Excellent place highly recommend. Food was 10/10 one of the best Octupus ive had perfectly tender yet crispy well seasoned. Mariscada with garlic entree wish there was more but amazing taste. Skirt steak was also great. Staff super friendly and attentive. We went off hours 3:30pm so were able to just walk in. New favorite seafood spot!

If you’re craving authentic Spanish tapas, Lola Tapas is the place to go! I recently visited, and I have to say, the octopus was absolutely incredible—just like something you’d find in Spain. The freshness of the seafood was evident, and it was cooked to perfection. Tender and flavorful with the perfect char, each bite was a reminder of my travels through the Spanish coast. The seasoning was spot on, with a beautiful balance of smoky paprika and a touch of olive oil. It was simple yet packed with such rich flavor—exactly what you want from a great dish like this. Beyond the octopus, the whole experience at Lola Tapas was fantastic. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy yet lively, perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or a special date night. The menu offered a great variety of other dishes, from crispy croquettes to savory chorizo, but that octopus? It stole the show. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to indulge in an authentic Spanish meal right here in town. Can’t wait to go back!

What a great find! Food and service at Lola’s is amazing, welcoming and beautiful patio environment. Had the avocado stuffed with lobster & shrimp, perfect summer fare done extremely well. Highly recommended!

Gorgeous restaurant w friendly and attentive wait staff! Would recommend Octopus grilled in oil. It’s cooked to be so soft on the inside but the suckers are very try crispy. Definitely the highlight! Paella rice was so delicious and they nailed the mussels here. Seafood definitely overshadowed the patatas bravas. They offer free two hour parking at nearby garage!

My first time at Lola's was espectacular . Our server Reyli was extraordinary explained the menu and recommended some dishes. We order the paella marinera with lobster and Also white sangria ( yes I had more than one ) The other dish I forgot the name pics here for reference. Oh and don't forget to try their bread ! With olive oil and add salt and your are set. Dessert good selection but we didn't order any.

Tried this spot for another date night and this one was cool because they were open til 2 (interesting closing time for Rona times but hey we getting better 🤘🏾) and the eats this time were A1. My lady had the veggie paella and I had to try their shrimp angel hair we also shared the mushrooms — very well done! She had her tasty wine and I went with a simple blue moon. The outside area is really nice looking but it was a bit chilly last night in particular so the waiter kindly setup a table for us inside. The place is really dope inside too. We thought we needed a res cause it looked packed but oh no never worry about getting a table most of the time these guys are fast and thorough, even on a Friday night. Check em out soon!

Jazz was AMAZING! We went for hohohoboken and were told we could only be seated w/ reservations after being told while waiting in line we didn’t need them. we were starving and the manager noticed, and so did Jazz and offered us a table with the BEST service. Everyone was so kind and accommodating, especially Jazz and the food came out extremely quick! (Large portions too!!)

Had to try this place after a famous TikToker with 2.7 million followers recommended it. This restaurant did not disappoint! From the service to the espresso martini, everything was perfect! They even gave us a free dessert! Looking forward to coming back.

Excellent food and - if anything - too extensive of a menu! You just have to ask what they recommend and pick from there because there is so much to choose from at Lola’s! The sangria is also out of this world and the wait staff are very efficient and kind. Oh, and the owner is super nice too

Hoboken icon! Don’t even think about it see you there! The good is immaculate and the service is top notch. Celebrate a birthday, a baby shower or bachelorette! They have the space you need to celebrate.

I’ll say this, the octopus was delicious and generally I’m not the biggest fan. Extensive menu, unique decor. Well worth a visit.

We had a wonderful experience at Lola’s. The service was 10/10. The drinks were great and strong :) the garlic shrimp were delicious.

A regular staple for me. The octopus is always so decadently cooked and lightly seasoned to perfection. This was my first time trying the croquetas, the spinach ones were flavorful but the rest I can’t recall the flavor but they weren’t to die for. The swordfish was another dish they mastered. I find that many places overcook the swordfish, but not here, it was perfectly moist and rich in juices. I tried the scallops but I would never… ever… ever order that again. That was the strangest combination of flavors the world may have ever seen. It was like a fruity sauce with nuts and 4 scallops for like 25 dollars. Definitely stay away from that concoction. Anyway, their sangria, espresso martinis and bar are always amazing. The service is always on point from beginning to end and that’s why it will stay a staple for me.

I had a very high expectation as it is said to have the best paella and Spanish tapas in NJ area. It’s fairly good but doesn’t amaze me. Some seafood feels not very fresh. Overall slightly disappointing…

This is a 4.5 start Place !!! Great location; tasty food; good balances between each Tapas !!! Its really taste fresh from the scratch !! I just hope the service get more on point Please clean the menus or just create a digital one so we as customers do not feel our hands so greasy

It got 4 stars only because their house wine was beyond and above. The food was mediocre and boring. I would personally cut the menu at least in half or just leave 25%. Clams were returned to the kitchen because they were bitter.

P
Pinar Ozcan

Good enough. Only thing I didn’t like was the scallops. So smallll and bland. All others were good

H

Patatas bravas were okay. I expected the sauce to feel more rich or the potatoes more crispy. The croquettes were not good in my opinion and they bring them with marinara sauce which I find weird, felt like I was eating mozzarella sticks with marina sauce. The sausage was good with the veggies.

The place is really beautiful and the service is perfect! But the food is regular. We got the paella and the patatas bravas, and they were not that flavourful. For the prices, they were not as good as we expected, my boyfriend is spanish and he said it was ok.

C
Christabelle Liu

My sister and I got the seafood platter on the tile to share. It was a good amount of food for the price, and was well seasoned and delicious! The crab legs tasted a little bit less than fresh, though everything else was great. A few tapas were a bit of a miss personally, though I haven't made my way through all of them yet either, so I'll reserve final judgement for when I do! We also got a pitcher of the housemade red sangria, and that was dangerously good - drank it like juice! 😂

Very nice place. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. Nice atmosphere.

Food was very tasty, but definitely a bit over priced. We enjoyed everything we tried. The lamb chops were the biggest disappointment, they tasted great but 3 one bite chops that costs the price of a whole meal. The paella was delicious! The dessert was okay. Would go back was a nice dinner, the service was great everyone was nice and helpful.

Fred Twum-Acheampong

For the price I was expecting much more. The service was slow and only a couple dishes hit the mark (avocado + crab was tasty). The scallops were small, overcooked, and surrounded by chewy bacon. The broccolini was a little overcooked as well. We had shrimp pasta that was nice, but I like my noodles more al dente. We also had red sangria, which was delicious, but not very strong on the alcohol side. Overall, we were pretty disappointed with the dinner and probably won't go back.

Nice decoration and grand variety of Spanish wines. The food is not the same as in Spain, but it is OK. The service was very good.

Great service, nice(ish) but overpriced savory food, nice coffee but horrible desserts. The seating area outside is nice. The bathroom is clean.

Staff is very attentive and nice. The ambience is great. The tapas were great, however, it was the paella that ruined it for me. I wanted to love it. It had zero flavor, the seafood tasted steamed. They needed to add seasoning and also let that rice in the bottom of the pan crisp up. It even lacked oil. For sure no saffron either. I can forgive that as I know saffron is very expensive, but at least use stock to flavor it up. Felt like plain rice with steamed seafood on it....so, meh.

The experience was ok; the music was too loud, it was hard to keep a normal conversation. The service was ok too, the food took very long to come out, and it was terrible. I asked for lamb medium-well and got overcooked hard lamb meat. The garnish sauce was extremely salty, and the pieces of lamb tiny. From each piece of lamb, the most I got was three bites. The waiter said there were no side dish options; it was "whatever the chef felt like giving me." The vegetables that the chef felt like giving me were tasteless and seemed like microwaved veggies. I also got mashed potatoes, which was decent. I would not consider going back to that place or recommending it.

V

Food felt over priced, with a focus on quantity over quality. Sangria had lumps of undissolved sugar at the bottom. Spanish anchovies were good, other food not memorable. We sat outside which was really nice but the owner and friends were smoking at a nearby table which killed the atmosphere (some patrons asked to be moved because of the cigarette smoke and I don't think anyone even apologized to them). Waiters were all good and attentive but the kitchen was slow with getting the food out.

Restaurant was completety empty, but servers were very friendly which I appreciated until I found out they snuck in a lobster to our seafood paella order and charged extra when I clearly asked for the regular one 🤨 like why do that to customers when we could've walked away with an okay impression? Went after seeing positive reviews but only the octopus was good/dishes were dusty bc there wasn't enough turnaround.

Well lets just say that they stated Baby back ribs on the menu and served spare ribs 😔. This is actually a common practice for restaraunts trying to mislead people and scam them with cheap ribs. Before i made this review, i waited a while to write this without emotion. Now for the rest of the food. It was $100 before tip for the swordfish, bacon wrapped scallops, baby back ribs, and 1 drink. Overpriced for the overcooked food. I asked two different people at the resteraunt if these were spare ribs. They both stated fiecly these were baby back ribs. Look at the photo and you tell me. I make spare ribs all the time. I make baby back ribs all the time. It was just a disappointment that we were misled about the ribs. The entire atmosphere was odd. Upon walking in, i asked another table about how the food was. They said they only had the appetizer and had waited 30 minutes so far for the rest of the food it did not look busy like other places. We actually were served everything fairly quickly. Swordfish was very dry, scallops were so tiny and very rubbery. And the ribs were overcooked. Anyway. Would i eat here again? No. Would i recommend this place? No. The server was great, but he also stated those were baby back ribs. It was a bar and sitdown restaurant. Quiet enough for a date atmosphere but also lively.

My favorite parts of the meal were the bread and cheese at the beginning, and then when we left at the end. My BF and I had been wanting to try this spot out for a while. We always passed by it and saw that they had HH drinks/tapas til 11 at the bar, M-F. We came in on a Monday at around 8:30 and the place was pretty empty. Maybe because it was a Monday? But I don't think I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, because the food was pretty terrible so I think that was the reason. It was like they just pulled in anybody who was available for the night, put them in the kitchen, and said "hey, whatever you think this tapas dish is, make your interpretation of it with whatever we have in the kitchen. Here is everything we had: Chicken wings - these were smothered in some kind of sauce. It tasted like AYCE wings that you'd get from a Hoboken bar. Not really sure what we were thinking when we decided to order this. Lomo embuchado - so we didn't know what this was and they told us it was thinly sliced pork. But I just Googled it and it's actually dry-cured pork loin. What we got was a thin, and dry piece of salty pork. Not exactly the same as dry-cured. Croquetas - pretty basic. These are definitely refried again and again, if they can't sell them all Meatballs - salty and dry Seafood salad - we were told that this was ceviche but in actuality, it was just boiled shrimp and squid, covered in an old salsa Shrimp ajillo - this was the only thing that was actually not bad. But it's not enough to make me want to come back Drinks were no better. I had a cosmo and BF had a mojito and both were straight sugar. Maybe the regular, non-happy hour hour menu is better? (doubtful) Try the "tapas" at your own risk.

The server had a bit of attitude and the food was not good at all. Not worth it!

R

The food was really disappointing—possibly the worst paella I’ve ever had. It lacked flavor, and none of the ingredients seemed fresh. The service, however, was good.

A
Alex Boenisch

As if someone had tapas described to them and then had to recreate it using whatever was left in their freezer. Just a bunch of highly overpriced, brown, vaguely Spanish tasting food. Nothing here is good.

E
Edward Calderon

Food was expensive and not what you'd call "authentic" Spanish cuisine especially if you've ever been to Spain.
