Opiniones de Rakkan Ramen Redondo Beach
Rakkan Ramen has great noodles and they just added more sushi choices! There are not that many cool spots open late in Redondo but Rakkan Ramen on PCH has a nice atmosphere for a casual date or a quick bite, and the service is quick and efficient. There are a lot of choices for broth and they all come both mild and spicy which is nice as many places only do each broth one way. There is also plenty of appetizers and fresh sushi options to make an extensive menu with a lot more than Ramen. Having eaten in and taken out a number of times the food is excellent either way and the takeout orders are packed and labeled carefully. This is a solid Ramen options with more variety and good food.
I had a fantastic experience here! The food was excellent, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive—three different team members checked in on us during our lunch, making sure we had everything we needed. I especially appreciated the clean and safe outdoor area; it’s designed so well that you don’t have to worry about kids running near the busy road. Overall, a great place for a family meal!
A ramen restaurant with quite the selection, some smooth and silky broths while others rich and spicy. I was curious and ordered the limited time curry ramen plus a small chicken karage bowl and it came with a ramen broth I've never tasted before, mildly spicy with a gentle sweetness seeping out from it, it also included: medium firm thin noodles, half of a seasoned egg, two pieces of lean chashu, bamboo shoots and black fungus. The ramen is a symphony of flavors only with one outlier the bamboo shoot, I just don't think the bamboo shoot with the curry broth bodes well together. The small karage bowl was amazing! The chicken karage, crispy, juicy, and not too oily, plus a bit of what I think is sour cream all on top of a bowl of rice, absolutely loved the karage. I've also tried the limited time summer tsukemen which was bright and refreshing, just like the season it was made for, and I also added some hot oil into the broth for a little kick, undoubtedly the tsukemen was good but I think an extra amount of zest would add more to it! On 2/26/2024 I tried the winter seasonal, the Asian Spicy Ramen. Don't let this clear and innocent looking soup fool you as the spiciness rivals the taste of a homogenized yin and yang of szechuan and small chilli's while having the aromatics of a truffle. I've always loved trying the seasonal limited time bowls at rakken ramen as they always have a different uniqueness compared to the generics. I'll be back for another seasonal bowl soon... In the Spring. Overall, a more than enjoyable experience at RAKKAN Ramen.
A word of caution ⚠️ this is not for someone looking for that traditional Ramen Broth as this soups base is vegan. If tou do not mind then proceed with our featured review. Rakkan Ramen has truly become a major staple in my family to the point we tend to visit every Saturday evening before grabbing Gelato nearby. I actually stumbled upon this place during the pandemic last year just when places started to open back up. When it comes to dining I unfortunately have alot of allergies and often worry about cross contamination as well as unfortunate dining restrictions. I tend to look for places that specify truly vegan as I've learned I don't have to really worry about cross contamination. Rakkan happened to check off all my key features I wanted in a place. Great soup, gluten free and veggie noodle options and the bonus soups base being vegan was a done deal. Customer service has always been exceptional and I love how accomodating they are for ada/ wheelchair accessibility. I never have to worry here. The resturant is always well kept indoor and out and your always greeted the minute you walk up. Every visit is also as though I'm being welcomed back home. It's a very warm and inviting space to say the least. When it come to food I do have to say although it is exceptional I have actually began to notice inconsistencies with the broth. We always opt for Spicy garnet with either extra noodles, veggies, egg, green onions and sometimes upgrade to a meal to get spicy goyza. Although I've never had a bad tasting Ramen bowl from here we have noticed a drastic difference when it comes to flavoring which can in return affect someone's future return visit if it lacks that same burst of flavor you first had. On one visit one of their newer employees recommended their Nori Sake and now we are hooked. It was ice cold , cloudy and refreshing on these hot summer nights and pairs well with any dish. Speaking of dishes their spicy beef goyza is an absolute hit. The crispy flakey texture and burst of juicy flavor in each bite has become an instant mouth watering memory. Just thinking about taking a bite out of one will send your tastebuds back down memory lane. My only other flaw is just like the consistency with soup flavor I have found noodle texture has varied depending on the food prep chelf as well but when your hungry sometimes can bypass the noodles texture. Customer service is always exceptional even in instances when they may have forgotten an item with our order. I have witnessed their employees are empowered to make their own decisions in correcting a situation and it's handled gracefully. Although sometimes they may get swamped they never hesitate when it comes to continuing that excellent hospitality. If you are looking for traditional Ramen this may not be your top choice as my partner says it's missing that Umami flare, however even his big carnivorous appetite has him coming back. He actually prefers the vegan broth on days when flavoring is just right. If your like myself with allergies, and looking for ada accessible places this is definitely a must visit place and I'm proud to be a regular diner .
This is one of the healthier ramen you can get in West LA (and doesn't compromise in taste, by the way)! 🍜 The restaurant is well maintained. I like the ambience and cleanliness of this place. Customer service was also very friendly. In terms of food, We ordered cream ramen and spicy garnet. The cream ramen was rich in flavor and not too salty. As for the spicy Garnet, it is definitely my top 3 spicy ramen because of how pleasant the aftertaste was as their ramen aren't oily so it felt light to the stomach. Noodle texture for both ramen were cooked to perfection (not too hard, not too soft). The chasiu were tender and not too salty. Finally, did I mention their pork buns? Those are delicious too. Overall, I enjoyed this restaurant and would recommend ramen lovers to try out this place!
Great spot for ramen but their service needs improvement. We stopped in for lunch and sat down immediately. Ordered some appetizers before our meal. First appetizer brought out wasn’t what we ordered. Then first meal we ordered came out incorrect and had to be sent back. Ramen came out as ordered. The spicy and regular broth was both delicious. Ordered the small poke bowl with gyoza and it was more than enough food for a lunch. Unfortunately, the lack of attentiveness from our waiter affected our experience tremendously. We had to track him down or someone else each time we needed something instead of him being proactive or asking about our needs. There’s a small parking lot and also plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
Updated review on recent visit: there are many changes made to the menu and food. Which would be okay, but the flavor in the broths: quartz and garnet was lacking flavor and the noodles have changed between the dishes. The broccoli in the quartz was tough. It didn’t sit in the soup long enough to soften, felt like I was eating it straight out of the fridge. Makes me sad because it used to be my favorite place to eat! It is up-charged and lacks flavor + quality. This review is long overdue as this is my favorite location for Ramen. You can tell by my collection of photos! My favorite is the Vegan Quartz because of its creaminess and the Vegan Truffle (first photo), which is a limited time option. I have been coming to this one specifically because of how authentic their broth tastes. The atmosphere is great and the employees to a great job gauging how to interact with customers, which I really appreciate! Dining in and taking out is a smooth process.
I’ve noticed the quality decline in the past few years, but not so much to make me stop eating here. Recently, though, I’ve been finding it harder to justify visiting as often due to the prices and noticeable decline with each visit. It seems that every time I crave some ramen and visit, I end up leaving with some sort of negative experience in regard to the food. On my last visit, I ordered the Chicken Karaage and Garnet (garnet was good). The food smelled great and looked good as the chicken had just been fried, but after tearing off a piece of chicken, I noticed that it looked darker than normal and felt somewhat rubbery. I questioned it, but took a bite anyway and confirmed it was not good and even asked my partner if she thought it could be pork. I had a different piece thinking maybe it was only one bad piece, but gad the same experience. I asked the waiter to take the plate back and told him the chicken was rubbery and he very nicely asked if we wanted to swap it with a different plate, so we asked for Vegan Gyoza and that was that. Later that night, I had a stomach ache and couldn’t help but think of the chicken. I can’t confirm it, but I can’t think of anything else I could have ate to cause that much discomfort even onto the next day. I don’t want to insinuate that everyone will have the same experience and preferences that I have, but with that, I won’t be visiting Rakkan next time I crave some ramen.
I’ve been coming to this spot for years and I have to say I’m dissapointed with how the ramen has changed. I’ve had the same exact order for years and would notice some ingredients that were once generous becoming fewer and fewer, and now none at all. like the bamboo shoots were all together gone in the last order I had. Even when I would order an extra egg, I would usually receive a whole egg cut into halves, now I received half after paying the same amount with no indication of change. Even the flavors don’t feel the same as before. It’s been a spot I came back to out of quality and convenience, but now I’m heavily reconsidering
The service was great but the ramen would range from mediocre to terrible. The taste of the base was plain and this was not a great ramen by any stretch of the imagination. The noodles were more like soba than ramen. Then there was very little meat for the price. The plates and museum quality presentation was good but the food suffers a great deal on the taste. Taste is a big deal but here you won’t find it. This place will close down because the quality is so low. Several LA ramen joints have a great product (ramen) but this is not one of them. I would definitely not try this location again. I would suggest to avoid or find a better place to get food ramen. This is not it.
7:45 (1h17 after my order is placed): still no food and a rat barges out from the restaurant right in front and the pick up customers waiting for me outside! That's the cherry on top! I decided to walk and ask how much longer. I'm being told I'm the 2nd order in line, I see zero (0) bags being prepared. They also tell me what I thought before. They prioritize walk ins. I had call them before placing my order, they said 40-45 min, I asked to repeat they 45 min. 1h45 my food wasn't even close to be prepped! And the rat! Do NOT go there, neither to dine in nor to pick-up! First post: They are making pick-up orders wait forever. It's been 1hr I've been waiting despite the online order conformation that it'd be ready in 10 min! New customers walk in as im waiting, they are getting their food right away. I see them eat as I write this review. Unhappy!
Very disappointing experience. The hot sake tasted old, and the ramen was bland with a very small portion—just a little bit of noodles and only two pieces of protein. For the price, it felt like a waste of a Friday night. On top of that, we were rushed to finish, which made the experience even worse. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.
