Q'Tal Bar & Grill

I can’t say enough about how much I love this place! It’s a bit of a trek for me, but every time I come, it’s absolutely worth it. From the excellent customer service and spotless cleanliness to the fun cocktails, inviting ambiance, and—best of all—the food! Don’t miss the filet mignon appetizer, the short rib croquettes, and the crab meat au gratin—just wow! All the meats are excellent, and my latest try, the shrimp risotto, was to die for. Parking can be a little tricky, but trust me, it’s well worth the visit!

I've been two Q'tal twice and both times it was excellent. The atmosphere is solid and the service is attentive. Their cocktails are very smooth and flavorful- I had the Purple Rain and the Eau De Lavender (the mocktails are good too, I had the Lady Bird which was wonderful.) As for the food - no matter what you get it will be good. The standouts have been any meat/steak item but their Risotto with crab meat and shrimp was also great. This place is a real gem tucked between Kearny and Harrison, couldn't recommend it more.

This restaurant is always amazing. The food is always exquisite and I love the atmosphere, with lower lights making it the perfect place for a quiet dinner or a nice date. I come back everytime I am around Kearny.

What a lovely place. You can tell they took their time to create an austhetically beautiful restaurant. Love the decor and furnishings. Amazing cocktails. I loved everything I ordered haha The waiters were sweethearts. My cousin and I had a great time. Definitely coming back!

Very good menu with fair prices, excellent cocktails. High quality ingredients. Bacon clothesline app was awesome. They have a small parking lot on the corner of the street

We went during the labor day weekend. Not too many costumers. The service is very good and they have great cocktails! The foods are on the pricier side but totally worth it. The outdoor seating is nice too. Will come back.

Very upscale Bar & Restaurant, the food was really good, the drinks were on point & vibe (ambience) was very very nice, service was great, prices were reasonable, I'll definitely be going back.

Me and a friend planned to meet here for dinner and drinks. I made reservations via telephone. When I arrived I was lucky to find parking right by the restaurant, because parking is bad in that area. When I walked in I was greeted by the manager and asked if I had reservations. I told her yes and she sat us down. We were served by Rae and she was awesome and very attentive. We started with bread and boy this has got to be the best bread basket. It was fresh and soft and hot. It was so tasty. We also ordered a pitcher of sangria and it was very good. For our appetizers we got impossible sliders and it was very tasty. I thought it was meat at first but it was seasoned so well I couldn't tell it was vegan. For our entrées I got the vegan gnocchi bolognese and my friend got the shrimp bolognese. Everything was sooooo good. The bill came to about $98. This was a great experience and I will be back.

What an absolutely great experience! Everything was perfect from the apps (which we ate to quickly to take pics) to the main course….. we ended up just sharing 4 plates and complained about NONE! Service was awesome from Luciana and the bartender brought me my drink with a cheers. My birthday dinner was perfect. Thank you to everyone from Qtal

We dined here to celebrate my friends birthday the service was exceptional and the food was amazing. Everything was timed appropriately and we weren’t rushed. I would really recommend the seafood risotto you will not be disappointed!

The best filet mignon with mushroom I’ve had in a long while. Especially so close to home! It was love at first bite. And their truffle fries were perfection. Cannot wait to try the beautiful octopus I’ve been seeing. The server at the bar was so sweet and told us about the happy hour my husband and I who have been out on a date for a bit since the birth of our babies. We forgot what a happy hour was.

What a lovely place with amazing food and probably one of the best service I experienced. Our server Mayara (I hope I got her name right) was exceptional. It definitely showed she’s a people person and very wholesome. She ran through the menu and offered great suggestions which we ended up loving. The space is very clean and modern and coming in you’ll get a couple of 2 ppl tables and a nice blue light bar. There’s a wall separating two spaces so on the other side there’s a bigger room where they started playing live music. I imagine The separation is great to make one space very bar - ish while still giving the other that restaurant feel. We had the jackfruit croquettes (vegan) and absolutely banging! And the star of the night was the crab and shrimp dip with cracker which was such a treat to have. Very creamy and served warm. We also shared the Salmon with passionfruit sauce and mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes was absolutely smooth and velvety and so delicious. The broccolini was a nice crunchy mix-in and gave a good clean balance to the dish while the roasted tomatoes gave a slight tart. I wish the passionfruit tartness was played out better in this dish I think they could do better. the presentations of each dish was beautiful so big kudos to the kitchen staff. We ended the night with the chocolate molten cake and the added almond crunch was a nice touch along with the vanilla ice cream. The cake itself was a tad over cooked but that’s an overall common error in molten cakes. So no foul there. The drinks could overall be better I think presentation wise they are beautiful. We loved 1 of the 2 drinks we had. Enamorados was amazing while the purple rain lacked some complexity. Another big point was the house made bread. A very good portion was offered along with butter, dipping oil and olives

First time at Q’tal did not disappoint! Atmosphere is classy, elegant, and good vibes. The music is modern and enjoyable. Servers are pleasant and serve you with a smile on their face! I got the grilled shrimp (on the specials) which was served over Parmesan sauce with vegetables, mushrooms, and nuts. It was phenomenal and the cocktails are tasty and refreshing. 10/10 would recommend can not wait to come back for a future event!

My family celebrated our mother's 70th birthday and I have to truly thank Lucy for her phenomal service. She made us all feel comfortable and so attentive to all we needed. The staff was so kind, courteous, gave exceptional service. This establishment is truly one of a kind. The food is too notch, so tasty, well cooked just as we asked. I am so thankful for all you did for us. The experience was so memorable. Thank you for everything. We will definitely see you all again.

Great food and service. Would highly recommend but for special occasions not an everyday place to eat since it is a bit on the higher end scale so I recommend for date night and special occasions. The food and drinks were amazing and I don’t believe you can go wrong with any options that they offer. The have a vast selection of wines and different cocktails so it will definitely make for a memorable night.

Loved it here! Always passed by but finally stopped in. Came in on a weekday and it was relaxing. Food decor is perfect for instagram. We ordered a few different appetizers. The crab stuffed clams are a must! We also ordered the fish soup. Definitely will come back! Was told there is a patio for the summer time.

This place is on par with any NYC restaurant/bar and kudos go to the chef bartenders and management for superb menu and decoration of the place. Definitely a place to savor a meal with a great selection of drinks. Well done and great service. Highly recommendable.

Food is top notch, brilliantly plated and delicious. I have posted pics of some starters that we had. We also had the duck, the codfish and lamb chops. All excellent. A bit pricey, but it's worth it.

We had and early Dinner the staff is so helpful and Kind we had Deborah and Luis taking care of us when it came to any food requests and the Bartender Rafaela top notch when making the drinks she is an A+++ knows her stuff, we had a great time and I will definitely be back.

Exceeded all expectations! A new favorite. My parents, my wife, and I had a fantastic dinner here tonight. This place is a gem and completely exceeded our expectations. Our waitress and bartender, Rafaella, was incredible. She crafted seven different cocktails for our group, and every single one was a work of art—the perfect mix of flavor and liquor. We shared two appetizers, one entree, and two desserts. Every dish was a standout; delicious and left us wanting more. Rafaella was also incredibly helpful and provided friendly, respectful service throughout the night. This restaurant is definitely worth a drive of over 30 minutes, and with a decent-sized parking lot, you don't have to worry about parking. We're already planning our next visit for brunch!

I met up with some girlfriends for happy hour here last night. The drink specials were great and so were the appetizers. We were hungry so we ended up getting entrees that were also delicious. The ambiance was perfect. The staff and the manager were super friendly. We'll definitely be going back!

Excellent restaurant. Anyone that you bring here is guaranteed to be impressed by the food. It's initially unassuming from the outside and when you first walk in as you're greeted with the high-top/bar entry room. There's a formal dining room next door and a gorgeous patio in the back when the weather permits. This truly creates a space for any type of setting, whether it be a casual catch up with a friend, a romantic date night, a fun girls night, etc. We're always greeted with smiles and happy energy and always felt welcomed. The drinks are impeccable. Very well balanced and strong without being too overpowering. Everything we've ever ordered off the apps and dinner menu has been outstanding. Highly recommend the octopus. It's a meaty portion and super tender. Angus sliders are also worth noting. Don't be fooled; the apps look small, but they are dense and delicious. This has been by far my favorite place to order a classic short rib entree. It's beautifully presented, tender, and packs a flavor punch. The skirt steak is also another hit. As much as I love exploring new restaurants and cuisines, this is just one of those establishments that I find myself coming back to, especially when I'm spending $$$ on quality food. While the items can be pricey, I think it's totally worth it when you're looking for a nice night out.

Great food and good service. Olives to start are amazing with there bread. Crab cake could have been cooked a bit harder as the inside was a bit loose. The cheese and steak was amazing. Cheese sauce could also be a bit thicker. It's a beautiful place

Beautiful restaurant with elegant finishes and excellent food. I personally Congratulated the chef for his menu! Wow😋😋 top quality. The bartenders were great and friendly, the music was tasteful, the ambience was relaxing and sophisticated. Felt great! I had the duck and my fiancé had the Brasilian fish- just finger licking good!! The caipirinha was almost made to perfection as it had a bit too much ice but the second rounds after requesting not so much ice were perfect. Live music after 8-9pm on Friday night. Just few things kept them from getting 5 stars: 1. Food was delicious and definitely worth it, but it took a bit too long. However excellent food!! 2. The place is very small - like only for up to 4 top 6 people per table. Not for large groups at all. 3. Parking is tight. 4. Totally Worth it! But in the high price side per person. Avg $25 per plate. $12 per cocktail. Other than that, I highly recommend this restaurant and we will return for sure!

The food was great, I have to admit it was very good. The service and environment was amazing. I definitely enjoyed myself when I visited with my wife.

Generally the food was pretty good. I really liked the feijoada. The non-feijoada dishes were not as fillling. The food prices are kind of high for Kearney. The cocktails seemed very reasonably priced. It might be better to come here for lunch or for drinks and appetizers. the restaurant adds 20% tip automatically regardless of a party size of 2 but doesn’t show the itemized when they add the tip, making it confusing.

I went to Q’Tal a few years ago and thought it was excellent, so when a few friends came to town and asked for a recommendation, this is the place I mentioned. We ordered online and had several issues. One of my friends has allergies and while there was a place online to indicate allergies, you couldn’t input what those allergies were. We called right away and told them what the allergies were and they said there was no problem, they would talk to the kitchen. One of the allergies we mentioned was bacon. The potatoes we ordered clearly had bacon on them. Both of our steaks were over cooked (we are for medium and medium rare). With the salmon we ordered it with asparagus and yam puree and it came with broccolini and mashed potatoes. All of the entrees were subpar and lacking salt. The two salads we ordered were quite good, as was the dulce de leche crème brûlée. But for the price we paid the meal was not worth it.

I was not very happy with my experience dining here, but at least there were a few pluses. To start, we were seated pretty quickly which was nice; I got the Shrimp Mac, and my friend got the half roasted chicken. While I was not too happy with the portion of Mac N cheese, it did taste alright. There was not really that much shrimp, but I appreciate the fact that they took the tails off. I can’t stand when places leave the tails on the shrimp in any circumstance. I would rate it as overall okay, but the Mac had no panco bread crumbs on it. The menu states that it includes this, and in the picture, this is what it looked like before my first bite. As you can see, no bread crumbs. What they did do right was the bread with the assorted dips. This was actually the best part of my meal; keep serving that ricotta with the bread as it is delicious, unfortunately bread and dip is not enough to get me to come back. The main issue with this restaurant does not start with the food, but the service. This is some of the worst service I received in a while at a restaurant. I had to call the server over after a while just to get our drink orders in. It was not even that I was running out of patience, but I was really thirsty and it should not have taken this long. After ordering the drinks, it took so long for them to bring that I had to remind them. They brought out the drinks finally, and that is when we ordered our food because I was not letting them leave again for another wait. You guessed it, the food took forever to come out. I look at the tables around me and see that people who came in after me are getting services first, and there were like 3 birthdays in the outside area which probably delayed the service. Eventually I was getting tired of clapping and wanted to go back to this place doing regular restaurant services. I know I sound like a grouch, but I am all for birthday celebrations. Enjoy yourselves but the staff should not forget about the customers around the beloved birthday people. We also are humans who are there to eat and drink; we came there with a purpose too. If people want private birthday service, they should reserve the restaurant for themselves because we completely felt forgotten. When the food FINALLY came out, I said we want the check right away because I knew that was taking forever as well. Of course in the instance where I received the worst service I can recall for months, they add their own gratuity tip. Oh don’t flatter yourselves please.... That was just the icing on this unpleasant cake known as my dinner. The food was not bad, but I do believe my food should have included all of the elements on the menu. They also charge 3:50 for soda and did not do free refills. I had to ration my soda throughout the meal especially since it took the food three times as long to arrive as it took for me to eat it. I was disappointed; this was definitely a failed dinner and I doubt we will be returning.
