Love this place! The tea is great especially after all the food you eat. Their soups are pretty good too
Great Korean style Chinese food. Best in ktown! Great lunch and dinner menu!
We have been going there for many years, its delicious! Plain and simple.
It was very good.. They should however have Siracha, soy sauce and other seasonings at the table.
So delicious it's my first time then I liked it everything is good and excellent service.
The wanton soup was amazing! The fried calamari even better! Such great food!
Good food and great prices. Be careful of the valet though, they've scratched cars and hid it.
Good food and great service. Has been around Koreatown for such a long time.
First time I have ever been. Food is fresh and clean great for party's
Reliable good food & great customer service :) lotsa good lunch specials to choose from!
I hate this place, but my family drags me here every time to eat for family gatherings and i always end up eating the same food. I hate it but I eat it
Best Chinese restaurant in Korea town good for group party too
Very friendly attitude employees and Awesome taste for Chinese foods!🥰 *♡*
Been eating here for more than 20years even when they changed owners but they didnt change the flavor i always get mongolian beef, chicken chow mein, fired spicy shrimp, orange chicken and kung poa chicken. Its delicious!!!! And theyre sweet yams after the delicious meal is a great desert!!
This restaurant has been before Ktown became Koreatown. The portions are generous, and the service is fast and attentive. Parking is in the back, but it can be accessed through a narrow entrance off of Vermont Avenu northbound. It is a non-kosher place, yet one can make kosher style choices that can be healthy to taste. If you are not familiar with familiar chinese dishes, I recommend asking the waiters or waitresses their opinion before making a choice. The food ranges from spicy to bland options.
Dinner for two is big enough to feed 4 people. Wonton soup was delicious, as well as broccoli beef. Would totally recommend for casual Chinese dinner
Dragon Chinese Restaurant is the place to go for tasty food. The dry chicken wings are to die for. I highly recommend this place if you're in the neighborhood. Get there early as space is limited. You won't be disappointed. :)
They have great food and service.. try the spicy shrimp and chicken... they have a great set menu for 10-15 people that has all sorts of seafood
Dragon has been around forever. Delicious kampong shrimp, 8 seafood dish, and jajang. But their mapo tofu is absolutely stellar!
Korean Chinese fusion food with Los Angeles flavor added. Highly recommend if you never dine Chinese food in Korea town
Black noodle called jjajangmyeon is best here and shrimp kkanpoongki and beef with onions (forgot the name) is good . They have lots of private big room so it s good for big groub or small group too.
It's the best Chinese food I have ever tasted. Been a year and a half right now and I can't forget about their Chicken Kun pao <3 <3 Definitely recommend for anyone visiting nearby!
Tasty (watering mouth)food, awesome and quick service to be seated. They also have lunch specials! 👍🏼👍🏼 ooh & of course free parking in the back of restaurant.
Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Atmosphere 4/5 Cost: Fair Really enjoyed our time with the family. The food was better than what I expected. Definitely going back.
Service people is very good. Food no test at all. Very bad.. Used be good and testy. Seems like they change something... No customer at all only 2-3 customers. I wander way!!!!
Woman that helped serve my family and guests was amazing! She was attentive and beyond helpful. Thank you! Room #9 for Alex. She deserves a raise!
Nice place to have small and large party. Nice People, comfortable place to come and enjoy Korean Chinese food. 😊 love to come again.
This place is a hidden gem, authentic and beautiful atmosphere. Parking is in the back through a archway in the building. The food is amazing. I love it here.
I love this place. It breaks my heart that they are closing down. This place has so many childhood memories in the whole city of Los Angeles. I’m so sad, please don’t take this place away owner if you read this. I love this place!
really good Korean Chinese restaurant. always has good service and a quiet ambience (unless some particularly noisy people come in). have a set menu and a regular menu. also have private rooms available for groups (recommend if you group is noisy as to not disrupt others) order the 짜장면 (black bean noodles) if unsure what to order but everything else is pretty good too :)
I love this restaurant. They have the most delicious sweet and sour shrimp I’ve ever had. I would definitely recommend everything on the menu though my favorite dishes are: sweet and sour shrimp, jjamppong soup, Mongolian beef, and my kids love their wonton soup with chicken fried rice. I’ve been coming to this place for 10+ years, staff is very friendly and efficient and it is very affordable.
The Dragon is 🔥 The Mongolian Beef is so tender. It’s a must that you come here and order the Fried Shrimp in Hot sauce! Oh my God! It’s bomb 💣 P.S. the sauce is not hot at all. Don’t sleep on the shrimp egg foo young, it’s very good! I’ve past this place for over 30 years and just realized what I have been missing. A great place for large parties and large seating with large private rooms for dining.
Booked for my organization’s banquet~ Had 60 people in attendance with performances - all well-accommodated! Pricing is great, and the service was fantastic! Very friendly and helpful staff, helped a lot with setting up equipment and sound system~ Would recommend for large parties and formal occasions!
The most authentic Chinese food I've ever had at a very low price. I ordered soup and a main course, I had enough left over to have another dinner the day after and I only spent $25. I've had some trouble at understanding some of the employee's English, though, and I was the only non-Asian person in the restaurant. I would recommend you to go there in a group as they serve everything in the middle of the table (that's how it's done traditionally) and anyone may take what they want. Therefore, you'll get more variety in a group.
Portions are big. Jajangmyeon was great. Orange chicken was great, Beef Chow mein was great. We got a plethora amount of side dishes included for these 3 dishes. 4 sides of kimchi, 3 sides of soup, tea pot, egg rolls, fried flour tortilla chips in sugar, 3 sides of lettuce with some kind of sweet oil.
After a long time, we came out to Koreatown for dinner and had a wonderful experience at Yonggung Chinese Restaurant. We ordered crispy rice soup, fried eggplant, and yangjangpi each dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The interior is beautifully renovated, the staff are warm and attentive, and there’s honestly nothing to fault. This is definitely my favorite Chinese restaurant.
Food was excellent, service was fast and attentive, food came really quick. They have rooms where you can have a big group and be private, everything on point
I visited the newly reopened Yong Gong and was very impressed. The full renovation is beautiful — clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. The dining area feels open with plenty of space between tables. The food was excellent. Nothing was greasy, and every dish tasted clean and balanced. The ingredients were very fresh, and I loved how each dish used a variety of components without feeling heavy. There also seem to be many private rooms, which are perfect for first-birthday parties, birthdays, family gatherings, and small events. Great food, great service, and a beautifully refreshed space. I’ll definitely be back.
Food is good and consistent - we got the Kung Pao Shrimp (my favorite), jjajjangmyun (it hit tonight), beef w/ mushrooms and seafood medley. Great venue for large gatherings - they also have plenty of private rooms. Service is impeccable, especially if you have a birthday. They'll store in their fridge, bring it out with candles ready to go when you give the signal. They also provide paper plates and forks. They always have valet parking for $2 during lunch hours and $3 for dinner.
We have our annual holiday party here. The food is delicious and satisfying. Large portions. The staff was attentive and accommodating to such a large party. The vibe is quiet and homely. You don't feel rushed to complete your meal. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. There is valid parking in back which I highly recommended.
Some waitresses are nice, some not, but food is great. Prices not too high. Convenient parking, close to downtown.
Cozy & comfy, they serve you generous portions. I tried the Kung Pao, very delicious. Will definitely return.
Food is great and the main dining room is clean. The back private rooms are a little dingy, but not bad for such an old restaurant.
I expected a little more from high end chinese restaurant they claimed to be. It was just okay.
It seems like the food has changed little, maybe a new chef? But, overall still love the restaurant!
Pretty decent food and service. You can always count on them being open during holidays.
We mainly come here to celebrate birthdays. Go off the menu and order the special 4-2-8 set menu and have a feast (sits 10-12 a table). Free noodles for everyone at the end of the meal!
Good comfort food with some private rooms for bigger parties. Service is pretty good and portions are good, with valet parking in the back. Wish the prices could be lower though.
Surprise surprise~!! Their Jjajangmyun and Jjampong tastes like the ones i've had in korea back in 1980's. Very original taste and good. Brings me back good o memories. Will come back for sure for more
decent black soy noodle and sweet and sour pork. service was great. they give you sweet potato as a complimentary dessert
Very good food & nice atmosphere. In my opinion the portions are a lil smaller & a lil bit pricier than most places in the area. Full bar & private party rooms available. Valet parking for $2 in back...I definitely recommend to utilize the service.
Pretty decent Korean style Chinese food I’d served. Large portions do come hungry. Not sure but I felt the seasoning for the seafood dish was little to blend. But it seemed fresh. Service was very fast and good. I will try again next time.
Decent Korean style Chinese restaurant but slightly on the expensive side. Good service and big portions. Tasted great but not overwhelmingly awesome. Maybe my expectations were a little bit too high. Parking cost 2-3 USD depending on the day but worth it.
It's a bit dingy, but that's what makes the place feel authentic. The portions are large, especially for the black bean noodles. Most people can't finish it by themselves. You can split it with someone by asking for an extra bowl, or you can ask for a small. The sweet and sour pork, sweet and sour shrimp and seafood noodles were good, but the black bean noodles were slightly bland in my opinion, but you can add soy sauce or Sriracha. This place is meant for family gatherings, rather than going by yourself.
This place is a total throwback! It's Chinese food done in the style of a Korean place. Chinese Korean cuisine or Korean Chinese cuisine. The food is pretty decent nothing really super awesome but everything is pretty tasty. Portions are pretty big and the service is really fast. It really helps if you speak Korean and understand the culture.
Very good for Korean Chinese. Food was of good quality and good flavor. Nice menu. Atmosphere, parking, service all great. Had a nice lunch with friends. Servers were very attentive. Happy we chose Dragon.
Amazing food, but a bit pricey. They have valet parking for about $2.00 or $3.00. The staff is very attentive and welcoming. The drinks? Well, in regards to wine they don't have a wide selection. I can't comment on specialty drinks because I haven't ordered those. All in all, a great place to have Chinese food.😊
This is the Chinese food that my family used to eat every Sunday night in the 80's. I still wonder if I am only dreaming it. It is completely americanized Chinese food with the same kind of basic decor...big round tables and beige table cloths. That said, I couldn't love this place any more. It doesn't try to push the envelope and do anything revolutionary....but it does taste amazingly fresh and delicious. Almost everything I've had there is spot on. I won't recommend anything because it will read more » all depend on what your favorite dish was in your family's Chinese restaurant. The lunch portions are huge and a good deal. Yeah, the price is a little pricey but the portions are big. The service is excellent...and after going a few times they know who you are and what your favorite dishes are. There's no line yet....but it is definitely catching on.
I am the person who loves to eat and my favorite foods are Asian foods. I do love Korean and Chinese foods since I been in their country for so many times due to business trip. I always had been looking for a very similar Chinese recipe and a very same food taste as what I always ate in Beijing and thanks for The Dragon Chinese restaurant for letting me taste it again. I am always willing to travel almost 30 minutes just to bring myself and my family there because their food are so delicious and a very perfect taste and it feels like I am still in Beijing eating my favorite Chinese food. So I highly recommend this restaurant! One of the best Chinese Restaurant around L.A!
If you miss old Korean Chinese restaurant about 20 years ago, please drop by here. They have the classic Jajangmeon that I used to have when I was kid. Now I like their Jjampong. Sizzling rice soup was not that good. 양장피👍👍👍
Solid 4 here. There are definitely better tasting Chinese food places in the area. Service is top notch. Place is nice for having company dinners, first-dates, and the in-laws. Their noodle dishes are great and have different lunch combos for those of us like myself who can never pick between jjambbomg and jjajang. :)
Very good food & above average atmosphere/decore. Average of $20 for most plates & a few bucks more for most seafood plates & some varies w/market price. They also have private banquet rooms.
A favorite long-time Korean Chinese food restaurant, closed for a while & reopened recently with an ownership change. Glad to see them back in business with pretty much the same menu offerings and the food just as good as before if not better.
Food is good but portions shrunk.
Very good korean Chinese food restaurant in the heart of Koreatown. This been here forever. Decent Chinese food pretty good service this is where all the Korean celebrations are held such as the 100-day birthday and the one year old birthday. Even smaller weddings and other birthday such as 60th and 70th and 80th birthdays are held here. I always overeat when I come here. The kimchi is addictive. I can't stop eating the stuff. Better come here without eating lunch for dinner. Definitely I'm always going back here. #KoreanChinesefood #theDragon
Definetely not the best chinese I had in my life. Almond chicken was kinda bland, sweet and sour pork just ok.
Fast service but food is just average or little bit under~ And must use valet parking. Parking manager is very kind.
Although the food tastes great it doesn't quite capture the authentic Chinese cuisine.
always been there... food not as great as it used to be but still great for meetings and small parties
I've had one good experience and one bad so 3 stars. Food was fine, it was the people working there that was amiss.
Well this a Chinese Korean restaurant, try black bean noddle (jahamiang) which is so good but service is too late and sometimes they forget what did you order, so much noise there and for no reason in a luxury restaurant they have a tv which is showing so irrelevant shows which is so weird
They have a great menu selection. Great gathering area... Their food though used to be better before. 90% of their food was very salty on my recent visit (opinion from a 10 people group) Maybe they got a new chef. I would highly request that they should try their food often before serving their menu yo customers.
It's a good place to go if u have a big group.. They have private rooms that can hold a lot of ppl. They also have set course menus so that helps w big group. But as for the food goes, its average taste for me. it's not bad but it ain't great either. parking lot is at the back of the building so if u r coming from Vermont south bound, make sure to take a left a block before and use the back road. ( u wont be able to make a left in front of the building)
The service is great. If you speak korean, or go with a huge group or family, they offer family style coursing combinations which are great. Seriously, the service was great. They checked back often and took away plates consistently. Just... the food. Know what to expect. I am so used to higher end chinese regional food with my chef background and san gabriel valley being what it is... but for korean fusion chinese, it's great. My family is super sensitive to certain "asian" ingredients, so if you are too, make sure you dont get too drowsy from food coma. Amazing service.
We were looking for a new good Korean Chinese because pur favorite place in Glendale shutdown. Based on the 4.5 star google review I selected this place... And was extremely dissapointed. The mongolian beef was very chewy and some of the thicker cuts were not even fully cooked. The cha jang myun was gelatinous...and noodles over cooked though it had OK flavor. The shrimp fired rice, though generous in portion size, really had no flavor. I would not recommend this place for someone looking for good Korean Chinese. And yes, i am KoreanAmerican and I remember having good cha jang myun being delived behind bicycles in Korea.
I gave it two stars just based on sentimental value. This place has really gone down in both food quality and venue. The upstairs event and private rooms smell of rotting food and mold. The carpets are disgusting and every part of the rooms are in dire need of a remodel. The food was barely edible, so salty and all the dishes tasted the same since they used the same sauce. This used to be a great place to have private gatherings but I would never go back.
Yong Gung version 1.0 had really great dishes despite the old look. Yong gung version 2.0 is nicely remodeled but the food just flat out tasted bad. We were told as a party of 3 on a Tuesday night that it would take 20 minutes to get seated. Took nearly 50 minutes to sit down. But sure it’s holiday week, I can understand the wait. We ordered 4 entrees (ja jang myun, yoo reun gee, tang soo yook, and kkan poong shrimp). Tang soo yook: the meat was not seasoned enough and tasted bland. The texture was off. Yoo rin gee: this entree came out an hour AFTER we ordered. Our other 3 entrees came out promptly, but this one took way longer. Now for the taste: sauce was bland, meat was overcooked, both breading and meat were tough. The toppings were lackluster. The bell pepper and random sprinkling of lettuce just served as decor and did not add to the taste. Kkang poong shrimp: the texture was very mushy. Sauce was bland. The shrimp itself was good, however. Ja jang myun: was fine. Overall: I probably will not be returning.
The food was very delicious but they will snatch your plate without asking if you're done! I found that very rude!!!
Parking was horrible. I had to waiting 45 mins to valet my car. Food came out late. Service was bad.
All food ordered was very salty and spicy. Service was not good.
Do not order bone-in spicy chili chicken unless you want to find out if wing tips are edible. I never was more upset finding on my takeout that half of the meats were inedible part of the wing elbows and tips. Where can you get that unless you buy a roasted or fried chicken! If their kitchen staffs were too busy to chop up some chicken, decided using scrap meats for my dish it’s too bad. I won’t pay my hard earned money for your scrap food ever again. I’ve been coming to this place time to time for 30 years. It’s sad to see what once was one of the best Chinese restaurant in Korea town came to this.
I ask for Jjamppong with spicy level mild. They had the Jjamppong pre-made, and they just added water. They didn't cook from the scratch. It had bland taste and no flavor. I tried the food many years ago and the quality way better than today's date, it is not the same as used to be. what could have happened is they try to save money with quality food, or hire a cooker from a different race than the original one.
Don't eat here. Service sucks. All the foods looks same n tastes same. We ordered 4 seafood. They actually count shrimps so you get each of you get 1 shrimp per person. When we complained, they said they did count. Abalone is the worst. They didn't count. They served more mushrooms than the abalone. All the seafood had same seasoning. All bland. Just lousy n expensive. Paid $900 for 18 people.
I came in around 1:00 PM and left at 2:30 PM. It was a good day for me, so I tried not to make any special demands from the server. I ordered three dishes, but each one came out about 20 minutes apart — and this isn’t even an Italian fine-dining restaurant, it’s a Chinese restaurant. The last dish never came out, so I asked about it, and only then did they finally put the order in. That was already frustrating. The biggest issue was the service and hygiene. The server was not only unfriendly, but also careless. At first, they said they would give us dumplings, then later brought chili shrimp that looked like leftovers — only a few pieces on a plate. I already felt something was strange, but after taking a bite, I found a long strand of hair in the food. This is unacceptable. Not only is the service terrible, but the kitchen clearly has no basic hygiene standards. Regardless of how good the food might be, a restaurant without proper cleanliness and respect for customers should not be operating like this. Very disappointing experience.
Food was not bad, uncomfortable chairs and tables, service was good, but food price was too expensive. I think they're overpriced.
The food was ok. We got orange chicken, beef n broccoli, chow mein noodles, egg rolls (really spring rolls), wong tongs. I absolutely loved the wong tongs. It was crispy and delicious. Orange chicken was delicious. The beef n broccoli was ok. The beef had a lot of fat on it. The brocolli needed to be cooked more. The chow mein noodles tasted like boxed chow mein noodles. None us cared for it except one party (there were four of us). I give this place a 0 only because of the waiters. There were other customers (asian) inside of the establishment yet the waiters kept staring at us. We even confronted them yet they acted as though they didn't understand what were saying yet when they took our order they understood us as clear as day. I asked one of the waiters if she was Chinese? She said no, Korean. Why was she able to understand that yet when I asked why she kept looking at us she laughed and said she didn't understand??? This happened the entire time we were there. One of us was mixed (looks Brazilian),latino, two black. All the other guests were Asian. I don't know if it was cultural or what but these people need to get it together and stop doing that. For that only reason, I won't go back.
