Donatella is an excellent Italian restaurant. The food is delicious! The cacio e pepe I tried was excellent — full of flavor, and the pasta was perfectly al dente, just as it should be. The service and the atmosphere were spectacular, and even the dessert was amazing. Highly recommend!

My God, what a delight to have dinner in this Italian restaurant. I’ll tell you about my experience. I live in Chicago and I went on vacation to Miami, Florida. I stayed near this restaurant and walking. I found it and decided to have dinner when I asked the girl for a table with a lot of politeness. She told me to accompany me and in her hands she had the menu. She gave her the option to choose the table she wanted and I chose the one I liked the most. Since then I felt very comfortable and pleased. After a short time the waiter introduced himself who would attend me. Very polite and very helpful. I ordered several very delicious starters. Then I ordered a pasta 🍝 with caviar, which was my favorite. Definitely at the end I finished I ordered a coffee ☕️ very delicious. I loved everything. I definitely when I return to Miami to this wonderful restaurant. The attention was excellent. The extra service.

The Donatella staff were very kind and welcoming! Santiago was tending to our table and gave lots of explanation about the restaurant, its dishes, and was kind enough to take our picture with the beautiful back drop of the restaurant’s design. We tried the Focaccia bread which was great, the grilled octopus was amazing and I’m usually not a fan of it but this one was the best I’ve tried! We had a truffle pasta and pomodoro pasta, loved them both! Also had American espressos with a delicious chocolate cake. We went home full and happy, great experience and atmosphere.

We enjoyed the Miami Spice menu and every dish was simply delicious. The ambiance is elegant and transports you to a charming corner of the Mediterranean. Massimiliano, the manager, made us feel truly welcome with his attentive and friendly service, making the whole experience unforgettable.

It was an amazing experience! Everything was absolutely delicious and fresh! The details of the garnishes and how it complimented the dishes were excellent. We shared a bunch of starters ( focaccia bread, Gambero rosso, grilled octopus, grilled artichoke and the trio crudo) and then shared the lobster pasta! And I would do it all over again. The service was great and the place is very cute, sexy and super romantic for date night. We sat inside because it was hot, but next time will be outside because the vibe is just different.

Celebrated my birthday dinner here with a few friends. The staff was all very kind and attending and the food was delicious! We had the octo carpaccio, the salad was amazing, but the lemon pasta was absolutely divine (just add the caviar it’s so good) & a rib eye (I think). I would certainly come back again and would love to try more items on the menu!

First of all Paolo is amazing! We went to Donatella for my birthday and they treated us like Queens! It was truly excellent service. From the beginning Caroline greeted us with such a warm spirit, made us feel welcomed and sat us at the bar while we waited. Andre took care of us through out and even stayed past his shift. Kenny did great with the parmesan and Maximilliano checked on us multiple times to make sure we were having a good time. If we lived in Miami, we would come here for special occasions, breakfast lunch and dinner because it truly feels like you’re with family and you will be taken care of!

I was excited to see a new restaurant in South Beach and Donatella did not disappoint! Santiago was attentive and thorough with walking me through the menu. He made sure everything was to my liking. I highly recommend the tuna tartare. This was my favorite item on the menu but I tried the cacio e Pepe which was phenomenal. I also loved the ribeye and the pear salad was delightful. I’d also like to acknowledge Roberto, the bar tender who nailed every cocktail but has a true talent with making an espresso martini. The ambience is stunning as well. I will be back soon.

Just went here on a Wednesday night with my friend. The restaurant is elegant but our amazing, funny, and attentive waiter Ryan made it a welcoming and comfortable experience. Could not praise enough his service. The atmosphere is very ambient and the food was exquisite. We had the Prosciutto and Mozzarella appetizer with Focaccia bread and Rigatoni Nduja as the our main course, 10/10⭐️. Would definitely come back.

By far our best dining experience in South Beach! Beautiful setting where host even offered us our choice of tables (rather than assigning us a table without a smile — the norm down here). Our server was terrific, especially with the only glitch of the evening — overcooked Dover Sole. He whisked it away with apology and returned with a perfectly cooked version within two minutes. With that correction, all of the food was delicious, especially the grilled artichoke, the amazing house salad, the lemon pasta and multi-layered chocolate cake. We loved our meal here!

Great restaurant for the area but didn’t meet the 5 star recommendations. We started with the artichokes which was amazing followed by the trio of crudo. The hamachi was a bit more “fishy” than usual but overall a good plate. We had the NY strip along with the Amalfi Limone. The steak was unfortunately cooked more medium rare than medium but the pasta saved it by having a great lemon flavor and honestly one of the best pastas I’ve had in awhile. For dessert they only had the gelato available which if I’m giving 5 stars has every dessert available so it’s tough for me to give that level of review. Service was good but our server left in the middle of conversation a couple of times to serve another table which for me is unacceptable especially while actively describing items on the menu or taking an order. Overall great restaurant but probably won’t be returning given the wide selection available.

The dining experience at this restaurant was satisfactory rather than exceptional. The octopus dish stood out as one of the highlights, while the appetizer was merely acceptable, primarily due to the overly fishy flavor of the white fish. We also sampled the lemon pasta, which was pleasantly unique, accompanied by some caviar that added an interesting touch to our meal. Unfortunately, the main course, a fish dish, was overcooked and dry, necessitating a request for a replacement, which was promptly provided and appreciated. The service was commendable, and the atmosphere was stunning—truly reminiscent of a beautiful Italian mansion. Although I cannot recall our server's name, he was from Italy and provided excellent service. I highly recommend supporting this restaurant; as it is newly opened, I believe it will continue to improve with each passing day. One thing that I have to say you need to check your bill! They make mistakes and accidentally they add items that you didn't order. It will be corrected but just double check!!!!

Great food and atmosphere and amazing service. We had the pleasure of dining with Patricia! She was very friendly and attentive throughout our dinner. We had a great experience!

Presentation was perfect, wines too… their specialities are seafood dishes pasta etc. All that was awesome! The limone pasta was whatever. I did not like that when I asked the server for recomendations he only recommended the most expensive dishes on the menu… the gelato was brutal but it is A LOT! Besides that decoration and all the rest was really nice. Sad thing is that in summer miami gets really hot and great part of the tables are outdoors so even with fans it is hot during the day.

We came here for our anniversary. We had reservations for the terrace. However, when we arrived they advised us that a group had a party on the terrace and we could eat inside or outside (on a busy street during rush hour). We opted for inside. Another mistake - it was no quieter than the street with loud music blaring over the speakers. Horrible. The food gets three stars because the artichoke heart appetizer and the pear/goat cheese salad were outstanding. The fettuccine was also very good. The Branzino, however was another story. It was hands down the worst Branzino I have ever eaten. It was not fresh, tasted bland and fishy. It was bad enough I sent it back (which I NEVER do). Then they offered us a complementary dessert to make up for it. Oops, after 15 minutes they came back and apologized but our choices for dessert were not available. But what they brought us was also fantastic! The only bright spot was the service. Both the bartender and our waiter were phenomenal. Super-attentive and apologetic about the issues. The manager was also gracious and apologized profusely for the problem with the fish. They were good enough that I will give the place another try eventually. The service is that good! My advice is try it on a night when they do not have an event. My guess is the kitchen is swamped and that is why the food was not so great. Avoid this place if they have a party/event. It will disappoint.

Mediocre experience. Waiter was very pushy. Spilling water over because pouring too fast. Made mistakes with order because was not listening carefully. Pasta was overcooked and served cold. Worst part was the over 30-minute wait for the valet to return car. No one else was waiting. And then we found a parking violation ticket for $124 inside the window that was issued while the car was in the hands of the valet. Unbelievable!! And the disrespectful attitude from one of the front door hosts was unacceptable. Never going back.

Went there yesterday to try their Miami Spice menu. When we asked for the Miami Spice menu, the waiter started being unpleasant. He was clearly pissed that we asked for it for some reason and he showed it. The Miami Spice menu was okay except that the portion are really small. We asked for parmigiano but they never brought it so we had to eat our pasta without it bc it was getting cold while we were waiting. When we asked for the check the waiter decided to charge us for water when we asked for tap water. He kept saying that he gave us still water, but I never saw him pouring still water and no bottle was on the table. I think he just wanted to charge us more so he could have a bigger tips, as 20% service charge is included. And tbh, when the waiter is this rude, I surely wouldn’t give him 20% tips.

We visited this restaurant hoping to discover a great new spot in Miami. At first, we were impressed by the ambiance—it’s a beautiful place with a stylish atmosphere that made us excited for the meal to come. Unfortunately, the food was a huge letdown. We started with the Donatella Salad, which was nearly inedible. The lettuce was bitter and the octopus overly salty—we couldn’t even finish it. Still hopeful, we waited for the pasta and the branzino. Sadly, both dishes were just as disappointing. The branzino tasted old and was far too oily. The pasta was no better—completely drenched in oil and lacking flavor. We left very disappointed. For a restaurant that looks so nice and has a higher price point, we expected much better quality. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things, but based on our experience, we wouldn’t return. Giving 1 star to help others make informed decisions—especially since we now question the reliability of the other positive reviews.

My husband got us the Valentine “Experience”. We paid $180 (PLUS TAXES!!!) for: 3 roses on the table, a $10 bottle of Prosecco and a cake for dessert (that the waiter did not even know was included). Outrageous! Don’t get me wrong, I was happy to pay for the dinner only - food was great -, but this experience was plain robbery.

Unfortunately, this restaurant was a major disappointment. For the price, I expected a much higher quality of food and service. The Cacio e Pepe — a simple yet iconic Italian dish — was particularly bad: overcooked pasta, dry sauce, and absolutely no depth of flavor. It was bland and completely missed the mark. The overall experience felt rushed and overpriced. For an Italian restaurant, the lack of care in such a classic dish says everything. Definitely not worth the hype or the money. I won’t be returning.

I’m incredibly disappointed. We booked our Valentine’s Day and anniversary dinner nearly a month in advance, only to receive an email just now saying our reservation was canceled with no explanation and no way to resolve it. There was no contact person listed, the phone number provided is never answered, and multiple attempts to reach out via Instagram DMs have gone completely ignored. The restaurant is essentially unreachable. With Valentine’s Day only a week away, it’s extremely difficult to secure a comparable reservation this late, which makes this situation even more frustrating. Canceling a longstanding reservation without explanation or support shows a serious lack of care for guests’ time and important occasions. I truly hope management sees this and reaches out to make things right, because this experience has been upsetting and avoidable with even basic communication. We are flexible with time if needed , but to completely cancel our reservation is terrible hospitality. I am open to talking and getting my reservation back for the 14th of February! I had high expectations for this Donatella Italian restaurant, but sadly, it was a major letdown. For the prices they charge, I expected quality food and good service—unfortunately, I got neither. The service felt rushed from the moment we sat down. We were barely given time to read the menu before they started pushing us to order. The staff seemed more focused on turning tables than actually providing a pleasant dining experience. As for the food, it was average at best and absolutely not worth the price. For an Italian restaurant, I expected authentic flavors and fresh ingredients, but what we got felt more like a generic tourist trap. Definitely not a place I’d return to or recommend. There are far better Italian spots where you’re treated with care—and don’t feel like you’re just another bill to close.

Terrible Experience . I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Donatella. We waited an hour for our food, and not once were we informed about the delay. When the food finally arrived, the fish was completely raw. I asked the waiter to have it cooked more, and he promised to bring it back—but never did. I ended up leaving without eating anything. To make matters worse, when they brought the appetizer, the dishware was broken. For a place that markets itself as “elegant,” these kinds of issues should never happen. Overall, the service was awful, the food was poorly prepared, and the restaurant’s lack of attention to customer care was shocking. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It’s not worth the price or the wait.

Christmas night. Terrible service, disappointing food, and an endless one-hour wait without any explanation from the staff. It’s a shame because the place itself is beautiful. A complete lack of respect from this place. A completely unacceptable experience for a restaurant that presents itself as elegant and upscale. Everything was far below expectations. We ordered octopus as an appetizer, which was served on a chipped plate. For a restaurant that claims to offer a refined, high-end experience, serving food on damaged tableware is inexcusable. It looks terrible and completely destroys the concept they are trying to sell. This is not an inexpensive restaurant, and presenting a broken plate is disrespectful to the guest. We arrived at 8:25 p.m., and the main dishes were not served until almost 10:00 p.m.—a delay of more than an hour. During that entire time, no one approached our table to explain the delay or offer any reason whatsoever. This is unjustifiable for a restaurant of this category. My husband was then served salmon that was completely raw. The dish was taken back with the promise that it would be properly cooked and returned. That never happened. A woman who was at the hostess stand came to our table identifying herself as the manager. I explained everything that had occurred, and even then the salmon was never brought back properly cooked. Her attitude was unprofessional—she simply said, “don’t worry,” as if we were supposed to be satisfied or relieved because the bill was removed. That was the bare minimum after such a failure, not a real solution. It was Christmas, and my husband was left without a meal. A total lack of respect. The Spaghetti alla Nerano that I ordered was extremely disappointing very basic and far below the level expected from a restaurant that markets itself as upscale. After having the spaghetti alla Nerano, I experienced stomach discomfort. I mention this as it may be relevant for other guests To be clear: I did not go to Donatella for a free meal. I went expecting a high-quality dining experience and instead had one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in Miami Beach. Mistakes can happen. Multiple failures, poor execution, and no real resolution cannot. I would never return and do not recommend this restaurant.
