This is a nice and trendy looking place. I had the coconut ceviche made with redfish - it was delicious and beautiful, served in a half coconut. I also had the carrot habanero soup - y’all don’t sleep on that soup - it tastes amazing! The regular ceviche had a great flavor too. Our server was nice and personable. Can’t wait to come back for the ceviche and soup…but I also want to try more things. Highly recommend!

This feels like a Mexico City restaurant with the the design and colors and patio like dining. Open and airy with a large fountain. The chef has been featured in food channels. Excellent Mexican food. Light sauces not heavy and flavorful. Went back again last night and had the salmon y avocado. A delightful take on salmon (cooked and chopped and spread across sliced avocado)) with a light sauce on the plate.

Having a reservation for our group of 12 celebrating a birthday, it was the first time to Jose for each of us. The space is comfortable and appealing. My house frozen margaritas, short rib enchiladas and guacamole were excellent as were the chips and especially the tomatillo salsa. Overall the food is excellent and one companion remarked about the coconut ceviche. The service overall, was acceptable: not excellent and not bad. However this and the excellent food experience pale when the server refused to split our check. One companion spent almost 30 minutes splitting it manually. I cannot remember ever, any restaurant refusing to split checks. I realize this can be a challenging task for servers that work very hard. However, modern point-of-sale systems make it seamless and easy. Knowing it was a large group, perhaps the server should have asked about split checks in advance.

José has really good food and a great vibe, especially in December. Overall a pretty good spot. Service was a bit slow as our server seemed very busy and tired, which we understand given how crowded it was. Would still recommend and would visit again.

We loved our food and having a palate for authentic Mexican food from several experiences in Mexico (Monterrey and Mexico City), we can say the food here was great. None of the servers seem happy to be there and lacked the latin hospitality. I would say that maybe our server was having a bad day, but all the servers and bartenders seemed a little miserable. We were there midday and many of the seats on patio had not been tended to. We decided to sit inside where it was more comfortable and very clean. The food was so enjoyable that I will return and hope for happier service next time.

If you’re looking for a spot where your margarita gets almost as much attention as your entrée, Jose is a solid pick. The food is good — not great — but the handmade corn tortillas are legit (better than most in the U.S., though still a step below the real thing in Mexico). Brunch is lively, the vibe’s upbeat, and the bar has a pretty good tequila and mezcal lineup — enough to keep things interesting without being pretentious. It’s on the pricier side, around $30–$40 per person, and yes… they do the mandatory valet thing (cue eye roll). Still, for a fun meal with friends or a weekend brunch with a buzz, Jose earns its spot on the rotation — just manage your expectations and your parking frustration

Would give five stars if there were more veg options! But what they have is so good. Get the mushroom tacos if you’re vegetarian. Seriously so good! The atmosphere is a total vibe though. Like if you want to come relax at a restaurant that is vibey and chill, with a good bar too, this is a good place.

Right turn at the River Styx, and what do I find? José in Dallas. Service was, dare I say, saintly, the kind that makes even a restless spirit want to leave a decent tip. Nice ambiance and friendly staff. But the flautas, good god, were they BLANDER THAN A MUMMY'S CURSE! The chicken needed a kick, a jolt, SOMETHING. The texture was acceptable, a crisp exterior giving way to a tender filling, but the flavor profile was practically non-existent. Palomas, while visually appealing, leaned toward the bitter side. Presentation was on point, mind you; plating was well-composed and colorful. But looks can be deceiving, darling; you can't eat art, especially if it tastes like grave dirt. Just add some salt at least.

We ordered Short Rib Enchiladas, Chile Relleno, Cheese Quesadilla & chicken fingers for kids Also ordered Street side corn and Queso Con Rojas Queso was cold by the time we got to table, corn was okay. Short Rib Enchilada were great, Chile relleno were in very watery salsa. Cheese Enchilada and Chicken finger were ok! Fries were pretty good, kids loved them. Elevated Mexican food that was pretty solid. They provide chips and salsa, but it seemed like the chips were ones that I could buy from the grocery store for $2. I had a frozen hibiscus drink that was delicious and the Tacos Carbon were also pretty good. They have a super nice patio that was heated which was well needed on a cold day. There is also complimentary valet.
