appetizer a regular menu item, not just for Saturday brunch… that dish is bomb! It would be amazing if there were even more paella choices, as we’d definitely love to try them all. Their drinks—both alcoholic and non-alcoholic—were fantastic, creative, and refreshing. Desserts were just as impressive: beautifully presented, fresh, and a perfect way to end the meal. Lucy and Mandy were exceptional—warm, attentive, and made our dining experience even more memorable. Highly recommend this hidden gem! We can’t wait to come back.

My family appreciates both the food quality and value here. Staff members delivered remarkable care. The dishes showed unexpected finesse. The staff makes you feel welcome and the food is good, with big servings at modest prices. The existing feedback properly describes this spot.
The restaurant is small and cozy, offering an intimate dining space. However, the service left much to be desired — the server appeared disengaged and unwelcoming. The atmosphere was also underwhelming, with background music that felt out of place and almost too dull, making it difficult to enjoy the setting. On a positive note, the food was delicious. We ordered the Jalea for two, Ceviche and the Leche de Tigre, which were flavorful and well-prepared. That said, I found the prices to be on the higher side. In particular, one alcoholic drink was $17–18, which feels excessive for Brooklyn, especially when many restaurants in the area serve comparable drinks for under $15. Overall, it was a new experience for us, and while the food impressed, the lackluster service, uninspiring ambiance, and high prices make it unlikely that I would return.
The drinks were good. Bartender was not engaging and was on phone for most of the time. 3 different infused tequilas on the bar I may have tried if asked but no conversation at all. Not sure we will be back even though we live up the block. Food was good and the cooks in kitchen were on point!!

Just tried this place for the first time with husband and baby because they had such high ratings. Not sure why we got so unlikely, we ordered the chicken and rice dish, and the vegetable fajitas. The rice was bland, the salad was super salty, the chicken was dry and not flavorful, the fajita was nothing to write home about. We were so disappointed and our server lady wasn't super friendly. I heard other dishes were fantastic based on the reviews but unfortunately we didn't know what to order. Tried to ask the server her opinion but she was really meh about everything. Very disappointed , won't be returning
I really wanted to like Molkajete Restaurant and Bar, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing from start to finish. I ordered via Uber Eats and reached out to the restaurant privately to share my concerns before posting publicly, but I never received a response or any acknowledgment. My lomo saltado was extremely disappointing — it arrived without the fries or potatoes, was overly sweet, and was cooked well-done even though I specifically requested medium. It was honestly inedible and I ended up throwing it away. The ceviche was just okay, but it was poorly packed — the plantains were placed in the same container, leaving them soggy. The few that weren’t soggy tasted stale. The only positive part of my order was the sangria, which was very good. Overall, I was truly disappointed by both the food quality and the lack of response from the restaurant. I won’t be ordering from here again.
