This is what you need on an overcast day. The broth was excellent as far as restaurant broths go. I got the P4 - rare steak and beef meatballs (with tiny chewy tendons in the meatballs). This is authentic, not watered down pho, served the proper garnishes (Thai basil and bean sprouts). It’s a light soup, despite the beef and the smaller portion was more than enough for me. Does the broth have msg? Probably, but you have to realize that a dash of msg in a giant vat of broth is different than msg sprinkled into every dish at a Chinese restaurant. I’m sensitive to msg but didn’t get a headache here. The service was super fast and my pho came out within 5 minutes of arrival. Is the staff super friendly? Not really, but they’re not rude. My people have been through A LOT. 😅 The restaurant was very clean and the pho was top notch!
the owner is very friendly, i’ve been coming here while in school it’s always good vibes and good food!! i always recommend this place for good viet food. i love phamous cafe <<33
Phabulous place to eat, pho sho! Got to give props to the owner for going all in on the wordplay associated with the name of the signature dish. The Pho itself was cooked in an excellent broth, with an authentic taste and relatively decent prices. My only gripe would be that the amount of pho noodle in the regular size bowl is a bit stingy and nowhere near enough if you're more than a little hungry.
We discovered this hidden gem 3 years ago when we were looking for a quick Asian lunch after going to Costco. This is the first time after the pandemic that we have been back. They have good safety protocol. The lunch was quickly served and the price was inexpensive. We enjoyed our lunch and will come back again.
Best pho in the Santa Barbara-Goleta area. Service is a bit slow, but it’s excusable when the place is ran by a small family. I’ve been here twice and plan to visit it another time or two before I leave town. Highly recommend this spot if you love pho or Viet food altogether
Amazing pho!! Great service too, the pho is the best in town!
We got beef and chicken pho! It was so great! We usually go to noodle city, but we decided to give them a try and I’m so glad we did! The café is clean and the service was super friendly. Their prices are almost the same as noodle city. I would prefer going here for the ambience in cleanliness over all the rest of pho spots in SB!
Pho is excellent. I also like their spicy chicken and shaken beef meals! The owner is very friendly, and it's always a pleasant time!
What a surprise! Small family restaurant, making everything fresh and delicious. Very pleasant people willing to please; they serve you the food the way you want it. The spring rolls are very fresh and fluffy with fresh home made peanut sauce. I’m very picky with my food, staying away from processed foods. Here is the place to eat home quality food. Thank you. I’ve become a regular!
Absolutely love this spot. My girlfriend and I have been coming here for like two years straight. The Vietnamese coffee (with extra milk) is probably the best Vietnamese coffee I’ve ever had. I’m a beef pho guy and there’s is always solid, love how the noodles are always perfectly cooked. Definitely a go to spot after a night out as well haha.
Love the P3! Great service and food quality.
Best. PHO! I discovered this place when I did a Costco run this weekend and why am I just now finding out about this restaurant?! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the #1 combination pho and the shaken beef. Omg. Sooo good. The pho was so flavorful and rich I can't wait to go back. They also had thai iced tea which is my favorite and just brought everything together. Definitely going back again next time I'm in the area craving some food vietnamese.
As soon as we came we were quickly served. The Thai tea is AMAZING! Sweet, creamy, and strong but not overpowering.🌸 The pho was PHO-NOMENAL! It was fatty and flavorful with a subtle sweetness. YOU GOTTA TRY THIS PLACE!! The portions are perfect for sharing.
Best Pho is Goleta, isla vista and Santa Barbara
Been coming here for a few years fast, easy and consistently great pho
Delicious!! Had been feeling ill for a while and this soup healed me! Fantastic speedy service and reasonable prices. Chicken Pho is the way to go!!
By far, the best and most authentic pho in SB area. Blows other options out of the water
Amazing pho, tasty food, and efficient service.
This spot has become a staple in me and my boyfriend's weekly routine, at least once a week! The P1, combo pho, is the best dish I've had in Goleta. Comes out steaming hot and the broth is rich and flavorful! Very fast and friendly service with a great atmosphere, I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for a comforting, authentic viet cuisine!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had such a great experience at this pho restaurant! The food had a beautiful presentation — so colorful and fresh. I ordered the veggie pho 🍲 and it was absolutely delicious. It’s a wonderful spot to enjoy authentic food made by kind and welcoming people. Wishing this small business lots of gratitude and prosperity 🙏🏻✨ Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!
I’ve been here twice, I had combination rice C1 and rare beef pho. I have to say that they have best broth in town. The service is quick and professional. I love how they always keep their restaurant neat and clean. Strongly recommend for Vietnamese food lover
A pleasant Vietnamese spot with yummy meats and fried rice. Many seats available on Fri. Food: Ordered the combination pho and fried rice. Fried rice comes well peppered. Service: The cashier was quick to get to us and refilled water. Nothing stood out besides that. Atmosphere: Clean and simple. Nothing too fancy. Overall: A good spot for pho or a pepper-y fried rice.
We had a great experience, since we first arrived we were greeted quick and with a smile. The food was delicious, I would recomend 1000 times!!
Pretty good pho. Authentic, though could use a bit more meat. Broth was flavorful, in fact, I was glad it was not too salty. Pho broth that is over salty is a sign that the restaurant didn't make enough and they're trying to stretch it. You can taste it immediately. I was very pleased with the egg rolls and the service. I had no service issues like others have mentioned.
We have tried Pho restaurants across the country! This locations broth is amazing! So much so that we asked the owner what his secret was. Pretty impressed by what he said. I really don't want to share it. I think you gotta come find out for yourself. The service was quick and friendly food came out. Pretty fast. It was hot and the noodles were silky smooth. The ambiance was pretty decent, nice music in the background. You could just hear it, didn't take away from the experience of enjoying the food.
Friendly cashier always in a good mood. I recomend the combination Pho,delicious with jalapeños and extra lemon! Fried rice plate the best spring rolls, eggs rolls are bomb !
Best pho in the whole Santa Barbara county from this Vietnamese man!
Phamous Cafe is hands down our family’s favorite neighborhood restaurant! It’s a wonderful place to enjoy good food in a casual and relaxed environment. We eat here once every week or two and everything on their menu is delicious. The owner and staff are always so friendly and welcoming, and they have my kids’ orders memorized. The combination beef pho is our go-to order, but the chicken, shrimp and vegetable pho options are all great as well. The rice dishes are a tasty option if you’re not in the mood for pho, and the bun and banh mi are refreshing when it’s hot outside, as is their super caffeinated ice coffee.
My girlfriend and I have been coming here at least once a week for the past 9 months. I can confidently vouch that this is the best pho in the Goleta/Santa Barbara area. We both get the P2 and it always hits.

I’ve had pho before, and this is great pho. When I’m down, I get phamous cafe, when I’m happy, I get phamous cafe. I come here at least once a week and im never disappointed. With that being said, I’ll be back next weekend for more pho 😋
I love the food here, I’ve ordered something new each time and each plate is delicious!! Their Thai tea is fantastic and authentic tasting unlike other shops claim to have.
I went here because all the other places in the area were closed on Sundays, but this ended up being my new go to spot. SUCHHHHHH an amazing pho meal. Thai tea was gas. And the actual soup wasn’t that salty like other places in Goleta. Loveddddd the beef pho and vegetable pho even though I usually don’t. Also was obsessed w the spring rolls w peanut sauce and the egg rolls were good too. Wish they came with 4 instead of 2 but still good. Overall 10/10 place!

Dined in on a Sunday evening, sat down right away & food arrived pretty speedy. I ordered Bun vermicelli bowl w/grilled pork & my partner ordered Bun vermicelli bowl w/chicken. Food was decent! Service, decent. We would come back for a fast casual bite

Took over 35 minutes to get my Togo order of 2 phos. Would have been less of an issue if they had given a heads up about the wait time when I ordered since I had a young child with me. Very understaffed and very long wait, I would suggest coming outside of peak meal hours. Pho tasted good, they just include chunks of raw onion in the soup which isn’t typical and would be better left out

Man this place isn't like how it use to be. I went in today for lunch. First time back in about 2 years. Same set up, menu is almost the same. They did remove some items off of it (unfortunately). Anywho, I came in on lunch break, the young man with the glasses approached us with a terrible attitude. Immediately as we walked in he gave this disgusted look and was slightly rude. I thought maybe because my entire uniform was dirty? I mean I work on cars for a living. That's my occupation. I thought maybe it was just me. No, I guess it isn't. Other customers came in as I was waiting to be helped, they too were given terrible service. I even spoke to those other customers and we all agreed how this dude had not provide excellent service and how bad this place has gotten over the years. Before I use to give this a 3.0 out of 5. Now it's just a 0 out of 5 for me. I see many others on this review portion can agree. IF YOU WANT GOOD PHO IN THE 805, AL PHO SANTA MARIA ♡ SUVANS KITCHEN IN LOMPOC.

This noon time, I have a bowl of noodles in Phamous Cafe. I ate out a hair about 2 inches long. I picked up and put aside on the table and go on eating. Then I found ANOTHER hair that is as long as a FOOT. I am so upset about the hairs noodles since I have been this pho restaurant almost once a week and always have a bowl of it. I don't know what I had eaten before and what were hidden in the noodles that I ignored. I pointed out the hairs issues to the manager but they are very impolite and doesn't show any sorry to me. I will never be Phamous Cafe ANYMORE!
Super stingey w sides and meat for pho, and found a hair in the chili oil. go to Saigon noodle house instead
The customer service was very disappointing. Despite we were the only diners in the restaurant, the server was rude and gave us such an attitude. Unfortunately, I was trying to be kind and was looking forward to a pleasant meal but left feeling disrespectful and unwelcome. Definitely not coming back again. We left a fair amount in tips, BUT if you had a bad day or whatever, take a break. Don’t give such an attitude to your customer. The food was fair.

Absolutely terrible. I got fried tofu pho and it was disgusting. The noodles were soft and over cooked. My son's noodles were fine but mine were so bad I couldn't even eat them. The basil was wilted and no bean sprouts bc they were 'out.'. I will never eat here again. Save your money. The guy who works the front is cool, but the level of how bad this meal was overrides even the most excellent customer service.
