Opiniones de The Hotdogger Davis
It like a little secret closet with fancy hot dogs. So good.
Amazing hot dogs! Such a cute little stand in Davis. Food came fast, staff was friendly and welcoming, spot to sit outside!
This place is ZEE DEAL!! So yummy to my tummy. Has lots of options, veggie, chicken, beef, pork hot dogs! Condiments and bread are super fresh, option of bacon on top! So good. The workers are super friendly as well
After all these years The Hotdogger has become an OG GIANT. After spending years in Davis I only get into town now a few times a year. Every time I do, I make sure to stop by and say Hi to the Owner and get one of the best dogs in the state! Ivan and his staff will dress it how you like it, and they just make you feel like home. It's really how a business should be run: fresh ingredients, a love for the game, and an environment that makes you feel like home. I know they do great catering, too, big and small because I saw him at a music festival not only dishing it, but dude was holding court, dancing and just building a good vibe. These are the people you want to support, especially in these times. The Hotdogger Rocks!
We just recently moved to Davis and have been looking forward to eating at this cute establishment, and it didn't disappoint. We both had the Bacon BBQ hot dog, shared an order of chili cheese fries and had lemonade. The owner greeted us in a friendly and welcoming manner and we asked for suggestions in placing our order, and he was very helpful. The hot dogs were cooked perfectly, the buns soft and the toppings, perfect! The chili cheese fries were outstanding! As new residents to this friendly and vibrant town, we plan on supporting local businesses and this will be a regular lunch spot!
Wow wow wow, so this is actually a photo from the food stand that The Hotdogger 🌭 features at Ruhstaller Farm on Fridays; this is what I look forward to every week! Ivan, Rain, and Gill are the best freaking people ever with amaaaaaazing service and their dogs are to DIE for. Ugh. Fresh hot links, sausages, vegan sausages, you name it! They even have a super fancy "dress up" station so you can make your hot dog as fancy as you want. The Hawaiian sauce is the bomb and is delectable. Definitely worth a stop if you're craving a juicy, delicious 🤤 hotdog and a bonus if you get to talk to these fantastic folks that run the show. Keep on rockin' it Ivan!
Great for a quick bite. Only seating is outside and limited but if you’re looking for a tasty on the go snack it’s great. Lots of creative choices. Includes veggie dogs.
Love this place. I live in Sacramento but try to hit this place up anytime I visit Davis.
Hole in the wall joint, with great hot dogs, buns and customer service. The hot dogs have a snap when bitten so you know they're quality dogs. The buns are delicious and do not fall apart when loaded with toppings. Potato salad is good but nothing spectacular. What I like most was after eating I didn't feel overly full and weighed down, the portions look hefty but are very tummy manageable 😁 Customer service makes you feel welcomed, I'm very indecisive and take forever to order sometimes but the man helping my husband and I was very patient. So happy to have found an awesome hot dog joint! We'll definitely be heading back in the near future 👍🏼👍🏼
Nice quaint hot dog shop. I have been going for almost a decade. I would recommend something, but I like all their specialty dogs. The chili wedges are good, too!
This is such a great place to visit for a quick lunch! The service was wonderful, and the food was out pretty quickly. The place is a bit small, but it's filled to the brim with personality and it's got great outdoor seating. I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're looking for a quick but filling meal
I've been to The Hotdogger in Davis, CA a few times. What keeps me coming back is it's a just simple weiner. Like going to the ballpark without the price tag of a professional league ticket. This time I tried the Bacon BBQ Dog and it was delicious with great customer service. I'll be back...
Great meat rockets, guys are very welcoming!
Love the hot dog varieties and options here! Any type of dog you want, they got em! The veggie dog is good, and the mustard selection is top tier.
VERY good food and lovely staff
Because of this place I now eat at least one hot dog a month and it is always a treat. Before discovering this place I ate at most one hotdog a year, usually on July 4th, just to maintain my beloved American citizenship. The staff is super nice as well. It is pleasant to sit at their outdoor tables on occasion and eat a hotdog and drink a Coke. This is your right and duty as an American. :)
Our server Jeremiah was fantastic. Whatever he gets paid needs to be more. Store is run by one person being a superstar. He was super nice and accommodating to my special modifications on my dogggggg. The dogs we ordered were more than what we expected from a hot dog. 👍 the price is worth the fancy hot dog. The fresh lemonade was fantastic, I would go back just for this drink. There is limited seating outside and the ordering station is very small. The store itself can hold 1-3 customers before feeling cramped and overcrowded.
What a pleasure to eat here. Ivan was a treat to speak with and he made my friends and I feel incredibly welcome in our first visit! The hotdogs were perfect to order and they have such a variety that you'll be coming back to try new flavors of mustard.
Had a great beef dog here with a good conversation with the employee. I highly recommend the jalapeno mustard
I had the Gut Bomb hot dog with potato salad and my friend had a Chicago Dog. The owner was rly friendly/nice and the food was tasty!! My hot dog was kinda hard to eat with just my hands but I was given utensils so it's all good. Keep in mind that the place is really small so seating is outdoors. I'd definitely stop by again if I was in the area! :D Thank you for the great experience.
Delicious food, affordable, and friendly owners and staff. The best hotdogs around! Highly recommend.
Top notch friendly service and easy parking in front for take out orders. Last week they were surprisingly using heirloom tomatoes. This is the #1 hot dog shop in Davis.

The Hot Dogger is such a Davis gem! This place has been around forever, and for good reason — the hot dogs are amazing. Perfectly grilled, juicy, and served on fresh buns with so many creative topping options to choose from. You can go classic or load it up with all kinds of delicious combos — either way, it always hits the spot. The vibe is super fun and laid-back, with that local Davis charm. Whether you’re stopping by after walking around downtown or grabbing a bite before heading home, it’s the perfect casual stop. The staff is always friendly and quick, and the prices are great for the quality and portion size. It’s simple food done right — fresh, flavorful, and made with care. If you’re in Davis and craving a hot dog that’s way better than your average, The Hot Dogger is a must! A local classic that never disappoints.
Just enjoyed a fantastic pair of wieners at their pop-up at Jack Rabbit Brewing! Ivan’s customer service was top-notch. Highly recommend! Gregory & Delmy
The prices are good. Its hard not to order a lot because I really like their food here. Their staff is also super nice and friendly
Delicious food and amazing staff. Every time I've gone, the workers have been extremely kind
Had a bratwurst and a soda on a sunny afternoon. I sat outside and enjoyed my meal. The food is good, the guy at the counter was busy and very cool. Outside was a little busy with people walking by, inside had two stools and a bit small but quaint. Good place to visit again!
A Davis institution! The staff is so nice and friendly. We met them at Celebrate Davis and the food was amazing. We had a hot dog, an Arnold Palmer and a chicken apple sausage. All delicious. Steamed buns are a nice touch.
I will def be coming back. I loved the old school hot dog shop feel of this place. I ordered a polish dog and a Thai dog. Both of which were stellar. I love the fact that they have Russian mustard. Seems like that's a rarity, so it was a pleasant surprise. The chili cheese fries were delish. If you do not like wedge fries, you might not like these. If you do, these are highly recommended. The cheese, tomato, and onion they put on top make it so good.
Gilberto had excellent customer service, and make some amazing hot dogs.
The "fine print"... this is a one-guy walk-in 'shack' operation; no in-door seating with a few sidewalk tables. But it's exactly what I was wanting on my quest for a descent dog. The marquee says it all... "It's your weiner, do what you want with it." PS... the chilli 'fries' were outstanding. I'd go back for just that ... a 1,906 mile trip for me ;o)

The food tastes delicious and this 1 person run shop is quite small. Very friendly and there was a bit of a wait, but there is only 1 person making everything so it was expected and worth the wait. The fresh homemade lemonade was by far the best I've had in a long while. There are a few tables and chairs setup outside to eat, but this is a grab and go kind of place. Either option is great for here and the fries were delicious!
It was good! Not the best hotdog I've ever had but totally decent. The potato salad was also really good.
Great place, great staff, really enjoyed my meal but was surprised at the frank in the order. Not great but acceptable. Will be trying a veggie dog or hotlink next time.
Hot dogs are hot dogs, but this place has some pretty good ones. I got mine with sauerkraut, brown mustard, and ketchup, and it was about as good as a hot dog can get. The fries, however, were mouth-searingly hot while somehow still kind of undercooked in the middle. The guy behind the counter was super nice.
Dogs are epic. Potato and macaroni salads and fries options are strong. Only took a star off because the guy who owns it has all the customer service skills of a NYC street vendor... Very authentic. That said I'm not there for pleasant conversation, I'm there for the dogs.
Nice staff, good food. There's only so much you can do to a hotdog to make it yummy, but they do about as good as you can. Potato salad is solid, too. Fries are below average (need to be cooked longer IMO).
Solid hot dogs with lots of toppings, including a ton of mustard options. A bit pricey at $8-10. I'd go easy on the toppings, especially with the regular hot dog, or you won't be able to taste the meat.
The Hot Dogger brick n mortar is in the college town of Davis, CA, right in downtown. An estimated 150 square feet of compact coziness where they serve up seven varieties of dogs including an all beef dog, vegan soy, and the award winning spicy mango chicken sausage. The menu also includes wedge fries, chili, potato salad, potato macaroni salad, and homemade lemonade. The dogs and sausages have a natural casing, giving them a satisfying snap. Quality. Steamed and served on fresh baked buns from the local bakery down the street. The folks that work here are down right awesome. Yes, over the many years (~30 years)that I have been a customer, various staff have come n gone. But all having a welcoming personable attitude. Just the hotdogger way. There is no seating indoors, only outdoor. There are tables, outside on the sidewalk, under big beautiful trees that give off ample shade in the summer. Great place to sit, enjoy the food, and soak in the Davis college town's downtown vibes.

I did not think it was good or at all worth $8. But I'm not super into hotdogs, so I don't want to tell people who are what to like. But if you're like me and are assuming these must be really amazing hotdogs to have to much hype and be so expensive, you probably won't find that to be the case.
I had the Chicago dog and it was a little disappointing. We paid ~9$ for a mediocre hot dog. I would recommend going to some place else for a hot dog.
The hotdogs were mediocre. The chili cheese wedges were ok. Chili tasted as if it were from a can. The service was great! The man was very friendly and brought our food out to us. The napkins were stocked but the tables located on the side walk made you feel as if you were in the way.
To much bun & not enough Dog , fries were delicious. The out door seating & people watching 👀 is what made up for the lack of Dog in the Thai dog 🐕

They make a really good chili dog. It’s a really small spot with outdoor seating. The people are very friendly. The hours were extended recently. The prices are so steep though! I’d come back a lot more if they could get the prices down. It feels like a lot for what you get which is admittedly very good. I always get the fries which are wedge cut with a great seasoning and ranch.

These are not great hotdogs. We went because they were on TV. Costco hotdogs are better. Very dirty little hole in the wall place.
The hotdogs are ok. I'd rather get a $1.50 hotdog at Costco. If I'm going to spend $10+ on a meal, it's not going to be a mid hotdog. The "chef" is a little rude, with a look that makes it very apparent that you have inconvenienced him by ordering a hot dog. The place is pretty filthy, and the "chef" just handles your food with unwashed hands. I will say that I was not served by the legendary Jeremiah; maybe the experience is completely different when the hot dog master himself is at work.

While visiting my daughter in Davis, we decided to stop by this spot to try a hot dog. The person assisting us was friendly, which we appreciated. However, this review is focused on cleanliness — or rather, the lack of it during our visit. When we walked in, the staff member was cutting bread without gloves. I gave the benefit of the doubt, assuming he had washed his hands beforehand. But as he took our order, I noticed him run his hands through his hair and touch his face. I still hoped he would wash his hands before preparing our food — unfortunately, he didn’t. After touching his hair, face, and the pen used to write down our order, he immediately went back to handling the bread and assembling our food. This was concerning and honestly, quite off-putting. In any food service setting, hygiene should be a top priority. Being mindful of how easily germs spread is essential. While the food may be good, cleanliness is just as important — and in this case, it was seriously lacking.
