Family-run restaurant, a typical trattoria, where we ate very well. I was with friends and we ordered menus. The selection of dishes was good and the food was excellent. Everyone was satisfied 😊 The staff is kind and attentive. We will definitely be back.

The food is excellent, as are the wines, with a good selection. The homemade tagliolini are so good they reminded me of my grandmother's. The service is excellent and the quality is excellent.

A wonderful place with a touch of yesteryear. Excellent cuisine with attention to detail and top-quality ingredients. The onion soup is unimaginable. The menu is structured, coherent, and offers just the right amount of options to savor the flavors of the region. The attention to detail in the plating speaks of passion and dedication.

This is my third time at this delicious restaurant. I recommend it because the staff is always very friendly and attentive, the food is always prepared with seasonal vegetables, and the presentation is second to none. It certainly doesn't need a review from me, but if you're passing through Altavilla, lunch at Mister Barbera is a must. I recommend making a reservation because it seats a limited number of people, the atmosphere is cozy but small, and it's perhaps the only reason I gave it 4 stars because the acoustics are a downside. Everything else is top notch!

I'm in love with this traditional restaurant. The food was exceptionally good as is the wines and spirits. The hosts make you feel welcome. I loved the fact that the hosts struggled with English as much as we did with Italian. Ristorante Mister Barbera is well worth a visit.

What a great little restaurant in the heart of Monferrato! We had a quick lunch on a quiet Sunday afternoon, such a delightful experience. The ladies serving us were all lovely, the food delicious and hearty, with options outside the traditional cuisine. The pavlova with peaches: to die for! We’ll be back :)

The name says it all: Mr. Barbera is a place that doesn't hide its roots. In Altavilla, it's a genuine trattoria that gets straight to the point! The cuisine is rigorously Piedmontese, the kind you'd expect in Monferrato. Traditional dishes, distinct flavors, and ingredients that taste of the region. There's no room for half measures or risky "reinterpretations." The place is small and intimate, which is a good thing: it signifies attention and care. Perfect for an honest and hearty dinner, perhaps with a good glass of Barbera to accompany it, of course. Prices are fair for the quality offered. A reliable classic for a €15 lunch menu with a first course, second course, side dish, water or wine, coffee, and dessert for €20. I'd recommend this place to anyone 👍

A tiny, cozy restaurant with very few seats, making reservations highly recommended. The menu is limited (a few appetizers, two first courses, and two second courses), and the dishes are traditional local dishes revisited with creative twists. They're high-quality and carefully prepared. The staff is friendly (the owner provided us with helpful local information), and the bill is reasonable.

Nice “NiceHome Milano” Home

Excellent food, a quaint and charming place, but service was a bit slow since there was only one person in the dining room. The cold was a major inconvenience: the dining room isn't large (25 people), but there was no heating, just a small fan coil unit that wasn't suitable for a room that size. We ate in our jackets, with freezing hands and feet... too bad!

No compromise, all authentic, genuine, original, as once upon a time with a few homemade, simple, natural ingredients from families with vegetable gardens and fields, they gave life to fragrant, tasty dishes and despite being poor and scarce they filled you up in a healthy way, a tradition still alive in very few taverns and restaurants, and when you find them it is a leap to the heart
