I had a burger....it was ok for a frozen burger the fries were frozen too ... again ok, just too many..... my husband had the haddock that he really enjoyed. The menu is great. I had tomato and feta melt on pita bread. It was great. I had a bowl of French onion soup that was awesome. The waitress are all awesome so nice.

My home is near the Union Family so I practically live there. It's THE place to go if you want terrific value for your $. I won't mention any names of other restaurants in the vicinity but I have tried the souvlaki at all of them (when the UF was closed for the night, obviously). UF has the best. Try the specials, soup, honey fried chicken, potato pancakes...

I am not from this area, I am making a delivery and had time to get some food, was wanting a hot meal, I am glad I stumbled into this place, very nice people, the food was very good, a lot of food for the price, I had the pork chops and Apple sauce, two large chops and a sweet potato, apple sauce, salad and a roll, less then ten dollars, the only small issue I had was the meat wasn't seasoned but it had seasoned bread crumbs, other then that it was very good and made to feel at home, I will return, thank you to all the people working there

I adore this restaurant! Nobody ever has soup and Union Family has it all the time!!!!!!!! The soup is always HOT and so tastey! The service itself is amazing and I always fell so welcomed!! THE PRICES ARE AMAZING!!

Great food!! The fish fry was exceptional with a generous portion of cole slaw and macaroni salad. You also get a choice of potato along with rye bread. The restaurant is clean, friendly staff and plenty of tables. We went on Ash Wednesday and I expected it to be packed with people...there were plenty of booths available. I HIGHLY recommend it!!

This hidden gem is worth the stop. I had to have some work on my car next door. Instead of waiting at the shop i went to this place. The owner came out and welcomed me. I had my computer with me and explained that i was killing time. I ordered a fried baloney and onion sandwich. The owner said stay as long as you want. Great lunch for 10.00 (6.00 tab 4.00 tip). Ive been back 3 times since. All because of their kindness..and baloney was awesome.

Best place for a VERY reasonably priced "Souvlaki". Give you a great portion (hubby is 6'8 300 lbs) and he is full after eating this dish. Service is quick and friendly. We highly recommend you give this little place a try. You'll be pleasantly surprised at just how good their food is!

We were in town for a hockey tournament and used Yelp to give us some comfort food suggestions. This came up and glad it did. Good food, fast service and inexpensive. They even had some keto friendly specific items on the menu. We'll be back.

This is our go to Family restaurant. Food reminiscent of family recipes. Great breakfasts for starting the day. Great soups for taking of the chill. Servers remember our preferences so just easy and comfortable visits.

Best hashbrowns I've had in WNY. I liked that I could sit at the front counter, and the service was fast. Menu had a lot of options and the prices were very good. If I lived closer I'd be going here every weekend for breakfast.

Just took the family to Niagara falls. Spared no expense there on the finest dining and accommodations. On our drive back home we stopped at this little diner where we met my in-laws who are truck drivers and happened to be in this town. The food here was vastly better than anything we had on our entire trip. I would drive the 8 hours from my home, just to eat here again.

We were searching for a homestyle diner and this did not disappoint ! Might have had the best breakfast I've ever had in my life. We're canadian and I ordered the Country Benny and my boyfriend got the Country fried steak and eggs. The gravy is delicious and the home fries were perfect ! Update: We went there yesterday for breakfast. Omelets were great. Very affordable prices. The best prices for breakfast. Follows all Health guidelines. The waitress was very friendly. That is always consistent. Previous review: My husband really liked the 'kitchen garbage' plate. It's different than the dish that originated in Rochester, NY that the College students are crazy about. He enjoyed it tremendously. It was such a large portion that he actually brought 1/2 of the meal home for later. That is a first for him Never a wait and food comes out pretty quick.

One of the true last mom-and-pop restaurant's, my family has been going there for years I remember going there when I was 5 yours old (26 Now) for Sunday breakfast every Sunday and still go here to this day, one of the few restaurants left that you get to know everybody that works there and they know you. Has the best fish fry around tried almost all the places over the years! Get one every week still to this day. Great prices,great food,great service. Tons of restaurants have come and gone over the years but here seems to stick around stuck in time which is a good thing. Highly recommended and truly supporting local run business, it's not some chain restaurant like some others that care more about money than actual service or food.

Love this place! Portions are large, service is super friendly. Some of their menu items seem a little high for what you're getting but I understand that its a family owned place and not a chain and food costs are higher for them. I wish they would give you a side of fries when you order a sub or some sandwiches instead of having to order them separate but thats just my opinion. I try to stop here at least once a month. The Hash and Holly is amazing!!!

The Union Family Restaurant was a great little find. From the outside it looked a little dated. inside did nothing to persuade me otherwise. The food however took a home town feel and raised the bar. Amazing food, a wait staff that was attentive without being overbearing. Prices that are not at all indicative of the large portions we got and quality that made me put this place into my phone for future visits. Highly recommend stopping here!

This restaurant has been around for at least 25 years that I know of and today was my very first visit. It does look closed as the main sign was destroyed by weather and not repaired. It is indeed open for business! Unfortunately, a sign on the door says it’s cash only. There is an ATM on premise. It’s one way they keep their food prices very reasonable. It’s got that old dingy greasy spoon diner type of feel. One where they put their best effort into their cooking than their appearance. I ordered the “Cowboy Burger” with cream of potato soup as a side. All I can say is WOW! The soup was homemade and really good. Every aspect of the burger was nice and fresh. Yes, the grounds outside and inside could use some TLC… but this mom and pop place has managed to survive the pandemic. If they continue with their awesome food and maybe fix the sign so people besides the regulars know that they are open, I’m sure their business will thrive well into the future. I’ll definitely be back to try another dish soon.

I love this place I go there every now and then. It's not every week but you know. I never had a bad experience here so that why ill take my wife and my kids there and I recommend the place to everyone I know. But last Saturday morning I went with my wife and my wife get in first because I was parking the car when a walk in my wife tell me the the table we want to sit is not available I ask why she said because the waitress told me that it was a party coming to the table. Which was fine but the same lady tell us the it was no problem and we can sit there. (Let me explain my self here I'm a big man and its only two tables I can fit on it that's why) ok I ask her if is any problem it if everything was good everything ok and she said yes to all everything it's ok. So we sit and she bring the drinks we order my wife finish her hot chocolate she pass by us never ask her if she wants something else or more. Them she bring our food and 2 seconds letter she bring the ticket like are you serious I'm not even dig in to my plate and you bring the ticket do you want me out of here. Them people star walk in and there she goes hogging and talking really low like whispering but everyone who she hogs and kiss look to our table with make me feel uncomfortable because I have no problem to live and come back later but don't tell me everything it's ok and then try to take me out of here literally. And when we ask her why you bring the ticket so soon she said o we always do that and that's a lie because I never had that done before. She just want us out of there so her friends or good tips can sit there. and how I now that because I paid walk out of there and I was not even near my car I look through the window and everyone who she hogs and kiss were moving to the table like I said I love the place but that it's not right thank u. .... it was the table in the left corner son you walk in

It was my first time here. For a Saturday 8am this place was a ghost town. Now I know why. Food and service were just ok, nothing special. Although the waitress was very attentive about topping off our coffee. This is a cash only establishment and I appreciate that it was on the door as I do not carry cash.

Upon walking it I was not greeted nor was I told that I could sit anywhere I liked. I stood at the door for a few minutes before someone finally told me that I could grab a seat wherever. The server was very polite. I ordered the 2+2+2. The French toast had no cinnamon and it tasted like they dunked the bread in egg and cooked it. That's it. It tasted like pure egg. You could even see the egg white on the edges of the bread. The eggs and sausage was good. My friend ordered the Banana Walnut pancakes and her pancakes were not fully cooked. I'd only come back here because the prices were cheap and service was quick. I wouldn't come back because of the food.

Great food but waitress really had an attitude. Food came quickly & was very reasonable. Restroom stalls extremely small & dated but served it’s purpose. Would eat here again. Maybe waitress was having a bad day, but never checked on us, offered refills & we had to flag her down to place our order.

Slow service, rude wait staff, cash only. Excellent coffee, mediocre food. When I don't feel welcomed in a restaurant, I never feel the need to return. It's as simple as that.

They don't take debit cards like everyone else in modern times. They say they're 24-hours but I've seen them be closed almost every time I've tried to go here.

Dirty, with dirty ceiling tiles from what looks to be water damage. The food was fair but there was one thing missing from the table, the little jelly packets. It was 915 on a Sunday, I asked the waitress and she told me the owner thinks people are stealing them. She brought over the little dispenser THEY WERE ALL MIXED FRUIT. The waitress was good and efficient. The place only deals with cash, I guess he doesn't want to pay taxes. I wont be back. If I was asked for advice Id say paint the place paint or replace the ceiling tiles and get with the times.

Was looking forward to a good meal. My husband and I parked infront of the restaurant. Before we entered the waitress was staring at us through the window. She looked at us again before we entered. I wasn't sure why she was staring. We was greeted by the manager who was genuinely nice. We walked all the way to our seats, I sinced an uncomfortable vibe around me. The waitress was very phony with her kindness. I did not like her demeanor at all. She loved the man with "Make American great again" hat... Manager please hire people who don't judge others so that you could get more customers.

Excellent food, decent service... POST a sign that says "CASH ONLY" I was slammed with a $3.00 surcharge from their ATM on top of another $3.00 from my bank! Post a sign so other customers don't get ripped off. It's pathetic you don't take credit/debit cards, only when I approach the register, THEN you tell me cash only. Pathetic.

If I could give this a negative review I would. My husband and I were in the area so we wanted to hit up a cute little diner. We walk into and there's a sign stating they only take cash...so that was slightly annoying..but we used the atm and found a seat. Once seated. We looked around and commented on how dark it was...like only half the lights were on or working. We looked up and the entire ceiling was covered in mold. It was very off-putting to say the least. Not to mention it was black mold. 10/10 never returning!!

Went on February 14, 2020 Friday night, for a buffalo fish fry. Not good.. I've been in the food business 46 years, and this restaurant has gone very downhill since the last time I visited last year. Their sign was blown out by a windstorm and was not on and either with a marquee lights on the side of the restaurant. I've walked inside at 6:30 p.m. and there weren't but two tables that have people at them. Very unusual for any restaurant on a Friday night in Buffalo. I ordered the fish fry, $9.99. Beer battered, the fish was mushy in Old, the German potato salad was like a mushed mashed salad, the macaroni salad there was no Pizzazz to it whatsoever. I asked for water with no ice she brought me water with ice, and never brought a refill in the entire 25 minutes I was there. She walked by my table six times and but one time at the very beginning when she walked by she asked me if everything was okay. The gentleman at the cash register who seemed to be the owner, never left the cash register stood there the whole time also they no longer have charged , cash only... in my experiences of 46 years of working in food service and going out to restaurants all over the country, I will never walk in here again.
