Opiniones de Duke’s La Jolla Coronado
We were here for restaurant week, and we left with bellies full of yummy food. Good vibes, nice ocean view, outdoor seating with heated lamps. Food was amazing and I highly recommend the ahi poke tacos. It was very delicious and fresh. We also ordered a fish entree. Mac and cheese was a bit watery but the breaded fish was cooked to perfection. Now.... The dessert. THE DESSERT!! This pie was the highlight of my day. 10/10 will come back again.
Food-delicious. Ordered the Kalua Pork Sandwich and Hula Pie. Kalua Pork Sanwich was of a decent size, didn't look massive but it was very filling. Pork was of great quality. Highlight of it was the mango barbecue sauce. Have been to the islands a couple times and have tasted many different barbecue sauces, and in comparision with other mango barbecue sauces, their's is very sweet (almost tastes like guava). Hula Pie was absolutely massive and the photos you see don't lie. Its basically a giant slice of ice cream with fudge, chocolate syrup, nuts and a cookie on the bottom Service-very good. Server whos seated us (believe his name was Brandon?) was very jolly and really made us feel welcomed. The server who served us was very understanding regularly checked on us. She wasn't as jolly but was definitely compassionate. Atmosphere-overall very nice. For us we got seated immediately because we wanted to eat inside (outside had a long wait). From LA, and this place basically summarizes the vibe I got from La Jolla. Its very welcoming and a charming place to dine out at for occasions. If you are a broke college student, realistically I can't see people coming here regularly due to the prices but if its a special or family occasion or if people have the money to spare, it's nice to have once in a while. I would argue its the experience thats worth it and the food acts as a supporting factor
Found Duke’s online and had to try it while in La Jolla for surgery at UCSD. It was the perfect celebratory dinner. Great table with a sunset view, and our server was incredibly sweet with excellent recommendations. The coconut shrimp and mac nut herb-crusted fresh fish were delicious, and the rice pilaf was perfect. Finished with key lime pie and an after-dinner cocktail at the bar. Wonderful food, great service, and an all-around fantastic experience.
Really cool spot with great outdoor seating. Our server was awesome and the food was incredible. My wife's filet came out over done, but the quickly got her a new steak, comped the filet, and offered free dessert as an apology. One of the sides for the steak is a creamed corn, and it was the best corn my wife and I have ever had.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Duke’s La Jolla — A Truly Memorable Dining Experience Duke’s La Jolla is exceptional in every way — delicious food, a beautiful atmosphere, and a level of hospitality that stays with you long after you leave. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and prepared with real care, making the meal feel both comforting and elevated. What made the experience truly stand out was the outstanding service. The entire team was warm and attentive, but I especially want to recognize Will Landry, Special Events Coordinator, whose professionalism and kindness made the evening unforgettable. His gracious hospitality and genuine care for guests set the tone for an experience that felt personal and incredibly welcoming. From the ocean view ambiance to the thoughtfully prepared dishes and exceptional staff, Duke’s is the perfect place to enjoy a beautiful meal in La Jolla. Highly recommended.
We randomly stopped in while passing by it was not to busy the food and service were great! We also where places closer to inside we saw a table leave and asked to move so we can have a view our waitress had no issue moving us before our food came out. She was lovely!!! We had the fish tacos, fish and chips, and a chicken salad they were all sooo good!!! Would definitely eat here again! The drinks were so good as well! Do not pass on them!
To my surprise, the view of this restaurant is spectacular during sunset. Easy to find. Some street parking but best to come by uber. Came here with a group of 7 for a company group outing. This place is great for big groups, company meal, or romantic dinner. Their outdoor patio dining is where to sit at. I almost felt like I was in Hawaii. The staff were very accommodating as we wanted to sit closer to the ledge to see the water. I didn’t know how everyone’s food tasted but my husband’s and my dishes were good. For appetizers, we tried their ‘crab wontons’ and ‘panko crusted calamari’. I loved the crab wontons had a good amount of filling that you didn’t need the sauce. That is how it should be like. The squid in the calamari could be a tiny bit softer. I think it was a little overcooked but still tasted good with the sauce. We had their Mai Tai and Lavender Colada. The Mai Tai was all alcohol but better that way for the price! Haha The Lavender Colada, you have to add dark rum on top. It was good but did not taste any lavender in it but the coloring. I had their Hot Pot and it was excellent. Flavor of the coconut broth was so good, I finished the soup. It came with a small lobster tail, mussels and white fish. A good balance. My husband’s had the ‘Filet Mignon’. I thought it was cooked well with good seasoning. Didn’t like the corn with it though but then I am not really into corn. They only have two desserts that we liked and that was the Hula pie and Key Lime Pie. Key Lime Pie is the one to get! I love the crust! You just have to be wary if you are not sitting underneath the big umbrellas as outdoor eating attracts the birds. Make sure you are fully underneath the umbrella. Still a great place for service, food and views. Totally recommended this place.
Solid Hawaiian restaurant with incredible views of the Pacific Ocean. Calamari was okay, coconut shrimp was good and the macademia nut crusted fish was the real star. Hula pie was impressive but one note. Go here for the view, food is decent but the view and atmosphere take it to the next level.
My wife and I stopped in for dinner during our first time in the San Diego area and we were very pleased. First, I'd like to say Sean S. was an awesome waiter. From providing recommendations, to being warm and welcoming, it was a delight to have him as our server. The food was very good. We shared the panko crusted calimari and enjoyed our Furikake Ahi Steak and sautéed macadamia nut and herb crusted fish dinner. There's a great selection of beers and cocktails as well, like a virgin lavender pina collada that my wife had. But the real show stealer is the hula pie. Incredible, really left an impression. It's enormous and the hot fudge just brings it all together.
We came here on a recommendation for the views and the food—and both delivered beautifully. The service was warm and attentive, the non-alcoholic mixed drinks were refreshingly delicious, and the food was just as satisfying. We especially enjoyed learning about Duke’s history and its impact on the local community—it added a meaningful layer to the experience. A memorable visit all around!
Duke’s La Jolla is a great waterfront patio to enjoy a meal and cocktails. The patio was busy for lunch, but they accommodated us quickly. The service was fast and attentive. The calamari was different than others I’ve tried before, but it was delicious. The tuna bowl was simple, yet executed well. You can look around and see many different types of people enjoying the restaurant. There were people working remote, on a business lunch, or simply enjoying the nice weather.
We stopped by Duke’s La Jolla on our way back to Los Angeles after visiting the La Jolla Cove, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip. It happened to be Restaurant Week, so we took advantage of their specials—and wow, the food was fantastic. The poke tacos especially stood out, fresh and full of flavor. We sat in the back overlooking the ocean and mountains, and the view alone was worth the stop calm, scenic, and relaxing. The staff were friendly, attentive, and our server went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. If you’re in La Jolla Cove, I definitely recommend stopping here. Great food, amazing views, and a welcoming atmosphere make Duke’s a must-visit.
We had a great experience here! The food was delicious — we especially recommend the macadamia nut crusted fish, the banana leaf fish and the hula pie. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming. It’s also very kid-friendly with a kids’ menu and high chairs, which made it an easy and enjoyable outing for the whole family.
Great Location, Awesome view of the ocean. Great vibes. Definitely make reservations it's a popular place. Food was amazing 🤩 I had the Ahi Steak and my wife had the Fish Special it was Halibut. Both meals were very good. We also had the Coconut Shrimp 🍤 Appetizer it was delicious 🤤. We will be back here again

The food was fabulous, the servers were attentive and the price was on our ballpark. I don’t know what more we could have expected
Nice place with a great view of La Jolla cove and shores. Appitizers were excellent, entrees were very good. Service was fast and friendly. The poke tacos, coconut shrimp and short ribs appitizers were especially good. We also really enjoyed the sirlon steak and the macademia crusted fish entrees as well as the seared Ahi. The seafood hot pot was just seafood on some rice with coconut milk, bland and boring. The only real disappointment was the caesar salad, which was small and very poorly made. Parking is a bit challanging, give yourself an extra 15 to 20 min. to find parking.
Dukes is a classic Hawaiian-fusion restaurant chain found among the coast in Southern California. It’s a great place for groups, which is the only time I go. Dukes is one of my family’s to-go restaurants. The food is really standard (like Hawaiian Cheesecake Factory) but it has a fantastic view! Definitely worth a visit, especially for those coming from out of town. Aloha!

Come for the ocean view and a few drinks, but save your appetite. The food is mediocre. I remember going to Dukes as a kid and the food being way better. I feel like they need to add more to the menu. We spent close to $400 for 4 adults, which seems a bit high for what we got for our money.
Water views, food absolutely average, hostess Marco was oblivious and the blond young lady hostess told me I screamed at her when I gently asked where she was seating us. I responded with “you’re going to be ok.” Because she was terribly overwhelmed and the restaurant was only a quarter full. What a bizarre little place.
Dukes in La Jolla offers one of the best ocean views around, absolutely stunning. The restaurant is super clean and well-organized, with a solid menu full of great options at decent prices. The food was fresh and tasty, no complaints there. Unfortunately, the service really missed the mark. Not sure if the staff is burnt out or they’re just understaffed, but it felt slow and inattentive throughout the visit. With better service, this place could easily be a five-star experience.
In my humble opinion, Duke's is great for the stunning views of La Jolla and the water. The food, on the other hand, is nothing special. The wait for two guests was not long at all, and we had a gr…

Dukes. La Jolla. 2026/01/26. 6 pm. Recommended by a local. Hostess was not friendly nor welcoming and not concerned about ADA health issues. There are no ramps nor ADA access here. First, she tried to send us upstairs immediately when over 10 tables available on ground floor. Large wide high staircase. We then asked for elevator and directed us to elevator at kitchen entrance across the hall. Waiting Waiting Waiting for elevator... so we asked for restroom location. She said there's one upstairs. I replied I'm sure there is but I'm diabetic and needed one now. She then referred us to the restrooms just a few feet away, on same floor. Still no smile or kindness. She just seemed annoyed. We went back to elevator by the kitchen. Waiting, Waiting, Waiting again until a server walked by and told us elevator was not working, out of order. WTH didn't she know??? Again no kindness or care, we were truly upset. One server explained and said we need to use stairs. I explained I have health issues and cannot climb that many stairs plus there's lots of open tables on ground floor. So he went to hostess to explain. She asked for our names and again, seemed annoyed. So now we're 'on the list'. Still the rude, unhelpful attitude. So we went to sit nearby but we saw the bar and a few empty hightops. Went back to Missy Rude and asked if we could sit at the bar or hightops. She again couldn't care less but said sure. So off to the bar we went about 30 minutes after we'd arrived. Evan at the Bar, server was excellent! Lots of smiles, kindness and great service. Sure, we could have left much earlier but I'm a diabetic, already wasted so much time and didn't want to go wait at another restaurant. The food was good, flavorful but not worth the La Jolla prices. BTW of those available ground floor tables, there were at least 5 that remained empty the entire time we were at the bar across from them. We definitely will not return to Dukes ever again. We ate at several restaurants in the La Jolla/San Diego area that were soooo much better in customer service and food served. NOT RECOMMENDED!!
Came here because heard the views were amazing. I asked for a table outside assuming it would come with a view, but after being told there was a 15-minute wait, I was seated outside with no view at all. It would have been nice if the hosts had clarified that not all outdoor tables have a view or given the option to wait longer for one. The food was also disappointing — the poke tacos tasted old, and everything came out surprisingly fast, which made me question how fresh it really was. Overall, not the experience I expected from Duke’s given the great reputation and location.
