Apenas pueda volver a Mérida regresaré a probar algo diferente.
The pasta pomodoro was lovely, very fresh and perfectly al dente handmade pasta. The salad was also delicious. And their front patio is very nice with great people watching as they stroll Montejo. We tried Trattoria la Pasta and much prefer this restaurant. Really good wine curation as well, but not super inexpensive wine. To top it off they are extremely dog friendly both on the patio and indoors.
For me, this is the best Italian restaurant I’ve tried in Mèrida. I don’t know why it doesn’t come up more highly in the google ranking. I can never find it when I look for the directions. The atmosphere is peaceful and inviting. The pasta is fresh and the salsas are properly made without being overly done. I highly recommend you La Luna. 💜
A lovely quiet Italian with gorgeous decor. Perfect when you need a taste of home. The service was attentive and friendly. Our waiter recommended a salmon dish and it was delicious. The ingredients were fresh and cooked to perfection. My partner had chicken and it was perfectly cooked-not dry! We had the profiterole for dessert. It was not what I expected (small balls filled with cream) but it was tasty nonetheless. I don’t know why it was so quiet, it was simply delightful.
Can’t believe how great the food and the service was at La Luna Sul Mare! Without a doubt some of the best Italian I’ve ever had (and I grew up going to Italian school learning how to cook it myself). I had the ravioli panna e funghi and it was perfecto. Thanks for having us!
The food was so delicious I forgot to take photos! My friend and I each had the fettuccine bolognese. The noodles were freshly made. Our server who I suspect is also the owner, although he didn’t say, was attentive, recommended fantastic wine pairings and made our experience most delightful. I’m so happy to have found this gem. It’s the best pasta I’ve in Mérida.
I 1it is a light snack and coffee, or a complete dinner with wine and dessert. The food and service is excellent. They even have their own pizza oven! You can sit in the patio facing beautiful Paseo Montejo, or go inside the spacious and air conditioned dining room. Even the background music is soft and calming. I always look forward to coming to this place!
Great Italian restaurant in heart of downtown Merida. The environment is very appropriate for the experience and the service and food is also really good. The prices are fair for the quality and portion of the food you get and a bonus was that our server spoke English and made the visit a pleasure to have.
Would do again! Being from the USA where air conditioning is everywhere it was nice to have staff move us to a table near the AC when we requested it. The service was amazing and each of us ordered something different. The pizza was probably the best you can get BUT if hot chilis are not for you remind staff No Chili por favor! The breaded filet was tender and savory with mushrooms and balsamic vinegar. The pasta dish was cooked to perfection. The wine was Chilean and terrific!
EXCELLENT!! We met Nikko who is the Italian Pizzero, he’s from Verona. He recommended we go eat at the restaurant. It’s very clean inside and so beautifully decorated, everyone greets you. We ordered wine…. It was very good!! I had the margherita pizza…. I always like a simple pizza… by far it’s definitely one of my top pizzas. They cook it in a brick oven. My husband ordered a pasta that has a 4 cheese blend and it was very delicious and simple. Our friends ordered lasagna and grilled chicken. It was all very nice. Our waiter was so nice and very attentive. Good job guys, we will definitely be back!
Returned after a long break. Great location and atmosphere- casual, relaxing, No loud music. The stuffed chicken breast was very flavorful and well presented. Service was excellent. I asked for milk with my coffee and when they discovered they were out of milk, they immediately ran to get it for me. Will return soon

Lesson learned: Read the reviews BEFORE dining! I ordered the lasagna. The waiter asked if I would like some garlic bread. I said, "Yes, just a little." The lasagna was VERY salty, with tiny balls of what I believe was ground meat. "A little" garlic bread turned out to be 6 slices with not even the slightest taste of garlic. Other reviewers are correct... IVA was illegally added to the check. In the end, my $10 U.S. dinner, including the $6 bread, the IVA and a Coca-Cola, as well as a 18% tip became more than $20 U.S.

My girlfriend had long finished her pizza by the time my fish arrived. The fish was okay but there was nothing special to it what could have taken so long. "It's a different process" said the not-so-kind waitress, but it turned out to be just fried fish with 2 asparagus and a few pieces of salad.. Shame really.
Summary: much better restaurants around. Food was great, but.... BUT... service was atrocious. 1. Head waiter only mentioned pizza wasn't on the menu (in an Italian restaurant!) after he brought the drinks not when he brought the menu, as customary 2. No wine list, prices as random as lottery numbers 3. Tip added without forewarning, only found out after paying
They charge IVA which is a scam because by law it must be included in the menu price. Don’t tip if you see the IVA added to the bill. The pizza and salad were ok, but you can easily find better Italian food on the Paseo. The service was bad.
Not anywhere near authentic Italian. And definitely more money than it was worth. One of our main dishes was served with the appetizer. Smallest clams we've ever seen served with the seafood pasta. Flavors were mediocre, and red wine was served cold (not that it was horrible wine, but I couldn't help but think that there were at least a few Italians rolling over in their graves over iced red wine). Overpriced, mediocre food that shouldn't have been called Italian, and less than wonderful service. But, hey, the atmosphere was beautiful!

An Italian restaurant without pizza! Absolutely terrible, did not mention that at the door! The Aperol Spritz was not as good as it could be. Only the interior was nice
Fui a regalar mi dinero.
What a shame!!! Avoid this place. A nice-looking establishment at a prime location, yet they can’t get their act together to provide a pleasant dining experience. The service was miserable. A completely uninterested waitress took our orders (four people) at 6:40 pm. One drink, a margarita, arrived at 7:05; a coke was brought to the table at 7:15, and a bottle of water followed at 7:18. The fourth drink didn’t come, until I asked about it at the hour mark. No tostadas, no bread and butter, nothing. We were about to stand up and walk out, but at the end we decided to turn it into a game and bet on when the fishes would appear. The first plate, a pasta dish, was put on the table at 8:02, almost two hours after ordering. Other meals arrived one by one in the next ten minutes. They were all tasteless, lukewarm, and poorly presented. On mine, cooked lettuce replaced the asparagus listed on the menu. On another plate, tomato sauce came with the amatriciana. It happened on Christmas day. Perhaps they didn’t have their usual chefs and waiters, but it’s no excuse for the shockingly bad experience. The lady who served us should never have been hired to deal with customers.
CAREFUL!! read the reviews!! They are illegal cheaters and charge VAT extra ontop of the menu prices!! When we asked if the prices on the MENU include tax he says "yes yes it's on the bill". Meaning it's EXTRA! They are cheaters. Totally against the law. The two waitresses didn't speak a word of English, only a dodgy waiter finally spoke some
Food was amazing! Great quality! They only let us pay too much! By law the price should be shown on the menu including IVA. We had to pay $600 but they made us pay $800 with added IVA and also asked for a 10% tip which made it more than $900! Such a shame because the food was nice. I asked for the order receipt but the waiter told us the printer didn’t work and he could not give the receipt. Weird. Unfortunately they scamed us. The waiter was very friendly, food was great but had to give a 1 star review for this, otherwise 5 stars.
We spend our New Year’s Eve here and spoiler alert: this was the worst decision of the day. First, the menu they offered seemed a bit pricy for Merida but worth the try. What we experienced was far from what we expected. After an admittedly tasty aperitivo we enjoyed a cold lasagne (or maybe a slice of a normal portion as first course. The salmon or chicken they optioned for main course both were.. eh.. briefly: salmon far from tender and the chicken was only worth the side salad. Looking around wondering if we were only some gringos not being able to honour Italian food her in Mexico we recognized another guest returning the food. Good job, unfortunately we did not, as we were really hungry. What followed was kinda the pit of the iceberg: a pannacotta - at least they said it was one. It looked like a better jello and tasted indefinable. This is the first time I've actually had a dessert go back. Also worth mentioning: a service that was there. Not asking if the food was good, not wondering about why we only took two bits of the dessert. But we’re they were very energetic was the tip. We refused to pay the 15 percent they just typed into the card reader arguing this would be the official tip for tonight. We even asked for the manager, who did not come up but after the waiter discussed with him he accepted the lower tip tonelessly. Should I feel bad for not tipping such an experience? He really made me! I really don’t like giving such bad reviews but being objective that is not what you expect from a New Year’s Eve dinner. Actually not any dinner you pay such an amount for. As I read other reviews of this restaurant recently I really hope for them they get back to their better days and do not only make further money from their good location. Would not go there again!
