Fifty50 ASHBOURNE

We had a booking for 10 people yesterday. A birthday celebration. The service was excellent, from being greeted at the door on arrival, to every request been met with a smile. Food was delicious and served in a very timely fashion, especially as the restaurant was very busy. A birthday drink on the house for the birthday boy was a really nice touch. And it was the man running front of house that approached the birthday boy All round a really lovely afternoon. Karen

Food and service were great ! The pastas in particular were excellent and creamy. The place had a fantastic vibe and it was buzzing with some good noise and sounds. Only thing to point out is the ventilation was a bit low and with a crowded restaurant it does get a bit stuffy.

From the from reception till we said good bye to them. Everything was amazing. Service, food, genuine concern…top notch. We enjoyed every bit. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Hats off to the team.

Really tasty food and cocktails. Early bird menu is good value. Cocktails are a bit pricy but well made. Service is excellent, the restaurant is typically busy so it’s not the quietest place at peak hours. Nice restaurant for occasions/ celebrations

We went 50/50 last night for a birthday celebrations meal Everything was perfect they even came with a candle on the desert & sang happy birthday 🎂 really a very thoughtful touch. Mick was especially wonderful..he appears to really enjoy his job Wonderful person. Definitely will be back & highly recommend this restaurant

Great experience as usual in this restaurant. Everything was very tasty, the staff very kind and helpful, every dish was decorated in a lovely way. For my friend the staff prepared a sweet surprise and they all came to sing happy birthday with us. Restroom very clean also. Really recommended.

Party of 4 with one celebrating a birthday. Staff very friendly and menu knowledgeable without being intrusive. Everything that we ordered was delicious, brie, garlic bread, prawns, curry, carbonara, pavlova, sticky toffee pudding etc. Staff made a fuss of birthday girl too. Quite a busy place with high noise levels but I think this lends to the atmosphere that people are relaxed and chatting and enjoying their evening. I will definitely dine here again

Amazing food! We ate Chicken Cesar, Goats Cheese Salar, Salt&Chili Chicken Wings, and Calamari. Everything was perfect. Portions are big, great value for money.

We booked the table for the early bird menu. The meal was tasty, fish was very good. Nice chips. Portions for main course are big. However, desserts are rather small. There is a nice selection of drinks, cocktails. Service is very attentive and friendly. If you coming from Dublin, the bus leaves you 3 min walking to the restaurant.

I haven't been to Fifty 50 since having kids and while it's a lovely spot for a quiet dinner after 8, it's easily one of the best family restaurants in the Dublin area. The service is efficient, fast and friendly. The food was exceptionally good, the arancini were the perfect taste and texture with a simple rocket and caramelized onion garnish. The steak sandwich was a little unwieldy and falling apart but once I cut it in two, I was able to manage it and the hassle was very much worth it. The steak was cooked perfectly (medium) and mixed with peppers, onion and chorizo. It tasted so fresh and juicy, I really enjoyed it. The chocolate brownie was a little plain and served with an unnecessary dollop of foamy UHT cream next to it, but it was still quite nice and had a little waffle cup of chocolate ice-cream beside it. My wife had the Gateau Diane and I regretted not getting that, it's a light cream, meringue and almond dessert with chocolate flakes that looked great and tasted even better. One for my next visit. Overall, Fifty 50 is a great spot with friendly, helpful staff (not a given in other popular Ashbourne restaurants....) and a great offering, even on a busy Sunday afternoon. They served quite quickly too, which meant our kids were happy and fed early on, which allowed us to have a chat without pestering! We'll be back soon!

I'm outraged by the appalling treatment we received at FIFTY-50 Ashbourne on March 9th, 2026. A waitress mis-sold us a meal deal, and when it came to paying, she vanished. The manager, Mick, took over, bullying us to "just pay and leave". His aggressive behavior was shocking – he even chased us out like dogs! As a loyal customer of over 3 years, this was a nightmare experience. I expect better from a reputable brand. Mick's behavior was unacceptable, and I demand action. No customer deserves to be treated this way. I want: - CCTV footage reviewed - Investigation into the incident - Action taken against Mick for his behavior This was a terrible night, and I hope changes are made to prevent it happening again.

Really tasty food and cocktails. We took an early bird menu that is good value.The Service is excellent. Goat's cheese salad with roasted beetroot is my favourite! Thanks guys

Service was amazing! Especially Orlagh was very attentive ☺️ Food was very tasty! Got the seafood pasta in tomato sauce was delicious! First time I finished the pasta and still had lots of seafood left! Would definitely drive out here again and bring my friends next time!

While visiting Ireland my husband and I dropped by this place for lunch. The staff here are super friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, I would definitely recommend this place.

absolutely perfect. We came without booking and even the place looked completely full we were said to wait and in 2 minutes we had a seat. Service perfect, not to personal, food and wine 100 percent tasty, creative. Keep doing great work

Very nice place with a good ratio of waitressing personnel. Friday and Saturday evenings reservations should be made, otherwise few chances to get a table. Good taste and creative menu!

AMAZING! Came here for my friends birthday! The staff were rushed off their feet being so busy but that did not stop the great service they gave us! The food was delicious and so were the cocktails! Enjoy the whole experience!

Pizza here was really nice enjoyed by myself and the kids really good value for the kids meals with a 2 course meal offered including a dessert. Great value for money food for the 5 of us only came to 65 euro, especially in the current times were in with prices gone up everywhere. Friendly and welcoming staff which is always a bonus. Highly recommend this place.

The food was excellent, the staff so accommodating and helpful and patient with us. We were a large group and a very noisy chatty group. Would definitely go there again.

Love this restaurant!!! Excellent food for any budget...lovely staff....the only letdown is the toilets....advice: the place is BUSY, at all times so try and book in advance! Duck spring rolls and Surf n'turf (highly recommended)

Nice romantic anniversary dinner, everything from the wings starter, to Carbonara and malteser cheese cake was very tasty.

Staff were amazing, lovely to deal with and brilliant at catering for people with allergies. The food and cocktails are also delicious 😊 I will definitely be going again!

Came here tonight and was very impressed! Had entrees, mains, and desserts from the early bird menu and everything was spectacular. Special mention to the steak sandwich, carbonara, and prawn linguine. Portion sizes were awesome for the price. 10/10!!

A great little spot in Ashbourne. The food was great, although there were one or two dishes that were only okay. (Frozen?) The cocktails were strong but good. Service is fast and friendly. Price is reasonable.

Fifty50 gives a bright open atmosphere with excellent food. I had prawns in a spicy white wine sauce with home made bread. This was a highlight of the meal. The sauce was wonderful, sweet and lightly spiced. and the bread brought it all together. The main was a mixed meat paella. It was a generous portion. I would have liked a bit more spice, but still throroughly enjoyed it. It paired very well with their cocktails, and selection of wines. My only criticism is the outside. I arrived at night time. The restaurant was dark. It didnt look like the place was open. Some more lights outside would be a great help.

Had a wonderful experience here recently, really enjoyed the whole atmosphere and friendly vibe that the staff including the front of house manager presented from start to finish. Food arrived hot and delicious and the place was tidy. Only thing I would have improved was the bacon which came out as a huge thick fatty rasher that ruined the burger and was inedible upon biting. Other than that I would definitely return!

We went to 50 Fifty for a birthday celebration. The staff were friendly and efficient. It was 6pm and we hadn't booked in advance, the restaurant wasn't busy as it was 6pm midweek. We ordered from the early bird menu which is available till 6:30pm. It was €26.95 for 2 courses or €30.95 for 3 courses. The atmosphere was good the restaurant was at about 1/3 capacity. For starters we ordered wings, fried brie and calamari (which was overcooked) For the mains we ordered Fish & Chips, 50 Fifty Burger, Pollo Funghetto and Carbonara (I don't recommend this dish) For dessert we ordered Brownies (really good) and White Chocolate & Strawberry Cheesecake (couldn't taste the chocolate or strawberries) We had beers & cider with our food. As we were celebrating a birthday, I asked for a candle in the brownie, which didn't arrive with dessert but a plate arrived during dessert with a candle in a scoop of ice-cream and a complimentary cocktail (nice touch) and the staff sang happy birthday. I recommend 50 Fifty.

Hostess was brilliant. Accommodated us after an error in booking. Server was lovely, friendly and chatty. In between courses no server could be found to collect plates and clean table. Ashbourne branch wasn’t fully booked (able to accommodate a table for 6 last minute). Food: Chicken quality was very poor; chewy, cheap tasting chicken. Sauces were bland. Had high expectations and recommendations for Fifty50. Let down.

Drinks are brought out promptly after ordering. Order a start of brie with raspberry sauce however came out with garlic sauce instead so was lacking flavour. I got the Fifty50 burger it was nice. When it's a hot day this restaurant gets extremely hot inside which ruins the dinning experience in my opinion

If it wasn't for the staff, I would have given one star. The low rating is mainly due to the quality of the fish and chips. My dining partner had this and as I could clearly see they were struggling to eat it, I asked if it was ok. They offered me a taste and it was awful. It just didn't taste like it was fish. The chips were frozen ones, which I guess was also the case with the fish The batter on it was actually nice and the chips were well cooked The staff were excellent, just a shame that whoever buys the ingredients, let them down.

We were there yesterday to celebrate my husband's 38th birthday. They call this place "a restaurant" but you dont have that feeling when you enter the place. The staff meet you wearing jeans and simple t-shirts or tops. Don't ask you where you would like to be seated just give a random table somewhere in the corner. I had my warm goat cheese salads that meant to be with roasted pepper but came in with marinated pepper and beetroot, doesn't look to the picture from their website. BBQ wings were nice. We received our mains, chicken breast fillet in a creamy mushroom sauce with rosemary potatoes and vegs (was not bad: 7 out of 10) my husband got Tiger prown Linguine it was 7 out of 10. Finally, it was notified that it was 38th birthday occasion on the booking but the staff did not give any complimentary cake with a small candle so it felt a little bit weird because usually in the restaurant it's a must when notified. Anyway, we left this place and didn't enjoy too much, felt like we had our lunch in one of Ireland's pub but deffinatelly not in a restaurant.

⸻ I recently visited this restaurant and was extremely disappointed with both the food and the service. To start, the garlic bread had no garlic at all — just plain warm bread with zero flavour. The garlic mushrooms were cold, as if they’d been sitting out before being served. The service was just as poor. We were never asked if we would like any drinks, and we had to ask for cutlery and even salt, which should be standard on any table. Basic things were constantly missing. The mains were another let-down. The lasagne tasted like a block of baked cheese, with the bottom burnt, and it lacked any proper sauce or seasoning. The carbonara had absolutely no flavour — just a bland white sauce, and the pasta was swimming in it, making it heavy and unpleasant. Even the facilities were disappointing. The tap in the men’s bathroom barely works, and the ladies’ toilet didn’t flush at all. Overall, it was a very poor experience from start to finish, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place.

The staff are lovely and the place itself is grand, but the food is the worst stuff I've maybe ever seen. I was with a large group, wide spread of ages and dishes, so I really did get a glimpse of what they aerve here. After having a taste of many dishes and a mere look at the rest, I can unfortunately attest that what was roundly served was absolute muck. Telling whether it was the ingredients or the lack of attention to them is beyond anyone's comprehension but it's certainly clear that the person okaying the service is unconcerned by the chef's incompetence. I imagine that the chef is under introduction to simply dole out the crap they are stocked with, and quickly. Shockingly bad food, but the worst point was that the customers looked unconcerned and quite ar ease. Surely Ashbourne can do a bit better... A disgusting culinary joint.

Will never go back here again, my first and only time in it, I ordered risotto. It came out from the kitchen in literally 5 minutes. Risotto that cooked properly should take a lot longer than this to cook. I ate it and we paid up. I was only put the door of the place and I just threw up everywhere. Got v bad food poisoning. Will never be back.
