Tico manager is great. He sees that everything we need is taken cared of. Nice job. Keep coming back to you.
I got the avacado toast with fruits & an extra side of hashbrowns. Also, I very regretfully stained my pants with mustard!! Lesson learned always keep a napkin on your lap. Servers were nice & they have pretty good options. Obvi I would appreciate vegan batter pancakes. The bread was delicious
The food is great. We go here after big workouts for a big meal. The staff has always been very good and friendly. We are here at least once a week.
WOW! my new favorite diner. The service and and the food was delicious. My wife and I stumbled across this place because I had to go to Target. We both ordered OJ and Tea, and split the Shasta Scramble, it came with both french toast and fresh fruit... It was perfect for my wife and I to share.... I just wish they had one of these in San Diego
Enjoyed this very friendly inviting hearty place. Came late Friday night and it was really enjoyable. Absolutely yummy delicious amazing. Thanks!!
Had the eggs and NY strip. Tip: order it a grade less done. They tend to over cook by a grade. I was told by a waitress in the same business. So a little tough in the steak. The eggs are the best I've had. Bravo. I want very interested in the potatoes or hash browns. Coffee was decent but lacked flavor. It was a shift change and I can forgive but watch it. Restrooms were good as always.
Wait staff was right on but didn't hover, food was really tasty and hot. Love going here 💕
Me and my girlfriend went the other night for a quick bite and the staff was very friendly the atmosphere was great and the food was delicious I'll be back.
Every time I have been to Black Bear Diner in Colma, I have had great food and amazing service. I always order limonade to drink, which I say is one of the best lemonades around. This time, I decided to order the BBQ Ribs and Tri-Tip plate with french fries and mashed potatoes. I found it quite delicious.
We popped in while our car was being serviced and were pleasantly surprised after not visiting this location before. From the hostess to our server, everything provided was very nice. I believe our server was Steven. He was very patient and accommodating with my partner due to her limited ability to eat at restaurants. The food was very good, nice and hot when it arrived, and the portions are plentiful. I don't believe the prices are high considering how much everything has gone up lately. I saw the prices as fair for the quality and experience. We paused to tell the manager of our great time and he thanked us. Overall, excellent from start to finish, and we will be dining there again very soon.
Food and service was great! My family and I loved it! Went on a Sunday morning and it was a bit busy but they helped us right away 😊
Black bear always surprises me with their unique taste, service & friendly personal. This is a very nice place to come here for breakfast, either alone or with friends. I haven’t tried the dinner menu because Jose mentioned before I always come in the mornings but maybe one of those days I will stop by to have some of the dinner.
The service was great. Our food came in a good matter of time. There were a lot of curbside pickups going on so the kitchen was busy and forgot about the side order but managed to get it done so we took it to go. We got seated quickly and ordered fast. And they has freshly squeezed orange juice.
We had ordered our food to go. We ordered 2 of the orders of: drink, fries and cheeseburger for $11.00 each. It was a really good deal and the food was GREAT! Thank you Black Bear Colma Employees!
Stumbled upon Black Bear Diner this morning doing some errands, and man, what a happy accident—it's like the universe said, "Hey, skip the sad greasy spoons and treat yourself!" Lodge Vibes Indoors Walking in feels like teleporting to a cozy Minnesota lodge or Branson cabin, complete with carved bears, neon jukebox glow, and that "Welcome" sign begging for selfies. Staff couldn't be friendlier, plenty of space at the bar or tables, zero wait time—perfect for us impatient folks. Monster Portions Grabbed the classic two-egg ham and cheese omelette with hash browns and a fluffy biscuit; portions were bear-sized, easy to split if you're not starving solo. Fluffy eggs loaded with ham chunks, melty cheese, crispy taters—no skimping here, and that biscuit? One way ticker to Buttery heaven: $18! Spotless and City Escape Super clean everywhere—even the ketchup bottles look factory-fresh, no crusty remnants from yesterday's crowd. Great urban hideaway for all-day breakfast, lunch, or dinner; I'll be back soon to tackle more from that newspaper-style menu. Honest 5 stars—filling, fun, and zero regrets!
My long time friend David and I had brunch at Big Bear Diner, Colma. Steve was our server and he did a great job. We both enjoyed egg omelets and Steve kept filling my coffee. It's a nice family atmosphere and we strongly recommend visiting Big Bear Diner, Colma soon. Thank you!
The service was amazing and my waiter was on point from service to recommendations on the menu. The Diner was very clean and the food was delicious. We ordered the Pot Roast meal, Chicken Club sandwich and the tri tip sandwich. All of it was great. The only thing that was not that great was the corn bread muffin. It was too hard. But other than that I'd give it 100% recommendation to eat here. It was 3 of us and I tipped. I still didn't pay over $100. My tip was $18.25.
My 1st time dining at Black Bear and I was very pleased. The food was delicious. Our waitress, Raquel, was wonderful and pleasant. I didn’t get nauseous like other diners that use lard. Impressed with the size of my order, when most businesses provide less of quality and quantity in their service and product.
On October 17 at noon I had lunch at the Colma location. I ordered the Bacon Cheddar Cheese burger. I thought it rated as the best bacon cheese burger i have ever had in my 75 years. First of all the bacon was done to perfection. It was not greasy and not over cooked. The bacon had great flavor. It was two large slices that where placed in a cross over the burger and cheese. I folded the overhanging pieces back on the burger and I had bacon that lasted in every bit. I think that was the part that made it so good. I love bacon and this was bacon at it best. The burger was done just the way I like it. Because my husband and I were celebrating the 39 anniversary of our first meeting, I celebrated with a Brownie Sundae for desert. If I had any criticism it was that the brownie might have been a little under done but the ice cream with the whipped cream and cherry on top made it just incredibly good. The meal was great. This isn't the first time we have eaten here but it will not be the last time either!!
This is the most decorated Black Bean dinner I have been in. The kid in me is having too much fun with the decor. If you have never been to a Black Bear before, start with a bear claw pastry and wash it down with a mug of black coffee. Delicious. It will get your appetite going for the main course.
The decoration at this location would be a hoot if you have little kids. I hope all the locations get the same updated decor, the little kid in me had fun. Unfortunately I didn't get an opportunity to try the bear claw to compare it with my local Black Bear. My go to dessert (and sometimes appetizer) is the bear claw + black coffee. Awesome combo.
Came here the 1st time with a friend for brunch or late breakfast the other morning. The best part of this place is the bear themed decor. It is a lot of fun. I was warned by my friend that the portions are large so I might get a smaller plate. I got an egg and ham steak while my friend got what was called a volcano or a big plate. Everything was pretty good. The biscuit was tough to eat though. A very rustic atmosphere..or you feel like you are going camping. It's a casual atmosphere. Staff was friendly and efficient.

Amazing as always, black bear is a classic American breakfast spot that deserves to be tried!
The eggs were great! I was really craving eggs so it was good they weren't messed up. The waffle is too thick and dense so I didn't finish it. Also, I specifically asked for real maple syrup, as there is no other valid opinion on the matter, and one of my syrups was the corn syrup fake stuff.
I loved the atmosphere of black bear diner. If your into American comfort food of good ol' pancakes, eggs and sausages then definitely give this place a whirl. I was craving pancakes today and I loved them and they can make good scrambled eggs lol! Its better than Dennys or Ihop in my opinion and I'll be back for breakfast next time.
There's a lot that I really like about this place. The decor/theme are nice (mountain lodge-ish), there's a parking lot at the entrance, the large portions of food and the quality, the prices are all right, there's ample seating, the menu is robust, they have good desserts, and the wait time for my food was surprisingly short. I even dig their fun menus that are fashioned after newspapers. And of course, the staff was really great as well. All good. I tried their corned beef and hash since I didn't see anyone else post photos of it... and it's one of my favorite breakfast dishes (after eggs benedict). It was amazing! I prefer corned beef & hash where the ingredients (corned beef... potatos... veggies...) are tossed together, not flattened into a single "patty." And to this end they delivered. The eggs and toast were also great, and they included some nice garnish to make it presentable. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have their own line of hot sauces, too! There's pepper, habanero, and I think smoked chipotle sauces to liven up your dishes. There's only one thing that held me back from giving 5 stars, and it's a bit of an odd one for me. The lighting. Most of the tables have lights hanging over them, however the lights hang so far down and close to where you're sitting that you're being partially blinded by a bright light bulb. I know: weird, right? It's not something I expect them to fix... any time soon or if ever... but having to actively avoid looking up too much avoid being blinded is a real drag. Thankfully some of the smaller seating arrangements don't have lights over them, but the majority do. That's all! Great place though, I'll definitely come back with my partner but I'll be sure to request we sit somewhere not directly under the blinding lights. :)
It is nice to visit different black bear diners. there was plenty of parking outside. the staff was attentive and the food was good.
Always have a great experience when we go except this time. I went to go pay and showed my card to get stamped. Was suppose to pay for one and one free meal. Never had a problem before. But the cashier said he wouldn't stamp it twice. He said your NEXT vist would count as your free meal. Got the supervisor. She said the same. The manager who we always have a pleasure talking to and always accommodates us wasn't there. We wouldn't of come that day if we knew we were going to pay for the second meal. The bill was $50. . The supervisor Isabel wasn't accommodating at all since we told her we are there often.
Food was great, service staff were nice and friendly, only minor complaint was the slow service. I waited a little longer than usual for the steak and eggs, I should be a little more patient. Just noticed the table next to me whom arrived after me got their orders before I did. Also the other table of four was ready to go, they’ve been waiting for a while too. They’d waited so long they politely said they’ll pay for the drinks and leave. Overall 4/5
There was plenty of seating available on a rainy weekday when we went to Black Bear Diner in Colma. The restaurant is country bear-themed and charmingly decorated with trees and bears throughout. The menu is printed on newspaper and features contributions of shout-outs of their employees in the front, an extensive menu on the inside, and their story on the back. Interesting reading! We ordered a breakfast entrée (scrambled eggs with large sausages, homestyle hashbrowns, a side of grilled ham, and toast), and the blackened pesto salmon (which came over sauteed spinach and tomatoes, diced sweet potatoes, and mashed potatoes with gravy). The food was good and the portions were huge! All in all, I recommend coming here for a nice meal, at a great value, in a cozy restaurant! Oh, and they have awesome looking desserts and a small gift shop, too!
Feb 2022 dinner: Yup, I had the prime rib again. This time, my cut was fattier than previous times, which I didn't mind, and they now serve it with au jus! It was a struggle to finish it all, even though I was super hungry. May 2021 dinner: their prime rib is awesome! Only served Fridays and Saturdays after 4pm. Comes with mashed potatoes, veggies, soup/salad, and a cornbread muffin. Excellent value too for $26. 2020 breakfast: Their portions are huge, so definitely come here hungry. Friendly service and good turnaround time from placing an order to serving. Definitely coming back to try more of their breakfast items.
They are super friendly, and the food is good, but used to be better and bigger portions. The carpet needs to be replaced very badly. The decor is cute but the carpet smell and the change from oldoes to country music has made it a less fun experience.
I ordered sausage and scrambled eggs, hash browns, English muffin and an orange juice. The hash browns and English muffin was a little over cooked, but that's easy to fix. My fault for not specifying my wants. The service was on point, staff was friendly. I took my mom out to breakfast and she had the Shasta Veggie Scramble. That looked really good. I'm going with the muffin next time. Great place to take family and friends.
Black Bear for breakfast is the place. There is a large selection of different dishes available. Read the menu carefully. Servings are very large. It would be nice if there were a Senior discount. Black Bear Restaurant is wheelchair accessible there is plenty free parking. This restaurant is nice & quite durning the week. Weekends there is a long wait line. Great customer service though and though. Yes I will return to Black Bear.
This is my husband’s go-to spot for Country Fried Chicken—and now I get the hype. The restaurant was packed, but our server got us seated right away m. Portions here are massive, so I went with the Caesar Salad with Salmon. Husband of course ordered Country Fried Chicken. The salad? Light and crisp with the perfect amount of dressing—just how I like it. The salmon could’ve used a little more salt and pepper, but hey, it still hit the spot. As for the Country Fried Chicken? No notes. Crispy, juicy, and as dependable as ever.
I have been here many times mainly in the morning when I am craving for some breakfast. As you enter the diner, the interior has bear and zoo theme decorations. During Covid, the interior dine in was unavailable and they only had outdoor seating that was located in the parking lot. Nowdays the dine in is back open and you can enjoy without the cold weather. Their menu consists of breakfast platters, sandwiches, omelettes, drinks and much more. Everything is made to order which is always a plus for me and I never mind the wait since I am a very patient person. The staffs here are welcoming, well trained and understanding where I never encountered an issue during any of my visits. I recommend this place to all breakfast lovers, if you have a hungry appetite or to anyone looking for a laid back spot. I might be back in the future to tryout the other options they have to offer.
My husband and I went on Valentine's Day for the first time. The atmosphere is fantastic! The food was delicious, and the portions sizes were huge! The gift shop area was small and cute (I wish they were selling miniature bears). The only downside was that the pricing was very high.🤯😱 So much so that we might come back only for very special occasions and not on a regular basis, which is a shame.

I have three stars because I got a dirty cup twice, it had a red lipstick lip marks on them, it was disgusting to say the least. The waiter apologized but didn't compensate me for giving me a dirty cup twice. Food is ok too, not so good.
Classic diner with rustic vibes, clean and good service. The corned beef hash, biscuit, and grits were slightly disappointing; however, they consistently do good pancakes, eggs, and bacon, which makes them a breakfast mainstay whenever I'm in the area. I will be back to try the pot roast and meatloaf.
The servers are very professional and helpful with smiles. The food today arrived late due to mishap on the orders in the kitchen. The food was served ordering two orders of the same. One order came with fruit bowl and the other was missing. The hash brown today was burnt and not crispy like before. The egg Benedict was good.
Giant portions. Just be aware their grits are bland and a little solid, you will need to season them. Fresh squeezed OJ. Bread pudding was unfortunately burnt and hard, only ordered it because the chef was from Vegas. Omelets were the only thing with any flavor. Pancakes were dry as well unfortunately and they weren't even busy on Saturday morning at 9am. Service is good.
Second time here after they opened. They still are under staffed, kitchen is swamped. Restaurant was about half full but still waited 45 mins for a table. Ordered pot pie and when it did finally came out it (maybe 20 mins) was barely warm. I could pick up the pie and hold it in my bare hands. Waiter took it back and I had a hot one in 10 mins, obviously premade and reheated when someone orders. Surprised manager didn't come over and apologize, and offer something. Obviously new staff but I would assume management would have worked out the issues after 3 weeks of being open. Food is ok, but staff needs more training or hire enough staff to make it run smoother.
We had the bigfoot chicken fried steak with eggs $21.79 and a reuben sandwich $17. The food was decent this time but wasn't great. The chicken fried steak was a good sized 10oz. But the gravy needed work. It was plain and I had to put a lot of salt and pepper to make it edible. The corned beef on the reuben was very dry. Service was excellent.
Service is good. Had the Friday fish fry. I think the fish at long John's silvers is better. It's just a basic diner like Dennys and IHOP. Alot of options and good size portions and affordable. Maybe id try again for breakfast
As you know, this is a chain restaurant, the food quality is very stable, but not delicious, but it is suitable for family gatherings and you can stay for a long time. The service is friendly and the portions are large. Chicken fired steak $28 - 2 dished , muffin , salad Sourdough cheese burger $22.45 was pretty good Chicken N waffles $22 , but pancakes was too thick , heavy and dry
Parking: a lot of free parking. Cleanness: seats and tables are pretty clean. Don't see any flies in the restaurant. Food: I personally prefer a light taste. the salmon is good but the pasta is a little oily. Meatloaf is a little salty, maybe it's right for others. The restaurant has its own dipping sauces. People should try it if they go.
Was seated, then left after 20 min. No waiter, no water, no explanation
The fries were too oily and soggy; they didn't strain it long enough and possibly cooked too fast that it partially tasted a bit raw. The hash brown is too thick and not crispy. The juice is outrageously priced close to $8 each We ended up recooking the meal at home I wouldn't be as upsetl if the $70 meal was cooked properly.
The pot roast dinner...I did not get any vegetables...one carrot slice, two small celery slices...everything else was mashed potatoes and boiled potatoes!!! Where were the vegetables? Very little meat! They were out of several desserts and finally, we just had the server tell us what they had. The berry cobbler...the pastry was not flaky and well baked...it was raw and looked like plastic! Tasteless! The bear claw doesn't look anything like the one pictured! The coffee is strong! The ice cream was good! I was greatly disappointed! Nothing like the other Black Bear Diners I have been to!!! The service was good!
I was expecting more for the high prices. My Fries weren't crispy, I had to ask the waitress to have their cook toss them back in the fryer. Onion rings for $10.99!?! I can tell they were not freshly made. I might as well have bought frozen, gone home, and fried them up myself! My overcooked burger with grilled onions was a waste of money. Should have followed my instinct and went to In and Out like I originally wanted to! But my friends breakfast plate was decent. So, if you're still interested in dining there, I say breakfast is probably a safe way to go
I ordered the 4 pieces fried chicken (crispy) my chicken was burned way too fried (overcooked) more like chicharron hard to bite. When I complained I was offer to have the chicken replaced to be cooked at a lower temperature the waitress claimed if they cooked that way the chicken. Could be rare in the inside so I said let me keep it. I kind of took the xxxcrispy apart there was not a lot of meat on them. I didn't eat it. You would think the manager would come over to apologize for the meal BUT nope not even offer to take the chicken. Off my bill. I'VE ORDER THE SAME MEAL BEFORE IT WAS NOT burned. NEVER GOING BACK THERE AGAIN.
The reason of my 2-star rating is due to the service. The waitress appeared to be in a rush since the moment he showed up at the table. Even though there was no delay for.our order he did not asked if we want to small size for our kids’ drinks. That a usual question/suggestion in other places. Also, for my drink(beer) the glass that he brought came with WATER! Like is was just washed and not even dry. Also, when my wife made her order, she was planning to order the soup as a side, but he said, and I quote: “I don’t suggest you the soup. They made it and it's too watery”. Probably he was having a rough day, who knows? However, talking and acting like that that does not leave a good impression in the customer’s perspective.
There was no one up front when we walk in. The place was slow so it was the midweek afternoon social hour. The 2 tables full of dishes were like this untouched the whole time we were there for our meal. We had to wait about 10 minutes for server to greet us and take our order. It was another 20 plus for the food to come out as the only order in place at the time. Top priority was the staff social standing around at the end of the counter eating cheesecake. When customers left there was a young lady rushing to clean those tables. The food was good, and our server was nice. I didnt see a manager out front during our visit. We were there close to an hour this afternoon on a slow day. BBD71

I would have given a higher review if we ever got our food. We used to go to other locations and had a pleasant experience. I'm not sure why this location was so different. After 45 minutes, we finally flagged down our server who acted like she thought someone else had dropped off our food. Which is a lie because she had walked by 3x and looked at us and it was clear we were not eating. Then she went to the kitchen window as if looking for our food and it looked like it was nowhere to be found. We just left because breakfast was now lunch at this point. We're probably never coming back. Not to this location at least.
The food was not good at all. we order hamburger without cheese and we got it with cheese. When we complained about it they took the hamburger and just removed the cheese (thank God my friend is not Allergic to cheese).
DONT COME HERE EWW DISGUSTING IM EMBARRASSED!!! THERE WAS ANTS CRAWLING ON MY TABLE ALL OVER THE SALTS PEPPERS JELLYS && MY FOOD WAS VERY MUCH RUSHED NOTHING WAS PROPERLY COOKED!! SICK!! MY SISTERS EGGS WERE SLIMEY NOT COOKED LIKE THEY JUST CRACKED THEM ON TO THE PLATE !! MY BREAD WAS NOT TOASTED MY SUASAGE WAS PINK INSIDE !! MY POTATOES WERE JUST OILY STIFF NASTY THE WORST UNCOOKED MEAL OF MY LIFE !! BE SAFE GO SOMWHERE ELSE GROSS!!😭🤮THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN !
Look I really enjoyed eating here until ‘I ordered on the phone today’ First mistake. I ordered a sandwich with fries for 14$. Pick up my order and went to my car. (There was only half a sandwich) went back to the diner and asked the manager were the other half was? He said, ‘ the mac&cheese Order came with half a sandwich and fries’. Huh? walked out leaving the receipt behind and still confused!!! Ones I talked to my wife we wonder why we got charged for the Mac and the half a sandwich separately??? And who the world orders a half a sandwich for 14$? I went back to ask for the receipt. The manager had crumbled it up and threw it in the garbage. He then proceeded to look through it. (took him a wile! (Anyways that’s not the bad part). After talking about the confusion, He ended up asking the cooks to make me the other half. (🤯).. as i waited (he began to run other customers food) not once did I see him wash his hand or put hand sanitizer on. 🤮.( ‘but you’re hands were just in the garbage looking for my receipt!!) i I thought to my self. The half sandwich I got had (bread, ham, lettuce and tomato) nothing else. Dry dry dry!!!! We returned the whole order and kept the rest of the food. Got home to eat my 26$ diner steak and I got a steak thats the size of a kids pancake. Very disappointed and disgusted in this place. Save you’re time and money don’t go. Don’t eat here.
We go here twice a month, but the the week we’re here I think they where short of people or cook, it took 30 minutes to someone get our order, I think it’s the manager, and onother 10 minutes for my coffee, and I saw a couple and a kid that was sitting for 45 minutes and there order never came , no waiter came to them to apologize and at least tell them the food is coming, we are about to leave, when they stand up and Leave, Feel sorry for the Family, that was not a good service, we don’t even know our waiter, no one come back to check with us, Sorry first time we never leave a Tip ( always 18 percent of our bills)
The sausage was raw. The eggs looked and tasted like powdered eggs. The hash browns were burnt not crispy. It was a terrible meal. $25 for a cheeseburger was ridiculous. I will not return here.
When arriving, we were seated by a server. This is my second visit to this establishment. Upon being seated we ordered drinks, a sweetened iced tea the drinks came out. I was served unsweetened tea which had to be returned. This is my second visit as a Google reviewer to this establishment. My First visit and review of this place two months ago wasn’t very favorable the last time. This is a typical American Greasy spoon restaurant. I definitely had reservations about coming back here and eating a second time especially after the very first time here. The atmosphere was cold inside, and at the table the condiments and the bottles were unclean. And we’re not full. I ordered a fruit bowl as an appetizer before the main course. I also ordered chicken sausage links with a sunny side up eggs with french fries, white toast and an order of bacon. The meal came out for a late breakfast upon serving me, the server dropped one of my fries on the floor from my plate and just left it on the floor and walked away.. immediately my order was wrong. They had served me a chicken fried steak with country gravy. Instead of the chicken sausage links. And the Food had to be returned to the kitchen. Some time later, the food came back out, with the correct order, the appearance of the chicken sausage links over cooked and greasy to the look and to the taste. The Fries were cold after the first order mistake that was wrong being returned to the kitchen the eggs were now also cold and the toast was luke warm. All because the original order was wrongly placed by the server and made by the kitchen my bacon had gone cold by then by the time the rest of the meal came back out again. Bacon was overcooked and two crispy that it was crumbly. For dessert I ordered a banana cream pie that arrived. It was very appealing from the outside, but was warm in the middle. For something that is probably frozen and defrosted in a microwave by the kitchen which this should be refrigerated. The cream on top was warm. The cream was prepackaged and these pies are probably ordered from another supplier. The banana cream pie the bananas filling were at the bottom and off color brownish. The taste of the banana cream pie was very unappealing, overly sweet and left a bad taste in my mouth and I refused and couldn’t finish this desert . So for an $80 order for two people. I found the quality of food and the service very below par and this disappointing. Upon leaving I was sickly ill from the quality food that was served. I can see the definite reasons why they have declining ratings being at present a 3.0 stars on Yelp and on Google this place has bad reviews by customers. Definitely not a place i would not recommend this place as the food preparation and the quality of food were definitely not healthy and was not budget friendly. Food is overpriced. And I can also see the staff don’t enjoy the job and are not very customer service orientated. This will definitely be one place I will put down and not recommend to frequent for a meal. there’s a lot more cheaper alternatives and better quality food and service to be found.
If I could give the service 0 stars, I would. This was our first time at Black Bear and we wanted some time to look at the menu. We politely asked for some time, and if we could order drinks in the meantime. The waiter responded rudely, but brought our drinks. After getting our drinks, it took a whole 10 minutes for our waiter to come back and ask us what our order was because “the kitchen seemed to lose it” when he had never even taken our meal order yet. We ordered our food and he gave us an excuse that he went to the bathroom and another waiter was going to help him. He said this while we had watched him wait on other tables, look at us, and seemingly avoid us. We ate our food and finished our drinks but nobody had asked us in that time if we were liking our meal, or if we wanted a refill. We were so kind to leave the empty cup right where they could see it too. We ended up tipping $2 when we shouldn’t have tipped at all. Service was a joke and we will not be returning here again until there is some serious reform.
This has been our go to place for many years but sadly this will be the last time that I will be going here. Today was my son’s birthday and we were served by the server who turned out to be the manager. He never gave us utensils after bringing our order. I had to personally get the utensils from the kitchen to serve my in-laws, my wife and my kids . The wait was very long and to add insult to injury, when we complained, the manager accused me for being rude after we had rightfully complained as longtime paying customers. I was hurt but this situation and was insulted in front of my family. The experience was horrendous and traumatizing . I have reported this to corporate as well as left a message. I hope I get a call back as I am seething from frustration and anger over what was supposed to be a happy occasion for my son and instead was left grappling with this God awful experience.
Yesterday me and a friend had lunch at Black bear diner in Colma, my friend had the breakfast with the chicken fried steak and biscuits e said it was okay. I had a hamburger with avocado and it was the worse hamburger I have eaten in a very long time small very thin burger Berger King and McDonald’s are much better. I haven’t been to Black Bear Dinner in a couple of years and they used to have one of the best hamburger I ever had and used tell all my friends about how delicious they were. The reason I went to Black Bear diner today was because I seen the commercial on TV about the $14.99 breakfast that they served all day but the waiter said that was not available today. What happened to this restaurant ? I won’t be going back
Food was unappetizing terrible and cold. Service was just as terrible. The server never once checked on me after taking my order. He forgot to bring my drink. So ate with nothing to drink. He didn't even show up after my food was dropped to see if I needed anything. I didn't get syrup with my French toast I had to ask the person who brought my food. My server Looked irritated to be there. The experience was horrible. I definitely wouldn't recommend going to this location.
