Opiniones de Lookout Cafe Lake George
Great food. Great atmosphere and service. Perfect evening looking out at the lake.
Marie was amazing the minute we entered the restaurant with our German shepherd. She welcomed us and quickly bright Arya water. One of the cooks came out to welcome us and see our dog. The waiter was so polite and very quick to bring drinks and the food. He was from Turkey and his name began with A. The fish and chips werethe best I’ve had since living in Maine. My husband got the Buffalo wrap and that was so delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The view was awesome too. Five stars for sure!
We've been coming to lake George for years and we love the lookout! Tonight they let my brother and I make our own burger challenge. a 2 pound burger the "Mossey quatro" we told them they should absolutely start a legit burger challenge. And put it on the menu. Thanks for having us and we loved watching the fireworks too! You guys are awesome
Taylor was one of the best servers we’ve ever had. She was so much fun. The food was great and so much of it. The spiked cold brew was awesome.
I like that everything they serve food in is disposable, it faces the lake, right next to the Fort, the Steamboat, beach and other restaurants and bars. Prime location, and drinks are decent. The waitresses are great, I went twice and was very pleased with the girls. Bathroom could be better/bigger.
I usually don't start my reviews with a negative perspective, but my experience at the The Lookout Cafe on 7/12/23 was dampened by our hostess Greta. She appeared to be unhappy in greeting customers as well as not saying thank you for coming to customers when they left. Aside from that, the rest of the service was great, as our server Liam was helpful and friendly towards us and answered any questions we had pertaining to the food. I came for lunch and I ordered the Still Bay fish and chips, which was a fried, beer-battered haddock, which was tender and moist. The "chips" were fries, and they were flavorful. I also had ginger ale to drink with the meal.
Went here the first weekend of October. Went around 4p on a Sunday so it was not so busy. Had a wonderful view overlooking the south side of Lake George as the sun settled for the evening. Basic food items, but very tasty. Fast service, friendly and kind staff. I had the buffalo chicken wrap with a side Caesar salad and it was perfect. My mother ordered the 1755 burger and it was cooked to perfection. The onion rings were probably the best onion rings I’ve ever had!! The burger comes with burger sauce that my mother asked for on the side and became a great dipping sauce for the rings. The po boy sandwich is served circular like a burger, on bun. My partner didn’t realize that until it came to the table despite what the menu said (and it clearly said that). Despite his frustration with himself, he turned out to love it!! You got a bite of shrimp in every bite unlike traditional po boy sandwiches. Not featured in the photos was chips salsa and guacamole as an appetizer. The guac was fresh and seasoned quite well. Would come back here as prices were reasonable and the food was good.
Initially we were going to skip this spot because there are other, higher rated restaurants in the area-I'm glad we didn't. We were seated right away (it wasn't busy) and with a great view of the lake. Within 5 minutes of being seated, we were welcomed and shortly after, had our drinks and our dinner ordered. The food arrived quickly, and every one of the five different meals we ordered was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. This a great spot for a simple bite and a good view. The staff was friendly and the meal was fairly priced for the quality and service. I definitely recommend Lookout if you're looking for an uncomplicated plate of good food.
Stopped for dinner before taking cruise. Food was decent bar quality except burgers. They were excellent quality and size. Drinks were priced appropriately for it being a tourist spot. Cans, bottles and larger bar menu. Was able to seat 10 and were charged 20% fee for having 6 or more. It was hot out and little to no air flow made it almost unbearable. Server was only on her second day but did great. Beautiful views of the lake and good proximity to boat charters and beach. Worth the stop.
Waitress was great, attentive, but not overly so. The burger was the best I have had in a long time - which is what they claim 'best burger in town.' I wish the onion rings had been hot. The view was wonderful - looking out over the lake. Super sunny day, not rushed. I sat and drank a glass of wine, enjoying the last day of summer. Will be back.
Lookout Cafe is situated at 28 Beach Road, above some gift shops and next to Fort William Henry, overlooking Lake George and the Steamboat company's departure area. The scenery is idyllic and beautiful. The restaurant serves various fast food choices, including burgers, lobster rolls etc. I tried their cold mayo lobster roll, it was fresh and delicious. There are only two small and dirty restrooms available for a restaurant with a capacity of over 100 patrons. Overall, it is a great location with decent food. The place could use more TLC.
Lookout Cafe is one of our go to spots for a quick meal when in Lake George. We ate here twice during our recent stay in Lake George. Food was good as always, with the notable exception of the macaroni and cheese (off the kids menu). Don't get the macaroni and cheese, really. Everything else was very good. The views of the lake are beautiful, and the service was good.
We decided to try Rooftop since we were looking for a place for small bites. When we arrived at the restaurant, there were lots of people in line. We had a party of 12 in front of us, but they were excused by the receptionist due shortage of staff. The restaurant has a beautiful front view of the lake, but it can still use some lights and brightness when the weather is dark and gloomy outside. The food is prepared in very basic way in this restaurant and desperately needs some uplifting. The chowder wasn't creamy, felt watery, the crispy layer of the fish, in fish n chips, had no taste or flavor. The fries that came with this dish, were blent and tasteless. The hot dog was a basic bread and a hot dog paddy, though it was the best thing I tasted there. The mac and cheese could certainly use some more cheese. The fries with hot and mac & cheese were totally disappointed and tasted much better. The service was extremely friendly, prices are decent but the restaurant totally lacks in it's primary objective of serving good food. Food taste - 3/5 Food prep time - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Price - $$& Chowder soup - 2/5 Fish and chips - 1/5 Hot dog - 4/5 Mac and cheese - 3/5
Nice view of the lake. Good service. Tasty French fries. The lettuce on my salad was past its prime, soggy and wilted, as if it had made hours before and waiting on a chiller. The pulled pork was, sacrilegiously dry, again, as if it had been sitting around on a warming tray. It’s a busy place and we didn’t eat lunch until 2pm. Maybe that explains it.
Took my family out for dinner who came to visit from Florida told them how Great Lake George and the atmosphere was ,, it did not feel so good when we sat down to eat at lookout bar and grill our waiter/ hostess Robyn was so unpleasant through the whole time we sat there to eat until we finished . Not one smile or calming demeanor from her meanwhile the other girls were so friendly and nice . Even when we walked out of the restaurant we passed right by her standing with the other girls ,, the other girls smiled and said goodbye she looked down and never said a word … may be e my skin color offended her but it’s so sad to brag about lake George the restaurants that we have been coming to for over 15 years and be embarked after even bringing visitors their .
Food was average. Got ignored by our server who was standing talking in the corner the whole time. Had to have another staff member get her attention, twice! We also had a bug in our drink and her response was that “ we’re outside, it’s just an ant, it happens”. Do not recommend at all.
