So the Friday menu is spectacular. You can get a great steak which is juicy and well seasoned that doesnt need extra seasoning( I prefer medium well). Since I have come to this town the owner and staff have been accommodating and the food has been delicious. I always get an order to go do I can enjoy the cuisine the next day.

Was in the Goleta area for a family getaway and we got takeout for breakfast and dinner from Home Plate Grill. In both cases our order was ready on time and the staff was friendly. For breakfast we had pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, and biscuits and gravy. The pancakes were the star of the show as it tasted like that added a dash of cinnamon to them. For dinner one night we got their pizza. I was surprised because it was a really good NY style thin crust pizza. When we are back in the area again, we will definitely order from Home Plate Grill again.

Ready for a great breakfast? You’re in for a treat. The chilaquiles are the best I’ve ever had! They know what eggs over medium means, generous portions. Good coffee and fantastic prices! All their salsas and sauces are wonderful!

Home Plate Grill has well cooked food, indoor and outdoor seats, and good service overall. Biggest thing is to use the condiments on the table (salt/pepper/sugar) to adjust. If I were to come back, I'd order the "Chicken Fried Pork Chop" and the "French Toast Sammy", both of those could hold on their own without extra seasoning.

I attended an event on the patio designed to facilitate communication between the neighborhood and the new City Council member, Jennifer Smith. Between speakers and Q&A, I poked my head in to see the menu and observe the hardworking staff. This place clearly serves as a hub for those in the surrounding neighborhoods. I so admire that they provided a space for traffic engineers, planners, cops, and politicians to engage with the public. It was fun to watch staff members darting through the crowd to deliver delicious-looking plates to customers in the tavern a few doors down. I greatly enjoyed a few cups of coffee and chatting with officials and residents of this great community. Thank you, Home Plate for serving up some delicious democracy on a Saturday morning. My family will be by soon to dine with you.

This place is great! It's the epitome of a diner/greasy spoon. It has a huge menu for both breakfast and lunch. The sandwich list is extensive and the breakfast options are unique. All of the food is created in the kitchen that's not very big but it pumps out the food in an efficient manner. Inside is very basic four booths , some tables and there's some outside seating as well. It's clean and well organized and the owner is friendly. Easy parking and very reasonable pricing. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was good, the meat was a little sparse. I took one half of the sandwich and loaded the insides onto the other half and it was quite a filling meal. We will definitely return and I'm looking forward to trying their Reuben sandwich.

Great place for a quick bite or a full on Dinner. Jasmine was very courteous and helpful. Food is very well served, tastes great. We will be back for sure. Kudos to the owner for having a great place with wonderful people. They made us feel like family, the good family, lol

We absolutely love Home Plate Grill. There are few other restaurants that feel more authentic to Goleta. From their appetizers to pizzas to burgers, this is casual comfort food for every appetite and family. They also now have a newly remodeled front patio to dine. We are regulars here for a reason.

Was in Santa Barbara for the weekend with my family. Thankfully this place was open during the pandemic and was able to serve my huge family of ten takeout. Everything was great. They got the whole food order correct. The owner was so hospitable. The food tasted delicious. I got the Philly Skillet! I was everything I hoped it to be in regards to philly in the morning. I wish I had done hot sauce. I forgot to ask but I ate it all up. I definitely recommend Home Plate Grill. Thank you!

What a great find after a baseball game at UCSB. We ordered a couple of the pizzas which were both good (BBQ Chicken, Tomato Basil). We also had a Tri Tip sandwich with jalapeños & another person in our group had the bacon cheeseburger. The service was good & it had a local diner type vibe.

I loved the large menu- lot of great options and felt very homey vibes. Our server Davin was great. I got the omelette and it was very good & filling- definitely a large portion and we were hungry so it was perfect

Home Plate Grill was an inalienable part of my Santa Barbara memories. I used to live next door on Calle Real (across the wall) when I went to UCSB. Home Plate Grill was my go-to for breakfast or brunch. It was the saddest news that they are closing at the end of March.
