I'm preparing to join the Local 3 IBEW A-Program in 2024. I'm 4th generation. I should have gone directly into the union after high-schools, but "I wanted to see what else is out there" and here I am turning 40 this year now realizing the life-long benefit of being a part of Local 3.

My husband is a A Journeyman, you cannot beat it. Great career, training, free college. Anyone that complain about it is a child or complacent. You can make more here in 6 months than most jobs in a year. Be Proactive

I like to visit the halls when I’m traveling for vacation. I collect stickers and t shirts. At this local I called before I went and they told me that didn’t have t shirts and that the stickers only give it at the meetings. I heard from other members out of this local not good things and that’s why I called instead just going and loos three hours of my time during my vacations.

One of their employes was making incetuous comments and harassing people online and when it was brought to their concern, they simply blocked the person bringing the screenshot on instagram. Says everything we need to know about these people.

When it comes to retired or disabled Local 3 members. Local 3 doesn't even help their members with the cost of living. Meanwhile I notice other Unions make sure their retired and disabled members are keeping food on the table.

I work for a physician's office and the customer service is terrible when we call. The representatives just shift the calls around to the next person and no one wants to take accountability or explain who is actually responsible for what. The representative Patricia B. that I spoke to is rude and unprofessional.

Find work elsewhere 10 outta 10 do not recommend!!!!

Being in local 3 has the absolute worst experience I have ever had. The ONLY thing about this union that is remotely good, is the inexpensive medical benefits. Annette Diaz and Richard Duva are unresponsive and in my opinion, lazy. My husband and I put in multiple calls to them to discuss a grievance and we were brushed off with absolutely no care at all. Weeks later I received a letter in the mail from Rich stating that he wouldn’t take my calls because my husband was the member with the grievance, when in fact, the only reason I was calling was because he wasn’t answering my husband’s calls and emails. They didn’t fight for us or look into anything that we asked. HORRIBLE! My workplace also has multiple other grievances filed that have not been addressed and other members are starting to speak out about the lack of support. I would never join local 3 ever again, given the opportunity.

this is local 3? It’s embarrassing. I came up here for a wedding decided to swing by and get a tshirt, the lady told me a vendor sells them one day a month….what?! I bought 2 ibew triple 6 shirts to maybe trade or give away, my hall gave me tons of pencils and stickers to take with me, I gave the lady everything I had and walked out with a single local 3 sticker. I am so disappointed. The lady was great, nothing she could do but local 3 is more than a hundred yrs old, ny is one of the most visited places on earth and you can’t bring yourselves to sell tshirts to visiting ibew members? This local should be ashamed. Seriously.
