When I was a kid I use to come here often. I moved back to the neighborhood 10 yrs later and they are still amazing. Always love to bring big groups to support them. They have an amazing variety of ice cream and always coming up with new things. 100% recommend.

Love their ice cream! I have been going here for 15 years and they still surprise me with their awesome flavors. You can get anything from classic mint chip to ketcup or teriyaki flavors! It’s a really cute ice cream shop and have the craziest decor! It’s definitely worth going just to experience this place!

Wow! The atmosphere here is so dope, different, and inviting. The staff is so kind and helpful and enthusiastic, allowing and even urging you to try different flavors until you find your (or one of) your favorite(s).There are so many unique flavors that are rotated frequently, you’re sure to find an amazing new favorite! The serving is very generous, like enough to be a meal replacement lol. Highly highly recommend!

Awesome flavors you can't find anywhere else. What's great is that you can try two flavors per order starting with the small size cup. The Krispy Kreme and glazed chocolate donut flavors were amazing. The kids loved the cotton candy flavor. I want to go back and try the other flavors.

First of all, amazing ambiance, decor and music. Owner is super friendly, nice, and generous. We tried so many flavors I was almost full before even ordering! The best ice cream I have ever had (and I am not just saying this). I have boasted and bragged about this place to multiple people in my neighborhood -- All of which have tried the ice cream here and could not stop ranting and raving. The prices are a bit on the high side but I cannot stress this enough... QUALITY OVER QUANTITY. By far worth every single penny, even if they raised their prices i'd keep on coming. My personal favorite is the cap n' crunch cookies n' cream and as of recently, fruity pebbles has stolen my heart . . when these two are combined it's like no other flavor! A MUST TRY. The owner is extremely friendly and always emphasizes that you should sample as much as you want. They also have unusual flavors like wasabi - interesting and uncommon. Usually open until 6:30PM with the exception of Saturdays.

Found Max & Mina's from a Google search for ice cream in the area when visiting family, and also Instagram. So happy we got the chance to try, and have been back already within the week. They have the best flavor choices, and always taste fresh. The staff s patient and let's you try whatever you want to make your decision. Will definitely keep coming back!

My son had a basketball tournament at Queens College and I wanted to stop at a local bakery or ice cream shop before heading on the road. This place did not disappoint. We were given tons of samples to try and the owners were super nice. Highly recommend! 👍🏼

They have amazing flavors. The flavors I have tried and enjoyed them all 😋😋 pumpkin praline caramel, tates cookies, cookies and cream, nutty pistachio, pumpkin, cotton candy plus many more unusual flavors. the flavors are always changing. It's a bit pricy but worth it. $5.50 a scoop, $9 for 2 scoops,$10 a pint, there's another container for $20. Original heard about them on the travel channel a few years ago

After a few visits I can safety say that this is some of the best ice cream around. They have wacky flavors that change every day and flavors that appear every day. The staff is friendly and at the time of posting (6/19/2017) a single scoop is $4.63 with tax, which grants you two flavors. My personal favorite is "Cookie Monster" (Blue colored ice cream with cookies) which is followed by "Spongebob" (Yellow colored ice cream with cake and sprinkles in it). The store itself has cool beach lounge chairs and the walls and ceiling are decorated with cereal boxes and vintage photos Note: Hours are sometimes off, I usually call in to confirm they are open

This is a staple for anyone in the area and wanting a sweet treat that really hits the spot. With really cool flavors, an entrancing display of background art and super friendly service ( not to mention the free samples are a must ) this is one for the books for all you ice-cream lovers out there!! This ice cream shop is great cause it’s different. It’s not your topical I cream shop. The ice cream are to die for. Because of course what good is it to be different if the ice cream is not good.

Love the different and unique flavors in this shop. Today was my first time here and I had the Almond Bar. It was absolutely delicious. My daughters had the Ferrero Rocher Caramel and it too was good. Definitely recommend this spot for something creative. Will definitely be returning!

Max & Mina's is Absolutely one of the coolest places to stop by for a sweet treat! I had an awesome 1st time experience Sunday evening. I was introduced to this place by my sister. She said she seen it on TikTok. I had no prior knowledge of this establishment. I couldn't believe my eyes when I walked in. I felt like such a big a kid! The walls are decorated with some of your favorite childhood characters on the cover of cereal boxes 😍 Such a fun and appealing touch as it celebrates childhood favorites. There is No slacking on customer service and quality. The kind gentlemen that assisted us; provided tasty samples of the ice cream of our choice. Which shows they are confident in their creations and want you to get exactly what you want. The ice cream taste fresh and rich. The samples really make the experience even sweeter. Some of the combinations are interestingly unique and flavorful. We ended up leaving with a few pints (just to hold the family over lol) Cookie monster & Fruity pebbles, Captain crunch cookies & cream, and PB coffee cake crumble. Though I LOVE Ben & Jerry's Coffee, Coffee Buzz Buzz; I will most certainly be visiting Max & Mina's Ice Cream shop again! Thanks to my sister they are my new Fav and a must-try for anyone who loves or interested in unique ice cream flavors! And No matter your age, I'm sure anyone would appreciate the fun and nostalgic touch of the cereal-themed decorations as it really adds to the vibe of the place even if you're not an ice cream lover!

What a great find! I liked the atmosphere in the shop. The icecream flavours are very interesting and there is a very wide variety. If you have thought of a flavour they most probably have it. (I even taste an icecream with crisps in it)

It is a well decorated family owned ice cream shop. Their portions are generous even if you ask for kiddie size scoop. Their icecream is homemade and delicious. They have a variety of flavors with catchy names. The kids loved visiting and they enjoyed their cones.

We almost didnt go in because there was a sign that said frozen yogurt in the window and we were looking for ice cream. Something unique and not carvel or baskin robins. Good thing we went in anyway. On a HHH August day, we found Max & Mina's Ice Cream. We shared a dish of Coffee/Chunky Ice Cream. The delicious coffee ice cream was loaded with chunks of rough-broken Chunky candy bars and the balance was superb. We had to eat it fast because it started melting the moment we walked out of the door. We were glad that they gave a good amount of napkins. Recommended!

I came here once years ago, and I kept wanting to come back. On this hot October day, I drove down Main St. to Max and Mina’s. It’s easier to get there since I live in Flushing now. Anyways, I got the coffee Oreo and apple brownie Cinnabon. The ice cream is made in house, flavors are unique... and of course, so yummy! The owner was super friendly and easy to talk to. He was also generous with the samples. I’ll definitely be back to this cozy and quirky spot when I crave ice cream.

Wowser! Lived up to the hype. Dynamite 💥 Lots of unique flavors. Every sample we tried was outstanding. Went with a scoop of Captain Crunch Cookies and Cream. Made me so happy. Savored every spoonful. My wife got the Chocolate Captain Crunch Cake ice cream and was in ecstasy eating it. To top it all off, the guys behind the counter were real welcoming and friendly. Not a sprinkle of pretension. Clearly just proud of what they’re turning out and trying to bring a little more joy into the world. Nothing wrong with that. Wow…. What in the heck. Every single ice cream flavor I tried was BOMB. I stood there thinking for so long because I could not choose one. So I settled with getting 4 different scoops of icecream. I LOVE Max and Mina’s Ice Cream! It’s sometimes hard to admit to myself, let alone others, but I have always had a sweet tooth. I love chocolates and cookies, but every once in a while, I start to have a craving for ice cream. Not a regular flavor like mint chocolate chip or strawberry, but one that only Max and Mina’s could make: Cookie Monster! I know, the name sounds crazy, and you might not even believe me that it’s a real flavor, but you have to go and try it for yourself. Max and Mina’s is always one of my favorite dessert places in the greater Queens area to go to. The inside gives off a nostalgic vibe with all sorts of pictures and cereal boxes on the wall, which are always cool to look at. In addition to this, the staff is always really nice, and when you pay for one scoop, you usually get two or three, unlike other ice cream stores like Carvel. Since there are so many cool flavors, such as Cookie Monster or SpongeBob, it is very hard to decide which flavor you want, but they are very good at letting you sample practically as many flavors as you’d like! Even if just once, I highly recommend trying this store out because I’m sure you’ll be back wanting more.

Walking thru OysterBay after dinner tonight and something caught our eyes. Max and Mina's so we stopped in and we were blown away. The staff was amazing and the flavors are even better... But as an older couple, the WOW factor was the decor. It felt like I was transported to memories of our childhood of the 60s & 70s and then some. Was incredibly lucky to meet and chat with Bruce and share some stories about Bryce Canyon and my experience wrapping. We were in the right place at the right time and got to meet Michael Albert. An amazing person and very talented artist who was so generous with his time and work. The place is like the most fun memories and ice cream that is as unique as the people that deliver smiles one scoop at a time.

This is an absolutely legendary establishment, an establishment for the ages, with all sorts of cereal boxes and souvenirs decorating the walls, and ice cream tubs filled with unusual delights. The lox is famous, but they also have Cheez-It churro, Toblerone, and yes, a bevy of cereal flavors. So much to love. If every ice cream place was this inventive, we ice cream fans would be in real trouble.

The shop is very cute and nostalgic!! The staff is so friendly and very helpful my sister and I couldn’t decide on what flavors we wanted and they allowed us to try several different flavors and they didn’t rush us. Every flavored we tried was delicious but we both got a scoop of Cookie Monster I mixed mine with peanut butter pudding and she mixed her Cookie Monster with cotton candy and we were both satisfied with our flavors.

Off the entry, this place is so cool and nostalgic. You get to see so many different cereal box clippings that you take the first 5 minutes just looking around. Then you are overwhelmed by all the flavors they have, but luckily, the kid there gives generous samples, so you know exactly what you want. I got the captain crunch cookies and cream with the SpongeBob (which is like a super cake batter). I immediately wrote in a group chat to my friends it was a must try ice cream shop. Highly recommend if you are an ice cream fanstic

If you have trouble choosing, they allow you to try unlimited samples . My favorite is cookie monster, Cap n crunch and fresh brewed coffee. My husband ordered banana pudding and Ferrero rocher caramel. Prices are reasonable. Parking outside the shop on the one way st. It can get busy but line moves quickly!! Definitely will be back!

This small ice cream shop right on Main St is like stepping into a time capsule. From the music to all of the old time classics, it's amazing. The owner is so nice and he's very charismatic. You can tell he loves working there and meeting all sorts of people. The ice cream is also the best!! They make everything in house. They fuse your favorite flavors with your favorite cereal and even chocolate! (My go to was the Ferro Rocher caramel ice cream) if you're in the area I highly recommend this place. It's such an absolutely great experience. You're bound to have so much fun.

Very innovative and delicious ice cream with great texture, It felt like it was Ben& Jerry's pro version. Very strongly recommend. Easily top 3 of 60 in NYC for me. 30+ flavor options, including new ones every week. They allow sampling, have good portions and prices ($6.5 for 2 scoops) but don't have seating inside. Cash has a 4% discount. It doesn't look very fancy from the outside and the ambience is not of a fancy Italian gelato/French ice cream shop or something, with cereal boxes from the '80s onwards adorning the walls. Our favorite flavors were the strawberry champagne, SpongeBob (yellow cake, ice cream with sprinkles and other mix-ins), chocolate brownie fudge, croissant walnut berry fig fudge and the brownie cheesecake.

Max & Mina’s has been on my bucket list for years since their business hours vary and they don’t match with our daily schedule. We read an article about the world’s top 50 ice cream and they were #21. We were motivated by the great ranking and made up our mind to visit in the shortest time. They open at 8:30pm (Yes it’s pm and you didn’t read it wrong.) on Saturday so we had an early dinner and visited right after dinner. We arrived at around 8:30pm and there was a line already. The decor is colorful and artsy with cereal box cutouts on the wall. The owners are super welcoming and friendly. There is a great variety of flavors on their menu and we had a difficult time to decide. One of the greatest things is customers can have combined flavors in one scoop. We had their signature Spongebob and Peanut Butter cookie Mess. It was delicious, amazingly creamy and rich. It is definitely underrated and everyone needs to come try it.

We were craving ice cream on a Saturday night at midnight and all and behold came across this hidden gem ... The time we walked into this store, it was as if our childhood side came alive and felt like we were entering a whole new world of fun, colorful inspiring nostalgic pictures everywhere you look around the store :) When it came to picking the ice cream, it was no easy task. Overpriced and extremely mediocre. Asked if they had smaller sizes and the owners reply was that he could give me less (for the same price). Small was $8. Hagaan daz and van Leuwens has higher quality ice cream for less.
