Opiniones de Lalibela Ethiopian Los Angeles
First time trying Ethiopian food and this place did such a wonderful job that I want to try more! Were to start, it’s very flavorful food using a variety of spices that provide new and unique flavors that everyone should experience. We got a the main platter just to try a little of everything and it was all fantastic. Service was also very nice and explained in a friendly way the proper way to eat the dishes they prepared, great for people not familiar with this type of food. Would return 10/10
The taste of the spices were good. I wasn’t a fan of the texture of the beef. The prices were reasonable. The smoothie wasn’t great. I’m still giving it 5 stars because the service was great and I think it would be great if we knew exactly what to order.
It was great! Seems like a to-go heavy location as the dining room for lunch was very open. Muna took good care of us. Helped with recommendations and is very nice. It does seem light on staff so be patient while waiting to be seated, maybe all hands on deck in kitchen for packing. Very clean and pretty bathroom! Free 2hr Parking is plentiful a block away. The decor feels authentic and atmospheric if a little worn but very appropriate and good. A very fun and mellow adventure.
An excellent option if you are looking for traditional Ethiopian food. Their shakes of mango and avocado are great!
Slow service, but the food is absolutely delicious. If you’re with a great group of friends or family, the time will pass quickly and you won’t even mind the wait. Highly recommend!
Delicious & beautiful sampler platter served in such a welcome setting with lovely crisp table cloths. The place was nice and clean and service was wonderful with an attentive lady who came to explain the selections to us. First visit for my elderly mom who loved it!
Getting a little of everything was more than enough for 3 people. It was just the fuel we needed after spending more of the day at the museum.
Absolutely delicious food, great for sharing. The bread that everything comes with is phenomenal. Highly recommend the Doro Wat.
Amazing food, fair prices and a great place for vegans and vegetarians. Lots of traditionally vegan and vegetarian dishes (lentils, chickpeas, etc.) as well as some vegan-ified options. The menu is clearly labeled, too. We (2) shared the lentil sambusa and veggie utopia, and I had the avocado drink (not vegan) while my partner had the Tej — which they said is some of the best they've had. I also thought the space was really nice, with a lot of natural light and high ceilings. 0:)
Their service is extremely slow. We waited a solid hour for the food, and can rarely grab a waitress for help. I can smell strong smokes indoor, not good for kids. Most ridiculously, we have to add $7 if we want to share the foods.
My Ethiopian friend recommended this spot and it did not disappoint! As a vegetarian, their menu catered to me perfectly. Their veggie combo lets you taste a bit of everything, which was soooo good! Definitely going back.
Nice Ethiopian place, with some interesting options beyond the traditional platters. Warning: the fish is an entire fish with head and bones, which isn’t noted on the menu. Staff is very friendly.
Amazing. 6/5 stars. Service was great, Ethiopian coffee was wonderful. Unfortunately, I accidentally mistook another guest as a waitress and am too embarrassed to return.
I ordered today for first time via Postmates. The dish, "Veggie combo" was delicious with the extra injeras. Flavor was not too spicy as I asked.

Food was amazing! Large portions. Very quiet atmosphere. Great coffee. Highly recommend the veggie combo with fish.
Lalibela is my favorite place to get Ethiopian food. It’s fresh, the flavors and spice levels are on point, and the atmosphere is very cozy and intimate. I’ve been here a dozen or more times and it never gets old. They have something for everyone, meat eaters and veggies/vegans. Whether you eat meat or not, you should definitely try the veggie utopia platter. It’s great for two people, and allows you to sample an array of options they have. The lamb and beef tibs are also very delicious. Perfect spot for a date, or with a group of friends!
Loved my lunch here. The food and hospitality were amazing.
1) fantastic, kind service 2) a bit slow, but food is always super fresh 3) nice ambiance, indoor and outdoor seating 4) street parking (metered in little ethiopia, free in nieghbors if you follow signage) 5) reasonably priced food 6) authentic! this was my first time trying ethiopian food, and i would ahve to say i was a very enjoyable experience! resturant wasn't busy when i went, but service was still slow. i give them grace because they're understaffed. food was hot and fresh. overall, 5/5 stars :)
I am from Washington DC where there is a huge Ethiopian population in Adam's Morgan and I've been eating Ethiopian for at least 40 years from France to DC to NYC and beyond. Lalibela has some of the VERY BEST Ethiopian I've had anywhere, and at least as good even in Ethiopian homes and weddings. The atmosphere is not as great as other places which is what took me a while to get over there. But once you have the food you can't go back!!!! And it's not that the atmosphere is bad it's just that they could use a little bit more of that ethiopian touch. They probably want to go for the sleek eatery type look. But they would do better to make it a bit more ethnic so you could get the vibe. Having said that, I'll still never go anywhere else in los angeles for Ethiopian!

This is my usual go to for someone living as far away as Pasadena. The food is made by Ethiopians and is delicious. In recommend the fosolia (green beans), zil zil tibs (char grilled beef), Ethiopian tea, sambusa and the delicious timatim fir fir!
My first time trying Ethiopian food. My cousin is a vegetarian so this was a wonderful meal but since I mainly tried the veggie utopia, I wished I ordered a more meatier option. The veggie utopia was aesthetically pleasing and also quite tasty especially their lentils and carrot potatoes. The street gets busy and parking can be quite hard to find.

Small place. Made a reservation just in case but don't really need one cause they don't really care. They just put a sign on table that says reserved but that's only if there's more than a number of tables that's already being taken (basically can sit anywhere you wish if there are other tables available except for the "reserved" table. One of the major downsides of this place was the fruit flies flying around!! Staff was good - they missed an order but that happens. Food wise, I give this place a 5 (if it weren't for those flies). Injera was good. We got a beef and a veggie deluxe combo for 3 ppl for a really decent price. The beef were amazing. Totally would go back again.
Great food and atmosphere! Service is on slow side because under staffed but doesn’t bother me much. I always order meat combo #2 and vegi combo with fish (fried rainbow trout). Pro tip: If you like honey wine, go to grocery across the street. They sell injera, spices and honey wines too. Bring some home! update 2025 Sunner Taste of Lalibera $70 is very very very small portion for the price. Order regular one kind dish or other meat combo instead. I really don’t understand how they decide the portion for each menu but it wasn’t worth it and very disappointed. Do they serve more if you say individual plate instead of serve all order in one plate? Every tine I go it’s so random 😔 How can I make sure we get enough food for the group? Apparently paying double doesn’t mean double the size 👎 Total spend $220

My husband and I have been here before. We love their food. But after today I’m very upset. All of their hours are posted online and we show up at 11:30am - they open at 11am we waited for an hour to see if they possibly would open. No one ever showed up to open. Literally 15 other people showed up as well and confused as to why they weren’t open. No sign, no adjustment online for their hours. That’s not how you run a business. A complete waste of time. Extremely unprofessional and rude.
