My go to spot just a few mins away from the crowds. Amazing food, amazing ppl, and they play Rugby on the screens. Big plus for me
Very similiar to pubs back in Dublin. Deadly spot!
Such a brilliant Irish pub with an unbeatable atmosphere and genuinely lovely people. The service was exceptional — Colm and Eva were absolutely fantastic, so friendly, attentive, and great craic. They really went above and beyond and made the whole experience feel special. Massive thanks as well to Tony in the kitchen — an incredibly kind person and the food was amazing. You can tell there’s real pride and care behind it. One of those places that reminds you what a great pub experience should be. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return.
Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The service and atmosphere were top-class and really made the visit special. Huge thanks to Colm and Eva for their outstanding waiter service — both were so friendly, attentive, and genuinely lovely people who made us feel so welcome. And a special mention to Tony in the kitchen — incredibly kind and amazing at what he does. You can really feel the care that goes into the food. Can’t recommend this place enough. We’ll definitely be back!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Long Hall Pub & Grocery The Long Hall Pub & Grocery is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and full of character—exactly what a great pub should be. The food is outstanding: fresh, beautifully prepared, and packed with flavor. Every dish feels thoughtfully made, using quality ingredients that really shine. The service deserves special praise. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do, the staff make you feel right at home without ever being intrusive. Add to that a great selection of drinks and the unique charm of the grocery side, and you’ve got a place that truly stands out. Whether you’re stopping in for a relaxed meal, a drink with friends, or something special from the shop, The Long Hall Pub & Grocery delivers on every level. Highly recommended—five stars without hesitation.
Watched. Derry city FC. In the Bar Derry v st pats Great evening. And score. Great Staff.
I thought the prime spot guaranteed their success, but it's really their service standards. This restaurant has a good energy. The staff exhibited genuine friendliness. The meal combines freshness with beautiful presentation. I'm ready to make another reservation!
This restaurant feels like it was created just for people like me. The food options were presented clearly. Some choices exceed others but all are good. Warm team, tasty food, and pleasant surroundings! Delicious food and exceptionally welcoming service.
Man Utd were playing Man City at the Ethihad whilst we were holidaying in NYC so we went to the really quaint Long Hall Pub & Grocery Irish bar to watch the match live on their giant screens It was 11:30am in the US when the match kicked off so we just had mugs of tea with my Full Irish breakfast (with proper British bacon, not the crappy thin streaky American rubbish😋) and a sausage butty for my wife. Both were delicious, really good proper Irish Pub grub They have Guiness, a selection of other beers and spirits and there's a lovely friendly vibe with plenty of Craic in this charming Irish pub so we'll probably come back one evening for a few drinks as it's only a 6 min walk from our hotel in mid-town Manhattan😉 They actually have an Irish barman and Irish customers in an Irish bar abroad!🤣 The only thing that ruined our time at the bar was watching a dismal Man Utd team losing 3 - 0 in an ineffectual system that clearly isn't working but their manager refuses to change - "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results,"🫣😤 We enjoyed our first visit to the bar so much we went back a couple more times during our 12 days in NYC. On a Saturday night to enjoy a few pints of Brooklyn Brewery IPA beer, Guinness, Jamesons Irish Whisky & chicken nachos and on our last afternoon to watch the Man Utd v Chelsea match whilst enjoying our full Irish breakfasts. A special mention to Shaun our super friendly barman who looked after us so well on all 3 visits.
One of the best pints in the city! Great atmosphere, but know it can get quite rowdy. The food is nothing to write home about, but the Guinness flows well and the staff are friendly. You might even see some drunken karaoke… which is a plus! You’d find it hard to find a better pint in the city!
This is a good solid Irish Pub / sports bar in Midtown south. Drinks were nice and cold, service was spot on. We didn't get any food, but I will next time I go. There are TVs everywhere so if you don't like sports, this is probably not your place 😊 Nice tall ceilings help with the noise. The bathrooms are clean too 👍
We wandered in here looking for a quiet place to grab dinner. This fit the bill! The food was great. I had the Shepherds pie, and it was amazing. I had 2 kids with me, and they struggled to find something from the menu as there is no kids menu. They ended up getting a quesadilla and liked it.
Server rang up a higher tip than I wrote down, and they charge credit card fees despite that being nowhere on the menu. Food is average at best, no reason to go back. The manager should do something about the fraud his staff are committing, but I'll let my cc deal with it.
It was shockingly not good. I'd previously heard decent things about the pub. Boy, was I in for a surprise. Originally, I was ordering fish and chips. Unfortunately, they were randomly out of it (on a week day, too) Let's start from the beginning. Walking in, the first thing I noticed was that there was no accessibility button, nor anyone to open the door. (Huge red flag) There were about 15- 30 tables total (it's semi split into "2 rooms") , but there were only about 6 tables of people (including my brother and I). I would say, maybe 12 people total. I thought that was going to be a great thing...it wasn't. There was only 1 table with a booth... the rest were high-top bar chairs. Again, where is the accessibility?! There was supposed to be live music (per their advertising outside and inside), but there wasn't. I'd asked if they could put on France's match, but the staffer (not sure what their role was) that I asked seemed quite confused, then disappeared after we asked for beers. Another person (waitress) came a good while later and asked about our bevs. We assumed the keg might've been tapped or something because it was taking quite a while. We never received water. We ended up ordering the shepherds pie and a medium burger and fries. The burger was so over cooked, I swear the cow was back for revenge. The shepherds pie was very tasteless, which is tragic for such a simple and well-known dish. But the fries....it was like Jesus himself planted, cut and cooked them 🤣. I know that seems obscene, but they really were perfect. The noise level wasn't bad... but then again, was only like 6 tables in the whole place. I can't get over the extreme lack of accessibility. And that the only booth is right in front of the restroom. Unfortunately, it was being held for a small group (semi understandably as they were there first ) While sitting and trying to eat, a guy walked up and started grabbing things. Not clearing the table ( after all, we were actively eating), but just grabbing. He'd had parts of my utensils and my napkin in his hands before I could say, "No ,thank you. We're still eating. " I now needed new utensils as his hands were all over my fork. I could have dealt with it, had it not been the whole mouth of the fork. The guy seemed very stressed, so I just didn't worry about it. Besides, we'd had enough. We couldn't finish our meal and had been waiting almost 45 mins before anyone else returned so we could ask for the check (which took another 24 mins). We assumed the computer must've been broken, but when I leaned to signal one of the waitresses, they were just standing there chatting. Again, I assumed "there must be something happening." Fed up and seeing the sheer pain I was in from the chairs, my brother asked again for the check; this time a bit firmly, which earned us the evil looks as we left. We paid for our meals and headed out of the door. While thinking to myself, "Well, it could have been worse. At least we know now. Maybe they're having an off day. We will have to try again another time when they're better organized, and their accessibility meets the bare minimum. "....the waitress chased after us yelling,"Guys!". She'd asked if there was something wrong with the food because of the tip. Seeing the shocked look on my brother's face and hearing the stern tone in his voice when he responded, "yea, the service. We should have been out of here an hour ago, "I intervened and listed a few of the issues we'd experienced. There wasn't an explanation or apology. She simply scoffed and walked back inside. Unfortunately, her audacity to chase after a customer 😒 after such mediocre service was the final nail in the casket. The tasteless and dry food (except for the fries), The lack of accessibility and The lack of professionalism of the staff is all the reasons why this pub is on my "not worth it"
