Love the food and the service. Few celebrations later I can tell you this place is very special to our family and friends.
Comfortable, with a neighborhood feel. I felt like I was back in a Parisian bistro. The service was great and the ambiance was easy going but polished, with white tablecloths. The food was fantastic. Chef Cadot has a lifetime of experience in fine cuisine does not cut corners on his technique. He stopped by our table and conversed with us about food, art and living. We will go back to this place a lot.
The best restaurant in North Dallas. Heavy on quality and easy on the wallet. The wines are excellent and the house spirits are the best. My favorite vodka is Cadot's house vodka. The Beignets are better than in New Orleans. Don't go too often or I may nat be able to get a table.
The owner/chef helped me put together a menu for my wife's birthday and did a fabulous job. The food was terrific and within my budget! Thank you for making our party a success.
Fantastic place to go for romantic dinner or with friends ! Food is amazing Waiter was very attentive French live singer on Saturday night Best cappuccino
Amazing dining experience. Came for our 11 year anniversary with the kids. Rui is one the best servers we’ve ever had. He was so nice and amazing with our kids. Will be coming back for sure!
This French restaurant looks like a charming and elegant spot with a cozy yet upscale ambiance. The soft lighting, classic white tablecloths, and carefully curated artwork on the walls create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The paintings, especially the ones with food and nature themes, add a touch of old-world European charm. The food presentation is exquisite, starting with a fresh Caesar salad served with a crispy crostini topped with tapenade. The dessert looks like a beautifully layered pastry, opera cake, elegantly plated with raspberry sauce and fresh raspberries. The cappuccino adds a comforting finish to the meal, and the stylish silver table lamp enhances the refined dining experience. I love it so much
This is the very best North Dallas neighborhood French family restaurant/bistro. The food is always top tier, prepared fresh and perfect. There are monthly offerings that vary with the seasons that are always a delight. The prices are very fair, so much better value than you would see in most of the fancier French restaurants towards downtown. And, the service, by an established and seasoned regular crew of waitstaff, is the nicest and best around!
We had a wonderful and heartfelt Thanksgiving lunch at Cadot. The service was attentive without being intrusive and the food was simply prepared to let the freshness and craft shine through. The flat iron steak and pomme frites were the table favorite. And the wild mushroom and brie soup was perfect for a chilly, rainy Dallas afternoon. Thank you Cadot
Absolutely delicious! Had the goat cheese salad and a crepe (Valetines Day). Presentation for the food is executed with such care and the flavor was very rich for all the dishes I have tasted. Service is always on point along with the bread (hot and crisp everytime!) My favorite dish so far has been the veal.
The restaurant has an intimate welcoming, quaint seating, hot and fresh savory food. The offerings was clearly explained and accurate.
Ok dining experience, but nothing that really stands out. The food was good overall—well prepared and enjoyable—but it didn’t leave a lasting impression or feel especially memorable. Service was fine and professional, though fairly standard without much personal touch. The atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable, but again, nothing particularly unique or exciting. Everything was “okay,” just not exceptional. It’s a decent option if you’re in the area and want a reliable meal, but not somewhere I’d go out of my way to return to or recommend as a must-try.
I am updating my review since I sincerely want to get my favorite restaurant back.. Cadot was my favorite restaurant in DFW. We always came here to reward ourselves with phenomenal foods almost every month. Unfortunately I have felt that food were saltier and lost a delicate tastes. I am keeping my first review and photos here: I had my best birthday dinner here. We ordered Goat cheese salad for appetizer, sea-bass, and lamb for entree. All foods we ordered had perfectly balanced taste and texture. Food presentation was so colorful and pretty. Wine we ordered was Alexander Valley Chardonnay. I loved its slight carbonated touch. It went well with sea bass and lamb of course. We ordered chocolate lava (Fondant au chocolat) for dessert and it was perfectly cooked with proper sweet and bitter. Lastly I appreciate birthday surprise creme brûlée. It was my best creme brulee I’ve ever had. Will definitely revisit :)
We came to celebrate bday. Upon entrance door was not inviting , foyer was Warm! Atmosphere is antiquated , nothing attractive . I guess need some interior decorations changed. Food - we ordered salmon( salty sauce ) braised short rib ( meat stringy ) veal ( guest said good)and seafood linguini ( nothing special ) and soufflé ( so hollow ) I guess wrong choice for dessert .soup mushroom with Brie was good. Salads were French serving size . Music man was good but a little intrusive .. Waiter- doing his job but since none of us drink , maybe not good for him . Price- $$$- $$$$ Parking - lots of space Reception - arrogant frontliner Will I go back again ??
It’s alright. I had the Escargots, Short Ribs, and Creme Brulee. My friend had the Risotto. For an upscale restaurant, it’s a bit disappointing. First, the waiter was snooty because my friend didn’t order much. Second, the food itself wasn’t very tasty. Third, the bread served in the beginning was stale and hard to chew without hurting one’s mouth. The waiters and waitresses were very attentive in refilling water, however. There was also an accordion player who was making it very awkward for one of the tables by playing so long for them. The people’s awkward expressions were very amusing. Overall, it wasn’t bad per se, but we were expecting more for a 4.7 star-rated restaurant. The food seemed to be milder, tailored towards older people. It just wasn’t spectacular for the price that it’s worth. Expect to pay around $50-$100 on average for a full-course meal.
Valentine’s Day Dinner Review We are French and have been here before. The first time was very good — the manager was great and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, tonight was a very different experience. Kitchen: The chef is talented. The technique is there, and the presentation is beautiful — worthy of a fine French gastronomic restaurant, especially for the appetizer and the main course. The lamb was cooked perfectly. The chef clearly knows what he’s doing. However, while the dishes were not bad, they tasted “neutral.” This is not a criticism of the chef’s skill, but rather, in our opinion, possibly an issue with ingredient quality and purchasing decisions. The plate looked beautiful and colorful, but the flavors were missing. The lamb should be flavorful and bold — instead, it was quite ordinary. The sauce tasted like it could have been made from powdered stock. The vegetables had no real flavor. In summary: Beautiful presentation, strong technical skills from the chef — but bland ingredients. Atmosphere: Intimate, classic, elegant, clean — very French in style. The setting is lovely. Service: Our server did not come once to ask if we were enjoying our meal, if we needed anything, or how everything was at the end. He didn’t even say goodbye. We also noticed that his behavior varied significantly depending on the table and the guests. We are always polite — we say please and thank you — but he seemed visibly unhappy and inattentive with us. To make matters worse, he brought the check while we had just started eating dessert. That felt very rude and unwelcome — almost like we were being told to leave. The difference in treatment between tables was noticeable and honestly uncomfortable. It affected our experience throughout the meal. We have come here several times before. For a $291 bill, we still left a 20% tip out of courtesy. However, this will unfortunately be our last visit. It was disappointing. They should invest in more flavorful, high-quality ingredients, because their chef truly has the talent to deliver a high-level dining experience. Best of luck to you.
Ordered a seafood crepe for lunch. The crepe was sitting in a bowl filled with sauce and it looked like a small bowl of soup. The crepe was soggy from all the sauce that was poured over it. I ate half of it which is 4-5 bites and couldn’t eat more. Then I was sick a few hours later and up all night. Dessert was good. Atmosphere was nice but very old looking. I won’t go back. I use to eat there often years ago. I feel the seafood was not fresh and that caused the stomach issues. I feel it’s gone down over time.
So incredibly overpriced. The fish special was Dover sole, price wasn’t on the menu but DEFINITELY wasn’t expecting to see this meal be $80. We felt scammed and overall had an unsettling experience here. How is their “house made soufflé with house made chocolate” $10 and a glass of wine is $13 but a piece of fish is $80….. would never dine here again.
