Mad Dogs

Delicious gourmet hotdogs. I'd never eaten here before. They just opened up over here. I was driving around last night around midnight looking for something to eat, other than the generic restaurants open that late. I passed by and saw they were open. Decided to give them a try, and I am hooked. Got the elote dog with fries and chili cheese fries. Didn't get to the chili fries yet, but that hot dog... the kick to it, the flavor, soooo good. The gentleman who helped me and took the time to go through the items and made the recommendation was so welcoming. I will be back for my late night cravings. As you can see from the pic, nothing was left behind.

Best smash burger I’ve ever had! Can’t miss the elote dog either (get it spicy!) Fast service and great prices. Will definitely come back!

Barbra took great care of us and the food was amazing! I had the double with onions, jalapeños, and beef bacon—fresh, flavorful, and not too heavy. My husband had the fries and triple burger and was completely full. First visit and everything exceeded expectations. Didn’t even get photos because it was so mouthwatering. We’ll definitely be back!

Love coming here for some late night cravings. Not only just for the fire glizzy dogs served here but the staff and their superb hospitality and recommendations. Highly recommend everyone and anyone to swing by to give it a try especially if the one and only Mr. Roderick is behind the counter!

Came in for lunch, wasn't expecting too much since there's alot of these hotdogs n smash burger places popping up. Had the brisket smash and elote dog. Burger was on the small side but the flavors were good. Burger patty was smashed with good crispy crust. The hotdogs was good too. They use a spicy link top with corn. All and all very tasty

We came here for the first time following a thread from instagram. The staff was very friendly, the food was delicious. I specifically recommend the beef hot dog with elote it was so good!!! The jalapeños were not murdering hot, and you can taste the quality of the beef hot dog. My husband and one of the boys had the burgers and the elote on a cup, and they loved them. Their french fries are so crunchy until the very last one, never got soggy or hard. Their cane sugar drinks are delicious, and my boys went nuts for them (the mango lemonade was soooo good). You have to check them out!!!

Definitely recommend!! 10/10 I am picky with weenies but these hot dogs are a must try they are beef links & the bread is so fluffy it’s a perfect combo. I tried the spicy link Mad Dog BOGO & it was perfect definitely coming back. Must try Mad Dog spicy or non-spicy very good

The food was so good. The bun was soft the chili was so good but the barbecue sauce was even better. It doesn’t taste like it’s out the bottle or from the bottle and added anything to it. It taste like he made that, if he was to put it on a rib omg it would be over. The people are so nice and welcoming as well.

Great food at Mad Dogs on Westheimer! The food was fresh, flavorful, and served hot. The customer service was excellent and the staff was very welcoming. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you’re in the area!

I got the spicy chopped cheese dog. I love mad dog hot dogs and burgers. I’m working my way through the menu to eat them all. They’re great!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Went to Mad Dog today with my significant other, my second visit and his first, and the food was outstanding. The burger and fries were hot, fresh, and seriously delicious. The gentleman working was running the place solo with a full lobby and still stayed professional, calm, and kind while bringing food to tables, which really says a lot about his character. We loved that there were games too, we played Uno and the time flew by 🎲😊 Overall, great food, great energy, and a fun atmosphere. I fully support this location and will definitely be back. Hoping they get more staff soon because this place is clearly popular and well deserved 🌟🍔🍟

⭐️ Automatically start out with a star when you come at me friendly. My 1st smash burger and it was Brisket Burger, no cheese because I'm already as cheesey as it gets. And lactose intolerant. Side of fries seemed battered but not abused. They have options for flavoring them or loaded.

I ordered delivery on Door Dash. It came in hot and crispy. The hot dog was so good. I love the fried onion on top. However, the sauce for hot dog is a little bit sour for my taste. The fries is my style 😍

Small but delicious. The cheese was melted just right and the fries were good and crispy. Im giving 3 stars bc the patty and bread were very thin-- airy feeling. I ordered the Single Smash Burger with a side of fries and water and paid $12.89 thru DoorDash .

Heard good things about this place and unfortunately it wasn’t as good as I heard. The Mad Dog is something I’ve had before from a competitor, iykyk. Their version isn’t as good and quite sloppily made. The only good thing about the dog was the spicy link. It had the snap I was looking for. Kinda disappointed but it is what it is.

I had to go back inside for her to fix it, and then again when I got back to my car, I started eating my fries and some of them were cold… smh. I just throw them away

Hot double smash burger and cold hotdog. To the young man working today 11/23/25 at about 11am. Your attitude towards customers reflects the way you are treated. Walking up to me as Im reading the menu that is displayed and telling me you no longer use that... you could have told me good morning and thanks for coming in, then you could ask to take my order. I didn't know I now worked there and had to put my own order into a machine. Wouldn't hurt to give a little better customer service. That was my first and last time in that shop.

Food quality seems to heavily depend on the day and time you order. Ive ordered various times and days; sometimes I get amazing hot dogs, other times I get overcooked hot dogs, stale toppings, and tastes like a totally different place. I used to frequent this place but I think the gamble of getting good food, especially for the high price, is no longer worth it. I hope this can be addressed.

I came here around 8:15 PM and placed my order through the kiosk. I didn’t receive my food until 9:45 PM. I completely understand there was a rush and the place was packed due to a scheduled event, but that’s also exactly why this situation could’ve been better anticipated and staffed accordingly. The staff, including the manager tried their best to make sure every customer was served, they were doing their best under pressure. However, the overall operation felt disorganized. Orders were being missed, food was coming out soggy, and there was very little communication with customers who had been waiting a long time. When I finally received my food, 2 items were missing. After waiting another 10 minutes and informing a worker, she turned around and ended up giving me someone else’s unclaimed order that had clearly been sitting out for some time. The hot dog I received was soggy and falling apart, it clearly wasn’t fresh. I really did try to stay understanding during the rush, but I feel like this could’ve been handled much better. At the very least, some communication or a gesture of courtesy when orders were delayed or incorrect would’ve made a difference. I hope this feedback helps improve future service.

This is a pick up location. Normally I get my hot dog in a box container but here I got it in a paper wrap. When I opened my paper wrap, my entire topping was off and my hot dog was burnt.

Food is highly overpriced. The taste doesn’t nearly justify the price. Hot dogs and smash burger were cold. Ingredients lacked flavor and were obviously cheap. Not sure how they have 4.5 stars, must be fake. Not to mention the place was completely empty. DO NOT COME HERE!

how can an owner expect their business to succeed in the long run if the workers do not bother with even the most minimal amount of customer service? answer: you can’t. you will fail. I walked in, started looking at the menu to decide. several moments later a worker peeked out from behind the kitchen and said hi. i said hi too. I figured they were getting ready to take my order. couple more minutes pass. then i’m like where did she go. I did not call out for them. I just stood there waiting to get my order taken like an idiot. Eventually, a couple more minutes later, she peeks out from the back, again, and says, ohh you put your order on the screen there. Did not take one step forward from the back to even bother to show me. I grant that i did not see the order screen also, and that is on me that i did not see the order screen. Nevertheless, this business is built not only on good food, but also customer service. Good customer service. I get it, this is not server restaurant. This is a fast casual cafe style restaurant. That is fine. And still, waiting a really long time to even bother to greet your customers is unacceptable. I worked in restaurants, and we were trained to ALWAYS greet ALL customers within 45 seconds. period. full stop. Also i’ve never ordered on a touch screen. How in the world am I gonna know? Most of your potential customers are not youngsters like the lady who had no idea what customer service is and pointed at the screen to order from 20 feet away. That is unacceptable. This is a brutally competitive business in our city, and you are going to go bankrupt because of that. And there are literally hundreds upon hundreds of burger spots and hot dog spots in this city to choose from. Your move. Goodbye.

I visited today with my family, and unfortunately our experience wasn’t great. The food quality was disappointing and didn’t seem as fresh as expected. Also, the person making my food didn’t look happy or welcoming, which affected the overall atmosphere. I hope the restaurant can improve both the food quality and customer service because the place has potential.

Ordered twice through uber..1st night was okay hot dogs arrived cold very surprising since we live like 5 minutes away & I was a gm for cava and five guys for years so hot dogs hold heat especially in containers. They were so cold cheese was congealed. Second time I almost through up....the hot dog was so mooshy and tangy like it was old and it was cold. My partner usually eats all my left over and they were even disgusted. Macaroni totts the best thing that arrived. Yet sad I thought I'd enjoy having a hot dog place close smh. I know buisness may be slow, but please don't sale old meat. There's is no rush ensure hot dogs are cooked properly they will not arrive cold and beef shouldn't be soggy.

Wanted to eat a good Philly cheesesteak hotdog with chili cheese fries. Got the text saying food was ready at 6:10pm gave it time, got there around 6:20pm still wasn’t ready until about 6:35pm. But that wasn’t the worst part when I got home the food was cold mind you I only live 7 minutes away from the restaurant. The food wasn’t good at all will never go back very disappointing I had high hopes for this place because the food looks really good.
