This is a nice, charming coffee shop by the ocean with tasty French bites. It’s clean, has friendly service with menu prices a little bit on the high side. Dietary restrictions: The items are clearly labeled with allergen information. It makes it so much easier and safer to choose what to eat without guessing. Parking: There’s a small lot behind the shop and some street parking, though it can be tough to find a spot when it’s busy. Kid‑friendly: They have stylish highchairs (without seat buckles) and not much space inside for kids to move around, but the terrace feels more kid‑friendly. Outdoor seating: The outside area is lovely with a nice ocean breeze, but it can get windy at times or a bit noisy from the nearby road.
Sweet Wheat is more than just a bakery; it's a neighborhood treasure. It's the perfect spot for a morning treat, a weekend indulgence, or to pick up a dessert that will truly impress. Go see for yourself why this place has earned a reputation for having the best pastries and croissants around! Jae M.
10/10. The food is high quality and actually tastes fresh—you can tell they put real care into the ingredients. Everything from the bowl to the dessert was balanced and perfectly prepared. Big shoutout to Tristan for the service; he’s attentive, friendly, and clearly takes pride in what he does. Highly recommend.
I ordered a delicious Chocolate French Toast pasty, a mocha, and a small orange juiceball for a reasonable price of under $12. Everything was delicious! Highly recommend if in the area.
A great sandwich or any great meal starts with great bread.. so many choices from savory to sweet, and everything in between. Amazing for breakfast or lunch, pastry, salads, soups, tarts.. lunch combinations, and stand out coffee bar to top it off. They also sell drinks and all the assorted you might want to top off a meal or take some of the delicious home with you. They have a free parking lot but it isn't huge and the pace is busy so grabbing a spot on the side street and strolling in might be the way to go if you don't want to parallel park on PCH. Overall Sweet Wheat is a local treasure and whatever you get there will be a hit and you will come back!
Their pastries, salad, and other food tiems were tasty. They are pretty serious about their baked goods. Only thing I would suggest is maybe having a better coffee? Otherwise, great service, outdoor seating available to sit with your doggo, and free parking! Btw, we drove all the way from Hollywood to eat here a few times, I think that says alot about this place.
Sweet Wheat truly feels like a slice of Paris in Redondo Beach. From the charming ambiance to the delicious pastries, it’s an authentic French bakery experience. We tried the apricot tartlet, chocolate mousse, and chocolate éclair - all rich, delicate, and beautifully made. The Wagyu short rib panini and smoked salmon croissant were equally impressive and full of flavor. The shaded outdoor seating with soft background music added to the European café feel. A must-visit for anyone craving a taste of France!
the place is incredible! they have got every kind of bread and pastries you can think of :) also, the staffs are very friendly and will give you samples! btw you get free goods if you join their membership… recommended
Delicious selections of Euro lunch and desserts, perfect with a cup of coffee or even better with mocha! Friendly service with easy ordering. We had Chicken Baguette and Bolognaise Gnocchi, they were both delicious. Of course, the best part was the Chocolate Eclair with Mocha. Perfect outdoor casual seating on a nice sunny day. Enjoy life!
This is one of my favorite spots in the South Bay! Really love that they import their flour and utilize non GMO ingredients. Everything tastes fresh and while the vegetable quiche texture/ moisture level and veggie ingredients seem to be a little inconsistent (sadly, no kalamata olives last time) , I will continue to get it monthly! Pastries are incredible, sandwiches amazing value, and great lattes and drip coffee. Just generally a great experience all around.. a great spot to take friends and family from out of town too!

I’ve been a regular here for a while, and the service and quality never fail to impress. I come mainly for the sweets, which are always delicious! While I prefer the savory pastries and sandwiches over the bowls or soups, I can confidently say the pastries are incredible. Today, I bought 12 tarts, and Jamie was so thoughtful—packing them beautifully and telling me about the ‘buy 4, get 1 free’ deal, which convinced me to get even more. The people I gifted them to couldn’t stop raving about the presentation, aroma, and taste!

If I could go there daily I would both be very very happy and probably gain quite a bit of weight. The pastries and baked goods are that delicious! It would be hard to control how much I would eat if it were nearby. Suffice to say we were completely satiated, and thoroughly happy when we left Sweet Wheat! Will be visiting again when I’m in the area! 🥐🥖🍞🧁🎂🍰🍮
Sunday mid-morning was bustling. Food options were amazing and ranged from meals to desserts and morsels. Really well developed menu! The food presentations were impeccable and the layout of the cases made sense. We opted for a ham and cheese croissant (hot) and a salmon/avocado croissant (cold). Neither disappointed! Very authentic and really nailed it! We were really happy with our choices. The croissants were not overly flaky nor over buttery. I can't describe it but they were the perfect medium. Chef's kiss! We also picked up dessert for later. After much debate we opted for a chocolate hazelnut cookie and a pan de chocolate. Definitely chocolate heaven and I was elated that the cookie was SOFT! It didn't taste like it was frozen and really screamed fresh. The pan was soft and fluffy... kudos on the fluffy well-distributed bubbles inside! Would we come back... 30 minute drive... endure the locals... zoom around Sunday drivers... abso-freaking-lutely!!! Can't wait! 🎉
Sweat Wheat is Redondo is a must try! Their new Quiche Lorraine has a perfectly flaky crust, rich egg filling, and its packed with flavor. Everything thing taste authentic, and as a local I will be coming back. Special thank you to Tristan for being very kind and helpful during my family's visit. Great food and amazing service!
I had an amazing experience at Sweet Wheat in Redondo Beach! The food is absolutely delicious, and the modern atmosphere makes it such a nice spot to relax. The chicken pesto panini was incredibly juicy and packed with flavor — easily one of the best I’ve had. One of the staff members, Tristan, was very kind and welcoming. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Sweet Wheat is my favorite bakery in Los Angeles and in the same league as what I experience in France. I have been going here since it opened. Love the baguette, and corde. Sourdoughs are nice to get sliced and can eat plain or in a sandwich (apricot raisin and country my favorite). Its the only South Bay bakery that I know of where you can get so many amazing deserts from early morning until the late evening! Try the breakfast combo. It will make make you feel like you are in Paris minus the cigarette smoke, and cold weather :) As others have mentioned there are many other great combo deals. Give it a try and you will be back!

Love this place!!! Great pastries, great sandwiches, good salads. I like that they have mini pastries, so I can get a few and try multiple without overdoing it. Nice staff, great seating. It's convenient that you can park in the back and sit out front in the sun or walk down to the beach with a snack :) And they even have imported snacks from France! Love seeing what the new selection will be every time I'm nearby.
Sweet Wheat in Redondo Beach is a thoughtfully designed bakery that strikes a comfortable balance between cozy and spacious. They had a special Buy 3 Get 1 Free Viennoiserie, which came out to 15.35 after taxes. For pastries, that's a great deal! I ordered the Salted Caramel Apple Cake, Kouign-Amann, Almond Chocolate Croissant, and The Pain aux Raisins. I ordered the pastries online and stopped by to pick them up, finding the space lively with several groups both inside and outside. There’s plenty of seating, making it a solid place to enjoy a pastry while working on a laptop. The atmosphere feels warm and inviting without being cramped, and the holiday music added a seasonal touch. The Salted Caramel Apple Cake stood out with its layered textures: a soft, pumpkin-pie-like center and a chewy apple-forward top. Rich and well-balanced, it earns an 8.5/10. The Pain aux Raisins had good softness and plenty of raisins, though the flavor leaned heavily on them alone. 8/10. The Kouign-Amann delivered good interior crispness, but the caramelized top was overly hard, lowering its appeal—7.75/10. The Almond Chocolate Croissant had a pleasing texture, but the almond and chocolate combination didn’t quite come together, earning a 7.5. Would it comes back? Sure, if I'm in the area and craving pastries. But overall, it fell short of making my rotation of pastry shops / boulangerie. Nevertheless, I had a positive experience here.
Nice restaurant with indoor and outdoor patio. It's very clean and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Their pastries are delicious. The savory food on the other hand is just ok, unfortunately. The sandwiches are already prepped and placed in the display. Once you order anything, they'll heat it up for you. It's not the same as if it's made fresh to order. The indoor seating is nice. Outdoor patio would be great if it wasn't for the loud traffic on PCH. I would still recommend this restaurant.
I liked the place specially for the pastries, they are very good and taste so fresh with high quality ingredients. For the salty options they taste good but not my first choice, I'm going back to this nice place for the sweet treats haha, highly recommended.

They offer meal specials (1 entree, bakery item, etc) and the portions are good. The pastries and desserts are delicious. Try the macarons, pistachio white chocolate chip cookie and the XL raspberry macaroni- you won't regret it.
Wanted to try a new bakery. Came here to get some French pastries and yummy savory sandwiches. We got the Lorrain quiche, ham, egg and cheese croissant, a baguette. I forget what the cherry/ raspberry dessert is call but it was super light and yummy. Not overly sweet. The White chocolate pistachio cookie wasn't good which is my drop in stars. It was too crumbly, had no flavor, and super super dry. Texture and taste was like sand. Would not recommend any of the 🍪 ❌. Both savory items were actually delicious and also like that they ask if you want it heated but my only concern is that it's been sitting out too long (so make sure to ask) or see if they can make a fresh one (doubt it but never hurts to ask). Also got fresh orange juice (small bottle) and a lavender honey latte (not enough espresso), both were very mediocre. Everything was overly priced. This location has parking (limited) but there is parking. The person helping us seems lackluster, sweating and didn't feel like he wanted to be there but we got our things pretty quick though. All in all, Great ambiance outside and indoor seating which is nice. Probably won't be back. But for a 1st time - okay 3/5

i have been coming here for years, and the quality has gotten significantly worse. from removing items from the menus and taking ingredients out of different pastries; the worst part of it all has been the decrease in the quantities of items for sale each day. on multiple instances i have found the case nearly empty sometimes 3 hours left before closing. i used to order larger tarts for my birthday but i don’t think i ever will again as the quality has declined significantly in my opinion. sad to see a lack of inventory, some rude staff, and lackluster pastries now.
1st time trying this bakery and last time . Texture and taste was like sand. Would not recommended, prices was overly priced. Just to to Porto’s they have the best prices, Hight quality and fresh product. Sandwiches are very hard just like a rock. If you buy a soup make sure to bring your own spoon because they will provide a flat spoon and theres no way you can finish that soup, you will have to drink it literally straight from the cup This location has parking (limited) but there is parking. Place is very dirty everywhere you look around like tables ,chairs windows and display food and I can tell by that is just a dirty place. Imagen how is inside the kitchen 😷 im not sure if I will be able to upload images just to leave it as a reference if you decide to stop by this place soon but I will try since I took pictures as a proof of this bad experience eating here.
