My last dining experience here was outstanding, perfection. I wish I remembered my servers name because he delivered exquisite customer service. The food, as always, was delicious- excellent. My one regret, is that I waited so long to write this review.

I'm 41 and have been coming to this restaurant since I was 6 yrs old. In my opinion it's the best food and best selection in the Valley. Menu has everything you could want, breakfast is definitely my favorite here. Biscuit and gravy sprinkled w/bacon and a bacon and egg taquito, breakfast of champs!

Wow this restaurant was amazing the food amazing the service amazing that one thing that threw me off was that our waitress was so cool, and also the food was so delicious and the waitress had no tattoos she had brown hair by the way and she was super helpful she was so nice I hope to see her not get fired because she was so sweet and kind and I hope she gets a promotion sometime soon and that is why this restaurant is the best.

What a friendly and great place too hold an event. The staff was so accommodating and professional. They go out of their way too ensure everything they can do for you is done. Even the waiter helped put a decision up. Thank you.

My mother invited my husband and I here and it was great. The size of the spinach omelet was HUGEEE and for the special of $5.99 you could not beat it. The waiter was the best and the new look is very homey and comfortable, interesting artwork all over the place. Super clean and friendly staff. A poor man had his young son throwing up really bad and a waitress was quick to attend to them and couldn't be more thoughtful. We stayed maybe 3 -4 hours that morning and it was not packed. Will go again for sure. Keep up the amazing work and effort every one who has given their part to make this restaurant great. It was a pleasure to visit and will definetly have more family outings here.

Always a great eatery, good food great menu. Since I've gotten older I'm noticing how noisy it can be at peak meal times. I now carry ear plugs as the band is much to loud, but good at a lower volume. We keep going back.

My family and I eat at Los Nortenos quite often! I am a picky guy and I am very observant of those that handle my food and the food of my kids. Sandy Bell is an outstanding person, we have grown to look for her and we try to sit in her sections. Customer service is bars above your expectations! She greats you like your family and she takes care of you has your family. She always has a smile on her face and colorful bows in her hair. If i owned a restaurant I would love to clone her 10 times. Truly a blessing for Los Nortenos ownership. Food at Los Nortenos has never been a let down. Portion are generous. This review is strictly my opinion I encourage you to try this place for yourself.

Our server was super nice and the food was delicious. We got the botana for 4..... that was way too much food! The botana for 2 could feed 4 maybe even 6!

Alrighty, another great recommendation as we're visiting Harlingen, Texas. We actually stopped in a gas station to head back to our city and was told this was the place to go! We were not disappointed at all. Not only are the prices great, but the food is awesome, tasty, and served at a great temperature to the table. I would love to come enjoy more menu options as they have so much to offer. Enchiladas, beans, rice, and T-Bone steak are all great. Thank you again for the great service, food, and hospitality while in your restaurant.

We were looking for authentic Mexican. After reading many other favorable reviews we decided to give this restaurant a try. Absolutely wonderful experience. Quick service from very attentive staff. Food was cooked perfectly and exactly as ordered. The homemade tortillas are to die for. Definitely recommend highly, and would also come back next time I'm in town.

Los Norteños is a great place to bring family and friends to enjoy a pleasant atmosphere and great food. Their staff are attentive and friendly. Restaurant is clean throughout. More importantly is their food. Homestyle tortillas compliment every meal and they never disappoint. Highly recommend.

I had the special. I liked the food but it was SO LOUD IN THERE. I barely made it through my meal. I wanted to get up and leave. I've never been in such a noisy restaurant. I'm not sure I'll ever go back.

I enjoy the atmosphere and music. The food is good, but sometimes the tortillas are a little greasy. But overall, I was very pleased with my experiences eating here. It is one of the 3-4 restaurants where I eat regularly.

Had the Shrimp Diablo, a good portion of shrimp sautéed in a spicy sauce of peppers,onion,tomato,and garlic. Sides of rice and charro beans. All very tasty.

Great service on an 8am Ash Wednesday visit for some breakfast tacos. Greeted immediately, directed to the front counter for to-go order. The young man behind the counter was very friendly, and extremely appreciative of the gratuity. The egg & bean tacos were large (ordered two, more than enough), coffee was a bit weak. There is a select menu of breakfast items on a small whiteboard when you walk in, I was hoping some other taco options, but “egg & beans” was the only one listed. I had my food ready within 10 minutes.

Food was ok but waiting staff wasn't in the best of mood. Waiter that brought my food asked me if I my order included avocado and I said I don't know, but leave it. He said " well I need to know if it does" so I told him I don't work here YOU DO. So he drop my food on the table along with the charro bean all over the table. He said sorry and left without even attempting to clean up his mess. Sad part is that he wasn't even out waiter he said "he was just helping out".

Every time I go it’s really good, I see that most of the time it’s busy, so that’s a good sign. My two different sides of the family are regulars of this place so I come with them of course too when I come to visit from out of state. I gave only four stars because I only had one issue and it was with service, but minor. Otherwise I love the food.

Clean restaurant with great food. Wait staff was poor. We waited at our table between 5 and 10 minutes before they even asked about our drink order and brought the menus. They were inattentive throughout the stay. I had the tampequena plate and it was really good.

The food was simple and delicious. The order was exactly what we expected and wanted. Lovely interior. A very Mexican vibe. Great murals. Friendly service. Lots of parking. Decent prices. Both the flour and corn tortillas are fresh, prepared in the restaurant.

I had not been here in quite a while. The restaurant sputtered during Covid and was closed for a time. They have new signage and were packed on Sunday. Surprisingly the service was faster than I expected. We had a large group and it was not bad considering. The food was good and the prices were fair. The waitress was tipped well for her trouble.

I usually go when my parents invite me for breakfast on the weekends. They are usually packed, but you can usually get seated right away. Breakfast is good. I enjoy their barbacoa plate. Prices are okay too. However They are just borderline where to a $1 more and i feel its too expensive for breakfast in my opinion. Others might agree, others might already find it overpriced so be consciente when going.

I’ve found that when your in Harlingen Tx your only option is Mexican food. We tried this one and it was good. Good sign was it was very busy. I ordered a meal I cannot pronounce or spell. It included fajita meat, taco, two enchiladas, rice and beans. Everything was delicious. The fajita meat was seasoned very good. Next time I might just get fajitas. My friend got the bar-BQ. He said it was good except the ribs. Those he said were not edible. He said they tasted like old meat. Everything else was good though.

The food is verygood here. If you are really looking for Mexican food and not Tex-Mex. Their cabrito is really authentic. They truly know the meaning of refried beans, definitely Mexican style in all its aspects. If you are more Tex-Mex, this is not your place. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because they do take a while to bring your food. I would recommend more chefs. The servers are very friendly and attentive.

Had been there before ordered pollo Al carbon which is a half chicken when came out they were giving me two leg quarters. Waiter was taking long to come ask for drink refills and had not ask if I still wanted plate they had run out of half chicken but didn't let customer make choice. We were there almost an hour by the time we finished usually we out within 30 to 40 minutes bad experience also wanted to over charge for his mistake usually will give good tip but left two dollars.

Ordered a fish and shrimp plate to go. It came with rice, fries and salad. The salad tasted old the tomato was going bad. The plate contained 1 fish filet and 3 flat sad looking shrimp. Wasn't the worst but for $11 it could have been better.

Food was good, but it's way over priced for the quality! Don't get me wrong quantity is great, food taste good, but not worth those prices! Plus the server kept forgetting what we were ordering!

It was decent but not the best. They have so much competition. Many Mexican food restaurants to choose from in this town. I would go back if I was with someone and that's where they wanted to go, no problem, but I would personally choose another restaurant. Not bad at all, but there's better. IMHO.

This place is clean, the atmosphere is great, and the staff is beyond friendly. Food though we had a parrillada thinking g it was gng to be grilled but it tasted more like if they boiled the meat which gave it a weired flavor. Beans needed more flavor as well. I will definitely give it a second try next time we are in the harlingen area.

5min to be attended. 5mins to get drinks. 25min to get complimentary chips and salsa. 25min to get food. Out waiter, Gustavo, didn't give such great service. Didn't greet us when we sat down. Never acknowledged us. When we were eating, never offered any refills. Although the food was great and plentiful, service severely lacked. This happens EVERYTIME we come here. Hope managment can make an effort to address that.

The service my family and I received was horrible. Our waitress didn't seem to know what she was doing. We received our drinks and told her we needed a couple of more minutes to look over the menu, she didn't come back for 20 minutes. She took our order and wrote it down, went away for 5 minutes and then came back to ask us what we ordered again.?! The only reason I'm giving a 2 star rating is because the food was delicious. After we received the food she asked if everything was okay and didnt come back. The thing is, the restaurant wasn't even busy. When we finally received our check and went to pay, the waitresses were sitting at the bar laughing and talking. Very bad service.

Went with family for the first time, ordered a variety of plates. Inside lighting was oddly bright. Food was reasonably priced, but tasted like frozen food that was defrosted then cooked or fried. Water has a metallic taste to it that also carries over into other beverages made with the same water.

Not enough waitresses, 2 waitresses for 1 whole dining area. Wait time to even get our drinks was ridiculous. Nothing to munch on while you wait for your food to be served. Once served, waitress never came back to check on us for refills. Had to wait on the waitress to be able to pay for services rendered. REALLY REDICULOUS!!

Loved coming here, but everytime we order breakfast, the potatoes are undercooked. Not coming back again. Talked with the manager and issue was not resolved. She said I should have asked for the potatoes to be fully cooked. Really who likes undercooked potatoes!

We had a big party, and all the food was cold. Told the server and came back with the same food just warmed up. Not very quick either when receiving the food.

Update: Finally got to eat here on Sunday 9-26-2021, lunch time 1pm. No hostess received us, waited at the door for about 8 mins. When we were seated the floor was dirty with trash. The food ok but the restaurant didn't have a welcoming vibe. I don't know what to think of this restaurant. I will keep it at 2 stars. (Arrived on a Saturday 9-4-2021 at dinner time 6:21pm and it was not open. Disappointed, Google shows it's supposed to be open 6am to 11pm. I'm giving a 2 star review, will update this rating if I can ever get to eat here.

Went in to eat breakfast and food was not very good. For the price it wasn't worth it. It was not busy and the service was slow. They were all hanging out by the kitchen area while we waited for someone to come take our order. I will probably not go back. I'll stick to eating at Casuelas. I was disappointed.

Ive been here a few times, but I had never received worse service. Family came from out of town and it was a total embarrassment. They took 15 minutes to sit us (sitting others in front of us when tables became available), another 20 minutes to get our drink order in TWO parts. And another 20 minutes to take our food order. We left 25 minutes later without eating. The manager was not helpful either. The other times I went it was great. So I guess, the recommendation is "great" if your party is no more than 2 people and you have time to waste. If you have a bad experience, don't bother talking to management.

Arrived at restaurant, asked one of the waitress for a certain table that were waiting for me, she rudely said "well sorry but u have to walk around and see if u find them" and walked away, 2nd, restaurant was not busy the food took forever to arrive, no chips and salsa were given, when asked for salsa the waitress brings this little tiny salsa plate that only 2 spoons of salsa u get when our table had more than 5 people, so no more salsa was given. The food well its not that good just blah. I will never chose this restaurant to dine again and no i don't recommend it.

Food is terrible. If I could give it a negative star, I would. They served me cold oatmeal. They messed up on my husband's order. We got up to just pay for the coffee that wasn't even that good. We arrived at 2 PM for a late lunch and all 3 carne guisada plates were cold! It sucked! Service was slow. Food took forever because they forgot about my order. My chicken tacos had almost no chicken, lettuce nor tomato. Waitress tried to get it fixed at paying time. All they deducted was 70 cents. We will never go there again. They dont deserve any stars. But I'm being forced to put one.

Bad experience with waitress named Lulu. She was charging one plate as a regular plate when it was a special with tea. Told her and she got mad at us for correcting her. From then on when we went she had told everyone working there that we wanted free tea and never wanted to pay for it. Tried talking to manager that was pathetic management. We would ask for a to go cup instead of them giving us a real glass and then asking for a cup to go. Even would pay the 50 cents charge on the foam cup. Lulu had problems with this. Had to start a ruckus about the cup of tea to go. Last straw was when she yellef at us. They can keep their lying waitress, their bad management and their tea!!! Will never go back!!! False advertisement on specials!!!!! Staff is allowed to bully customers!!!

What made this place really sad was the service... Once our order was taken, we never saw the server again. Someone else brought the food. We were not ever asked if we wanted some more coffee. I ended up getting my cup and my friends cup to ask for coffee. When I asked the man at the register, he said he would come and serve us. He never came. There was a server serving coffee to her tables, and when I asked for some coffee, she turned around with a discussing face and just started pouring without asking us if we wanted de-cafe... we didn't. I got up again asking for some real coffee and was yelled at by the same man who said he was going to bring us coffee to go sit down that the coffee was coming. It was a horrible experience that I never want to experience again.

This place was horrible - we were seated and ignored for 15 minutes at least. No one brought us water or asked us for an order at all. After watching people seated after us be served, we decided to leave and go somewhere else. Definitely go to another spot if you're trying to get food without a 30 minute wait.

Rude service. We were charged for a plate that we did not order. We refused the charge, but after disputing it, they still kept the money. No resolution, no accountability. We won’t be returning.

Not a good experience at this place at all. Ordered off the special bulletin. They had chicken fried chicken for 8.99 so that's what I wanted. Our server took 15 mins to come to our table for drinks. Ordered and got our food 45-50 mins later. Only to get cold food and my order wrong. They gave me chicken fried steak. So I told our waitress who didn't speak a lick of English that I ordered the special "pollo". And I sent it back. We'll she brings back the same plate and tells me I'M the one who ordered wrong. I said na. Then, she ignored our table and never brought my correct plate. Left without eating. Never again this place. If I could give 0 stars I would. Then they changed the special menu to cover their mistake 👎👎

Arives very little gray and when I asked for more the wanted to charge more..... I took a pic. Then the bill comes and it's 11.oo this is outrages. Not going to recommend you all.

I love eating here, but today’s experience was disappointing. Our waiter had an attitude from the start. We hadn’t eaten all day, and since it was already 3:00, we ordered right away. When he told me they were out of the dish I wanted, he sighed loudly and seemed annoyed while waiting for me to pick something else. We waited 25 minutes just for refills and had to ask another waitress to get his attention. Meanwhile, four different families who sat after us were served before we were. After 50 minutes, I finally got up and spoke to the manager. She was polite and immediately went to check on our order, but by that point, we decided to leave. We went to Tejano Grill instead — sat down, and in less than 10 minutes, we had our food, which was amazing! Please do better, Los Norteños. I really enjoy your food, but the service today was unacceptable.

So we were visiting family in the area and decided to stop at this restaurant. Upon walking in and sitting it took a while for us to get service. Are ordering the drinks the tea was the instant tea that is made from powder. The food came out and the BBQ plate was not a pleasant site. The chicken was old the ribs were like if they were reheated, and old. The brisket was full of fat. They never brought the bead for the plate. The Mexican plate was cold. The refried beans were so dry and old. The tortillas that should have come with the plates didn’t come with the orders. After about 40 minutes after receiving the food the waitress can to see if we were okay. Then she asks would you like the bread and tortillas. We were done as for we were not pleased with the food. The food stayed there. Then she just walks away. Never did she call a manager as for we weren’t not happy with the food. That is what should have been done for customer service. When going to the cashier we notified him of the service and the situation. What did he come and say we are taking off 10%. Really!!! Never again the service and management is horrible. Warning Warning don’t go there. I notified them that I was going to put in a review and here it is. Not happy.
