We had a lovely dinner in this restaurant when we stopped in Mariposa during our roadtrip. Very attentive and friendly staff! We promised to write a review and that's what we do here with pleasure! We had a kids meal and two times the Sirloin, the recommended wine was perfect to our meal. Thanks for this evening!
Incredible food especially in such a small town. The pasta, and salmon was cooked perfectly and the steak was cooked exactly how I asked! The flavors were consistently great and hit all the right notes. Ingredients were of high quality and I could definitely taste the difference. Soup, salad, and bread was excellent. Also the drinks were very nice. My experience was overall great and staff was extremely friendly and fast. Thanks for the great experience.
This is a MUST in Mariposa for dinner. The bartender made GREAT drinks. Our Dirty Martinis were perfect. From our appetizers to main courses - everything was quality and delicious. The inside of building is SO beautiful as well.
We had the most pleasant dinner experience last night with our server Kaila! She was very kind and prompt. Everything was delicious, especially the salad and house-made dressing. Unique cocktails with reasonable prices. Highly recommend this place!
The filet was as good as I can remember. Perfectly charred and melt in your mouth. Everything was made exceptionally and in house.
We came here after a long day inside the Yosemite NP. We ordered lamb rack, ribeye and sea scallops. The ribeye was phenomenal. I wasn’t expecting it to be so outstanding. The lamb was good too. Good scallops but only three. Overall very pleasant. Will come back when we are back in the area.
I love the venue, the staff and the entire place. We wanted to find a place to drink a beer after our long day, luckily got in. The beer was good, moreover I ordered a pasta which was phenomenal. The bartender was very kind and we had lovely time spent there.
Not what you would expect in a small town like Mariposa. This place would be a major competitor in a big city. The food and the staff are amazing. Darcy made me feel like one of the locals and made all the right suggestions. The Osso Bucco was incredible! My only complaint is that it's not that close to Arizona. I hope to be back in the area again.
Great food and great wine selection. Service was a bit off, but the food and wine made up for it. Would highly recommend!
My husband got ribeye and I got lobster and we were impressed. The green beans and mashed potatoes were really lovely as well. I would stick to classic cocktails such as a dirty martini or Manhattan instead of some of the signature cocktails, as the ones on their menu tended to be a bit sweet. The staff were all nice and the atmosphere was relaxed. We visited the area in off season so I can’t speak for how long a wait would be or the vibe would be during peak times.
After a long day of hiking, my husband, daughter and I went to Fredrick’s of Savourys for dinner. My husband’s steak was delicious. My daughter and I both got the Alfredo with chicken added and it was amazing as well! The staff was very personable and accommodating! I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
7/23/22 -This restaurant is awesome! Best ribeye I have EVER had! The scallops were big and flavorful, and their homemade cheesecake - Oh YUM! For fellow wheelchair users, the bathroom doors are easy to open! Extra points! Friendly and attentive servers and hostess, also. Just great!
One of the best fine dining restaurant! Their food is awesome, owner and staffs are very welcoming. Their timing is on point! We Ordered quite alot of food and it was all served in a very delicate timing. We were able to enjoy every meal course without being under stuff or over stuffed. I will always recommend this location to anyone who is looking to experience excellent customer service and amazing food. The setting and lighting of this restaurant is spectacular. We don't mind driving an hour to this location.
This place is an amazing hidden gem! The food was delicious and the service was incredible! Their wine list was surprisingly good, and had some truly unexpected finds that I only knew about from working in the industry
Amazing food, atmosphere and staff. I had the rack of lamb…amazing!! And my wife had the portobello stack which was also really good. If we were in town longer I would definitely go back. We went at 5pm when they opened and got seated right away without reservations and when we left around 6pm it was still fairly empty.! It was a Tuesday night though
My family travelled from the UK to holiday near Mariposa and Yosemite. Had a meal in Savoury's and enjoyed it so much we went back the next night. Especially liked being able to roll-your-own Alfredo by adding chicken or prawns etc. Service fast and friendly. Sometimes quite busy so consider reserving a table. Recommend.
Someone in Oakhurst recommended Savorys and we are really happy we listened! We were in Mariposa for the night of my husband's birthday and the whole meal was fantastic! Beautiful craft cocktails started everything off right. Our server Adrianna was so sweet and excellent at her job. She recommended the chicken curry soup and it was amazing! My husband had the NY strip and mashed potatoes. The steak was perfectly cooked and he loved the mashed potatoes. I had the special, which was portobello mushroom ravioli in a pesto cream and I loved every bite! They even let my husband pick a dessert for free. Thank you for a memorable birthday meal!
A group of 12 of us had dinner last night, and it was THE BEST! Our server handled our loud group very well and ensured we were all taken care of at all times (I didn't catch her name but tell her thank you) The food, wine, and atmosphere are all perfection! We can't wait to come back!!!
Wow! Wow! It was so good. I got the steak and tasted so good. Everything was delicious. I don’t really have anything else to say. It’s just great.
We came from Yosemite to quickly eat something and we were impressed with the restaurant - awesome service, delicious food and wine. I highly recommend the blue cheese and bacon dip as it was fantastic. The white wine that was served was from CA, one of best we’ve tried from this area.
Had a wonderful dinner here. The food was outstanding. The staff was attentive. I do recommend a reservation, but they are easy to make.
Had a lovely dinner here after a day of hiking in Yosemite! Good ambiance and friendly staff! We got the scallops as an appetizer, which came with a sort of delicious citrus glaze, and the swordfish, which was equally delicious. Highly recommend this place!
It was refreshing to discover a truly American restaurant staffed by American waitresses and almost exclusively American patrons—except for us—contrasting with the Babel-like eateries we had encountered throughout California. It was New Year's Eve, and the service from the waitresses was outstanding, particularly impressive given how busy they were. The atmosphere of the place also made us feel happy.
Wonderful Restaurant with great food. Staff is very friendly and accommodating and pricing is very reasonable for the quality of food. Had a great time and nice dinner!
The chicken chipotle pasta is an absolute favorite in our home on the nights we don’t want to cook but want a delicious meal! This upscale restaurant has the coziest mountain vibes. Whether passing through or celebrating an important milestone or event— this savory restaurant is the best dinner option. The drinks, alcoholic and nonalcoholic, are delicious. Appetizers wise: the shrimp skewers and blue cheese dip is scrumptious! Never leave without trying and sharing a dessert. The Baker here is absolutely gifted.
I was in the mood for a fancy coctail and a good steak, and they delivered on both fronts. Service at the bar was great, a good mix of locals and out of towners. Being off season it was a little slow, but that only benefited me and the level of service was perfect. Would definitely swing by again if I was in town.
Highly recommend, food is excellent, service is great, we went there both evenings during our 2 night stay in Mariposa
Had an excellent meal here at the bar with my girlfriend on a slow night. The food was delicious, truly, not just "good"! The bartender was awesome and made a bunch of custom drinks for us. We ended up sitting around for an extra hour to chat and the chefs, which have been there for years, came out and hung out with us. It was an exceptional experience and I highly recommend anyone driving to Yosemite or staying in Mariposa to make a stop at Savourys!
It has an excellent atmosphere and a well-priced menu. The food was delicious, well served, and brought promptly. The staff are very friendly and polite. We are on vacation for a couple of days here, but we would certainly come again, given the chance. Highly recommended.
Thank you for making my girlfriend’s birthday special! We came all the way from Richmond Virginia to see Yosemite before finding out that it was reservation only. we stayed here in Mariposa decided to explore and had some amazing cocktails accompanied by a birthday desert surprise! Thank you so much! Service was amazing as well the bartender was one of the best we have had!
Awesome, vintage elegant atmosphere, wonderful service, great steaks, pasta dishes, chicken, and more! The array of wines is vast and the cocktails are amazing! Also, don't forget their made from scratch desserts! Great place to have a couple of cocktails and a delicious meal. I would recommend making reservations ;))
A real gem. Excellent meal/service on a chilly Sunday night in Mariposa and steps from our hotel
We loved this restaurant. After a long day driving from SF to Yosemite, this was a great dinner spot for steaks. We highly recommend it! I got the ribeye cooked cajun style and my friends each got the filet. Well priced and great quality for the steaks.
The food was delicious. We had the clams and Portobello mushroom for appetizer. Both were really nicely prepared and presented, very nice flavors. We then had the pork and orange chicken. Both were amazing, both meat were tender and well prepared. The entrees also come with a choice of salad or soup. The salad was very nicely presented and had a nice mixture of greens, feta and other veggies. The split peas soup was tasty and not heavy. The portions were also quite substantial. Service was extremely friendly and attentive. The setting is very elegant and quite intimate. My only negative is that maybe it was a bit salty overall as I could feel it the next day with slightly puffy hands. But most restaurants are using too much sodium in their food unfortunately nowadays...so this is most likely not exception.
My brother and I ate here two nights in a row while staying in Mariposa. Outstanding service and excellent food. Highly recommended.
Very "date" vibey. It was wonderful though, nice seating for couples, nice atmosphere and lighting. Excellent food, salmon and Alfredo was perfect. Had a red velvet and it was great as well. Me and my gf loved it!
I spent 5 days in Mariposa as my base for exploring Yosemite. I had dinner at Savoury's twice and both were excellent. The chicken marsala was tender and moist, the portabella stack was pretty damn amazing. (Didn't miss meat AT ALL.) I was seated quickly, service was prompt and friendly. I'd make it a point of going back any time I was in the area.
We had an excellent dining experience—every dish was cooked to perfection. The clam chowder, in particular, stood out as one of the best my family has ever tried: rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our requests, making us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. Delicious food, outstanding service—highly recommended!
Good service and great food. Our servers were attentive and we were seated promptly. I got the Ribeye (pictured), it was cooked perfectly, right on the requested term. The clam chowdqer was very good too. I'm from Florida, so won't be back for a while; but when I do come back, I will surely stop by.
Good food, good service, owner of establishment is awesome (very warm and welcoming ), and clean and well kept restaurant. I stayed in mariposa for a Yosemite trip and this restaurant is a gem in this tiny town. Went to dinner 3 nights in a row ordering different items every night and all were good choices.
Mariposa is such a cute town and it was our last day visiting Yosemite. Savourys was 1 out of 2 diner’s that’s opened on a late Sunday evening. And boy! What a great find. Food was spectacular, and the waitress service was great (didn’t get her name but she’s pretty and tall!). The cocktails were good and pasta was Al dente!
Excellent stop on the way to Yosemite! We tried the Filet Mignon, Ribeye, and the Ginger Lemon Pasta, and all were cooked perfectly. The clam chowder was also fantastic. Highly recommend!
The staff here are so welcoming and lovely. They were very attentive constantly checking whether we needed more water or anything else and the food was excellent! We particularly enjoyed the lamb rack , the scallops and the chocolate cake.
I travel a lot for work…I have to eat alone a lot…I have never been welcomed more than in this place! From start to finish, it was such a wonderful experience. Nicole the bartender was awesome and made it seem like she knew you her whole life. The other patrons were so kind. Will 100% be back and would recommend to anyone!!! The chicken Marsala was perfection, and the chef was a great guy. Thank you for my terrific night in Mariposa!!
The food was super yummy! We came in with little expectations but came out feeling nice and full! I loved the tomato vegetable soup, it was very earthy and savoury! My partner said his lobsta was absolutely delicious!! Our waitress Adrianne was amazing too! Thanks for our lovely dining experience here :D
We got Sesame Seared Ahi Tuna, Rack of Lamb and that day’s special pasta “Linguini pasta with shrimp and mushrooms”. This place was a hidden gem! We went there after our trip to Yosemite with sweatshirts and sweatpants/leggings but got very classy fine dining experience. Staff was very well trained but also very genuine trying to make our experience unforgettable! Thank you so much! This place deserves only 5 star reviews. P.S. Dress accordingly even though they will welcome you anyway:)) (I couldn’t include tuna appetizer picture here, it was gone in seconds lol)
I had one of the best chicken plates I have had in a long time at this place. The chicken Marsala was outstanding, flavourful, plentiful, comforting… we also got the osso bucco and thoroughly enjoyed it too. Complimentary bread service is very good and our waiters were very polite and attentive. Will definitely come back if we are ever around again, and will recommend it to anyone visiting Mariposa!
Salad or soup & bread came with our dinner entree. Salad with a house vinaigrette was excellent. Bread was crunchy outside & soft inside, perfect. Soup was a Cajun tomato bisque? Lots of herbs & some spices, very tasty & different. The steamed clams was OK, small & not Manila clams. Sauce was tangy & sour, not butter & white wine. For entree I had the pasta with added steak. The steak was the highlight, tender & tasty - grilled to perfection. Wife had chicken Marsala. Chicken was tender & mushroom wine sauce was a killer, wanted more sauce. Green beans & mashed potatoes were fresh & cooked well, maybe a bit more salt. Overall 2 thumbs up. The local draft beer was strong & smooth. As you can see, portions were huge.
Delicious spot in Mariposa. 😋 Been here a couple times. The owner is so nice. Staff is helpful. Great quality and value for what you spend. Yummy flavors and pairings. Also they have local wineries on their menu and they locally source which makes it even more of a gem. The artwork on the walls is actually family owned and created by some members of the family. Recommend coming here if you want a good meal while in the area
Savoury’s is one of the few restaurants open for dinner on Sunday nights in Mariposa. We had a party of 2 at 6:00 pm and it was packed! Even though it’s fine dining, the dress code very casual! There were people in shorts and flip flops. They definitely cater to the crowd who is in town for Yosemite. The bread was perfectly crunchy on the outside and warm and soft in the inside. It’s a little ridiculous that they charge for additional baskets though. Here’s what we got: - Surf & Turf ($34): So good!! The steak was perfectly cooked and so tasty. The shrimp was also very delicious. It came with green beans, which were also good. The herb quinoa rice was great too. - Sesame Salad with Chicken ($19 on menu, but charged $18): Super good and a big portion too! The chicken was also perfectly cooked. Both meals came with the soup of the day, which was Cream of Cauliflower Soup, and it was so good! Great service! We got our food in a very timely manner. Great food and very reasonably priced. We recommend!
Came across this place whilst staying in Mariposa, one of the few places open on a Monday night in April. They had great vegetarian options, and menu offered great variety. With a good choice of local beers and wines. Service was attentive and staff were friendly. Lovely surroundings for dinner. Would recommend a visit if passing through. A bit pricey but portion sizes were good, and my main came with soup on the side. The wild mushroom ravioli was excellent!!
Pretty great food. Way better than the food in Yosemite. I wish they had better salt and pepper like the fresh ground style you can get in Costco with pink Himalayan salt. And the bread should be hot with done French butter. The olive oil could be better also maybe try the ones from Costco. Extra virgin style.
I really think that this is a restaurant that serves exceptional food! The menu has few particular dishes that are worth trying. For example the artichoke starter was delicious! I tried the Steak Diane and I definitely recommend it. The mains are accompanied with a choice of soup or salad. The staff is professional and welcomes you with a big smile. Well, go inside and try their fabulous menu!
We went early and were not disappointed? Staff was attentive but not overly. This was a real surprise considering the size of the town and its location. True gourmet food! and a well balanced menu with a nice wine list.
The food was great. The place was packed. We had a 6:30 pm reservation and was seated about 7. The waitress rushed us the entire time. Didn't bring a togo box or dessert menu even though we had asked for one. The food was delicious and portion size was decent. We started with the bacon wrapped dates and Diablo shrimp skewers paired with a bottle of merlot from a local Mariposa winery. Nice wine! Main dishes were pork loin and steak. Both were extremely tender and well seasoned. Split a lemon mousse. Everything was great except the waitress could have been more relaxed, who knows, maybe she had an off night. I'd definitely recommend it and will hopefully try it again.
The atmosphere was cozy and very had a full happy hour. My meals had creative presentations.
My husband and I decided to spend the weekend in Mariposa, which really is a charming town. Savourys is one of the restaurants we decided to eat at and we had a great meal. The ambiance is so romantic that spending our anniversary there was perfect. I had a bacon wrapped dates, delicious, lentils soup, lobster tail, and panna cotta. It was a solid meal. The staff is wonderful.
Nice place to dine in if you went to Yosemite We had dinner party of 8, it was a nice chic small town restaurant. I had the Alfredo linguini with salmon filet which was really good, it was not heavy but it was unsalted. They do have New Zealand lamb (kosher) but make sure it is not made with wine if you are eating kosher meat or halal meat. Generally it was a nice place, server was kind of rude and not informed.
Best fine dining experience in Mariposa. They have a very classy menu and a ling list of drinks. The food definitely was delicious but felt the quantity was a bit less for something like soup. I would say a reservation for table will be better if you don’t want to wait long lines specially for holidays and summertime.
We recently stayed a couple nights in Mariposa and tried a handful of restaurants in the area. One that we particularly liked was Savoury's. Opening hours are 5-9pm daily. We liked the nice, slightly chic decor and service which both resembled big city restaurants and dining. Importantly, our food was presentable and delicious as well. During our meal we had the Salmon with lemon basil pesto. The fillet was fresh and delicious, topped with fresh pesto and served with asparagus and quinoa rice, this was a delicious main. We also very much enjoyed the coconut shrimp, which were nicely coated and fried. Similar to the salmon, the shrimp tasted very good. For dessert we enjoyed a slice of cheesecake that was nice as well, a good way to wrap up a nice meal at Savoury's In the end, we were happy with everything served at Savoury's and would gladly dine here again if we were to pass through Mariposa again in the future.
Not that pricy as they mentioned. Nice grilled rack of lamb with rosemary plum sauce but I won’t agreed with the sauce on top of the French beans. The taste doesn’t match at all. I don’t like it. Soup of the day is too salty- broccoli soup. Ginger Cilantro shrimp linguini was good!
I didn't eat here but did visit. It is a nice elegant setting, and employees seemed very polite and curious. It seemed that all who were there were enjoying fine meals. I did not partake of any meal due to cost. It was just a bit high for myself. It was very crowded. Meals behind at around $17 to $27
We celebrated our anniversary here. Very disappointed. The service was fair. The food was not good for us. Starting with the dishes. The wine glasses were dirty they had lipstick from previous use. My plate was broken and table cloths dirty too. Our ribeye steak was burnt to charcoal point and cheese cake Sarah Lee quality. Not ok for a fine dining restaurant 👎🏼 Make it better please.
A nice friendly space in the center of lovely Mariposa. We found the space nice (albeit a bit too dark) and the food was prompt and decent with good service. However, it was very off-putting when we received our bill only to see that they decided to add a 20% "gratuity charge" for our super easy table of two. Nobody informed us this was the case beforehand and we did not see it written anywhere. Not only that, but the bill asked us for a tip on top of that. I find this very discouraging and it may impact my decisions on future visits. Perhaps it was an oversight? I'd love to hear about it if that is the case.
I went in with zero expectations, so the bar was set extremely low, and it was just a very unsatisfactory dining experience. I have food allergies and when my appetizer came out with one of my allergens, I asked nicely for it to be remade. It took another 10-15 minutes to get my replacement. Drink service was slow. I know some drinks take longer, but this was something else Main course, a rare steak came out medium and portobello mushroom came out tasting more like a mushroom flavored sponge We took our dessert orders to go, and what was listed as a "torte" tasted more like a brownie. I will say that out server was wonderful and I had no issues with her. I come to Mariposa a few times per year, and I had been wanting to try this place, but I can say that I will not be returning
Tourists be aware! This restaurant charges 20% tip automatically without mentioning it anywhere on the menu. If you are a foreigner, this is NOT common practice in the US. When asked, waiter continued to argue with us saying we’ve agreed though we’ve not signed anything yet. This tip is against SB 478 law. So if you have dined in here and have been illegally charged such tip, call and ask them to refund it, if they refuse, you can file a claim on California government’s website. But best advice is to stay away from here. Let such disguising restaurants go out of business.
I recently dined at Savourys and unfortunately had a thoroughly disappointing experience. I ordered a medium-well sirloin, but it arrived significantly overcooked, with numerous black, burnt areas. The salmon was also overcooked, featuring an unappetizing layer of black across the top. Beyond the culinary missteps, the service was equally frustrating. Our waitress, Tayler, was consistently impatient and inattentive throughout our meal, which greatly detracted from the overall dining experience. To add to our frustration, a 20% tip was automatically included on our bill without any prior notification. When we questioned this automatic gratuity, Tayler was dismissive and entirely unhelpful. Overall, this dinner was quite unsatisfactory, and I left feeling very disappointed by both the food quality and the poor service.
There seemed to be a lack of attention to wine service. When the wine was poured, it dripped down the bottle and wasn’t wiped, the glasses were filled more than halfway, and the wine wasn’t chilled. We ordered two meat dishes ( flat minon, Newyork steak), both requested medium, but the doneness was inconsistent. The New York steak was quite tough (please see photo). For the draft beer, it was poured into a glass that hadn’t been properly replaced—it looked like a small amount of another drink was poured out and the same glass was used. Our table was right next to the bar, so we could see everything. While the staff were friendly, they didn’t check on our table very much, and overall, the food was just okay.
