I almost feel sorry for folks not getting the Pulled Pork Loaded Nachos!! I can’t say enough about how delicious these are!
Best BBQ in town. Potato salad, BBQ nachos, ribs, brisket, baked potatoes, etc….are all top notch. Highly recommend.
This place is amazing!! Absolutely fantastic food, friendly work staff, just all out great for a dine in or carry out experience! If you ain't stopped, you don't know what you're missing!!
Best BBQ you will ever eat! Bar none! And very reasonably priced! Friendly staff! Clean establishment! Fast service!
The restaurant on Markham was chosen. I had lean brisket, beans, cole slaw, and potato salad—all items were delicious. The brisket was chopped and very lean, the beans were just the right taste with a tangy bar-b-que kick. The cole slaw and potato salad had a nice, smooth, creamy taste which was a counter balance to the bar-b-que one—just right! All went well together and were satisfying to my appetite. The restaurant had a mixed group of patrons—young and old. It was quiet, and it was family oriented and very clean. I enjoyed my dining experience and will return soon. Staff were professional and answered questions about the food well as they listened to each patron. Thank you.
This is one of our family’s favorite places to eat out. Their smoked meats are excellent and very tender. They offer 6 different flavors of barbecue sauce. They have a good variety of plates and dishes from which to choose. Their potato salad and barbecue beans are delicious. My husband really likes their slaw. The staff is very friendly.
Our first visit was very good and we will be back, the service was fast and professional. Wow at the ribs, I can always find the words but I’m at a loss and just wanted more of them. Excellent and they weren’t slathered in sauce, it was just the right amount. Loved the brisket and Mac n cheese. Thanks again for an excellent diner, if you’ve not visited Whole Hog Cafe then you haven’t had the best.
Craving BBQ today and it didn't disappoint! So good, lots of sauce options, sides, and desserts. From their pulled pork to their brisket you cannot go wrong. My child really likes the pulled chicken, Mac and cheese and beans. Large space great for large groups, kid friendly, multiple locations. Also a wonderful place to order for holiday meals or get catered for work functions! The employees could not be any nicer!! 🤩
People definitely make all the difference when you visit a new restaurant. Olivia was our ambassador when we placed our order. We ordered a brisket platter for two. We enjoyed the food; it wasn't too fat and had great flavor. Thank you, Olivia!!!
TL;DR: This is fast food BBQ. Portions are larger than expected and the smokiness is very light (not necessarily a good thing). I personally like my meat smoked til you can't taste the meat anymore. That said, it was cooked well, and tasted good with what I had. I tried the BBQ Nachos. Easily enough food for 2 people. There's more cheese than meat. My wife had Hog Fries with chicken. The chicken is moist and shredded. You can taste the chicken over any other flavors (not my thing). They have an array of 7 sauces with fairly different tastes, but nothing that quite did it for me. They also have large drinks in plastic cups which give a portion of the proceeds to some veterans charity. Overall it's what I'd expect from fast food BBQ without being anything less.
The service and the place are pretty good, a little old school but nice and clean! The food is decent enough but not really good for a BBQ place that is well known around Arkansas! I order the Hog Platter, it comes with BBQ ribs and a choice of two other meats and two sides ! Definitely a good portion of food , I choose the house salad which is delicious and fresh, and the potato salad needs an improvement! The ribs are good but they are a little dry , they didn’t fall off the bone like I was expecting them! The brisket was fresh and sliced really good but again not enough flavor, the best thing on the plate was the jalapeño sausage, it has a good combination of flavor. They have a good variety of BBQ sauce I choose the spicy and Volcano, the Volcano is really good and spicy!
Not as busy as Google claimed. Good thing too because it was a lunch break. I’ll keep it brief. Food 3/5, claiming the “World Champion,” I’m not being tuff. This just wasn’t the best BBQ. It was good, probably won’t make a special trip to eat here again. Restaurant was clean. Bathrooms were clean. When the Hostess said the “best” depends on the day, she meant it. 😂
The quality was previously exemplary; however, I experienced disappointment during my recent visit after a prolonged period. The ribs were excessively tough and lacked flavor. Conversely, the pulled pork was tender and quite pleasurable. Our visit occurred early in the evening, and the establishment was notably unoccupied. Additionally, ample parking was available, facilitating easy access.
I don't know if they were having an off day or what but I ordered the BBQ nachos with smoked chicken on them and the few pieces of chicken were dark meat like off of a leg that was slimy...on nachos. The whole thing was drowned in canned fake cheese sauce. Disgusting. My daughter had mashed potatoes and there were still granules from the instant potatoes that were all around the top of the bowl. Her mac & cheese was complete mush as if it had been frozen and reheated more than once. I will not be back to this location.
I love barbecue a brisket sandwich with coleslaw on it is my favorite. This is what I ordered and it was my very first time and my last. For $18.49 the cashier who took me and my husband's order did not greet us we greeted her. Still trying to remain positive I still chose to eat here, i got my food 5 minutws after ordering my chopped brisket was very cold I asked for another one and it was cold. I am omw home rn to warm up in the air fryer. I will never eat here again first and last time for 18.49 I would rather spend that money on a number 4 at McDonald's and I don't even eat there.
I've been going to Whole Hog for well over 15 years, and I've always recommended it to people who visit town. I hadn't had it in about a year and ordered the ribs today. Worst ribs I've ever had. Tougher than a 2 day old pork chop and had to use a knife to seperate the ribs (which it struggled to do.) Flavor was lacking, ribs were tough as shoe leather, and dry. Don't go there looking for good BBQ. That being said, the potato salad is still the best in town, and staff is still friendly.
This used to be the best bbq in town. Sadly it isnt anymore. The beef brisket was super salty like it had sat all day in a warmer. Not fresh at all. Fries were cold/dry, and i think came out of a freezer at kroger. They also got my order wrong. Wont be eating here anytime soon..
This isn’t real BBQ! None of the meats were actual smoky tasting, no smoke ring visible, tasted more like boiled brisket, and old roasted pork. Terrible excuse for barbecue!! Waste of $72. Please do NOT eat here, unless you want bland, dry, tasteless food. We tried 4 different meat items, and none were good, not qualified as “barbecue”. If the bbq is good and authentic you don’t need 6 different types of bbq sauce. They offer 6 kinds of bbq sauce at each table. I suppose it’s to disguise the flavor of the meats. Also, the collard greens had very little seasoning, and the coleslaw wasn’t creamy at all. We all agreed it was the WORST BBQ we’ve ever had.
This place is bad. Ate here while in the area for work. The only thing I can think of that the people of Arkansas don’t realize there is way better bbq out there. My roast beef aka brisket 😬 was cold, the ribs were pathetic and not even cut. The Mac and cheese was out of a bag oh and the fries were cold as well. I should have known when I ordered and asked for white meat chicken was told they couldn’t accommodate that. Not sure why locals love this place but if you’re not from here don’t waste your time eating here you’ll be disappointed unless you don’t like good bbq.
