Preguntas frecuentes sobre Tong Fong
Opiniones de Tong Fong Independencia
A great place to eat Chinese food at a good price. All the food is very flavorful, and the natural fruit drinks are truly fresh. It's a very popular spot, so be prepared to wait in line for the buffet. I highly recommend it. What I liked most was their sweet and sour sauce, and for dessert, the carrot salad. The place needs better ventilation, as it gets very hot when it's always crowded.
Excellent food, excellent price (the buffet is a bonus). I give it 5 stars. The only thing I didn't like is that it's a bit too enclosed and feels like stepping into a sauna, but perhaps that was because of the time I went: 4:00 PM on a Friday. Minor details. Everything else was great! 👍🏻
Chinese buffet restaurant. The food is freshly made. It's crowded and the space is small. The bathrooms are a bit ugly.
Very good food, affordable, wide variety of dishes, due to the number of people who attend the atmosphere is noisy but calm for conversation, few waiters to serve drinks.
Delicious food, they should also make mini sandwiches to show off the many products that many of us don't know. We don't know many foods and I suppose that many visitors also don't know about those dishes. This way, they arouse curiosity to know that there is more to try. For example, whatever they have the most and isn't sold is a demonstration to sell and that way it will be known that it is an example. I don't buy ramen because I don't know if the ones in bags taste good. For that, I go to Frikiplaza, where they prepare them well.
It has a great variety of food and most of it has good flavor and you can see that they are fresh products and at a very affordable price, however, the customer service leaves much to be desired, the waitress takes the ticket from you when you enter but doesn't check it to see if you ordered anything else, a pitcher or a drink and gives it to you reluctantly.
Ok
You can eat as much as you want here for $50 pesos
It's an inexpensive place. The facade is simple, not elegant in any way. But it's a pleasant place, not dirty, and while it could use a better variety of food, for $50 for the buffet it's not bad. Plus, they accept card payments! (Uncommon in Chinese restaurants).
The food has gone downhill; there's very little variety in the dishes. The service is terrible. The waitress never came to take our drink orders and let us pile up dirty dishes. We ended up doing self-service and put the dirty dishes on trays they put in the middle of the aisle. The restroom is filthy.
Overall it's fine, the buffet is cheap (65), the food is average, the service is the same, drinks are separate, soft drinks start at 20, pitchers at least 55 pesos, it's good for emergencies if you're downtown, it's crowded but there are several spaces for everyone to get a seat. On weekends I think the buffet is more expensive although I don't remember by how much. It's on the first floor so it's not suitable for people in wheelchairs or with mobility problems, so take that into account.
The food has lost its appeal. I know it's a buffet, but even the vegetables (not very well cooked) and stir-fries tasted better before. I went recently, and the hygiene has also deteriorated significantly. There's no toilet paper in the "terrace" restrooms, and the women's restroom I see is never available because one of the stalls is always under repair. The walls are now covered in smeared food. I know it's the users' responsibility to maintain the establishment properly, since access is free, but it's up to both parties to understand that these kinds of issues can be avoided. The opening hours are unclear, but I recommend going after midday. I've been earlier several times, and it's truly uncomfortable with the staff; they're very curt and unresponsive.
The place might not look its best, but if you're looking for a very affordable Chinese buffet, it's a good option. You pay before entering, so the process is quick. The waiter who served us was friendly, and the dishes are classic Chinese fare—nothing more, nothing less. However, space is limited, so during peak hours you'll have to wait for a table, even though they indicate a maximum stay of an hour and a half. It's popular because of the price, but if you're looking for better-tasting, higher-quality food, there are other options.
First, the price. The main reason to come here: a Chinese buffet for only $50. As for the food, it's not bad... But you can't expect the best Chinese buffet in town for this price. The place is nice (mentioning this on a day when it was almost empty), otherwise it's always packed, and the service tends to slow down in those times. In any case, it's worth a visit; the low price won't affect your wallet too much.
Although I love this type of food, I sincerely do not recommend it. It is a very cheap buffet and is super fast, but there is no variety to choose from, there are very few chopsticks, the water is separate, the seasoning is not good for the few dishes and the place being an old building looks ugly. The only thing that saves it is that if you don't have much money and you are very hungry, they stop.
For the price, you get a decent meal, but nothing special. The place smelled pretty bad, like sewage, when you walked in, and during the hot season, it's unbearable due to poor ventilation. The good thing is that the food didn't hurt the next day.
The place is very big but very dirty, with food scattered on the floor and everything mixed together, plus the cutlery isn't properly washed! Honestly, the food, like the chicken and meat, already smells like it's about to go bad. It's very cheap food, but not good quality.
Today was my second time there. The first time I had a problem with the desserts because the carrot with yogurt tasted like mayonnaise, and today, the second time, the worst happened. When I was eating fruit with yogurt, I was eating normally, and when I checked my fruit, I found a small cockroach. That disgusted me a lot. I left my food and left the place.
