Opiniones de Mishka's Cafe Davis
This is a really great local coffee house. I just feel warm and relaxed in here. Tasty coffee, sugar free coconut milk, friendly baristas and the jazz music is a nice touch. Come on Davis, get your coffee here so we don't get any more chains!!!
A neighbor told me it hs the best coffee in Davis. I agree. And their egg or bean wraps & muffins are pretty wondrous too. Service can be slow. Can be busy depending on what's happening in town at the time.
Mishka's cafe was my secret weapon for academic success! With its cozy vibes and nice coffee, I conquered the last part of my PhD dissertation here. Who knew caffeine and comfy chairs could be such a winning combo? Big thanks to Mishka's for the fond memories and for fueling my brainpower. Whether you're tackling a thesis or just in need of a great cup of joe, this place has got you covered!
Best Tea selection in town. Beans roasted on site. Tumeric Latte was excellent. New York Times and Sac Bee on old school library rods.Very busy when UC is in session. Grad students hyper focused on their laptops next to the boomers in the non schoolwork section. Great book store across the street.
Best coffee in Davis. Possibly the entire state. My mother would gift her brother their dark roast whole beans when they'd see each other and he owns Bryant Family Winery so he has good taste or something. I've also lived 9 years in NYC with coffee snobs and no place they took me in NYC ever beats the beans I get here.
After two years, I have to say that this coffee shop is probably the best place to study or socialize. There are numerous outlets on the sides. The coffee is good but not spectacular. There are two or three tables in the front for chatting. The only major problem is that it's hard to get a seat during the busy hours.
Best coffee house and atmosphere music in Davis. Get coffee and snacks and bring to the Varsity theater next door. Esthetic atmosphere. Impress your dates and friends!
This cozy, European style place is set up to have coffee and stay. There are usually lots of students working at their computers, collaborating or in conversation. But it is not only the student crowd. Business people meet there as well. There are manner tables and chairs outside to enjoy the good weather and stay COVID safe.
Mishkas is Davis's own local, legit coffee shop. Everyone wants to study here, which means often the lobby is full and a bit cramped. But usually there is a spot hiding in the crowd, and almost always ample outdoor seating. The coffee here is some of the best in town. There are better places if you want to know the story and geographic history of your bean, but if you want yummy reliable espresso then Mishka's is the place. I almost always get a double Americano (light on the hot water) and I'm never disappointed. When I want to change up to tea, they have I think over 100 choices of teas. At least 90 because #91 is fabulous. Mishka's also has a bug selection of pastries and snacks. Notable good choices: chocolate muffin, cinnamon roll, and (seasonally) vegan pumpkins chocolate chip cookies. Frankly those vegan cookies are about as good as cookies can get - which is reeeeeally freakin' good! All in all Mishka's is the best coffee shop in Davis, and a college town staple. Go there and have some coffee!
Mishka's is an excellent coffee shop. Their coffee is first rate. Indoors and outdoors, it is a nice place. And perhaps best of all, the service is much faster than other coffee shops downtown.
I have loved Mishka's since I was an undergrad at UC Davis. Their menu is interesting and no other coffee shop in Davis can compare to some of their offers (the lavender and rose lattes, as well as the rooibos tea latte, are exceptionally unique and tasty) and the baristas are kind. The atmosphere is very Davis and I can't recommend it enough.
Mishka’s is a Davis staple! Roasts coffee in house, baked goods are delicious and staff is very friendly and ready to help you! If you can please support them during these trying times. Buy some delicious coffee beans, get a gift card for a friend, purchase some merchandise.
From Hawaii, to Oregon, to Arizona and back I have never had coffee like Mishka's! I order my usual Mishka's Latte with Whole ( and vanilla). The staff is sweet, the energy is always on point and I have never left without a smile. I drive at least 20 minutes out of my way when I know I have the time to spare just to get some coffee from this hidden gem!
Loved Mishka's! It felt like a cafe you'd find in NYC, and fantastic concept of having a non-working designated area. Staff were fantastic, knowledgeable, and helpful. Amazing assortment of loose leaf tea that you can buy to take home.
I’ve been coming to Mishkas for years. My favorite drink is the two tone mocha. I love the coffee here, and enjoy studying here as well. Mishkas serves my favorite coffee in Davis.
Awesome selection of teas with the option to smell before you buy make this coffee shop quite appealing. I like their fruit smoothies, but I know others who dislike the fact that they're not made from fresh fruit and that they are so sweet. It's in a good location, but the indoor and outdoor seating, as well as the bike and car parking really fill up at peak times.
Super nice people, tasty coffee, vintage jazz. Art. All that's missing is an open mike. Indoor/outdoor seating, and right next to an independent theater. You can buy snacks and drinks here to take to the movies (Italian soda, chips). The worst carrot cake ever, but the best oatmeal, and real butter for scones! Recommended.
Great place, small store, but obviously well loved--if the friendly crowd is any sign. A great vibe, a better pastry selection than the coffee chain across the street, and, most importantly, an incredibly large selection of teas, a reasonable number of expresso drinks (for a tea shop), and a nice variety of mocha and tea lattes.
The best coffee quality in Davis. This cafe is a work of art. It feels like Europe.
I've always been a fan of independent coffee shops. Even though I don't drink coffee, I thoroughly enjoyed my iced chai this afternoon. I got it extra strong for a nice kick. If I hadn't been coming back from lunch I would have grabbed a pastry. The apple crumb cake looked delicious.
Great atmosphere with the right amount of buzz to not notice neighbor's conversations but doesn't get like enough to be considered noisy. Lots of choices, easy to read menu, and helpful staff. Seating is close but individual. Windows throughout and artwork. Tables set aside for no computers! Thank you for the non computer tables!
Love the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Great tea - even have a roibos latte which is a great caffeine free option. The baked goods are yummy, especially the chocolate chip cookies (they will warm it up for you)
This conveniently located cafe offers a full menu of locally roasted coffee, competent baristas on well maintained (clean) higher end machines, and plenty of seating inside and out for study and meet ups. Lots of baked goods, too. But coffee and conversation/study, that's what they're about. Keeping it simple, they do it very well.
I really enjoyed the Iced Maple Latte here, as well as the chocolate covered espresso beans and the banana bread. The staff is super friendly and relaxed. The music is nice and calm, and there is plenty of seating.
Stopped by on a whim when I was in town and looking for a cup of coffee. They had a seriously good espresso! Perfect double shot that tasted fantastic.
I love Mishkas. It’s the absolutely only coffee place I go to in Davis. I always get the Rose latte with almond milk because I’m intolerant of milk. Not a fan of the turmeric coffee but I don’t complain about it because, guess what? I just never ordered that again. Anyways, this is a reminder to always be kind to the baristas. How would you like it if someone showed up to your place of work and berated you. Cheers!
It has great tasting coffee. The location is very lively and nice. It is a little packed but that is what's expected from a downtown coffee shop with lots of seating. The prices are relatively high but not too bad. It definitely worth the money what they have to offer.
I like this cafe 💙, I just wish the interior design was a bit different. The seats are too close to each other and it makes me uncomfortable when the cafe gets crowded.
Let's just say every single time I've visited Davis, I've stopped by Mishkas. The drinks they serve are reasonably priced and delicious. They also serve a variety of food, from breakfast sandwiches to scones and cookies. The atmosphere is busy, but cozy. You'll always see it filled with college students studying. I highly recommend getting their Apple Tea and cookies. (Pro tips you can request for cookies to be warmed up.) 5 out of 5 coffees.
Stopped in Davis during a long drive at this cafe that was crowded with mostly college students. Excellent selection of coffee drinks. In fact, so many unique choices I had a hard time choosing between them. Ordered an iced dirty Thai tea. Delicious and not overly sweetened. Also had a yummy chocolate chip peanut butter cookie.
What a great place! They have great coffee and a great vibe! I appreciate that they have a study, and a non study side to their shop. I had a great Americano, and my daughter's got a mint latte, and a mint mocha. All of out drinks were tasty. We also highly approve of the cat in their logo!
I love their lemon poppyseed muffin. The hot latte is always excellent. I really enjoy spending my afternoons studying here.
Amazing study spot or just for a quick bite and coffee. Even at their busiest hour their service is still very timely. If you’re looking for a study spot, this place is a great and cozy atmosphere but can get very crowded later in the day. They also have reusable mugs for non to-go orders and you can even bring your own mug! My go to spot to do work in downtown!
Coffee is great! Nice flavors! Love the rose latte my absolute favorite. The Irish cream latte of the month is also pretty good too! The poppy seed muffin is also not too bad and not too crazy sweet either! Good size.
Quick stop in Davis for lunch break and we found this adorable coffee shop. We had mint latte and cappuccino. Mint cappuccino was delicious with a subtle minty flavor. The m&m cookie was huge and delish!
We love this place and the hot chocolate is the best! Every time we come to Davis we have a little treat here and our favorite Mexican Mocha and Lavender Latte. The outside sitting area is limited but if you get lucky you can find a nice comfortable table. Surrounded by beautiful threes.
Cheese cake was the best I’ve had at a coffee shop. Loved the atmosphere, felt relaxing. The oat milk latte was creamy and delicious. Wasn’t impressed with the mishkaccinos blended coffee. But plenty of sweets and treats to choose from, and the their hot coffee was great!
My favorite coffee shop in Davis. Love the cappuccino! I order with oat milk and cinnamon. Hits the spot every time, they also give you a delicious dark chocolate covered coffee bean to compliment the drink. Local artist’s work is on display as well. Thanks Mishkas ☕️ ♥️🐱 -Anthonyxibarrax
The atmosphere definitely gives off a student study vibe. Which is easily justifiable considering it is in the city of Davis. The art drawing I attached was completed by an artist I met here at this very cafe couple years back. Just simple proof that talking to strangers at coffee shops can have good outcomes! 😁

A great cafe to sit back and relax with heir cozy indoor space and outdoor seating for cooler days. I enjoy the unique menu and twist on classic drinks. Very big tea options as well.
Whenever my sisters and I visit the Davis Farmer's Market, we always stop at Mishka's. The abundant seating, tall ceilings, and natural light make for a comfortable ambiance and the coffee is superb. We love having quality coffee and bonding time at Mishka's!
Mishka’s Café is hands down one of my all-time favorite coffee shops — not just in Davis, but anywhere. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the warm, cozy energy that makes this place so special. It’s the perfect blend of artsy, relaxed, and timeless — a true Davis landmark. The coffee is exceptional — rich, smooth, and brewed to perfection every single time. You can tell they take real pride in what they serve. Their espresso drinks are amazing, the pastries are always fresh, and everything pairs perfectly with the calm, welcoming atmosphere. Whether I’m meeting a friend, studying, or just taking a quiet moment for myself, Mishka’s always delivers the perfect experience. The staff is friendly, the music is mellow, and the entire vibe makes you want to stay for hours. It’s more than just a café — it’s a community spot with heart and soul. If you’re in Davis, do not skip Mishka’s. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why you fell in love with coffee in the first place.
The coffee here is rich and well rounded for those who enjoy real coffee. The horchatta late was a subtle sweet that let the coffee shine. The pastries are wonderful. My coffee cake was buttery and soft, easily the best I've ever had. The owner is a kind no nonsense gentleman who keeps a quaint, wonderful shop.

Coffee Quality 2 out of 5 The coffee quality is what I find the most value in when visiting cafés and coffee bars. Their light roasted coffee could use a modernization upgrade. The emphasis on Organic and Fairtrade is admirable; that doesn't dictate that its high quality seasonably sourced and extremely fresh (harvest or roast). Ambience: Classic late 90s/2000s vibes with soft jazz, old school tunes, darker paint and a ton of dark wood. Not a touch of modern inside, making it a more "vintage/old" experience. I imagine this is an iconic shop for Davis, as its been around the neighborhood. TONS of seating with ample outlets around the area. Decent outdoor patio size. I don't love older decor shops, but I'd never empart that preference on my review. The space was clean, which is important. Pastries were awesome: 5/5 The scone was so good. Perfect texture, sweetness, and "weight" you'd expect. I'd think about coming here for the pastry side of this "café". I'd be hard pressed to order espresso, drip coffee, or non syrup focused drinks from the espresso machine. Customer service: 3/5 Eh. Nothing to write home about, nothing to complain about. It was a transaction of money for a good. No conversation or emphasis about their quality of product on the bakery or coffee side.
Great atmosphere, good coffee. Mostly populated by laptop users, silent and absorbed. Some tables reserved strictly for actual socializing. Would give 4.5 starts except the espresso was not quite up to snuff, though still very good.
coffee was decent. chocolate chip cookie was excellent. great vibe inside as well
Great food and drinks but cramped space.
For the same cost (or less) of a Starbucks or comparable chain, Mishkas offers high quality, fair trade, organic beverages. Outdoor facade of the building is inviting and quaint in a very modern, tasteful style. The inside is cozy with warm lighting, and a livingroom vibe which has become characteristic of many cafes these days. The place is usually busy and has a constant, lively hum of conversation; it's clear that this is a local favorite. Yet, the staff and beans were underwhelming. While the baristas were pleasant and welcoming, they had an apparently shallow knowledge of the flavor, source, and preparation of their organic, artisanal beans. The enthusiasm with which they answered questions was greatly appreciated, but unfortunately their answers were shallow in detail. The beans were noticeably better than a chain cafe in the sense that they had a bold, rich flavor and a full aroma. However, the flavor was also one dimensional and unremarkable, lacking complexity. Overall, Mishkas presents cultural appeal for those wanting to experience a local Davis spot, but better local places are likely to be within an hour's drive.
Great little cafe that's a Davis staple. Nice selection of pastries and a whole chunk of the cafe that's for folks who are not on their computer. It's quaint, definitely not the best coffee in town, but has a nice tea selection. Worth stopping by and doing some work in a funky space that has a lot of character. Atmosphere 4/5 Service 4/5 Coffee & tea 3/5
Good coffee and great staff. The food how ever is not very exciting. This place could be so much more with tasty food and better pastry selection. I go to Europe a lot and the cafe's over there has the best cafe style food and absolute delicious pastry's. I think we have a lot to learn from the "old" countries.
You always wait a while for your coffee here. This place is hella packed any day of the week. Count urself lucky to get a table, inside or out. The drinks are pretty good but the pastries are not exceptional. I spilled my coffee once because the lid was not fully secured. All in all decent, but check the lids before u squeeze the walls of ur cup or dont wear anything expensive.
good aesthetics and jazz/swing music, good coffee
I drink coffee a lot and their coffee is better than Starbucks/Peets. This place is also decent if you are looking to study, but if you 're the type that need quiet to study then you might want to bring a headphone because the place can be noisy and packed especially during midterm/final week. It does have a nice study atmosphere though and it closes at >10PM unlike other coffee places. Internet is most of the time slow-medium due to the number of people using it.
I love the variety of teas here. My favorite during the summer is an iced peppermint tea. They have coffee and a few smoothies here but I've only tried the strawberry smoothie. It's a great place to hangout and be amongst the locals.
A well-loved spot for gatherings or study sessions (4/5 green stars also) Mishka's has a nice atmosphere, lots of indoor and outdoor seating, and opens quite late (esp. by Davis standards). I had an Americano and a small piece of Earl Grey shortbread ($1). The Americano was made from medium roast beans (soured from Guatemala, Ethiopia, Peru, and one other place that I’ve forgotten because my brain was coffee-deprived when the information was communicated). Overall I liked the coffee – good flavor and not over-roasted. The shortbread was good too. A solid 4/5 for everything. I’m also giving Mishka’s 4/5 “green stars” for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons: • A sign in the store indicates that their coffee is fair trade and organic. Beans are roasted on site. • More info on their relationship with growers would be helpful – there’s none to be found on their website or packaging. • Plenty of vegan pastries available and plant-based milks too. • Cold cups, hot cup lids, etc., are not compostable. • Would be nice if they didn’t give lids on cups as default (i.e., like Peets) to save plastic. • Packaging for beans is not compostable. • They upgraded to LED lights to save energy – the California Lighting Technology Center at UCD calculated that they save over 10,000 kWh per year. • Provides a community gathering place and gets involved in community events. Ever written a green star review? Please contact me if you have done so, or if you’d like to know more!
The times I have been there the staff is busy and friendly. Definitely worth the stop, and it may be standing room only.
We two stopped to have a coffee while walking around Davis. My Americano was very good, as was her decaf latte with non-dairy milk; both were served in ceramic cups. It was pleasant to sit at a table outside in the sun and watch the world stroll by.
A great local coffee shop with church pew seating indoors as well as tables outside, Mishka's offers up exactly what coffee shop enthusiasts need: a delightful atmosphere to drink a finely curated and brewed coffee or tea, gentle jams playing overhead, and a welcoming vibe. The wifi can be a little weak if you don't have a top notch computer (and many of the students in town do), so for someone like myself who travels with a low-powered Chromebook most of the time, it's difficult to bully your way into the bandwidth (I end up using my phone as a hotspot instead), but if you're there to read or meet with others for a chat, you couldn't ask for a better place. The Chai is great. The coffee is as well. The entire place smells of roasted coffee beans. It's quickly becoming a favorite spot of mine, and it will treat you well also.
More like a 4.5 star review. Delicious coffee with great choice for baked goods. Great chill vibes, very European or Latin atmosphere. But the service is slow, definitely not in n out type of place. Loads of space for studying while setting up books and laptop with a cup of espresso
Used to be my favorite spot to study, but unfortunately the wifi is so slow that I can’t study here anymore :((
Coffee and pastries are top notch. I’d recommend against trying to work or study here, the internet is extremely slow and spotty. Great spot for reading or meeting up with people, not great for everything else.
Good and creative variety of coffee drinks. I liked the multigrain croissant and also the ham and cheese. During the week it is hectic and depending on the time, parking can be difficult. It gets easier on weekends. I will come back to try more pastries.
The cafe itself is like library, because it is filled with students using computer, doing their homework. Also it's totally self service so you need to get the drink and food all by yourself to the table. I sat outside and the drink is so full that it spelt over my trousers...Anyway, the taste of food is just okay, but i really enjoy the outside atmosphere, because basically you sit under an unknown tree and the white petals keep falling down, it's like in a japanese movie.
I got a lavender latte and a pastry. In terms of specialty coffee, there wasn't any super nice latte art done or anything. It tasted good though, not too sweet. I'm not sure if I'm a big fan of the atmosphere of the Cafe though. It's very crowded and can smell a little musty. The decoration is cozy though. I think they sell a wide variety of teas which is nice for noncoffee drinkers.
I was enjoying my coffee before hitting the road back to the Bay Area. I opted for the cappuccino, and it definitely tasted great. Even though I've been to Davis before, I never had the chance to visit this cafe, and I must say it didn't disappoint.

Cozy environment with good coffee, tea & pastry options, a few outlets to recharge (would be nice if you could add a few more), the big windows add lots of light and the staff is kind

I like Mishka's a lot, nice atmosphere, nice coffee, nice vegan treat options. BUT, their WiFi basically does not work. Their prices are inaccurate unless you're paying cash. AND, they CHARGE for hot water... even if you are a paying customer and you have your own cup! I simply wanted some more hot water added to the tea I had earlier in the day in my personal cup and they wanted to charge $3!!
Nice and cozy place where to get a good espresso, latte o cappuccino. Certainly recommended in Davis. I'm not giving the 5th star as they suspended the use of reusable mugs, with the excuse of the pandemic, which is completely inexplicable. We all lose a big pleasure sipping coffee from disposable cups, and create an enormous quantity of unnecessary waste that goes to landfill. This is an airborne disease and there is NO REASON to stop serving coffee in a real mug. It's only a misleading store policy leading to more non-recyclable w waste in landfills. Everybody in Europe serves coffee in real mugs and even other establishments in Davis (Temple). Wake up corporate America, stop being so environmentally damaging! We are in the 21st century and we need to do our part to save this world!
Good hot chocolate with fresh whipped cream, decent chai, and tasty chocolate mini muffins ( especially when heated up!). However, also very cramped indoor seating, atrocious music (I sit outside), and no more than vaguely filling breakfast options. Just expensive pastries and some bland bagels.
Met up there for a coffee date. Ordered a mocha which was delicious. Both my date and I sat waiting for our drinks only to realize they were just sitting on the bar. They asked for our names but didnt call them when our orders were ready. Not sure if that's an occasional thing or not but it was kind of annoying. I sat there for a while before it was pointed out to me there was a drink at the bar so I went up and sure enough it was mine. Maybe not have that be a thing.
Average, tries to be quaint but falls short. Staff is quite friendly when not otherwise occupied. It's a college cafe in a college town catering to people with bland senses and short attention spans. It's outdoor seating area is quite nice and really bumps up the rating. To be fair, for Davis, it's above par, for most are rushed, hectic experiences catered to a group that loves corporate coffee while hating corporations (which sums up the college mindset). Mishkas at least tries to be different and that is something.
Wide selection of great tea, decent coffee and wonderful pastries. Good place to study/read if you can find an open space to squeeze into. Not so good for meeting up with others due to the popularity and often crowded seating area.
The only thing this place has to offer is the atmosphere. I always loved the atmosphere and I was willing to put up with the terrible tasting coffee in order to have a cozy place to study, but after trying a few other cafes in other parts of California, the thought of going back to Mishkas makes me sick. I simply do not understand why people drink it. Starbucks is right across the street and isn't the best, but still better than Mishkas.
I love this cafe it’s beautiful and the employees are nice. I used to come here all the time when I was a student. However, they have cheaped out on their internet. If you are meeting a friend to socialize it would be a perfect spot! I don’t think the foods anything special but the drinks are really good!! Which is why I am giving them 3 outta 5. When I went there the cafe was only half full and I thought I lucked out! Then I realized the internet was so slow I’d have to pack up and leave anyhow.

Coffee is definitely overrated. My americano tasted burnt. Customer service was poor. They attendants were quite rude; smiling occasionally might help. I had an hour to kill and needed to get some work emails done. I tried in vain to get their wifi working. I should have just gone to that other corporate place around the corner. At least their coffee is consistent, and their wifi works.
The atmosphere is great and the staff is friendly. It feels very Davis (probably the bike hanging from the ceiling). Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. I ordered a coffee cake and a cappuccino and I was disappointed with both. The coffee cake was tasty, but cold - probably taken fresh from the refrigerator. I would have liked it warmed up, but this wasn't even offered. The cappuccino was not good. It was served in the correct size (yes!), but the milk was steamed much too hot and foam was shoveled on top. When taking a sip, the scalding milk pierced the foam and delivered a hot and tasteless surprise right to my tongue. Bleh. My girlfriend, however, ordered a 16oz Mishka's latte which is basically steamed milk and vanilla. Very tasty, but of course in a 16oz drink you don't get much coffee flavor - just milk. Sadly, I don't think I'll ever go here again. There are other shops in Davis who make much better coffee.
My wife and I have been to Mishka's several times over the years and love the environment and the coffee. Our most recent visit be brought our two sons (one is 3 and the other is a year old) to grab coffee before walking around Davis, but the staff truly made it a bad experience. We did not feel welcome and our business ($20 worth without any kids cocoa pricing--no complaint there, just a note) did not seem appreciated.
I am a bit disgruntled with this place. I work remote sometimes and went to this location on my lunch break during a short walk. One person in line in front of me. I asked what flavors I could get in my iced coffee and he suggested a latte and showed some flavors so I asked for the white chocolate. I waited for a good ten plus minutes after the person in front of me got her drink. My 16 oz latte was over $5 and I tipped 15%. I saw the lady making the drink verrryyy slowly and kept stopping to talk to her coworker. I went up to the purchase station saying I needed to leave (time limit) and they said it was coming up. Then I got handed a hot coffee. I said I ordered Iced. The lady said in a rude manner that she can make it iced. When she brought it back over it was in a much smaller cup and she said nothing while sitting it on the counter and then walked away. Probably will not come here again.
I have been going to Mishka's religiously for the past 4 years. The issue I have always had has been that the kids who work there sometimes make my order wrong--completely the wrong drink, or they won't make the modification I ask for. I have worked food service, so I understand and try to look past it especially as I am a staunch supporter of small local businesses. Unfortunately however, this has been happening more and more. I exclusively go in when it's quiet; today when I went there were maybe 20 people sitting and only one person in front of me. I ordered a matcha cold brew and did not ask for it to be unsweetened because I wouldn't expect there to be a default of sweetener in it--that doesn't make sense because additions to a drink, such as sugar, should be the modification. Unfortunately I drank half of the drink before I tasted the sweetener--I guess it had been added to the matcha, so it was more apparent at the bottom. I have fibromyalgia and I specifically am not supposed to ingest sugar or pretty much any sweetener (or dairy) at all as it inflames my organs and causes me nausea and pain. I was already at home by the time I realized there was sugar in my drink. i can't go back and ask for a refund because I need to stay home in case I end up throwing up/in too much pain. I'm now out more than seven bucks (I tipped generously) and I can't even drink half the drink I paid for. I'm done going to Mishka's because I just can't trust that they will make my drink correctly. I don't want to risk that they might use a dairy creamer or do something like this again. Normally the issue is minor (eg, they very often make a hot drink iced), but this is just too much at this point. Sugar should not be a default on a drink that, by name, should not be sweet (matcha and coffee are bitter by nature). At the very least, the person taking the order should ask if this is a common modification. The baristas should not be so inattentive. They really need to be trained better. I'm sad because I like supporting small independent businesses but I can't play fast and loose with my health like this.
This is honestly my least favorite cafe in the world. Imagine having a cafe in a college town with rules against not just laptops, but any form of studying. The quickly rotating cast of very young workers seems to absolutely hate it here, and if the tabletop signs reflect the owners’ personality at all I definitely don’t blame them. Food and drink are overpriced and mediocre. Air conditioning is all but nonexistent in the broiling summer. But I’ve still spent countless hours and dollars here because it’s practically the only independent coffee shop in Davis with any amount of seating. So I guess they can be as surly and mediocre as they well please.
Cold food, cold coffee, bad service, and overcrowded. I know that a lot of people like Mishka's, but the experience during my last visit was very frustrating. Half my order was forgotten, and my crumb cake was cold and hard. Even the ordering process was difficult, because the employee didn't know how to use the computer. I've been to Mishka's at least 100 times...and the quality has steadily gone down, until I finally got the the point where I have to give it a bad review. This is not the same Miskas as it was...
I went here to try something different in Davis and I was dissatisfied. I ordered a chai latte and it tasted like heated water and spices, my friend who ordered the same said it was the worst chai latte she'd ever had. I asked the barista about it and she was put out by my question and only added steamed milk to what was served. We ended up throwing them out. It's a shame because the venue is so nice and it does have a nice energy about it. I also ordered the pecan bar, that was excellent. I might try it again and get a coffee but I was a bit upset about the service. With all the great coffee places within 3 blocks I would not recommend Mishka's.

Dropped in to taste a couple of their signature drinks. Instead they gave me the "seasonal version" which replaced the expresso with tea. Not only was it not what I ordered the tea blend did not taste good. It was watered down and bland. If you're a coffee shop and I order coffee I expected coffee not whatever you think I should drink.
disappointed to know about how the owner treats employees! according to Mishka's website, Mishka's is a "friendly meeting place akin to the old European cafes" but I disagree. A friendly environment starts with treating your workers with basic respect, not sending them abusive messages. I'll make sure everyone knows to not go here unless the owner changes and apologizes for behavior.
The worst coffee I’ve ever had. Not only was the cup half foam, the desserts tasted old. I was so excited to try the cheesecake and was filled with disappointment as it tasted like it’s been there for days.
Not good. Slow service, waited a line time just to find out my drink had been done for a while because the girl making the drinks had a mask on and was just mumbling names. Ordered a maple latte which had no maple flavor. So went back to get it corrected and the just dumped a bunch of Costco maple syrup in it , instead of remaking it properly. The lemon loaf was dry and tasted like straight baking soda.
Being told to throw away my coffee cup (that I earlier purchased at Starbucks) if I wanted to stay was quite unexpected. This definitely did not represent the small friendly atmosphere that this place advertises. I was in line to purchase coffee and desert from here when it happened. My first time here, and I’m not going to be coming here again.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Ordered an iced Mexican mocha with an extra shot. Didn’t like it. Spent 8$ on it for it to Taste spicy and way to powdery, Not sure why but what really got me was the manager. I walked in asking if I could get another drink remade, manger said no. I asked for a refund manager said no. They tried to give me a discount to BUY another drink. Why would I want to buy another drink at a discount if I didn’t like the first 1. Anyways beware of manager, she was rude and not helpful. I also work at a coffee shop and this is not how we treat costumers, if they didn’t like their drink I would have gladly remade it.
Today, I watched a barista scrape some scum from the back counter and put it into a drink. . . I've been going to this coffee shop for over a decade, but I won't be coming back.
Would give this place 1 star. I wanted to support a small coffee shop and chose this place but the manager. So rude. I didn’t like my drink so I nicely asked if I could have it remade. She said no ok fine. I asked for a refund the manager said no. Umm ?? I have never been to a coffee shop where they refuse to remake a drink and refuse to give a refund. I spent almost 8$ on the drink. Ridiculous. Would not come back again. Worst coffee shop ever. !! Beware !!
Drinks are really not good here. The only good thing about this shop is the pastries, which like the drinks are overpriced. Workers here seem depressed and not super friendly, like they are lacking customer service skills. Would rather go to Starbucks for coffee honestly.
This place has decent coffee, but the customer service is like a competition in who can roll their eyes the hardest. Every time I order, I feel like I’m inconveniencing them just by existing. You don’t just get caffeine here..you get a side of attitude. Honestly, it’s kind of impressive how consistently rude they are. If you’re into paying good money to feel like a burden, this is your spot.
