Came for an early dinner and food was good, price was on the higher end. Falafel (3) were very moist, less crunchy. Burger was good, ans cooked well. Staff was great, amicable and we were quickly seated with no wait time. Clean establishment.

Well-curated American fare in downtown Sutter Creek. The food was exceptional at the price point, phenomenal shrimp and grits. A nice variety of cocktails, service was exceptional and it's in a comfortable space attached to the Hanford House. A little loud for my taste but it was a Saturday night after all. Can't wait to go back.

Delicious food, some with classic or unique flavors. The staff are local and attentive to your needs. The location of elements is on main street, you can see the local farmers market every Saturday morning from your seat, which is across the street. The inside is crisp and clean, featuring local artwork. Smaller restaurant, so book in advanced. Walk in for take out for the above Hanford House is available. All around recommend!!!

Try their specials! All I can say is YUM to the special of the day 'Irish Soda Bread pancakes with Blueberry Ginger Sauce... (OMG) Not too sweet, which made it perfection. I had their coffee black, and I must say it was the best tasting coffee I've had (move over Verve). The vibe was casual chic and reservations recommended (even for breakfast!) This is my go-to when guests visit, and we are simply never disappointed.

Clean, fresh, vibes are hallmarks of this restaurant. Normally a long line to sit, we were able to sneak in on a slow morning. Staff is very friendly and attentive. I had the breakfast tacos. They were dime sized tacos with chorizo, potato, egg, and green salsa. Each component provided a distinct flavor. I also ordered a vanilla latte, it was delicious. A little pricey, but you are paying for quality food in a wonderful environment. I recommend trying at least once.

We had a great time at Element the other night - the food was fantastic, the local wines were perfect pairings. I'll come back for more soon!

The commute from Reno to Central Cali or Bay Area is Beautiful, but what's better? When you find a good place to relax and enjoy your view. The menu changes for the season. I had the Roasted Chicken w/ Verde Risotto! Mmmm

Even though we arrived shortly before the kitchen closed, we were welcomed very friendly and got a great meal within minutes. Food, service and atmosphere were top notch. Thanks

Clean, delicious, contemporary food. Fantastic vegan and vegetarian options. Absolutely amazing staff! Make sure to park at a parking lot across the street: the lot attached to the place is tiny and shared with the lodge :)

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Element, located in the charming Hanford House in the heart of Sutter Creek, California. This delightful restaurant offers an ambience that perfectly blends coziness and culinary excellence, making it a gem in Gold Country. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the OG SMASH BURGER, a dish that can only be described as an epicurean delight. This burger is a masterpiece, featuring a half-pound of two expertly smashed beef patties, which are the heart and soul of this culinary wonder. Each bite offers a harmonious blend of flavors and textures – from the subtly sweet caramelized onions to the crisp, refreshing shredduce. The house pickles add a delightful tang, while the rich goat cheese and creamy avocado elevate the burger to new heights of deliciousness. The addition of a perfectly cooked egg and crispy bacon rounds off the experience, creating a symphony of flavors that dance on the palate. What makes this burger truly exceptional is Element's special sauce, a secret recipe that they call "Element 61." This sauce adds an indescribable depth of flavor, tying all the elements together on a beautifully toasted brioche bun. And let’s not forget the hand-cut frins - a perfect, crispy complement to the burger. Beyond the food, the atmosphere at Element is one of genuine warmth and welcoming. The vision of Element is simple yet profound: to create a space where guests can indulge in home-cooked meals that not only satisfy hunger but also comfort the soul. This vision is brought to life by their talented chefs, who blend timeless culinary traditions with innovative twists. The use of the freshest local ingredients ensures that each dish not only bursts with flavor but also supports the local community. A special shout-out is deserved for our host, Sarah, and our server, Jenny. Their exceptional service greatly enhanced our dining experience, adding a personal touch that made our meal at Element truly unforgettable. In summary, Element at the Hanford House is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary destination that offers a unique and delightful experience. Whether you're a local or just passing through Gold Country, a visit to Element is a must for any food lover. Their OG SMASH BURGER alone is worth the trip, but it's their overall commitment to quality and service that will keep you coming back for more.

Great food. Bianca was very attentive. When my wife mentioned she was on a low-carb diet, Bianca suggested a great substitution for our meal.

Great place with wonderful service. It was rather crowded, so I highly recommend making a reservation. Great vibe, great breakfast food.

Element is a great option for brunch when you’re in Sutter Creek. Great service and atmosphere.

Element has a great map of the Motherlode on the wall to the right of the door as you walk in. The service is great, the food is fresh and the coffee is caffeinated. If all the breakfast options in Sutter Creek, it’s definitely one of them.

We have been wanting to try this restaurant for many years, but it always seemed to be closed when we were in town (we usually are here during the mid-day.) We finally decided to make a special trip just for this place and I'm glad we did. I was a bit worried to bring a group because the menu seems a bit sparse. I need not have worried, for the food was excellent all around. I had the NY Steak, which was delicious and cooked to perfection. My wife opted for the shrimp and grits which was equally excellent. On the table was also a Spring Pasta and a Comfort Bowl with added chicken. All were delicious. The service was attentive without being overbearing. We had everything we wanted when we wanted it. The bartender does a great job and the ambiance is very comfortable on the eyes. I look forward to going back and highly recommend this restaurant.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Element Restaurant in Sutter Creek, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The service was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, contributing to the warm atmosphere of the place. Now, let's talk about the food. The braised beef was simply insane—tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. It’s clear that a lot of care went into its preparation. The smash burger was equally impressive, juicy and packed with flavor, making it one of the best I've had in a while. Overall, Element offers a fantastic dining experience with great service and mouthwatering dishes. I can't wait to return and try more from their menu.

First things you take in when you walk in - friendly faces, amazing smells, and tall ceilings with great lighting. Tim's menu is an enticing one, simple yet eloquent, classic with a fun twist. Every item is balanced, full of flavor and seasoned beautifully. Price vs quality is right where it should be. The beverages were delicious as well and were equal to the quality of the food items. You won't find many places that can give you a culinary experience like this for under $100. You will enjoy every bite.

Everyone is cool. The food is good, the atmosphere is easy, and the staff couldn't be any nicer.

Since moving to Nor Cal two years ago, we've sampled a lot of area dining, but Element has just topped the list! The food is a delight to the palate with each dish beautifully prepared with fresh ingredients. The homemade ricotta was a superb, creamy and flavorful, start to the meal. We followed with the light and delicious pasta and perfectly cooked steak. The beignets were the perfect end to our meal—light, fluffy, and just the right touch of sweetness. The only thing I would have preferred is a different choice of music to enhance the ambience. Top 40 (although not loud), is not the right vibe for this place. Highly recommend for anyone looking for top-quality food and a memorable dining experience!

Excellent meal! Incredible service. Our server, Brianna, was exceptionally attentive and helpful. She took care of us when we asked to move inside (got a little chilly). Food and beverage quality was outstanding. Great vibe here.

Visiting a friend. I can honestly say this is in my top five favorite restaurants in the US. The people that work here from the GM, server, host etc… were all amazing. Oh and then there was the food. Every single thing we ordered was incredible. I have now mandated that every time I visit we must eat here the first night and possibly the second. I do not review restaurants very often if at all, but this place is incredible.

Holy smokes. Folks said this was the best breakfast in Sutter Creek, this is one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Their Benny is top notch the unique mix of textures and flavors. Love it. We'll be back as often as possible.

Delicious, cute little brunch place on the main street of Sutter Creek. We got the french toast, eggs Benedict, and a side of sausage. The french toast was delicious with the fresh fruit and the syrup comes with a candle and holder to keep it warm and it was a nice touch to have warm, fresh syrup. The eggs Benedict was good, nothing to call home about but I would still order it again if I went back. Service was friendly and attentive.

Excellent restaurant in quaint Sutter Creek, CA. Excellent food quality and quantity. Pork chop on Special of the day menu was excellent. Large serving with a spinach based side that was out of this world. Small bar and connected to an inn.

Our regular book club joint! Always fresh and exciting options, I look forward to our monthly visit to see what's new and interesting on the menu. Admittedly, I often mourn the specials that have dropped off the menu. Service is friendly. Bright atmosphere, large windows. Can be a bit noisy and DEFINITELY get a reservation on weekends!

I come here often with friends for a ladies brunch or birthday brunch- Element never disappoints. The owner along with the staff members are always so friendly! Brunch is so delish and well balanced and their Bloody Mary's are AMAZING! Come early so you can savor the flavors because they close by 1pm.

Fantastic food, I mean, delicious! We had 2 appetizers, 5 entrees and a few drinks. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. Can't wait to go back.

We had a DELICIOUS meal at Element! The drinks were refreshing and creative, and we shared the soup of the moment (carrot ginger 😍), fantastic burger and awesome Chaco Taco ice cream dessert. We’re still thinking about the high quality flavors and ingredients days later, and we’re so grateful and impressed by Tresa’s kindness and attentive service. Didn’t have a reservation, but they were able to squeeze us in at 5pm!

Element - one of my favorite restaurants for breakfast and dinner! The staff is by far one of the friendliest in all of Amador, and always go above & beyond to make each visit full of good food and laughter. If you haven’t dropped in - you should! The cocktails are amazing and the wine list is filled with local favorites. I would suggest coming on a Wednesday night where they offer Wine deals, but every day they are open is a good day to go.

I love the Element! I have visited over a dozen times and have never been disappointed. The food is on target, the drinks are exciting and inventive, and the service is friendly, professional and feel like coming over to a friend’s home for a meal. Vanessa is one of our favorites, with her ease she makes sure every part of your experience is seamless with her funny, witty banter, and chill energy. You’re new best friend for the next few hours. Don’t miss out on this location if you’re just rolling through town on a long weekend.

6 of us dined on a Saturday night at the recommendation of friends. We were not disappointed. After wine tasting at Yorba next door (also a great experience!), Element accommodated our reservation early. Service was very good, and nothing left to chance. Cocktails were all nicely crafted and the entrees were tasty and well imagined. We'll definitely be returning!

This place is nicely decorated. Located in a really cute old west town of Sutter. The service was great. We got there around 9:50 am. Did not have to wait to be seated. The food was good, but not superb. My Benedict eggs were ok but missed a bit on flavor. The breakfast burrito was dried. Coffee was solid. I would go back to try their lunch and dinner menu. In general good alternative in the area. Some room for improvement, though.

The menu and food were very nicely prepared and presented. The Summer spritzer cocktail was just right. The Service providers were excellent, however I downgraded my review over two pieces of toast. We found that there wasn't enough bread on the mezze for enjoying all the items on the platter, so we asked for more bread, we were provided two more pieces, which was just the right amount, however when getting our check I was shocked we were charged for this bread.. Come on??? First we were not advised we'd be charged and secondly, how ludicrous to charge for two pieces of toast. When I questioned it, the server removed the charge, so thank you to the server for doing that and thank you to management for empowering the server to be able to do that. But Really??? Chef and management, you work so hard on every detail of the cuisine and the guest experience, why risk it all over two pieces of toast?

We visited a strange little town that closes midday, and consequently did some window shopping. We stopped into a bar that had a sign outside advertising live music. The Elvis impersonator behind the bar had a personality deficit and didn’t want to serve us, so we ultimately found ourselves at Element. This place doesn’t seem to belong in this backwards town. It is bright, clean and inviting. The bar makes lovely drinks and the staff is very friendly. The food was pretty good. But our server, Vanessa F was wonderful. She made us feel right at home. If we come back, it will be because of her.

Nice restaurant, pleasant atmosphere and great menu. Definitely something different than the usual. Interesting cocktail menu served up by a great bartender. The food was very nice, good portions, not too big or too small. The only thing that let this restaurant down was the server, rather irritating and more focused on herself than getting your order correct. The appetizer arrived after the entrée which she blamed the kitchen for. Also one of the entrées was wrong because when we both changed our orders she chose to ignore one of our requests. Saying all that, we would definitely go back, just request a different server, it's worth giving another try.

As a local, was looking forward to this reopening. Mediocre overall experience. Service missed the mark slightly, but the waitress was friendly. Our sous vide pork chop was overcooked (!?), same with our halibut. Still tasty, but room for improvement. They served us the butt slices of tomatoes for our burrata, and we did not get a full ball of cheese like one normally would for this dish, just a few slices. We'll be back again to reevaluate. Hopefully the food will be better.

We walked in the door and upon arrival we're not greeted by anyone. We stood at what appeard to be a hostess area. After waiting almost 10 min I ask the bartender for some help and she comes around the bar to seat us. Food was nothing special...oh execpt I order 2 egg whites and they charged me $2 extra to separate the you from the white ..$6 for 2 egg whites..crazy! Don't think we will be returning. BTW Bloody Mary's are now $9.50!

D
Donnie Fowler

Nice spot, really busy so call ahead for reservations. Bartender was pretty good , made a great bloody Mary for me and others in my group. But 8.75 for a bloody Mary seems a bit high, when most places sell bottomless bloody Mary for 15 bucks. But it was pretty damn good. Hostess / manager could sharpen her people skills a bit. Has to remember the very first person people talk to when they walk into a restaurant is the hostess so you have to greet people with a good attitude , but all in all I will definitely be back. Great atmosphere and location.

This is a tough one for me because this was my favorite place for a very long time, even after the new owners took over. But the last two visits have me very disappointed. When a chef points to the fresh radishes on your plate and tells you they didn't forget the pickled onions, they are there - it makes you question whether they actually don't know the difference between a radish and an onion or they think you're stupid enough not to know. My husband's potatoes were dry and tasted like they were air fried. The vegan bowl was tasty but filled with mostly black beans. The bacon, that was one of our favorites, now tastes like sweetened cardboard. It saddens me that my favorite place will no longer be on my calendar for a very long time.

Well my family was turned away today at 11:45 a.m. for brunch. They were surprised that brunch and at noon rather than like 1:00 or 2:00. The people there were a little bit rude, making my family feel a little unwelcome. But right down the road is the imperial serving brunch until 3:00 on sundays! There's always somebody willing to take your business and smile. I don't think we'll be going back to element.

The custom drinks were great. The restaurant was clean, with a modern atmosphere. The food was a HUGE disappointment. We had shrimp and grits and brined chicken. Both were flavorless and bland. The waitress was attentive at first but then ignored us, so my husband had to get up from the table to reorder cocktails. The Beignets were dense and reminded us of deep-fried Bisquick.. Overall, it's a real disappointment, especially for the price.

Went for dinner. Had high expectations based on memories of great food pre-Covid, but Element seems to have been closed much of the time since then. Pros: great custom drinks, clean, modern atmosphere. Cons: we had Shrimp and Grits and Brined Chicken. Both relatively flavorless…..blandness bordering on hospital food. Waitress was so engaged washing the front door window she ignored us - I had to get up from table to reorder cocktails. Dessert: Affogato was good, Beignets reminded us of deep fried Bisquick.. Overall a real disappointment, especially for the price.

Their website states the restaurant serves breakfast on Thursday from 8-noon. When I arrived at 11 AM the hostess told me abruptly that they stop serving at 11...it was 11, so she could have seated us, but no. When I pointed out that the hours online say breakfast is served until 12 she shrugged it off and said she'd tell "them" to fix it. I used to enjoy this place and was excited it reopened, but after driving more than an hour to eat here and being indifferently dismissed and shooed away, all I can say is Element was terribly disappointing.

C
Colleen OBrien

This place looks likexan upscale restaurant. Sorry to say it's NOT. I am gluten intolerant. There menu shows meat and, potatoes Gluten free. I ordered it they told me they would omit the fries? What fries not mashed potatoes? No they don't have mashed potatoes? I ordered my steak between medium rare and medium. It was between rare and medium closer to rare. So I didn't get dinner at $38.00. We asked to speak to the manager. She works M-F. We asked if she could call us. Was told NO! Well my advice don't eat here. It is a dive not fine dining. The Sutter Hotel would be a better choice. This place is priced for fine dining but lacks a lot. Never heard of fries with a steak for dinner at fine dining. Maybe with a hamburger? Don't eat here.
