Good breakfast on the go, huge burritos. Looks and taste like from your kitchen. Hubby and I got to go. Could use hotter salsa but that’s personal preference.

Stopped in for lunch while on a road trip. Service was excellent. Food was good. Prices were very reasonable. We had sliced brisket sandwiches with sauce on the side and the catfish dinner. While we were there locals tended to order chopped brisket (instead of sliced) and catfish dinners. The sweet tea was the real thing not something you tend to see this far north. If you’re looking for fancy this isn’t your place.

Passing through we stopping for lunch. Got a double brisket Sammy with beans and slaw. Little one got kid rib meal. Great portions! Tasty meat, not too heavy on the sauce. Very friendly staff!

Hodie's BBQ is fantastic; I go every time I am in the area and I am always disappointed if I don't get there during their business hours. Great food, friendly staff and a casual, down home atmosphere - can't beat that combination! I get the two meat plate, usually ribs and brisket. I eat my fill and take the remainder with me; turns into three meals for me. I don't care for beans, so I double up on coleslaw or potato salad.

Even though we've come through here a thousand times over the years, this is the first time we've stopped to eat at Hodie's... And I'm so glad we did! A small, mom-and-pop bbq joint with adorably folksy, kitschy decor, this place is truly a hidden gem. When we sat down, the table was graced with a framed handmade needlepoint and a full bottle of Texas honey. In just a couple of minutes, we were greeted by our friendly, smiling server, and she had our drinks right out to us and took our orders. I ordered the sliced brisket dinner, and my husband had the three-meat combo platter (double ribs and sausage), which arrived almost immediately (maybe 5-10 minutes?). To say this was good barbeque would be an insult. This was AMAZING. My grandmother always said that you could tell the quality of the food by how quiet the table was... and I bet ten full minutes went by in total silence lol You absolutely MUST stop at Hodie's. With their wonderful staff and food, they've elevated bbq to a place that most restaurants only dream of.

On the last leg of a 3 week, 6,500 mile trip out West, I crossed back into Texas with a huge appetite for some Texas BBQ. My route led me through Dalhart to a great welcoming sign, Hodie's Bar-B-Q!! The place was busy, a good thing, so the anticipation was heightened. I wasn't disappointed. Great food, no-nonsense decor, and wonderful patrons made the trip back homeward a great experience.

While traveling with my husband on a quick road trip, we decided to sample Texas barbecue. Eager to indulge, I ordered a chicken sandwich and a combo meat plate with three selections. However, the barbecue didn't quite meet my expectations. The ribs were overcooked, resulting in a hard and crispy texture at the ends, and the chicken was passable at best. Despite the culinary letdown, the customer service was good.
