They make italian food, the italian way. Ignore the reviews that rate down service, if you are looking for authentic Milanese food cooked their way then this place is excellent. If you want to ask for special treatment I i.e. extra vinegar for your pasta (yes that happened next to us), then you will be told "no" and rightfully so! Amazing wine selection also
Service is incredible, very personable and fun. I was also very thankful they were able to seat me and a solo diner during the Sunday lunch rush. Food was good, but not excellent. Might be what I ordered, ravioli with butter and sage and the cotoletta. Just felt a bit bland, but the temperature was good and the technique was good.
Great food and ambience. Loved the grilled seabass special with tomatoes. The staff is super warm and friendly and a tourists who visit every 6 months this place has now become a regular hot spot.
Had a lovely meal here. Nice soft lighting and cosy atmosphere. Food was great especially the ossobuco. Leonardo was a great host.
Great menu with eccellente service and quick turnaround. The risotto Milanese is super and the osso buco divine. Do not miss out on the zucchine and the puntarelle and make sure you leave space for the zabaione at the end
We had dinner at La Libera in Milan yesterday, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. We each had three primi piatti (homemade pasta), which were all delicious, followed by ossobuco and milanese as secondi piatti, both were simply sensational. We were warmly and charmingly served by a friendly waiter from Austria and another great waiter named Domenico. They gave us excellent wine recommendations and made sure we had a truly enjoyable evening. A fantastic dining experience. we can definitely recommend this restaurant!
We came with Milan local friend’s recommendation to experience local gourmet, first of all, we were served by a waitress who’s soooo friendly and hospitable. Cuisines are delicious and vibe is cozy and traditional. We enjoyed a lot an occasion, chatting with guests next tables with multi-languages and cultures. Unfortunately, I forgot to have a picture or contact with them. That would be the only regret and best memories of the night. And, interesting in chatting with restaurant people with Italian gesture: È così delizioso!
We went to this restaurant on the recommendation of our Airbnb host, and it was everything we wanted and more! The food was absolutely amazing - authentic, local, and full of flavour. The atmosphere felt truly Italian, and the hosts, including Domenico, were incredibly kind and welcoming. It was such a memorable dining experience - we can’t recommend it highly enough! Just go!!
We really enjoyed having a nice dinner here. After a very long day in Milan it was really a blessing to find here very good food and drinks together with a very good service. I can mention specifically that the grilled porcini we had at the recommendation of the staff have been enjoyed by all of us regardless of the main course we ordered. Everything was very good together with a perfect service and helped us to recover after an extremely tiring day. Thank you all!
Must must must visit! We came across here after searching for restaurants with the best tiramisu reviews - it did not disappoint! Atmosphere- honestly such a vibe, so beautifully decorated, very chilled out with outdoor seating available as well as indoor, and indoor is decorated beautifully. Great big mirror wall hiding the toilet which is a quirky way to design the place, as well as lots of wine bottles and art around. Service was fantastic, spoke great English, was very attentive with drinks and food recommendations and serving quite quickly over lunch too. Food - amazing. Simply amazing. Their sicilian pesto pasta was amazing, as well as their special porcini mushroom pasta, and their tiramisu is the perfeccttttt blend of cream & coffee without being super heavy. Definitely get one each because they get devoured. Would absolutely recommend anyone contemplating to visit, and to order the dessert!!
It was so fun to try the traditional dishes here. I tried the fiori di zucca, risotto salato, and for dessert the gelato al forno (which I'll be dreaming of)). It was truly delicious and the very kind waiter was happy to explain everything and give us some tips about the city itself. The atmosphere and furnishing was cozy, and very unique. Would highly recommend going here.
The food was wonderful- in particular the pasta with calamari, zucchini and bottargna roe (pictured here.) The service was also incredible as it was crowded by our amazingly efficient waitress kept the whole room running perfectly and our food came out quickly and was delicious. It’s also a great deal and would cost twice as much in the US. If I’m back in Milan I’m definitely returning!
We had a great experience at La Libéra. The staff was friendly and welcoming. For starters, we shared a very good vitello tonnato, followed by the veal chop Milanese, which was excellent, and a special ravioli pasta that was also very tasty. To finish, the tiramisu was outstanding. We highly recommend this restaurant for both its food and service.
Molto buono! Outstanding food, service and decor. We had the artichoke salad with Parmesan which was absolutely delicious. the super rich pici pasta with Pistachio pesto - oh wow, just sooo good. The sauté of seabass with capers and olive was our favourite. Our favourite meal in Milano in terms of local cuisine.
Every aspect of this place is fantastic - the decor; the atmosphere; the genuine friendliness of the staff, especially with a 1 year old. We enjoyed the delicious Milanese food especially the risotto and the cotoletta - a great place frequented by locals who all seem to know the staff. We will be back.

We were lucky and were able to get a table without reservation. We could only stay for almost two hours before the people came in that reserved which was enough for us. The waiter who attended us was so funny and kind to us. If anyone gets Domenieu, you will have a great waiter who will help you with the wine and getting a great experience of the restaurant. We really enjoyed this place. Honestly the atmosphere was a 10/10 and reminded me so much of my favorite restaurant back home. The staff was very accommodating and attentive to our table which I really appreciated. Incredible wine list with list of options to choose from. Now the food… I did enjoy the food but the highlight of our meal was the chocolate soufflé! The sea bass was a little overcooked and my husband’s steak was rare not medium rare and the sauce overpowered the steak but everything was really good.
Authentic food and atmosphere. We sat outside, so keep in mind people next to you will most probably smoke and spaces between the tables are kept to a minimum. The main waiter was very accommodating and made the experience even better. We booked a table as it was Sunday evening, but if you eat earlier than locals there is no need for it.
We’ve been here several times in the past and always adored the place—the atmosphere, the experience: entering, going down a few steps, and then heaven—the light, the shadows, the ceiling, the wall of wine bottles! But this time, we were really disappointed. The wine was overpriced, as is everything in today’s Italy, especially in overtouristic Brera. The salad was soggy, and the pasta overly voluminous. One of the waiters was really professional, the others overworked, tired, underpaid, probably a combination of this all.
Service is the top. Ambiance is good. Food is average, nothing special. I would say "bad" considering the price. I get the same in an entry level trattoria at lunch. It's good for the service and the ambiance, but Milano has better to offer.
