Opiniones de Panniken Encinitas
I was here for the first time and I'm definitely coming back. The atmosphere, the space, the smell of delicious baked goods it all creates a wonderful mood!
Even if you don't buy anything the place alone is a great time. The coffee is full to the top of the to go cup, no frills or anything just straight strong coffee. Real good stuff too. Plenty of seating across different levels, top floor, ground floor and basement level. All give you different ambiances. On a Monday afternoon this place wasn't over packed but I don't imagine it ever is with people coming and going after coffee. I didn't see too many places to plug in computer by the way. And I didn't detect wifi. That being said, it's nice to sit around and take in the day. It slows everything down and if nothing about the location catches your eye, the fact that this coffee shop repurposed a train station will. Great place to stop by.
Really cool, old-school coffee shop with tons of character. The interior is warm and nostalgic, with walls lined with jars of loose-leaf tea, vintage displays, local gifts, and even free stickers at the counter which is a nice touch. Their tea selection is impressive, and the coffee itself is genuinely good. That said, service was noticeably slow, and the staff wasn’t as welcoming as you’d typically expect from a neighborhood coffee spot with this kind of charm. The atmosphere and product quality are there, but the customer service could definitely match the vibe a bit more. Overall, still a solid stop if you appreciate character and quality drinks, just don’t expect fast or overly friendly service.
Recently tried this unique coffee spot after living in the area for years and we were pleasantly surprised! Our group ordered an assortment of baked goods from these huge muffins, cookies, pastries and even this savory cheese bread and they were all amazing! The baked good section is a little chaotic but it fits well with the “old timey” charm of the place. Very cool place to come enjoy a fair priced, eclectic, coffee shop in Encinitas. We’ll take this spot over a commercial coffee joint any day. Come for the vibes, stay for their incredible cheese bread bacon thing!
Good coffee! Friendly ladies working too. So much seating! Both indoors and out. It’s airy but definitely not air conditioned, so be prepared. The garden salad was fine. Nothing exceptional but par for a coffee shop. The lattes were excellent, definitely the highlight. They have a super cute gift shop too!
Really Cool Coffee Shop with Delicious Coffee and yummy baked goods (baked fresh on premises daily). Good breakfast/lunch options as well. Love the outside large patio—great for hanging out, studying, meeting, people watching. Dog friendly. Limited parking though..a few spots on street in front and a tight, small parking lot in back. Great Spot though with a small gift shop as well. Be warned—lots of steps to the Restrooms👇
Cool coffee shop built into a historic train station. There is a large indoor and outdoor seating for hanging out (no wifi if you are trying to work). Coffee and food that we had was good...decent amount of food options beyond just pastries. Service was friendly...though took some time with how busy it was. There was a pretty consistent line out the door through the whole time we were there on a Saturday morning. Cool spot...would definitely go back.
Great place for an awesome breakfast. Enjoyed a scooped wheat bagel with egg and cheese, bagel with lox and cream cheese as well as a delicious pumpkin muffin. The hot cafe latte was perfect! The selection of delicious pastries and friendly staff made it a first time very pleasant experience! Definitely recommend and would love to return.
This place is so cute. There are a lot of different areas to sit in both inside and outside. I love the big chairs that sit under the tree. The coffee is really good and not bitter. We had a very delicious croissant. We also had a bagel sandwich that was super good. The star of the show is the coffee.
Charming decor and a good place to meet for friends coming from different directions. Unfortunately their gluten free items contain other common allergens like dairy, but their Mexican hot chocolate made with alternative milk was delicious. We took our drinks outside ourselves so can't really rate the "service".
For a basic cup of coffee without refill $4, quite expensive though good taste. The eggs nothing special, flavor too basic, and small portion. Essentially your paying for the outside atmosphere that's okay
Upon entering Pannikin Coffee & Tea, you begin to appreciate the ample space. Indoor, they supply many tables and chairs, but outside they provide even more seating, in order to take advantage of the lovely Encinitas weather. The service quickly provided bold cups of coffee. To flavor the ambience, Spanish music played in the background. In addition to Spanish music, there were two birds inside chirping, which sounded nice. The walls were decorated with the art from local artists. Their community board appears to be updated. Pannikin seems to be pet friendly, as seen by a few dogs on leash. However, the staff failed to recognize my wife when she stood in line for a refill. According to my wife, the staff made eye contact and ignored her 😕.
First time there, not sure I'll be back as there are many other great coffee places in the area. We had a bad experience and the inside was very dirty and had bird poop inside. Outside looks nice but the inside was dingy. We came in there were around 7 people in line including myself and 5+ people behind the counter. The girl taking our order was very rude and did not want to help us based on her attitude. There were two people in front of us checking out with someone else, standing in front of a very small and messily written flavor list. We asked if they had flavors and she just scoffed and pointed at the sign. When I couldn't see it (because people were standing in front of it) and asked if she could tell me the flavors they had she just pointed at it again. At this point I was already not wanting to put up with this girl and her lack of customer service. I asked if they could add a flavoring to a macchiato, I know that traditional macchiatos are typically espresso with an ounce of milk, I personally like to add a little flavored syrup to mine which isn't hard to do and if I'm paying for it who cares. Right off the bat she had an ugly attitude and said this isn't Starbucks in a very rude way I just said ok, what would you recommend with a salted caramel flavor? no answer. The desserts and scones were not labeled so God forbid I had to ask what the muffins were. I just chose something random and it was really good but I also ordered a scone which was nothing special and I told her the jalapeno cheese one and she was very condescending "you mean a scone 🙄." My latte that I ended up getting was not good at all I couldn't even finish it. I go to a new coffee shop every weekend for January and February when I'm done I don't think I'll be back to this one.
Nice atmosphere, cheery yellow paint everywhere and a cute gift shop. Horrible parking situation though, prepare to drive around for a bit, even on a weekday. Good pastries, but the coffee is expensive. Paid nearly $30 for 3 items, an almond croissant, a flavored latte, and a breakfast bagel. May be reasonable to some but I wouldn't recommend it as budget friendly or a good deal. Have come here multiple times and have never been impressed with the service either.
Located right on PCH 101, this café seems to rely heavily on its location rather than the quality of its service or products. That was the impression I got. My cappuccino was worse than gas-station coffee. They didn’t even offer to warm up the chocolate croissant, and it was inedible: dry and tough. The service was unpleasant, and both the tables and interior were very dirty. Birds were constantly flying inside, which I wouldn’t normally mind—until I looked up and saw bird droppings and feathers on the ceiling. Once was enough. Shame.
Terrible experience. There is no customer service, the staff just has a straight face with no greeting whatsoever. I ordered a breakfast bagel, and waited almost 30 minutes. I went to check in the staff and just saw all standing around doing nothing. And finally when it came out, the bagel was the plain one but I ordered the everything. I added bacon which cost $3 but what they put in is bacon bits! So overrated and overpriced!
This coffee shop has turned around forever, but this is my first time visiting, and I will tell you my thoughts. 1. Really cute location, plenty of seating and warm and cozy atmosphere 2. Coffee was good 3. Pastry was disappointing. I ordered the almond croissant and was told it had almond paste in it. It was very dry and not much taste. overall, it’s very cute location. Coffee is decent. I can’t say much about the food other than the croissant that I ordered which I was not pleased and threw most of it away.
Really tried liking this place but I’ve never been impressed, especially with how much you’re paying. Ordered a breakfast sandwich and asked them to add on bacon (extra $3). Paid $8 for a matcha latte that literally tasted like 90% water. Got my breakfast sandwich and turns out their $3 bacon comes from a bag of bacon bits. $3 for bacon bits is crazy. Not to mention the not so friendly staff this time around. This place is cute but I am consistently disappointed every time.
