Excellent food and amazing strong margaritas. The shrimp cocktail is some of the best in town, as well as the stuffed avacados. Highly recommend the cucumber margarita, it’s strong enough you’ll only need one. The atmosphere is upscale but makes a great lunch or date night dinner spot. Highly recommend.

We had the best service today at lunch at The Plaza on Slide. Kaydee is enthusiastic and so much fun. She did a great job, was very efficient and personable. The food was delicious! We both had a crispy relleno dinner and really enjoyed everything. The food is fresh and always hot! We will definitely be back!

The Plaza is a hidden gem that every foodie should experience! I recently dined there and had the amazing jalapeño cream brisket enchiladas, and they were nothing short of extraordinary. Food: The jalapeño cream brisket enchiladas stole the show. The brisket was incredibly tender and flavorful, wrapped perfectly in soft tortillas and smothered in a rich, creamy jalapeño sauce that added just the right kick. Each bite was a perfect balance of spice and creaminess, and the dish was garnished beautifully. It’s easily one of the best enchiladas I’ve ever had! Atmosphere: The Plaza boasts a charming and inviting atmosphere. The decor is vibrant yet cozy, making it an ideal spot for both casual meals and special gatherings. The ambiance is lively but not overwhelming, allowing for great conversation. Service: The service was exceptional. Our server was friendly and attentive, offering great recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our meal. They clearly take pride in their customer service. Value: The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. I left feeling satisfied and eager to return without breaking the bank. We eat at this location often, but had never ordered take out from here. For our Sunday family dinner we chose to order the family fajita pack and the family taco pack, along with extra chips and dips. The food was outstanding, packaged very well, and plenty of food for the price. I will be adding this to our short list of places in Lubbock to order family meals from. Outstanding job guys!

We came in with a party of 22. They were ready to help and showed no frustration with us being such a large party. We had 1 waitress who was handling us during this time. She did have help through the whole lunch, but she maintained our care majority of the time. She was the best waitress we ever had!! She made sure we were all taken care of and NEVER showed frustration from there being so many of us. Excellent service all around. The drinks/food were also amazing! Highly recommend the charro beans as a side. They are by far the best beans I’ve ever had!! For a busy Sunday lunch after church, the Plaza did not disappoint!! 10/10!

We set up a private event at this location and when we arrived the room was ready to go. Our waitress was always around and the service was impeccable. Her kindness could cure road rage, and her helpfulness had us wondering if she had a second job reading to local kindergarteners. Navigating the menu with Sarah felt less like ordering food and more like unlocking hidden treasure. “Trust me,” she said with a smile—and we did. And she delivered. Big time. Every recommendation hit the mark, every course was better than the last, and by the end of the night, we weren’t just full—we were fulfilled. We LOVE this location of The Plaza! It is so convenient to our home, so it makes going regularly an easy choice. It’s become our favorite place to eat especially thanks to incredible service. We regularly are served by Ashley, who goes above and beyond to make our experience special - I have even seen her run out to bring a couple some leftovers they had forgotten on their table! We held my son's graduation party at The Plaza on Slide Road. The staff was very accommodating of our large group of 25 people. We did call a few weeks in advance, so everything was ready to go when we arrived -- table set ups, chips, salsa, queso. We were seated in the patio area which was perfect for moving around. The food (enchiladas and fajitas) was excellent and served hot. Our guests raved at the amount of food and the delicious flavors. Many of us took home leftovers! The price for each person was very reasonable. I would highly recommend The Plaza for a large group, and I look forward to going back to dine with my family.

The side salad was cold (which is good) and fresh. The queso was very smooth. I added hot sauce to my queso. The chips were thin and crispy and again fresh. Flour tortilla good. Was not a fan of the papas side potatoes which were barely warm and kinda watery. But the rest of the meal made up for that. Will go to The Plaza on 114th and Slide again for sure.

I love the food! But what happened to the size portions? It's been a few months since I got this, but I have gotten it for years at the Milwaukee location and it was always the full platter for the Tex Mex Stir fry. And it's the same price, for half the size. That's disappointing

There was a long wait to take our order. There were several long periods of waiting on refills.

Good food and great service. TVs throughout the restaurant were playing a number of different sports events. They were able to easily accommodate our group of 10, and I was impressed by the service for such a large group. Appears to be very popular either the locals — I would definitely recommend reservations. My only complaint : the acoustics are terrible with the concrete floors and bare walls. Talking across the table wasn’t always easy.

Had a craving for a margarita and chili relleno and they have some of the best of both. The bar was a nice place to sit and eat. Bartenders were friendly and made sure I was taken care of. Thank you! I'll go back, I'm sure of it.

Our waitress Kaydee did and excellent job, very attentive to our needs, made suggestions, very chatty, were chatty as well, kept our drinks filled, made sure we were happy at all times while dining in. Very opened atmosphere, clean, rest rooms were kept up too. Managers stopped by as well to make sure we were happy and if we needed anything. Good food, and the sweet tea I had, not too sweet, and freshly made. Everything overall was great.

Ate at The Plaza with family on a Saturday evening. The food was OK the restaurant was clean and the staff were attentive. However, it is one of the loudest restaurants I have ever eaten at. Uncomfortably so. We were unable to carry on a conversation or enjoy our meal because of it.

We have eaten here multiple times and always enjoy the food. My complaint with our experience is about the hostess. She was unwelcoming and very rude. Every time we go to eat there, you would think the hostess is trying to turn people away with her bad attitude. She said it would be a short wait and they just needed to get a table ready, but after waiting a while, I asked how long the wait would be and she said 45 minutes. She never said checked us in and acted as if she had never even spoken to me. There was no record in the system that we were waiting. We left and went somewhere else.

And, yes, I've had guisada from several Mexican and other latin owned establishments (even outside of Lubbock). This one wasn't it. One bite and I couldn't touch it any more. The enchilada...let me tell you that the "queso" is out of a can. The cheese looked like it was on Ozempic and anemic. The corn tortillas...that's Mission brand 100%. The refried beans were decent. The frozen margaritas...strong...but that was fine with me. Atmosphere...it's giving Taco Tuesday at the RNC. My friend and I are latino. He's Mexican and I'm Cuban. We felt so out of place. Not a drop of melanin or ethinicity in that establishment. The original Plaza (granted it was almost 10 years ago) had better ambiance than this place. Given the area it's built in...it tracks. Literally a box with tables and canteens from Party City for decorative lights...that didn't work. If you've made it this far, I'm currently at home recovering. Does this review sound dramatic?...depends. But we were...disappointed doesn't even cover it. HEB pays better homage to Mexican food.

Food was not bad but the service sucked

I attended this restaurant for the first time with a large group of family. While I understand messing up with a big group like that, I can’t quite wrap my head around how my order could be so wrong. The service was also unfortunately extremely slow. So, I ordered a Burrito Loco which comes with beans, rice, cheese, and veggies as a side. The burrito also contains Tomatoes and other vegetables on the inside. There was a choice between steak and brisket as the meat, and I went with brisket. Another person at my table ordered the same thing, but with steak. About 30 minutes later, he received his with everything correct, along with everyone else’s food. ANOTHER 30 minutes later, I finally get mine. Instead of the loco burrito, i receive a giant burrito on a plate alone, drenched with cheese. When i cut into it, it immediately fell apart because of the juice in the brisket. It was unfortunately disgusting and soggy and I could barely take 2 bites. I know restaurants and people mess up, but usually it is corrected. When I informed the waiter that this order was incorrect, he said “mmm so yummy!” and never returned after that. Therefore, I paid $17 dollars for a burrito I could not even eat with no alternative.

The service was mediocre the young man was nice and spoke Spanish to us and it was appreciated but he spent most of his time talking to the other servers. Not doing his job. The food on the other hand was not as we expected the rice had to much cumin, the beans use to taste really good like they had bacon fat and the enchiladas had a cheese that doesn’t melt well and get stuck in your throat going down.

Absolute awful service. Should have left when our server left us mid order. Food came out wrong and it seemed to be a bother to ask for drinks. Will never step foot in this place again.

The discrimination I just experienced at The Plaza on Slide Rd. was absolutely unacceptable! After being seated we were passed by multiple waiters and waitresses, not offered drinks or even the complimentary chips and salsa . After watching the four other tables of “white” family’s that arrived after us be served and waited on we were still sitting with nothing . Only after getting up to leave were we acknowledge. Never would I expect this treatment from The Plaza . Unfortunately me and my family will not be returning.

Dissapointed to say the least. The sweet tea was terrible. Everyone at the table had to get something else. It was so loud you couldn't hear the person across from you. You actually had to wait for a lull to speak. The worst part. I had the chicken fajita salad bowl. I was sick for 4 days afterward. During Thanksgiving. I have visited several The Plaza restaurants over the years. While I've never been very impressed. This experience will make me never visit again.

The discrimination I just experienced at The Plaza on Slide Rd. was absolutely unacceptable! After being seated we were passed by multiple waiters and waitresses, not offered drinks or even the complimentary chips and salsa . After watching the four other tables of “white” family’s that arrived after us be served and waited on we were still sitting with nothing . Only after getting up to leave were we acknowledge. Never would I expect this treatment from The Plaza . Unfortunately me and my family will not be returning.
