This store is really good. It's in a great location, and there is limited free parking at the rear of the store. The staff are friendly, the food comes out consistently well and very tasty. Plenty of vegetarian options. They even do coffee now. If you are dining in, there are a number of options: sit out the back where it is quieter, but you get the awesome music, sit near the windows and watch the world go by, there are two booths inside and they also do seating on the street, perfect for nice summer days. Great place for a group to get a quick feed.

I moved to the area in 2017 and I have been a regular ever since. I have never been disappointed with the food, service or the restaurant. I love all the food I am served and the drinks are reasonably priced. The food is healthy and reasonably priced. Have spent way too much money at this establishment but I am gonna spend more 💯

We recently visited this place and I would say that this is one of the best store to have Mexican food in Perth. Aiden was very friendly and did provide a great customer service. Also, manager on duty, Natalie was also very friendly. Good work guys, we will definitely come back.

Had an amazing experience here tonight, Spoke to a beautiful young woman with tattoos on her arm, unfortunately I didn't catch her name but her customer service was brilliant and she gave the customers 100% of her attention and she was very bright and offered a lot of extras on my order, which I was happy to purchase. She was bright and great to speak to. The store was very clean and all the staff behind the counter were very bright and happy. Very pleased to say my order was done in 5minutes and this was during a busy period. I was very pleased with this, thank you so much for the awesome customer service and the HUGE portions, I wasn't able to finish my regular nachos because of how hearty the serving was. The staff were very friendly and the food was amazing. I got the burrito and it was one of the best things I have ever ate. The tortilla was super soft and warm and it didn't fall apart once, I even had the burrito out of the tinfoil. The fillings were full of flavour and the ingredients were top quality, I didn't feel sick after eating.

Usually go here for breakfast or lunch. The service is really quick. The main downside is the lack of parking, there a couple of spots at the back but these are often filled, unless you get lucky but if you go at peak times it's hard to get parking around Beaufort Street.

GyG Mount Lawley have greatly improved since my last review, they now have food warmers to keep the Uber deliveries warm, much more counter space and they seem to have improved they delivery experience as I don't see crowds of Uber Drivers getting impatient waiting for food. Food has been fresh, I always get the Cali Burrito and Chips have been hot everytime now!

GYG Mount Hawthorn is really fantastic. We often pop by here for a brekkie special over the weekend, especially when we are out and about early in the morning (like after an early morning SUP session). Their Tacos are also amazing! They've got wonderful combo meals, and such good prices. The food is always fresh and delicious, the quality is fantastic, the coffee is wonderful and the staff are absolutely amazing. Definitely a place worth visiting.

Takeaway fast food Mexican restaurant, you can order at the counter, by the app or by delivery service. Meals are usually served quickly and are made fresh to order. Always a good option when you are in the area but don't know what to eat. They have seating indoors and outside.

Amazing food as always, the female server once mistook and assumed us for uber eats pickups instead of an application order pickup, without even asking what we were waiting for, So that was clearly discriminatory and racist, but the main server apologised later for presuming. Food is amazing as always, so is the location of the restaurant.

Great food. Spicy was nice and not killer. We ate 5 main dishes and 2 sides between 4 adults, along with the "bucket of Coronas". It was a bit cold (oddly it was raining outside in Perth in January) but it was freezing and all the windows were open. Still, it was good food and good company.

I had a chicken burrito with extra chicken. The staff were young potentially new or stoned because they seemed way to happy to be working. I for one do not enjoy work. The pigeon that was stuck in the toilet with me made me a tad uneasy while I tried to go number 2as it kept staring at me, seemed friendly enough, didn't attack me so all good in my book 4 stars because the toilets could be cleaner

Love the food. Bit of a pain that we had to order online as one of the items we wanted that was on a sandwich board next to the entrance was only available through their app. Though about going somewhere else. At least it was reasonably quick.

My wife is from Texas so we enjoy our TexMex and Mexican food. G & G does pretty decent food and so far their corn chips are the best we've found in town so far. Chicken or pork soft tacos are particularly yum... keep up the good work G & G.

Had a pleasant experience at the Mount Lawley store. Went there for a quick bite to eat one evening before a show at the Astor Theatre in Mt Lawley.. Food was tasty and very reasonably priced as even though Mexican food can sometimes look small serves it is generally very filling. Even so it was a Friday night it was still fairly quiet with plenty of tables and chairs inside and also cane tables and chairs outside plus llarge tables with benches outside. Very friendly service with a smile which goes a long way..Food was served very quickly. Only criticism is they told us they cant take onions out of their food as some items are already pre-prepared so if you don't like or have an allergic reaction/ intolerance to onions then maybe it's not the best place for you. Otherwise great service

Fantastic as far as franchises go! I definitely love the nacho fries. It still tastes not quite authentic but hey! They're a franchise and they do what they do better than most! If you're looking for a quick bite definitely consider this place :)

Food was yum. Service was okay. Staff clearing tables but not pushing chairs in or removing scraps and rubbish from floor. The FOH looks a little untidy. Not what you'd expect in such a prime corner location on the main street. Might just be me, but the large fries is not large 😳 it's tiny!! But that's on Guzman as a whole, not the Mt Lawley store

Tables outside need to be wiped down with a bit more frequency a lot of spot build up as it's by a busy intersection. Fries used to always comes out much later than food which has improved lately. GYG is priced pretty well and usually good quality. Service at this one is better than others I've tried around Perth.

Went to this place for dinner w the family. My wife had A Chicken Enchiladas, my son a Chicken Nachos and I had Pork Hard Tacos. All of it tasted good. The price per bowl was about 10+ dollars

-1 Star for parking situation. Small car park on the merger of two busy streets, only one way in and out. Narrow spaces and poor lighting, and the parking is on a slope. Expect delays due to the high volume of customers and delivery drivers. OTHERWISE, this is the best GYG in Perth. Fast and friendly service, warm, welcoming, and helpful staff, indoor and outdoor seating, and a cantina with imported beers and margaritas. I have even seen them hosting DJs playing dance tracks and reggaeton/latin music! Getting to the bathroom is a bit sketch, but it's clean!

Burritos were delivered in a timely manner and wrapped well, however minus one star as there is usually inconsistency with portion sizes. Picture for example, both regular burritos, notable weight and size difference. Sometimes the burrito bowls are packed nicely, some aren’t. Tastes good though so will continue taking the risk. Guzmen please improve portion sizes.

Is it a 100% authentic Mexican food? I don't really know. Are you Mexican? No me neither. I wouldn't be able to tell you what's a good taco or burrito from something in Monterrey. But you know what? This thing was tasty and filled me up for days that I wouldn't even mind if the place was owned by a Vietnamese uncle instead of two Mexican brothers. It probably haunted me in my sleep cos I wouldn't have minded going for a second round the next day.

We had 3$ tacos here. They were delicious. The place has booths and the service was with a smile. They were just the right amount of spicy and the flavor stayed with us for a bit.

I went the GyG late morning around 10.30. The breakfast burrito was great, filling, decent portion and well-priced, but the music IS WAY TOO LOUD! Especially for that hour of the day. There's a difference between creating atmosphere and making it so loud that it's unpleasant for people to sit in there. the restaurant was empty for that reason. I couldn't believe it when a staffer then sat at the booth next to me and started looking at videos on her phone, loud enough so she could hear it over the music. Perhaps headphones might be a good idea so patrons don't have to hear all these conflicting noises.

The food was good but the place was awful and messy. There were literally pigeons eating leftovers on the tables and no one cleaned it once during our half hour stay. The server was good though.

Never tried it before but sister was begging me to try it with her. We Both agreed it was kinda bland in flavour and chips were super soggy, I got spicy but it didn’t taste spicy at all, cheese was yummy and there was lots of avocado and jalapeños which is always a bonus. Overall pretty much what you expect from fast food place I guess, not great but not terrible. Staff were friendly.

Looks like they are cutting on filling significantly to increase profits. Ordered a spicy chicken tender cali burrito and all I could taste was chips and chicken. There wasn't much guac, pico de gallo and there was no habanero sauce which makes it spicy! I have been to different GYG branches in search of a good burrito because their ingredients taste so good. But they don't assemble the burrito like it should be done and it kills the experience and quality of the burrito. I went to another branch earlier and ordered the same and it was just a roll with chips and chicken. No toppings whatsoever. I'm just sad that it has come to this. After giving around 3 different branches a try, sadly I'm steering away from their chain.

I have been a regular customer at this gyg but seems to me not for much longer. The quality and quantity has gone way down. Every time i come the size of my mini bowl gets even smaller. Today i got 3 chips 2 pieces of chicken and a couple spoonfuls of rice in name of small bowl. Highly disappointed.

Go to Malaga G&G, the people in Mount Lawley dont care and make Nacho fries into a sloppy mess.

My friend and I got served our takeaway from a guy at 8:15-8:16pm, on 25/7. I am a regular here and am normally very satisfied with the food and service here. Today, the guy proceeded to say “arigato” to us thinking that I couldn’t hear him. It’s not a coincidence that we are Asians too. The guy was wearing a black cap, and a black hoodie with white writing at the chest area.

This place is normally great but the last two burritos I have ordered have been pretty poor. I order both chicken and pork in the burrito but recently there has been hardly any meat and mostly rice. Hopefully this will be different on my next visit.

For the second time in a row, my takeaway order was missing chicken. I paid extra to have veggies and guac with the chicken burrito bowl. It has happened while I was dining in and was able to rectify it, but when it’s later in the evening and you don’t find out until you get home - who wants to trek back? Please do better. The sticker on burrito bowl was correct.

Ordered on the app, fairly straight forward. On arrival the 1st team member (older guy) grunted at me and wasn’t helpful at all, clearly hates working here. Waited 10mins past the ‘ready ETA’ in the app which was unexpected as it was very quiet and there was a few staff running around. The 2nd team member (younger lady) was as very polite and courteous. Got the food home, iced coffees were really tasty, burritos had almost no chicken or guacamole, but heaps of rice and beans, feeling quite ripped off. Chips were very tasty and fresh. Overall I wouldn’t bother going back here due to the lack of nearby parking, rude staff member and poor quality making of the burrito. For $50 I expect better!

Asked for spicy, entirely bland. Not very warm. Waitress was very nice, told me she knew it was a problem and she'd raise it with the staff, again. There was a very little, not terribly spicy, red sauce over a couple of nachos. Otherwise sauce was like plain gravy.

I had a terrible experience when I went to pick up my food order. A staff member greeted me as "Uber Driver" because of my Indian ethnicity I was not carrying any bag or wasn’t wearing any cap or T Shirt which says Uber or Delivery. When I objected, the staff refused to give me my food and the manager was unhelpful. This is unacceptable behavior and a clear case of Stereotype, racism and discrimination. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and I suggest they take steps to ensure this kind of behavior does not happen again. And even after all the this none of the staff members was nice enough to use a simple word “Sorry”.. Worst Experience

Went for breakfast this morning with my partner. Ordered 2 burrito bundle brekkie meal and waited for over 25 minutes but was still not served. The guys who arrived 15 minutes after us ordered the same burrito but were served way before us. I went to ask if our meal was ready but the hash browns were missing and they could not find it rather looked at each other’s face. Had to leave without hash browns after paying for it and waiting for almost half an hour. Poor customer service I’ve ever faced at this place after going almost every week for last couple of years.

Orderd chicken spicy burito meal, but not spicy, no chicken only a lot of tomato pieces kidney beans and rice, very dissapointed and total not worthy for our money..

They advertise $3 tacos. But when you actually order a taco (vegan) they charge $5 for it. On the sign there is no mention that it’s for meat tacos only.....

We ordered Nacho fries large portions and quantity was so less which was disappointing. We asked for checking again quantity and there was an argument saying this is correct portion served! Tables were dirty and there were tissues all over store. Disgusting! Never coming back. Pride in what ??? Serving half quantities and take money for full portions? And no apologies??

Came in for breakfast. Were 2nd to order. Took over 30mins to get our meals. My flatwhite was more then half foam, noted because it was so light. Hash browns were over cooked, dry and just crunch. Worst bit, the scrambled eggs with chorizo were stone cold, felt like straight out of the fridge. Staff were pleasant to fix, and quickly got me a new coffee (which was fine) and new scrambled eggs with chorizo. But still was only luke warm. With the added tomato mix, made it cold very quickly. I couldn't eat all of it, as after 5ish minutes it was like cold eggs again. The kids food was cold too. But they didn'tind too much.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! For 15.9$ half empty regular plate is A REAL DISRESPECT OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY. On the top of the same when complained, we have been denied with the answer that it’s the standard meal size as like I am visiting for the first time. But yes, CERTAINLY FOR THE LAST TIME I HAD MY LUNCH WITH THIS PLACE IN THIS LIFE. According to me zambrero is light years ahead and better than here. Won’t count a step of this chain again EVER !!!!

I’ve been trying to contact your store and no one answers the phone and I’ve tried to leave a voicemail message and no one has called me back And your email address is not monitored any more as I receive an automated email saying that your email address is no longer monitored! I placed an order, but unfortunately had to request a refund due to a complete lack of communication in the kitchen. The wrong meal was served three times, which is unacceptable for any food service establishment. This experience was both frustrating and disappointing, and I expect better standards of coordination and service moving forward.

Inside is very run down and pretty filthy - in need of TLC, at a minimum maintenance and a good clean. Bathrooms are absolutely disgusting (which I won’t describe on here). Serving sizes are so extremely small compared to other locations, barely had any meat in my meal. Salad had toppings had sand in it.

Whilst the food is generally great the staff don’t give a toss! Waited way too long for nachos - they couldn’t tell me why they came 20 minutes after everyone else’s food arrived. It wasn’t like the nachos that we ordered were anything out of the ordinary - cheese, guacamole and sour cream. More lost than Edgar Players 😔 (that’s what my kids told me to say 😂)

Horrendus pickup experience. Made me wait 25mins by saying its in the making only to find out they cant even locate the online order in their system because someone already took it by mistake 🤦🏻‍♂️ the guy serving the online orders was least bothered and was doing the orders randomly as per his list which resulted in orders being sitting around before someone came pick them up whereas people already on the window were kept waiting. Not even once in that wait time the dude asked what order i was waiting for then another person from the back came and asked my order and then realised the issue that was so frustrating they really need to do better on the online pickups. If you are busy, put a relay time on the upcomming orders or something so that people are not left standing for such extensive periods of time.

Found a cockroach head in my burrito, haven’t been able to get in contact with anyone at the store in the past hour in order to report this problem either. I hate to complain in reviews, but problems like this need quick responses for the sake of health and safety

Not sure what has happened over the last few months but the service and the quality of food has drastically decreased since the place has been renovated. On multiple occasions the food ordered came unacceptably cold and the burrito tasted disgusting. I haven't had this experience at other GYG franchises but Mount Lawley GYG is terrible not to mention the horrible customer service . Do not recommend. Was excited to check out the new shop since it has been renovated and was absolutely let down. I ordered a beef nacho fries and there was basically no meat in there, I had to fish around just to find it under all the slop of guac and sourcream they smothered ontop to hide their small portion of beef. To add, the beef that was in there was watery and that water ruined the rest of the meal and made everything soggy (chips were soft and soggy too) even though i had just been given the meal fresh. Not happy at all and wouldn’t recommend people go to this store if they want guzman y gomez.

I was at this establishment September 2023 I enjoyed my food but unfortunately wasn’t delivered at the promised time of 5 mins. There was an altercation between a mouthy Irishman and a Middle Aged lady. The Irishman got bent over the pick up bench after yelling at the middle aged woman’s boyfriend. She was furious and grabbed him by the décolletage and made my meal not ready in a timely manner. In the end, watching him get folded like a deck chair while I enjoyed my burrito tasted like justice

Food might be okay, but the service is extremely poor. Almost every time we order from this Guzman y Gomez, items are missing. Today when I picked up my family’s lunch, the staff member confidently assured us everything was in the bag. When we got home, we discovered half the order was missing yet again. What makes it worse is that there is no way to resolve the issue. The phone is never answered, no manager returned our call, and our online message has been ignored. This shows a complete lack of care for customers. After so many bad experiences, we’ve stopped trusting this store. If you do order here, make sure you open the bag and check everything before leaving, because chances are something will be missing. Very disappointing and unprofessional.

Not sure what’s going on at GYG lately, this used to be a solid, reliable spot with good food and decent service. I had zero complaints for ages. But over the last six months? It’s honestly gone downhill fast. The last three times I’ve ordered, there’s been an issue. We ask for sauce on the side? It never shows up. The serving sizes are noticeably smaller than they used to be, and the food looks like it’s been rushed, half-thrown together, and slammed into the container like it’s an afterthought. And don’t get me started on the staff. No issue with the younger workers, they at least try. But whoever’s running the show (older staff or what looks like management) just makes things worse. Rude, dismissive, and totally unwilling to own up to mistakes. Instead of fixing a problem, they act like you’re the inconvenience. I get that things get busy, but that’s no excuse for consistently poor service and a drop in quality across the board. The franchise owner seriously needs to step in and pull the team back in line. Right now, it’s just not good enough, and that’s coming from someone who used to be a regular.

As a loyal fan of GYG's flavorful offerings, I was eager to try their Nacho Fries with chicken. However, upon receiving my order, I was left utterly disappointed by the scant amount of chicken topping the fries. The promise of a hearty chicken topping was sadly unfulfilled, leaving me craving more protein and substance. While the fries themselves were tasty, the lack of chicken significantly detracted from the overall experience. GYG, please consider amping up the chicken portion to truly satisfy your customers' cravings.
