This place is super lovely and Ryu-san was very friendly along with all the staff. This is a truly authentic Japanese store with conscious owners and great people as well as ambience. Both the food and coffee is great as well. Can't wait to come back and try more. Parking is also really easy and convenient be it street parking or plaza parking, it is all good !
Coffee, bread and pastries were excellent. The lovely atmosphere of the cafe was straight out of a Haruki Murakami novel. The boss Ryu is really friendly and personable. Have a chat with him! Lots of street parking at the side.
This is a most wonderful Japanese bakery, with fusion of tastes that will make you want to come back again and again. The staff is friendly and professional, and you can either stay and have a nice cup of hot coffee and some bakery items, or take home - be ready, you will want to take home a lot! Delicious overall, and worth making a stop!
[Atmosphere] The staff were all very friendly, cheerful, and efficient, creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere. I love the Omotesando location, but the Torrance store felt more spacious and comfortable to spend time in. [Taste] We shared the “French Toast Plate”, but I think one plate per person would be just the right portion. My partner absolutely loved the sausage on top of the toast. I personally enjoyed the crispy bacon underneath as well. The French toast itself was crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, with a perfect level of sweetness—absolutely delicious! The dish also came with a salad and granola with yogurt, making it a well-balanced meal. [Crowd Level] We visited around 1:30PM on a Saturday. About 80% of the tables were occupied, but only one group was waiting in line, so we were able to order from the full selection of toast menus without any issues. [Takeout] There were about five toasts available for takeout. Unfortunately, the other baked goods sold out right in front of us. It seems that they bake fresh toast at 9 AM and 1 PM, so next time, I’ll try to visit at the right time to get what I want!
Please don't let the negative reviews drive you away from this place. I went in around 11:30a.m and they still had plenty of food. The staff are kind and willing to answer any questions, the coffee is divine! The pastries are amazing! I will definitely be back.
I’ve heard about this place for a while and finally came for breakfast. The lobster bisque is a perfect match with the salad, and I would want to all the dine-in menu when I come back again. I got 5-6 mous instead to take home (curry, chocolate, macha red bean, honey) which are nice portion for snacks or a easy breakfast. Surprisingly instead of the mou I am more impressed with the salmon sandwich and French toast and hojicha bun, they all taste wonderful as take our options.
What a fantastic addition to the area! Opening weekend was very very busy, but the staff was very kind and I can’t wait for this place to fully open with full menu. The bread is wonderful and tasty, the prices are great given the style and quality of food. We had a blast, stop by!
I was dropping a friend off at the airport so I decided to come here to check it out, since I would never be able to line up so early otherwise. Got here 10 minutes before opening and there was already a line of 8 people in front of me. Check out process was speedy and straightforward. The bread has a very Q texture -- bouncy on the outside and soft in the inside. I would compare the texture to al dente pasta or mochi donuts. Of the mou bread types, my favorite savory type was the croque madame (quite heavy, but the sharp cheese taste + runny egg + bread texture was great) and my favorite sweet type was the red bean (dense sweet red bean was balanced with the fluffy whip cream) All in all, it was a great one and done experience. would love to try their dine in options if I'm in the area again!
You guys, I’ve been dying to share, probably my best find of 2025. This is Bread, Espresso, &, a brand new Japanese-style bakery cafe in Redondo Beach. I had heard they were slammed when they just opened a few months ago and were selling out of everything in the first hour, but so glad I waited until the lines died down. They’re most known for their mou bread, which is a buttery toast shaped like a cube that is so pillowy on the inside, and crisp on the outside, and they really can make it into anything. A clam chowder toast box, this skillet French toast that was almost like creme brulee and was so jiggly, even one bursting with curry inside. Next time you drive down PCH, make sure to stop by this unique bakery! Thanks for reading! ^-^
I went on their opening day. The matcha French toast was fantastic, not too sweet at all. My friend was unfamiliar with their shape of curry pan. He said it was one of the better ones he's had compared to others in Japan. The tuna cheese pan was tasty, but I would only go back for the matcha French toast, to try other French toast flavors, and new bakery offerings that weren't available yet on the first day.
Popular bakery chain from Tokyo. Los Angeles location is one of my favorites and highly underrated. The french toast was delicious. Restaurant had a good vibe. And the staff were all friendly. Would definitely recommend checking out!
Being from Japan, I can assure that this is the BEST bakery ever in LA! I was so so happy that I got to eat these delicious breads❤️I can tell how baker makes these breads with love. They just opened the bakery and it is so popular - BE PREPARED TO WAIT! Stop complaining people. It is definitely worth a wait.

We are excited to have a new cafe space in Redondo, especially with yummy eats, good coffee, wifi and plenty of workspace! There are lots of bread options. Sweet or savoury, hot or cold, sit-in or to-go. I haven't tried the coffee yet, but I got the french toast, which is delightful. It's light, and not too sweet. The flavour is consistent throughout the bread without the need of syrup or more sugar, and it's filling. There are red bean, matcha and houjicha flavours to explore as well. The interior is beautiful and peaceful with lots of space for all kinds of groups. The staff are lovely and very accommodating. I can tell they are very excited and happy about the new store. Go say hello :) I'm really glad you're here, パンとエスプレッソと!
Lately, it feels like all the famous Japanese eateries are popping up in LA, and I’m loving it. We’re getting some seriously good eats from Japan right here in California. Bread, Espresso & is one of those spots—a well-known bakery straight from Japan famous for their fluffy, soft milk breads called “Mou” (which means soft in French, apparently). I’ve tried visiting this place a bunch of times before, but every time I got there, they were either closed or sold out of bread super early. Today, I finally made it in time and got some of the last Mou breads they had left—a regular one and a red bean version. These breads live up to the hype. They’re incredibly soft, almost like biting into a cloud. I decided to toast them just a little at home, and wow, that took it to another level—crisp on the outside, still tender inside, with this subtle sweetness that’s just perfect. The red bean one had this nice, earthy filling that paired so well with the bread’s texture. No wonder people flock here! The staff were really friendly too, which made the whole experience even better. Parking’s mostly street-side, so you might have to hunt a bit, but it’s worth it. If you’re into soft, delicious bread, this place is a must-try.

It's wonderful that the South Bay is gaining so many beloved Japanese and Korean bakeries. This one did not disappoint. The bread cubes are creatively distinct as well as delicious. I came to the cafe soon after it opened and have returned time and time again. I can attest that whatever supply issues plagued its initial launch have been solved, and there are always plenty of options to choose from as long as you come over an hour before closing (typical for bakeries). My only wish is that it was open for more hours of the day! If you have gone before and were disappointed, give it another shot now that they've got a better handle on things.
There's a cool vibe, japanese atmosphere and professional baristaing. The match blueberry was cool. The blueberries are a real jam and thick. The mat has is subtle. Good drink. 9 dollars good? 6.50 good. A paper straw, lost the star for that actually. Popular and nice, thats the price I paid. Not bad and very pleasing.
Bakery Cafe during the day and Wine & Dine Bar in the evening. Excellent French-inspired Japanese baked goods. A nice quiet place to spend a leisurely afternoon over coffee drinks near the beach.
Visited here twice while visiting the beach nearby. I personally like visiting here to grab drinks and small pastry and head over to beach nearby. This place offers soft, chewy cubic milk bread that I love. In terms of drinks, I have tried their matcha blueberry and hojicha latte. Their drinks are for people who like to enjoy genuine tea flavor without artificial sweetness. I do like enjoying their authentic matcha and hojicha flavors, but I do think they have room to make their drinks better. I personally like their pastry more than drinks. If you like simple milk bread, it’s worth checking out here while walking along the beach nearby.
When they first opened, the line was too long to try, but now that it has calmed down, we finally got to visit. Growing up in Japan, this style feels familiar to me, but my friend who was born in the U.S. was impressed by how beautifully the breads are displayed and how they are served as a plate with salad and yogurt on the side. The mentaiko butter (cod roe) might be a love-it-or-hate-it flavor in the U.S., but my friend tried it for the first time and really enjoyed it. I ordered the prosciutto & egg plate, which had just the right amount of seasoning—not overly salty—so each ingredient and the bread could shine. The staff were friendly and welcoming. If the prices were just a little lower, I’d definitely come here even more often!
Beautifully presented delicious food. Staff is very friendly! Thursday at 1130. No line but to be expected shelf items almost sold out. But still good selection of made to order Mou. I ordered Mou clam chowder & a medium iced Matcha = $33!!! Definitely not a cheap place. The place is small for sit down. Especially the people are similar to Starbucks customers that order one coffee and sit there all day with their laptops. Except here it’s moms with their strollers, kids on their iPads and ladies that have their purses on the empty table next to them so they don’t share the space. Been here, done that, I don’t have to come back.
Visited the bakery at 11am on a Saturday. The place was packed, with 30 people in line, which took us about an hour to order. All the breads from the morning were sold out and the staff let us know the next batch would be available around 1-2pm. Availability was limited overall - only the clam chowder and sandwiches for food and brewed coffee for drinks. The clam chowder went great with the bread, so I look forward to trying other items in a few months when the place settles down.
The Mou bread was delicious. A bit on the small size for the price but I can deal. The honey and chocolate breads were great tasting too. I think the matcha bread was the best though. Please get there early for the best selection and I hope people stop complaining about limited availability, they state it pretty clearly on their ig and store

Dropped by to see the store but since it was later a lot of their breads were out. Bought their raisin bread (@4” cube) to see. I’d say a typical Japanese pastry shop. Had some depth to the bread. BUT @$7.50 including tax seems a little high-end.
