The food is delicious, the staff was friendly. It was super busy so it did take a while for our food but one it came out all hot and fresh the wait was so worth it. The blueberry pancake was just what I was craving 10/10 They have Texas size portions but this was from the lite menu.
My friends and I stopped by this cute cafe while in Cedar Park and it was delicious! Great atmosphere, for a Sunday it was certainly busy, but our wait was anticipated to be “15-30 minutes” but we waited about 10. The food came out fresh, hot and delicious! We will definitely be back!
I have been looking around for a mom and pop place for breakfast. I found it! This place has the fluffiest pancakes 🥞! And they put sausage in them so that’s even better. Their place is small but homey and the staff is very attentive and nice. The food was delicious and I will definitely come back for more and bring friends and family here. Thank you 😊
The service was awesome we only waited 5 minutes max. Our waitress was awesome and nice. The floor was a little sticky but fairly clean. Their was also cute little decals on the wall. They also up charge you on things with no consent which sucked but overall good. They also have gluten free stuff/bread that they again up charge for. But I recommend this place especially the biscuits and gravy.
I loved this place so much, it is definitely my #1 favorite cafe. It has such good food, and its repeated quality. Especially the maple cinnamon bun, and everything that they bake is homemade, and amazing. I recommend to try everything different every time you come. Trust me, it will all taste good. The customer service is also amazing, they check on you, and they get every single order right. It’s a very cozy place, and it makes you trust that this cafe is gonna be amazing.
Fried chicken eggs Benedict was incredible. Eggs were perfect. Fried chicken was great. Hollandaise was amazing. Excellent biscuits. Potatoes were ok, might try a different side next time. Great drip coffee, comes with little cream cups that are actually cream and not the canola oil garbage. I guess the blueberry pancakes were great. They disappeared before I could sneak a bite. Would absolutely come back.
Food was good, the service was better. Waitstaff was very friendly and welcoming. A great laid back environment to enjoy a meal. Not too loud to have a conversation, but also not quiet if you wanted to bring your kids and were concerned about them making noise.
This place is always packed so we stopped by one morning after church and man did hit the spot! We were seated promptly by the sweetest hostess! The chicken fried steak was absolutely delicious and the pancakes were humongous! The biscuits were just amazing! Definitely our new spot to go to!
Our favorite breakfast spot in the area. We’ve been coming for years. Their plain pancakes are nothing short of magical. Idk if it’s extra vanilla they add or what. I also regularly order the breakfast taco with a side. It’s the perfect amount of food and super affordable. I also love the BLT and their french fries are 10/10!! Today we brought our twins and they were so extra sweet with them and brought them books and high fived them. It’s the little things that make such a big difference.
I've had two breakfasts from here. My favorite was the biscuits and sausage gravy. The biscuits were a big, and the gravy had good-sized sausage pieces in it. I've also tried the Creme Brulee French toast; it was sweet and reminiscent of the dessert, but unfortunately, it was too sweet for me. But don't let that turn you off--it is supposed to be sweet! It was made correctly. I've also tried the southern fried potatoes. They are very good. They have tender centers. I had a great server, too. She answered all my questions able menu items, helping me decide on what to order. I recommend eating here!
First off, the food is delicious. We've known about this place for over 10 years and just now tried it. I can't believe we didn't come sooner. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was inviting. My favorite had to be the cornbread hash, which is freshly made to order. Blueberry butter for the pancakes you have to try they are good just like that without the syrup. The Redneck Benedict with cafe potatoes was my husband favorite. 1431 Special with ham was more than enough food. We even got a side biscuit and loved it. We had plenty of food leftover, and our eyes were bigger than our stomachs 😂. Thank you, Julie, for all the recommendations you made the experience awesome.
Wow! We were headed to the coast and I am so glad we found this cafe!! We came here for the reviews and it did not disappoint! The food is excellent and the portions are huge, come with an appetite! We got blueberry pancakes and creme brulee french toast, both were the best we have had! Our waitress was amazing! We will for sure be back!
Wow, for me, this is the best breakfast spot if you are hungry. The food is delicious, and the plates are huge! I eat the breakfast meat lovers omelet with country potatoes and the signature house sauce on the top with Rye Toast with butter, and a big cup of coffee let me tell you this breakfasts surprise me it was more than what I expected, it was delicious! I'm really happy I came here now it will be my favorite spot for breakfasts. My server was Shelly she is extraordinary and an amazing human being that's all I can say.
Wonderful place to stop by a eat. If you are military veteran, let them know when you sit down and your drink will be on them for your service.
Anthony was exceptional. He gave my husband and I great recommendations to eat for our first time. Chicken & waffles was delicious! Also the monte cristo was awesome! I will say it seemed like Anthony was in very high demand and we saw his colleagues helping others check out to leave. When we asked for the same (again cause he was busy also acting as bartender and didn’t want to pull him away) we were told no and that he would be with us soon. Overall had a good experience just wish they were as helpful with us as other tables so that service could flow more smoothly.
Decent, hearty, breakfast. Service was good but they did start to get busy which made things move a bit slower in the kitchen. Liver and onions was not my favorite, I love liver but it was very dry - would not order it again. Broccoli cheese casserole had an off taste, like it wasn't super fresh. Sausage gravy over the chicken fried chicken was very good and the hot chocolate was very good. The chocolate chip pancake was good, crispy edges and fluffy center, may not be good for someone that isnt keen on a crispy edge pancake but we liked it. We asked for a kids plate and we got a (dirty) stainless steel plate. Kudos for stainless steel but negative points because it looked like another kid had just used it without being washed properly. The portions are good but that only really matters if you like the food, right?
I'm new to the area and was looking for a place to eat breakfast after church. This place was close and showed up in my Google search. The hostess and staff were friendly and welcomed me to the area. I ordered orange juice and a veggie omelet with bacon and "crispy" potatoes. The waiter/bartender misunderstood my order, and I got a Western omelet with ham. They replaced it with the veggie omelet. Things were great until the hair on my plate. I can't eat after that and ask for a to go box. When the hostess came by to clear the table, I mentioned to her about the hair on my plate. She took the plate, and there was a conference at the hostess stand. No one came back to address the issue. I paid with cash no receipt was presented probably because he had that little electronic device. The waiter took my $30 and asked me if I'd like water to go, no change offered! As I was leaving the ladies at the front, all said, "Have a great day!" I could talk about, "When i ran a restaurant, "but I'll spare you. 😉 Times are changing!!!! Sorry I missed out on the cinnamon roll. Have a great day!
I really wanted to like it. When I arrived at the 1431 Café, there was a 20 minute wait quoted. I get it, it’s Sunday. So I put my name on the waiting list of my wife and I waited to be called. After 30 minutes or so, they finally called us and we sat down. Our waiter, Morgan, was really nice and explained the menu to us. My wife ordered the crabcakes Benedict, and I ordered the chicken fried chicken Benedict. I realize good food takes a little while to cook, but we are waiting for almost 40 minutes for our food to come to the table. My wife really enjoyed her crabcakes Benedict, but my chicken fried chicken Benedict was just…okay. The hollandaise was a bit burnt and the biscuits underneath were harder than expected. Not a deal breaker, but not too-notch either. The other thing we noticed was the waitstaff seemed to be dressed entirely too casual. Like slippers and t-shirts casual. Maybe it’s the norm for 1431 but not what we’re used to. Overall it’s a nice cozy little restaurant. The food was mostly good and the atmosphere was like an old 1950’s crowded corner café. If you like this sort of thing, then this is the restaurant for you.
Have been here twice both times have been treated completely indifferent. We came in jotted our name down and were told 30 minutes already with a little bit of an attitude. With no where to sit and wait in or outdoors we decided to wait in the car with our 6 month old. After 10 minutes I had my spouse go check to which she was given an attitude by the hostess and told we were skipped as they called our name and no one came.
I am so sad about my experience today. My husband and I visit this cafe OFTEN. We have had nothing but amazing service… until today. Usually I either get a BLT or a club sandwich. Today I ordered a Club sandwich and my husband ordered some eggs and a pancake. When we were brought a BLT (for me) I had thought I ordered the wrong thing. So I started to eat it. I took 2 bites and realized it was missing the tomato and cheese I usually put on there. When I asked my waiter about it he mentioned that he could not take our food back to the kitchen as we had already taken bites out of it. We had him take it back anyway and asked for our correct food and a manager. We were told that the manager was not willing to come talk to us. We then asked for the correct food to come out and he refused to serve us until we paid for the food that we ate two bites of. Then after we paid for a meal we didn’t want he would bring us the correct food and make us pay for that as well. This restaurant has really gone downhill. Just look at the other reviews and the way that the OWNER speaks with his customers and has probably responded to this review. As a business owner I can say that even when customers are in the wrong or upset the business should treat us with respect. Sad to say but you LOST some great business.
Walked in , got seated in 2 min and gave our order at 11:39 , got coffee and juice at 11:42. Then waited till 12:28 and no food. Turns out order was never put in, so we stood up to leave and the manager made us pay for the coffee and juice . ( juice that we never touched) Horrible service and do not care for customers. Response to the owner. There was no drama, we left quietly , my husband runs marriotts and is very well aware of customer service . He walked up to the front desk lady who seemingly didn’t care, and he said we have waited too long and people that say after us got their food, so we would happily pay for what we consumed and we left. Your front staff never stated an apology or an estimated time that we can expect the order after waiting (as per you 22 minutes ) as per our time (40 minutes) . You see the problem here is not paying for what we consumed, it was the effort that your staff never put in to retain our business which may not seem a lot. Also your time stamps are internal not something we did, so please ask your staff why was the order placed late. That juice was served with the order we placed so seemingly we got our drinks way before the order was placed strange don’t you think. Nevertheless thank you for your time in responding.
UPDATE!! Changing to a one star. Wow!! way to slam your customers The restaurant fully refunded the cost of my bill however they really slammed me and their review reply. I definitely told the server and I did not eat all the food I ate maybe half and there was two pieces of sausage and I ate two bites of one of them. It was not a lot of food and I was hungry so I ate around the edges that was cooked. You need to check your security cameras again as you say you saw me sit there and eat every last bite which is absolutely false. Being a mom and pop business is not good when you slam your customers. I did tell the server and she did apologize but. I did not ask for my money back, I even tipped the server because she did give good service. Oh, and I recently moved to the area and was looking for a good places to eat. Service was very good, food not so much. I had regular French toast and sausage patties French toast was very soggy need to be cooked some more and the sausage patties had a bad taste.
I usually only write a review if I have a wonderful experience or a horrible one and this establishment was an awful place to be at. The hostess was very hostile and demanding that I get rid of the Ice Water I had from Starbucks- which I didn’t have an issue putting in my car, but I needed to get my Husband seated first because he just came from a medical procedure and needed to eat. She was not understanding of that whatsoever and wouldn’t seat us until I got rid of the water. So I left him alone, which I wasn’t supposed to (he had a fall risk bracelet on) and put the water in our vehicle. I only stayed at that point so he could get something in his system and I ate too so he didn’t eat alone. Honestly the food was mediocre, his biscuit was very dry. My breakfast taco was just alright. Seemed overpriced as well and had to drink yucky tap water. Our server was nice, but it didn’t start out welcoming. It was just a very uncomfortable experience.
Heartbroken by my experience at 1431 Cafe today. I stopped in for lunch with my five year old daughter, something we’d done since she was a baby. Before we were even able to sit down in the booth, the host very curtly mentioned they “don’t allow outside drinks.” I was momentarily confused since every child in the country goes everywhere with their own little water bottle. In this case it was a little Bluey water bottle, screw top, metal bottle - every restaurant, movie theater, library, etc we’ve been to for as long as she’s been alive has treated that as the ubiquitous thing it is. So I said, “oh, that’s just my kid’s water bottle.” She looked at me with disdain snd started going off about “we have water here, no outside drinks means no outside drinks, there are rules” and all of this. I have never written a bad review in my life, but her coming at me over this water bottle was honestly shocking and easily the rudest and most out of line I’d ever seen a service industry worker act and I’ve been working in restaurants for 15 years. I never even sat down, I took my daughter somewhere else as this woman took one last shot at me on our way out saying, “oh way to be a parent, showing your kid not to follow rules.” I don’t know if she was having a rough day or what, but obviously we’re never going back. And it’s a shame. My kid was excited about going to a place that felt like “our place” with the cartoon foods painted along the ceiling. We’d always been treated well there. This woman doesn’t need to be working with the public. Truly a shame.
This place use to be good, not anymore. The corned beef was horrible. It was great before, not sure why it was so bad. No biggie, they removed it from my bill. I was excited to try the chicken fried steak and at first it was good and crispy, but once I took another bite, the meat was not properly cooked. It tasted like raw meat and the gravy was extremely bland. I was extremely disappointed. I pretty much left a full plate. My son loved his omelet. The server was great and tried to remove the plate from my bill but it wasn't. It's a shame since I was planning on giving them another try but no more. This will be my last visit.
