The Fly has a great atmosphere for a slow evening with a close friend. Grab a glass of natural wine and a chicken sandwich for dinner. If you're splitting plates with your friend make sure to pick up the potatoes and some bread so you can sop up the broth left behind. Friendly staff who are knowledgeable about their wine selection and a winning soundtrack make this place a must go.

Ok, I never write reviews, but I've had two phenomenal experiences at The Fly and needed to share!! Not only is the atmosphere perfect (lighting, candles, sexy, ENERGY, music!!) and food perfectly executed (cesar with the crispiest romaine! The green beans! The green sauce! The potatoes! The chicken!!!) but what stands out to me most is the hospitality. It's exceptional. Warm, inviting, attentive, playful. You feel taken cared of, special, safe, and like you belong – I truly cannot say that about many places in NYC where folks are jaded and, in my opinion, have lost the art of true hospitality. This is a neighborhood spot I will return to again and again and again. HUGE shoutout to Hector and Peter for giving us two amazing experiences both times. We had a blast and that's really what it's all about. We love you guys!! Thank you for all that you do – it's really important work. xx

Ordered half a chicken for delivery and it was bomb. Perfect rotisserie chicken, amazing broth in the box, lemony notes. FAB. I saw a local guide's review say the chicken should have a "little less seasoning"....literally no one has ever said that in the history of chicken eating. They also said it's not crispy enough (huh?) this is a perfect ROTISSERIE chicken. Not fried chicken. Rotisserie. Anyway. I hope to come by in person and try the sides.

Fun, lively spot for great food and good wine selection. Seating is first come first serve basis, but you can order food at the bar if you find a seat there. Quite popular means quite busy, and at times it was hard to get the bartenders attention. The whole chicken really was amazing (get the white sauce), as were the cooked greens and fries.

Very cool space, they have small menu with just a few options. Basically, they make rotisserie chicken, and they make it very well. Large wine selection, very knowledgeable staff. My only complaint is that it's a bit LOUD for a wine bar, or at least it was when I was there on opening night. I wish they would add some sound-absorbing features, as the stucco walls and tile floors don't really do much to deaden noise.

Short version: I almost don’t want to give this place a good review because it’s so good I want to keep it to myself. Their menu is simply a choice of whole or half chicken, chicken sandwich, and a list of sides. Sounds simple, but let’s admit it- every human would rather be eating some perfectly cooked chicken with delicious sides at all times. On top of that, their wine list is well curated and the cocktails are 🔥. Try the White Negroni and if you’re lucky enough to be there a night they are serving wings, GET THEM.

The simple menu belies a majestic depth of flavor. The restaurants aesthetic is elegant enough to reflect the quality of the cooking and service but is approachable and humble enough that it's an easy place to relax and unwind. Hector was among the best servers we'd ever had.

What can I say, simplicity at it's best. The menu is simple but fantastic with bursting tastes. Roasted Chicken with Potatoes or fries OMG I had both. The succulent taste of the herbs on the chicken married with both the Fries and the Potatoes with the chicken ju. It still is calling me back. Oh yeah the White Sauce. The Lime and Ginger cooler (non alcoholic) was AMAZING. I had like 3 or maybe 4. Cannot say enough. Am yearning for more. Please believe I will be back.

This place is really nice. I went there with a friend of mine with another friend that lives in NY and he suggested we go there. It is nice to go to a place that serves a lot of natural wine with an interesting food menu and not the typical stuff you can find at virtually any other small plates wine bar. The chicken sandwich was just what I needed after a long day travelling and the green beans were perfectly cooked and also great job on making a caesar salad that actually tastes good. Beyond the food the service was great, the manager/host Crystal (forgive me if I have misspelled your name) was extremely lovely and very warm. The owner Nick who we happened to bump into at another restaurant nearby made sure my friend and I had a great experience at his restaurant. Definitely will be back next time i'm in the city.

Outstanding spot. I think the first thing to know off the bat: this place does chicken and cocktails exceptionally well. Your chicken options are basically whether you want to go with the roasted chicken, or pulled chicken sandwich. Both are Outstanding in their own way, but I prefer the roasted chicken. Their marinate is a beautiful orange citrus and man is it good. Also, definitely get some fries. They are really good, and very large, so prepare to share. I would highly recommend sitting outside because they have a really nice setup, however if you're vaccinated I believe you may sit inside, and there are lots of tables. Proof of vaccination required for inside, so make sure you bring it.

Food wise, the streamlined menu basically makes your decision for you - you just pick the nuance: whole chicken, half, or chicken sandwich. No matter what you choose, the chicken is tender and deeply flavorful. Sides include fries, roasted potatoes, salad, olives, fresh bread and green beans. Options, but not an overwhelming amount. They have a curated selection of wine, delicious cocktails and lots of spirits to choose from, as well as some zero-proof options for when you don’t feel like drinking alcohol. This spot is cozy and reliable.

“Chicken restaurant” indeed. Delicious roast chicken sitting in a bed of it’s own salty-sweet juices, served with a simple selection of sides by a friendly and warm staff. Several wine options. Tomato salad pictured was seasonal and on-point. Perhaps one of those, “I can probably make this at home” or, “what’s wrong with a store-bought rotisserie chicken?” dilemmas. Both fine options but nothing beats an atmosphere.

We came early on a Friday night with our toddler. Our server was so kind and attentive, making sure we, including our toddler, were happy! The food was so good and the highlight for us was the Caesar salad and the asparagus, which was the special that night. The chicken was also really delicious. We will definitely be back.

One of the best places in Brooklyn to have a dinner with your friends for a special occasion. I made a reservation through Resy, which initially could only accommodate 8 people but when I emailed The Fly to add more spots they were prompt and very helpful. On the day of our crowd shrunk a little but the team there helped set up the table for our smaller crew despite how busy it was. They continually checked in while people were getting settled in, then they began serving the pre fix menu right away- they also brought an additional veggie friendly sandwhich for our vegetarian friend. The food was abundant and delicious and the servers were so bubbly and hospitable. Our server brought the cake and candles out for our friend’s birthday as soon as they cleared the table (with no additional fee) then they sliced it up and offered everyone a piece. We all had such a wonderful time, the ambience was perfect, we didn’t feel rushed nor ignored in the Friday night bustle. Truly just phenomenal experience.

Service, atmosphere and drinks are excellent, food is only decent. The chicken concept would have been great three years ago, now it feels like yesterday's news. They could get a Bib Gourmand if they bumped up the food a little.

The chicken was tasty and flavorful but overpriced. $18 for a half chicken. The salad was $11. Decent sized salad and tasted fresh and crunchy the taste was alittle tangy/vingery for my preference but that depends on the person. I loved the atmosphere and music was great (funk, soul, R&B, hip-hop). I went on a school night so it was not packed. Would be a good place to take someone to meet for drinks and have a nice conversation where you can hear each other talk. Never been on the weekends.

The Caesar salad was the true MVP with home anchovie dressing. 😋 Downsides? The staff can be slow, and it’s always so loud that you have to lip-sync your order.

I’ll start by saying the food was absolutely outstanding. Everything from the chicken, all the sides, and even the salad was incredibly delicious. However I don’t know that I would recommend this place for large groups. The biggest problem was that it was incredibly loud and hard to hear in there. Like actual shouting to hear the person next to you, it’s really difficult to talk to anybody not immediately next to you (and even then it’s not easy to hear). Our service also wasn’t great, they set down our food and didn’t come back to the table for like 30 minutes and they only refilled our water when asked. All this is frustrating when you’re getting hit with the mandatory 20% gratuity for groups (which is fine but at the very least keep the waters filled and ask us if we want more drink orders).

Came here yesterday for dinner at the bar and it was scrumptious! I really liked how the menu wasn’t overwhelming. I am definitely returning with a friend and getting the half chicken. I decided on the chicken sandwich, fries, and Caesar salad. The salad was lightly dressed, crisp and yummy. Definitely recommend. The seasoning on the fries were unexpected but I felt it paired nicely with my sandwich and the ketchup. I’m not sure I would order or recommend the chicken sandwich. The celery and radish I saw didn’t add to its taste. I expected the chicken sandwich to be as flavorful as the fries but it wasn’t. It tasted good, I liked the bun, and it was big enough for me to take home but not my favorite. From my scan around the restaurant this looks like the perfect place dinner before going out with a group of friends.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while, the few times I’ve tried to get a table it’s been extremely busy so I knew this place would live up to the hype. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed. While I can agree, the chicken is tender and juicy it lacked flavor. However, the white it was paired with is extremely delicious. The Cesar Salad was alright, had a fishy after taste so definitely wasn’t mg favorite. I truly enjoyed the fries and love place that automatically serves them with mayo. Overall I’d have to give this place a 3.5/5

First time visiting, and it was an amazing experience. The food was great, but not the best I’ve had. The chicken was pretty good, but it could’ve been a bit crispier and a little less seasoned. The Potatoes were AMAZING! We went for a friends birthday and did family style dinner which was a great experience. The service was A1 our waitress tended to all our needs and was within arms reach whenever needed. The atmosphere was great. It took about 10 minutes to be seated, there were an influx of people. I had an amazing time here

Vibe/ambience is really cool. Minimalist while also classy/cozy. The food was nothing special though. I've had much better chicken at to-go Peruvian spots. Ours was crazy salty and couldve used a lot more time in the oven, which is what I did with the leftovers when I got home.

Food is excellent. Host, wonderful. Service - at least at the bar - was consistently unpleasant to nonexistent the whole time. It was just really bad. I understand it's busy but if the bartenders had tried, they couldn't have been less attentive. Is this not considered part of their job ? We were not asked a single question the entire time- whether we wanted another drink, how the food was, or if we needed anything. Being patient and trying to catch their attention was completely ineffective. No eye contact, bare minimum of interaction and overall unfortunately very unwelcoming and disappointing for such a great place otherwise.

The dirty martini was a hit, however the food was not good. The fries were too salty and the chicken could use some additional buffalo sauce or a bit of salt. You’d think with the long lines the food would be decent.

I found this place on Google maps(explore). From the reviews, the place was a vibe. I get seated at the bar order a drink and some food. I'm not sure, but as soon as I started taking pictures and videos, the vibe changed. I ignored it and just ate my food . All of a sudden, the servers switched side. I go back to eating my food. When I ready to pack up what's left of my food . I Raise my hand to get the servers attention. They look at me and Proceed to ignore me. The other server notice that i'm trying to get their attention. Walks around the other side of the bar. Where this server is where they think that I can't see them and begin to ask the other server questions or tell that server something I guess the first server tells the second sever something whatever the situation the second servers proceed to take my order and service me. Now this server service was up right disrespectful. When i ask for my food to be wrap up they handed me a box no bag . I ask for another drink and this server handle it with such forced that it spill At this point I was like wait . This is my first time here ever, and this is how they treat you. I decided to try a Dessert, when I asked the server. If they had desserts they proceeded, tell me very little about the dessert that they had because it was obvious that they did not know. Didn't name or what to say? The dessert was so I asked if I could try it. They said they they don't give samples. And I was like wait what? I didn't ask for a sample that acts if I could try it. It was too much for me. That pad me at Woodson. I asked for the check. She threw the check at me so I took them only a dollar. The service sucks. I felt like they really rude me. I could be wrong or whatever, but. That's not. I've never had service duncan like that ever ever.

Nice atmosphere! But the Monday night bartender seemed to be annoyed having to take care of me. For no reason, she was very rude and was giving me an attitude. It's truly disheartening to encounter such unprofessional behavior in what should be a welcoming and enjoyable environment. I’m also in the industry, so single thank you is a must - didn’t get any!

I came in excited to try this place but left pretty disappointed. I am not sure if there is a difference between to go and dine in, but I drove about ten minutes home and by the time I arrived, the fries were completely soggy from how they were packaged. I was not a fan of most of the sauces and honestly felt it was a waste of money to pay three dollars for a sauce, though the aioli was good. The Caesar salad was good and a generous portion, which was one of the better parts of the meal. While ordering, the music inside was extremely loud. When talking to the bartender, we basically had to yell at each other just to communicate. I am not sure why a restaurant needs the music at that level. They could easily keep the same vibe by lowering it a bit. The best thing on the menu was the ricotta donuts, but they were overpowered by the lemon. They would be better off skipping it altogether or adjusting the recipe. As for the chicken, it was fine. Nothing special, not bad, just okay.

our friends and i had the worst dining experience ever! we began the night with a mixup on the chicken dinner, but despite apologizing and being professional, we were treated with such little regard. our waiter was extremely rude and condescending, despite our many efforts to be respectful. we had a birthday, and at the end, after asking her two times if we could get a candle with the dessert (she kept saying she would “check” to see if there were any candles, even though there were multiple birthdays that night), she rushed over, threw the donuts on the table with such force that the candle went out. she saw it happen and walked away. yes, the food was good, but is it worth coming back? no! in a room full of white people in BED STUY, our table of color was treated horrendously. we spent the entire night flabbergasted by our waiter’s attitude. she would throw things at the table, spilled wine, and would shove us while sitting. it was so horrible we didn’t even want to tip, but still did, regardless. 2/10 experience, perhaps even a 1. if you’re a person of color, be weary of going here. the waiter is a short white woman with blond hair and glasses. shame on you.

Walked in and the bartender and one of the host both made eye contact and did not approach me. Both stared like I didn’t belong. When I tried to speak the immediately looked off.
